Tilt Keyboard Jumbled! - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

I just recently flashed to Duttty's WM6.1 ROM and love it.
But there is a problem that i found.
The slide out keyboard doesn't work properly.
The normal white keys and Shift keys work fine, but the blue "Fn" keys are jumbled.
For instance, when i press Fn and then try to enter a "!" it shows a "@" or when i try to enter "&" it shows "="
What happened? i've done a hard reset and flashed it all over again and still have the same problem.
Is this a keyboard driver issue?
How can this be resolved?
Thanks.

You have a Tilt.
You need to install the Tilt Keyboard Fix.

Thank you.

Tilt keyboard fix?

I am using dutty's no.6 with touchflo on my tilt. It has the keyboard fix already as I understand it yet the ! and @ fn keys are switched. so I tried the keyboard fix install and they were still switched. Not that I can't live with it, but isn't there some easy way to just reg hack a fix on this?
Strange thing is:
I have UNinstalled the Tilt keyboard Fix and restarted (!!) the Kaiser. Then the keyboard mappings are correct, where WITH the keuborad fix they were mixed up...!
Tilt Keyboard fix
This fixed it for me.
Guys, remember to do a soft reset after installing the cab file on your kaiser.
I forgot to reset and it didn't work for me.
yep, i have to agree after installing the fix and soft reset, good to go.. thanks!!

Remap keys on Tytn II / Kaiser

I just flashed my Tytn II with a new rom and some of my keys are now wrong i.e. press fn Q and get ! instead of @. I've searched and cannot find a fix for this. I tried putting on Alex's keyboard fix and it didn't work. Does anyone know where I can find the file that has to be edited to the right characters or a cab that will do it for me. Sorry if this has been asked before but I've been searching for 2 hours and can't find anything. Thanks
Use Schap's Advanced Configuration Tool to change Keyboard Layout parameter.
Thanks, but I tried that too and it doesn't work. Is there not a txt file or something which I can edit?
I created a virtual keymapping for the difference between the HTC Herald & T-mobile Wing. Maybe this will work for you because it sounds just like the problem we had over in the Herald forum....
So try this :
KEYBOARD FIX for WING / HERALD & ROM hardware keyboard (keybddr.dll) mismatch
Use the Herald keyboard Fix ... because i think the herald & kaiser have the same keyboard layout.

Thanks for the response... But it didn't work either. I appreciate the help though. Any other manual ways to do this?

OK, I got it working thanks to a great member who had already dealt with this so I copied and pasted from the other thread and here's the answer:
4) The Rogers ROM changes the hardware keyboard layout. The layout is the same as used by the AT&T Tilt and so some of the keys behave differently (for example pressing @ brings up a ! and visa-versa). To fix this problem I needed to delete the registry key HKLM>HARDWARE>DEVICEMAP>KEYBD>CWSLayout

Hi,
I've recently bought an HTC TyTN II and am having problems with the keyboard. The "alt" keys are not how they are mapped on the keyboard, and I can't get a comma.
I've tried the above methods apart from the Rogers ROM, the link supplied isn't active any longer and googling the rom there are loads to choose from.
Can anybody help me?
Cheers,
Craig

Keyboard Issue: Backspace vs Delete

My hardware keyboard seems to be acting up. searched and didnt find a solution.
sometimes as im typing and i hit the Backspace button, it functions as Delete (keep in mind, i havent pressed Fn yet). i have to press Fn, then hit Delete, then turn off Fn in order for it to go back to Backspace.
anyone else have this issue or know how to fix it?
What phone/ROM? If its a TILT then search for the keyboard fix, that may help..
stock AT&T ROM 1.57.502.2 on Tilt.
I'm having the same issue using the latest L26 Diamond ROM (v9)... guess it's related to the ROM... will post a bug report to L26. Hope he can correct this for next version !

Thanks ~ but which version of Pqzii is functional on X1 ? The WM6 one is ok or hermes , Tero... etc
http://www.nicque.com/PQz/PQzII.htm
Just try it ...
Since Raphael is very similar to the Xperia I would recommend testing this first.

The Raphael-one did work too I remember but the Hardwarekeyboard on the Raphael is un-normal mapped.
So I tried the WM6 Version and it works nicely.

How about the 'au' key .. ?
Why does PQzII work for you?!? I tried the WM6 Version and it didn't show anything but a tiny white square on the startbutton, then when I tried to get it closed my phone shut itself down. I've uninstalled it right away. Thought about the other versions, but don't wanna risk anything. WHat do you suggest? How'd you get it to work?
yess actually i was also wondering of the fact that if it is possible 2 CONFIGURE the "au" key to CTRL key, coz we do need the tab key in MS WORD !!!
"Searh" is your friend.

Hardware Keyboard - Keymapping is COMPLETELY off...

I own an AT&T Fuze but since I'm not with AT&T and I'm with T-Mobile, I flashed to the HTC 1.90.405.1 ROM. Now don't get me wrong... With few exceptions, this ROM is actually almost exactly what I was looking for.
My main MAJOR problem is that my hardware keyboard mapping is completely off. I can type text but formatting characters such as "-" and "?" and "_" and the Fn and Caps keys and even numbers (0-9) are not mapped correctly and so I can't figure out how to type properly on this keyboard.
My question: Does a cab file exist that fill fix this so that the keyboard will be mapped correctly?
you need to install the fuze keyboard cab. Search for it.
EDIT: here it is: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2855122

Thank you so much. I'm going to use this until I can get the money together and then I'm just going to change the hardware keyboard keys to the ones from the actual HTC Touch Pro.
Then I will never have to worry about it again.
Thanks again bro.
lol your welcome. I dont know i like having this keyboard layout better than the original touch pro because i noticed that i used the symbols a lot more than i do numbers when i am typing a text or email or notes.
