Hey everyone,
I have the Kaiser and am having trouble with my storage memory.
Total: 125.04 MB
In use: 111.10 MB
***Free: 13.88 MB ***
Why is my storage memory so damn low?... How do I find out what's taking so much mem up?... How do I free that memory up??? I have no programs open, and most of my programs are on my 4 gig storage card.
Any help or suggestions are truly appreciated!
- Jesse
Make sure the caches of IE, OPERA, ETC are deleted routinely.
If you are storing ringtones on your main memory, download software that will allow ringtones on the storage card.
Same goes with any audio clips, videos, or pictures.
If you use resco explorer, make sure the recycling bin is cleaned, or simply disable the recycling bin.
This should free up a nice chunk of storage space. (Ofcourse assuming that most of your programs are actually on your storage card; check your main memory programs folder to actually see whats installed on your main memory)
Thank you for your help!
One more (silly) question - When I install programs to my Tilt, it asks me if I want to install them to the main storage or my memory card. I almost always choose memory card, yet when I check my main storage memory after I install to my storage card, the main storage is depleted... Even though I chose storage card, it still installs some components to the main memory... why is this?
ekw, whats the name of the sofware that allows storage of ringtones on memory card with kaisers?
Thanks....
Just move them to the route of your memory card - no need to purchase software!
Just like on the full-sized Windows, certain programs will want to install a couple of files in the system directories regardless of where the program itself is installed... Those shouldn't be big though.
hello, i brought a tsm 500 (qtek 2020) in 2006.
At the time it had the original windows 2003 SE installed on it. I installed WM05 and i lost an important program.
In settings/memory i had an option to transfer memory from program memory to storage memory in order to increase the storage memory.
For example I have only 15MB of storage memory available and 64 MB of program memory.
After installing all kind of applications (on the SD card) my storage memory has critically decreased to 1.6 MB but I have 25 MB of program memory free.
Do you know what application I'm talking about?
It allows you to transfer memory from storage memory to program memory and reverse.
Two things
1 - this is in the wrong forum, you obviously have a Himalaya, not an Alpine.
2 - i think the application in question is specific to WM2003. WM5 handles it's memory differently, i think.
Hi
Does anyone know how to adjust / increase the storage space available to outlook? As i have a lot of email, and it i sync all folders, it runs out of space?
Is there a way to move the storage of all emails to the internal card instead of the phone memory?
thanks
James
As long as Diamond doesn't support external cards there is no reason to talk about internal card as it is the same as phone memory or whatever you like to call it

Click to collapse
If you go from your inbox to menu, tools, options, storage and then tick the box for "When available, use this storage card to store attachments". I think it will save them to your "Internal Storage" instead (because you don't have a storage card).
i understand that, but i dont have much there, i would like to adjust the amoumnt of space given to the system and the storage card - is this possible?
Coucou !
I had the same problem with low storage memory because I have a lot of e-mails. But, as I have a HTC Touch Pro 2 (Rodhium T7373), I followed your instruction (Inbox, menu, tools, ...) and it worked perfectly.
Thanks again.
Sorry, useless for some, useful for others...
I have read a lot of info about memory, but somehow i don't seem to grasp the whole concept.
Here is what i understand so far about the internal memory.
part of it is Ram (wm calls is program memory)and the other part is rom (storage memory). Since i have an tp2 I am suppose to have the following Memory ROM: 512 MB RAM: 288 MB. I understand that part of the rom memory is taken bij processes and memory reservation. 1) My question is is the size of the custom cooked rom take from my rom ram or any other place (I mean if i have a bigger rom flashed, will it eat from my rom. or ram or neither? 2) my second question is if i stuff my rom with programs or files will it slow down the performance of my phone?(put in a different form should i install as much programs as possible in my internal memory or should i keep some space free?)
3) does anyone know the read/write speed of my rom memory. since i have a very fast microsd card (sandisk 8gb class 4) I was wondering if it might be close to the same speed or not?
4) if i have a cooked rom with sense, but sense is not running will it still take more program memory?
5) I remember a post that showed how to sync with my micro sd card (my documents of pc and wm) but i can't seem to find it anyone?
thanks in advance!
-some short answers, RAM is where running programs and their data is loaded/stored/executed - so only running programs use it.
Class 4 is very acceptable to exec programs from, I'll try Class6 shortly, never did compare to iunternal memory, but the bottom line is that it's OK to run programs from SDHC.
-remember SDHC gets unmounted if you choose to connect over USB as "disk drive"
Thanks Alcapone,
I have tested a class6 and some class 4 or trenscend, but my sandisk class 4 was much quicker, so i would love to see a class 6 from sandisk but others i would prefer my sandisk class 4.
Let me refrase my questions.
If i flash a lite rom, or a fully stocked rom wil it take away from my availible ram or rom or neither? (not talking about running programs just installed)
And about the post i can't find, if i remember correctly i should be able to active sync, but instead of my documents going to main memory, they would go to my documents on the memory card.
thanks for the quick reply.
[Q] "Cannot save photo - not enough free space" + more than 4GB free on SD card
Hey there,
I was taking some pictures with my phone (HTC TD2, original ROM) the other day and out of the blue an error appeared notifying me that the last photo cannot be saved since there is not enough free space. I double checked the amount of free space available on the SD card (this is where photos are set to be stored) and just to be sure also the internal memory, but both were fine (SD: more than 4GB free, internal memory: ca. 170MB free).
What is this? Some kind of a joke M$ is playing on customers? ;o)
In case anyone knows what can be causing this, please, let me know. Thanks.

Have you tried changing your sd card? One of my friends had a similar problem and a faulty sd card proved to be the reason.
Dear chacik,
Thanks for your response. Change of SD card helped, however, when I put back the original SD card (from which nothing has been deleted since the error occurred), Windows happily saved photos to it as well.
Sometimes WM behaves in a strange manner...
