Hi all...
Not quite sure how to search for this particular "feature", but when dialing a number, the numbers show up all together. For example, dialing 555-555-1212, it shows up as 5555551212. Is there a way to get it to show up like (555) 555-1212 or 555-555-1212? Or do I need to install a dialer skin for this?
(Using the Kaiser_HyperDragon_III_Raphael_NoM2D_WWE_20090113 ROM)
TIA!

Has anyone figured out a registry tweak so that the keypad doesn't disappear after you dial a number on the Tilt. There must be a way to fix it - I notice when I push 1 for speed dial to call my voicemail the keypad remains on the screen, but when I dial any other number it disappears. This is one of the few annoyances I haven't been able to fix on my Tilt. Thanks.
Keep keypad when calling . . .

Excellent first question!
I don't know the answer, but I'd like to know, too.
Obviously you can hit the left softkey for "Keypad" but that's an extra step that one might prefer not to have to do, but rather have the keypad remain showing, and have the left softkey option be "Call Status"
If you call a lot of numbers where you have to enter more numbers when prompted, this might be the preferred default.
No one knows? I'd love to change this as well.
This is the first "fix" i need to do.
HTC should sort this out and provide a fee down load. They are silly to think it would not be a problem .
There is a fix etc.. but its part of a big bundle of stuff that scares most "newbies" away.
Can someone not make a simple fix just for this problem with a very easy method to download and set up etc
I am sure that many members do not have the technical minds of most of you!
Is there any way to make the dialer default to showing the filtered call list, and have the keypad available via the softkey. Most of my dialing is the same few numbers and the list is much more useful than the keypad.

bump.
i know this is possible, i used it years ago, someone can help?
Hi,
I have several contacts that have numbers containing P (the pause), mainly for dialing through voip services providing cheap international calls such as dialnow.com or nonoh.net who provide a landline number that you can call from your mobile
The problem is that the phone does not match the full number with the contact, it only matches the first part up to the P. What I mean is, I have multiple numbers starting with the same landline, then P, then their number, like so:
0123453335P078127493041# - Foo Bar
0123453335P078924134212# - Joe Doe
0123453335P...
You get the picture. What happens is that the phone always identifies any of those numbers, regardless of which I call, only as "Foo Bar" (or which ever is first in the contacts list). It's quite annoying as it gets registered as Foo Bar everywhere: e.g. in the call history, while the call is in progress etc and only the first part of the number is displayed. Another problem is that if I use this kind of contact as a favorite in the People page in TouchFLO 3D, and I try to call it straight from the People page, then only the landline number is dialed, the part with P and the rest of the number is not sent at all ...
I would like it to be able to do a full match on the number, not just the first part up to P, so that it appears correctly in the call history, during call and to be able to call such a number from the People page in TouchFLO 3D.
Any fix for this?
Cheers
bump?
anyone has any idea of what I could try at least?
would a different dialer work? anything?
so many replies ...
I have found a workaround myself ... if you replace the P with a , (comma) then you will get a full match; maybe someone else wants that behaviour.
I have the same problem but no luck with comma...
What have you done? one number with p and the other with comma? that should work but if we have more than 2 ...
By the number of answers you got... i'm sure it will be complicated to solve this one
I solved this problem by sticking a space before the p
P works for me. I use it with a prefix number for 0800 numbers so that the call is part of my free mins.
Just spotted that you use a capital P. I use a small p. Might make a difference.
Thanks everyone.. it looks like that this depends on the dialler program used.
For me that solutions were not working but then I've updated my ROM (with new dialer) and it started to work.
Thanks a lot.
Is there any way to make the htc dialer automatically add the country code (1-xxx) as a prefix to any number I'd like to dial?
Normally I could have 1-123-456-7890 saved as A, however if I dial 456-7890, it won't show that I dialed person A. So it is possible to make the dialer automatically have 1-123 already input whenever I open it?
A bit of a step backwards from my perspective on the dialer vs. kitkat. I most often dial a number by spelling the name on the dialer pad, opening the contact then select, home, work mobile, etc. Is there some process analog on the new dialer. The only even loosely similar one I can find is to search contact with regular spelling (not dialpad) and this automatically brings up all numbers for a given contact.
Also, is there anyway to default the dialer to always open to the dialpad?
Thanks much.

Ugh, the functionality is built in... at least for the first part. When the hits begin showing up based on numbers dialed, simply touch the text/middle of the contact to dial the listed/primary number and the picture or letter icon on the far left to open the contact and choose the desired number. Wow, I'm glad this isn't a step backward.
