Does anyone know if there's a wifi authentication client for the G1 which supports Cisco's LEAP? I've been looking for one for quite some time so I suspect the answer is no but thought I'd ask here.

I have yet again another question.I don't want to sound like I'm completely ignorant as the person who asked how to listen to FM radio on the Tilt/TYTN II (Looks like dutty(?) made it possible though with the assistance of a FM headset or whatever.)
Anyways, I wanted to find out if it is possible to make the Tilt essentially act as a router. I don't think the Tilt/TYTN II can "broadcast" internet through wifi through its' 3G connection, but hopefully I'm wrong. Currently I am tethering it so it won't let me search the forum. Say's something about security issues but that's besides the fact. I tried searching a few days ago but I couldn't find anything useful. I tried ICSControl and that was no help.
Thanks for any info!
This is worth a try: http://www.wmwifirouter.com/
Seems to work well in my experience, though only as an ad-hoc network rather than access point. Great if you want one computer to connect to your Kaiser's internet (3G/HSDPA etc)
One word
WMWifiRouter
I've tried that before but it didn't seem to work.
it seems to be the only one maybe it was a settings issue you had
I've been using WMWiFiRouter and seems like a great tool for sharing the Internet to the friends while on the road.
It work flawlessly for me.
Cheers!

WMWiFiRouter works, but you have to remember is is working as an AD HOC router, not as an access point.
Some devices won't find ad hoc routers, like the PSP. So in those situations you are out of luck.
Hi,
I have been trying to find a way to enable Wi-Fi tethering from my G1 to my PSP. I have tethered to my Xbox no problem but the PSP cannot see the hotspot when tethering is enabled.
I have learnt that this is because the PSP only uses infrastructure mode for Wi-Fi connections, and Ad-Hoc (which the G1 uses) is only used to connect to other PSP's.
Unfortunatley I don't know too much about the nuts and bolts of Wi-Fi networks so this might not even be possible, but can the G1 run as a Wi-Fi tether in infrastructure mode? If not, why not? im genuinley interested in learning more about this and software development in general.
I imagine the demand for a program to enable this would be pretty high, to be able to have full wi-fi access on your portable gaming systems, no matter where you are would be fantastic. When i had previously asked on another forum about using the G1 to tether my Xbox I was told the connection would be too slow for gaming, that is nonsense, so please don't let that put you off.
Many thanks, and looking forward to your feedback and opinions.

Very true bro, 2mbps is nice and stable for online gaming, i used to do it with my PS3 2 years ago.. I know abit about wifi from long ago, its highly possible if the wifi hardware on the device which will send out a infrastructure ssid is like a routers wifi hardware, the trouble is, i'm sure mobile vendors don't want to let out harware info for software makers to make such software or else other standalone wifi portable devices will decrease in price and mobile phones with wifi would be very open to security attacks and fast to considering wifi speeds, also theres other technical glitches that could make it hard to creat a stable application being that not all mobile networks offer proper subnet masks or dns addresses, the list goes on........!!!!
Hello.
I'm trying to connect two wireless devices (HTC hero with a WM device or PSP for example) and I want to do that without an AP.
As far as I know that's possible with AD-HOC network, but wireless tether on android seems to only share internet and not just create a wireless network and since I don't have data-plan it doesn't let me tether.
I'm basically trying to create a walkie-talkie or a messenger app
So... is it possible to create and AD-HOC connection on my phone (not for the internet)?
Thanks in advance.
couldn't you just call (walkie talkie) or sms (messenger) the other wireless device?
Sorry but that was a really dumb reply.
The purpose is to make free calls and send free messages if you haven't figured that out already and even though I'm not going to be actually using this, it's interesting to try and I could also finally put some use to my PSP.
Also it has to be *specifically* wifi.
As far as I know the Nintendo-DS supports something like this. Is that true?
I thought of this aswell.
Could be very usefull!
I have been doing research on this and it turns out that the Nexus 6 had issues with corporate wifi on 5.0. Corporate wifi is just wifi that requires a username and password to access if you do not know and this is the kind of wifi my college uses. Well hoping this problem would be fixed with 5.1 update I got the update and am still having the same issue it verifies the network but only says saved never connects however many tries it does its just a huge loop and this is getting very annoying. I dont know if there is something I should try to resolve this problem or will just have to stick it out until google addresses it. If anyone knows more about this issue please inform me because I have reached a wall with my research on this issue.
Yeah, ever since I updated to 5.1 I haven't been able to connect either, and I try through the Xpress Connect app like and it never works. I had been able to connect normally when I was on 5.0.1 before.

Hm, my cable company offers local WiFi and I've been able to connect to their userid/password-required routers, then use their network. Did this just a couple days ago when signal in a particular store was really hampered.
Maybe it depends on the particular router and/or configuration they use?

We had to update firmware on our corporate router for the problem to go away.
See my post here for more details: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=59682044&postcount=12
LEAP authentication.
Try installing the hydra kernel.
I use it along with meanpop and have no problems connecting to LEAP

By username and password I meant one that the company or school gives you individually its not the kind of regular router login because at home I connect no issues but its the school wifi they even checked my account to make sure I wasnt blocked out of it and I was not. My fault for not being specific in the original post.
In my case N6 was able to connect to one password protected SSID without an issue, the subnet associated with this SSID is dedicated to provide internet access only.
The SSID N6 was having problem to authenticate with, was another SSID, whose subnet is bridged to provide access to both internet, and to corporate network.
According to Dell support, the Sonicwall router was failing to authenticate a connection coming through a bridged interface. I guess, N6 and/or Android 5.1 implements something new vis-a-vis authentication, that an older SonicWall firmware was not designed to deal with.
Immediately after SonicWall firmware update the problem was resolved.
Just wanted to chime in on this one... We have a corporate Wi-Fi as you describe (each user has a separate logon to the network) and I've not had any problems with Lollipop, 5.0 or 5.1. Not very helpful for you, but at least now you know it can work...
Hey guys I have a asus rt-ac1900 router that supports usb tether and a ac815s unite explore hotspot with unlimited data but for some odd reason the internet is extremely slow 500kbps usually or it won't even load a website but speed test shows I'm getting 20mbps down and 20 up. I'm really stumped on what is going on I have a hunch it may be dhcp related but I do not know how to fix it. If someone could please help me with some ideas it would be greatly appreciated!
the internet is slow in all devices?
Same issue was driving me nuts.
All devices connected to the router constantly lose connection or more like the response is incomplete.
It's the USB modem app on the asus router. It doesn't seem to work well with Unite Explore (maybe all Netgear hotspots).
I have the T-Mobile router and I thought it might be the buggy firmware, but even after switching it to the latest Merlin firmware, I still have the same issues.
I ordered the Netgear cradle, so that's my solution.

slow connection may be caused by many reasons. You should make sure this happens on all devices.
