Anyone on AT&T having internet problems ?

Well for a week now my internet connection has been bad. Youtube don't work, can't download any files but i can surf the web just fine. Has At&t put a block on downloading or whatever ?
I would suggestcompleting your user profile to that other members have an idea of where you are located (or give that info in the post).
I'm in Northern Illinois and don't have any issues.
I'm in Utah and haven't had any noticeable problems. I'm trying to replicate your problem to no avail....

where are you located, i'm outside st. louis and i don't have any bad problems, once in a blue moon my 3g won't connect, some error about the remote party ended the connection, but that takes a quick reboot on my PIE and it's good
I'm in the Dallas Texas area and have had intermittent internet issues ever since the Tornadoes went through last week.
No noticable problems here in Memphis. Once in a while, a page not found comes up in Opera, but a reload usually gets it the next time. I should also add that downloading works fine for me.
Cincinnati Ohio, is having edge problems due to 3g upgrades in outlying areas around Cincinnati, When 3g upgrades are being done it effects the edge network. The 3g upgrade takes approx a week, and I a as regional technician for AT&T am always fighting this issue so be calm. DAMMIT you made me sound like a HTC spokesperson....."we are currently working on the issue" HA AH AH
Detroit,
and yes, issues for a few days, they were upgrading Edge to 3G around me though, (about time!! woohoo!!) and I had funky issues for the last few days, but normal now.

I'm located in Orlando,fl. The main problem is when I try to watch a youtube video using TCMCP or downloading a file, it drops the connection. Basically downloading and buffing problems.

download kaiser tweak and set your internet to enable more connections, that usually works with the buffering issues

Will give it a try and report back.
All good here
No issues here in Detroit MI
I've had issues for at least a week now. I'm also in Dallas, TX. No rhyme or reason or way that always works to fix it either. Sometimes i can go to Comm Manager, turn off date connection, then open IE and it works. Then sometimes that doesn't work at all. It's getting extremely frustrating! Emails won't download, RSS hub can't connect, no IE, no Google Maps, ugh! hope they fix it soon. what data plan are you on btw?
I have had issues in Milwaukee the last couple days in the evening where it would show a data connection but would not send or receive data for hours. reboots didnt fix it during those times either
Miami, Florida
All good here, no dropped connections whatsoever using Edge and 3G.
Guess you can add me to the list. Live in Irving, but work in Dallas. Same issues and same time-frame. Also, I am on PDA Max.
Still having the same problem, At&t said there's no issues in my area. Started on Monday, maybe updating there network or something. Hate paying for something that's not working right.

I'm having problems too. GPRS issues mainly. I'm on MediaNET using wap.cingular.
Well my billing period just started, now everything is working find. Maybe I used too much data? Do At&t have a cap on unlimited?
no they dont have a cap, but you get charged after 5gb of data.
I couldn't send MMS all saturday, i'm in central texas, so i called customer support and turned out they were updating the servers or something like that and people in texas were experiencing data issues, but everythings working now.

Problem with the AGPS of my N1

When the phone has GPS turned off, my location on Google Maps is 5 to 10 km off based on cell tower positioning. I am pretty sure it has nothing to do with my service provider because when I put in the same SIM card in my Nokia phone, which also has an AGPS chip, it reports my location on Google Maps pretty accurately to within 100 meters with cell tower location on and GPS off. Is this a software issue of my Nexus One or a hardware issue?
I'm from Toronto, Canada btw.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but AGPS has nothing to with cell tower triangulation per se. AGPS uses the position it gets from cell tower triangulation together with a list of satelite positions to tell the GPS chip roughly where it is so it can get a fix quicker.
I do get my position within a 100 meters with the GPS off though.
As above, that's not aGPS, it's triangulation, and it's not overly accurate. The longer you leave it, the more precise it should get though.
I saw my position reported as 'accurate to 5,000m' on Saturday, didn't last too long though.
It sounds like there is a specific problem with the service used to approximate your position in your area. It's like the tower lookup is off for some reason.
You can test this out by using your Nokia, and manually changing it from Nokia's service to Google's service. You can do that. In the position settings on the Nokia, type in Google's server address and see if your Nokia now reads 5-10 km off as well. Then you will at least know if its the lookup service or not.
Thanks for the correction. what I meant to say is that my location is way off when I have gps turned off, compared to my Nokia.

thanks. do you know what the Google server address is? I want to test it out.
supl.google.com
if ur standing still and waiting on gps itll take a really long time
if u stand close to ur wifi router with wifi on itll find a pretty accurate spot for u
if u start moving with gps on itll find u faster because your jumping between sat signals and cell towers

Wont make any difference to triangulation though.
He is only interested in the triangulation service, not the actual true gps function. Nokia has their own service for this based off of a global cell tower database, and Google also has their own similar service.
He's thinking that Google's database is malfunctioning in his particular area, which is why I suggested he try out Nokia's server address to compare.
Yup, that's what I want to find out. Thanks!

[Q] Strange data issue

Hi
A few days ago I started experiencing a strange issue that I just can't resolve.
Certain apps and accounts, i.e. Facebook, email, playstore, Google, Flip board etc. simply will not load/refresh/sync over mobile network. However, I can still browse the Internet using various apps (chrome, stock browser). With Spotify, I can stream music but am unable to download. There is no issue with the data connection as I am getting 'H' or '3g' and showing decent stats on Speed test. I have no issues at all over Wifi - everything works perfectly.
It's as if something is preventing apps from syncing/refreshing over the network but not affecting Internet access.
I have an unbranded device with a sim only Talk Talk deal.
Kitkat 4.2.2
4.12.401.11
I'm going to do a hard reset next but wondered if there was another solution.
Any ideas?

At work we had a phone that did not want to sync email on 3G. (Perhals other apps, we did not check.)
It turned out his phone was roaming on 3G, and the email client was set not to push mail when roaming.
I think the guy had bad signal on its own network on this location and so the phone was roaming.
He could still use his browser and many other apps without any problems.
Maybe it has nothing to do with your problem but I thought I should post it.
Because it sure has many things in common, also in this example on WIFI everything would work fine.
Kind regards, Stefan.
Thanks for that, unfortunately it doesn't seem to be a roaming issue.
I've just factory reset the device, completely wiped everything. Tries to log into Facebook and the same thing happened. Switches to WiFi and it worked straight away.
I tried forcing the mobile data to only use WCDMA. This actually seemed to resolve the problem temporarily and I was able to update Facebook however it soon reverted to how it was and I was unable to sync email, update Facebook or download on Spotify unless over WiFi.
I'm wondering if it's the Sim card or possibly a problem with the phone but I'm struggling to understand (albeit with limited knowledge) how this strange behaviour could be hardware related...

[Q] 3G data consumption while on wifi : USSD popup spam

Recently, while I'm on Wi-Fi, I keep getting spammed by data consumption popups of about 0.08mb data, even when the phone is idle.
The popups stop when I manually turn off 3G after switching to Wi-Fi. I have noticed this on several Wi-Fi networks so I don't think it's a Wi-Fi network strength issue.
Also this spent happen when I'm on 3G connection.
Is it a problem with my Wi-Fi sensor? Has any one else had this problem? I couldn't find a relevant thread anywhere on XDA, so posting this.
Any solutions?
Screenshot attached.
Thanks!
I don't think any legitimate system (either Carrier, WiFi or device) would use "Ur" instead of "Your". Check the applications you have installed on the device. Or better yet, install an antivirus application, if not just to identify and remove the offending program.
It is definitely from the carrier. Almost all carriers do this in India, if you're on a Prepaid connection. Try some apps which blocks these USSD codes. There are a few available on Play Store.
