HTC p3600 trinity boot problem

i started having this problem a month ago. after boot the PPC writes something in red and after a few seconds gets black
i recorded it so it would be clearer

i tried installing a few roms and even the original one from htc website
i would appreciate any help you can give me

Very strange. What SPL version doyou have? Have you used cooked roms? Anything else happend to the phone?

1. Press on/off button + camera button + reset (using the stylus)
2. You should now be in tricolor screen.
3. Connect the usb cable.
4. Make sure you have activesync runing.
5. Install the rom provided in the link.
In the link you will find rom+radio. (Radio version 1.20)

I habe all test: Without sim, without SD, with SD, with SIM (with SIM screen is grey)

Mine was doing this earlier
seemed that their was dirt stuck in the reset button hole causing it to stick in slightly

I got this problem too. My trinity would turn on and start to fade away. But mine was a liltle more artistic. Many times i saw a kinda round spot in the middle of the screen that become black, then half of the screen would black out and then the rest of the screen. Sometimes i even got colors.
I noticed if a had a fully charged battery the phone would work perfectly.
But most of the time it turn on, but the screen stayed black with the retro light on.
I was told to try the unbrick exploit.

I have a small problem with my htc p3600. It's not starting. It's loading only the bios but it's freezing with the screen picture and is not loading the WM 5.0 I try to change the WM5.0 with a new one but I don't have a active sync. connection.Please help

Finally, what you should do?
Since the Trinity / P3600 is getting old now, I believe more and more people are going to face this strange problem sooner or later.
So I thought I should save your time and tell you what you should do when your trinity starts behaving like what was described at the beginning of this thread.
YOU SHOULD DO NOTHING !!
THERE IS NO QUICK FIX
THERE IS NO WORKAROUND
THERE IS NO CHEAP SOLUTION
I have searched and tried everything mentioned in this forum that might slightly be related to the problem and all solutions failed.
So after days and days of experimenting, I gave up and sent my device to HTC dealer who called me few days later to tell me that the mother board needs to be replaced.
The dealer told me the cost will be around $213, but they said they are going to sent it back as it is, because they don't have that board model anymore!!.
Even if they had, for an old device like this , I don't think it worth that mush money to fix.

I resolve the problem with this : Simultnous press Power and Camera buttons and softreset, you'll got bootloader, three colors mode. Perhaps a little error message like this WLAN error but if you plug usb, it's ok.

I've had this same problem for about a year now and keep coming back to it.
Any forward momentum on solving the problem would be appreciated as I quite like this phone.
1. The phone will boot FINE without a SIM
2. It hangs like in the video (or other strange screens) as soon as I insert a SIM card (partially or fully)
3. I've tried 3 different SIM cards
4. I have no SD cards
5. I have installed 3.20.Olipro
6. An official ROM is re-installed
I must admit the phone has had a hard life (or is it just the cheap plastic coatings HTC use)

No sooner did I post this did I find a solution.
For anyone that is interested...I have managed to re-install the original HTC ROM but HAVE NOT managed to install a workable 6.5 ROM yet.
So, the answer I found was:
1. Put P3600i into bootloader mode (push camera+power+reset buttons for 2 secs and get triple colour screen)
2. Re-flash HardSPL 1.1 from my PC
3. Re-flash original HTC ROM (WWE_3.00.707.18_6275_1.46.30.11_108) by agian putting P3600i into bootloader mode first
I since tried several different radio stacks but haven't noticed any difference in reception so have left the original stack on (1.46.30.11) as it gives the best phone call quality
I love the UI of the latest WM6.5 but if the P3600i doesn't run them properly I'll just have to do without.

it was working fine for me when i put a little piece of rubber between the processor and the metallic cover of it but after 3 months i have the same problem and the paper dont work anymore.... now when i press the power button the screen is black, only the backlight is working anyone have any ideas what to do?

OMG WTF, as soon as I saw this thread I switched my HTC P3600 on and it started doing it I reckon this is cursed, I will upload a video onto Youtube later and show you that is what happened.

I had this problem myself, didnt know what i was doing wrong, altho my tri color screen did this, not the boot one.
I removed memorycard and voila, everything went smoothly.

Touch Screen

Hi guys I've got a HTC Ignito and Id like abit of advice the touch screen on my phone seems to be acting up as u can press on the left hand side and it will detect pressure but only the top and bottom 5mm will work properly the rest it will activate what is on the opposite side or will do nothing.
when Ive tried to calibrate the screen it just constantly repeats the calibration process non stop but if you do a hard reset it will start working properly but as soon as you reset phone it messes up again.
Any one any ideas is the touch screen broken or is it another problem its got the stock rom on it
Sorry for the bad structore of post feeling abit tired as been up for hours annoyed at my phone.

I noticed a simmilliar issue starting a couple of weeks ago. Looks like the X-axis of the digitizer starts to die. In my case it only detects touches in Y direction, but not in X.
So far it only appeared under hot condition like sunlight or constantly running device in craddle. After cooling down it always came back to normal behaviour (so far)

Cheers bud for the reply. Its weird tho as its same as yours as it will detect the Y axis movemnt as when i hadnt hardrest it you could minamise the clock but that was it. Simalar problem happened to my grandads orbit and acted like urs then got progressivly worse over a few months.
I wonder if anybody knows if it would be sortedby getting a new touch screen.

Hopefully we are not the only ones... But yeah my MDA Compact (Diamond on T-Mobile UK) is doin the same thing. Like you guys, mine has staterd to get worse, before it was just a few edge icons that i could'nt press..but now sometimes pressing the screen anywhere does nothing, all i can do is scroll up or down.
Axelpix... you make a good point about temp...mine gets quite warm when charging on the USB. I will try to see if this is causing the problem.
Any info on fix would be greatly welcomed.
PS i'm running the Windows 6.5 Energy ROM. 14/07/2009

Hi guys least im not alone I think the only way to fix this problem might be to replace the touchscreen im just looking to see how much it would cost to buy a new one and if its easy to just replace the screen or if it comes attached to the lcd screen like on the orbit

Yes, I have experienced this when i switched the handset on for the first time after purchase but it went off when I forced a restart to the handset.

my touch screeen of my phone stopped responding this morning iv tried flashing a new rom to see if it was the rom that was the problem cos i use custom roms alot. i had been using itje's touch it leo 4.2 rom with the new fullscreen horizon when this morning i was using it fine... put it in my pocket got it out again about 10mins or so later to listen to some music and nothing was responding. thinking this was just the phone freezing for something as i have only begun using itje's rom since last night i turned the phone on and off again tried a hard reset. and have just tried re flashing the rom to see if itwould work but the rom flashed fine and touch screen was responding until i got to the part where u tap here to setup device at the very start of devide setup... and then nothing again... but it was responding earlier when the rom was preparing the device for setup as it displayed the "touch it" logo on the screen when it booted up and when the screen went dark i touched the screen and it lit up again.....
any ideas ppls? any help would be greatly appreciated i love my X1i and would be horrified if i had to fork out another 1000AUD to get a new one

hi bludsuka i 've got the same problem mine no responsive at all tho i looked on my advanced config before i hard reset it back to factory settings and it was set at custom i tried to put it back to default but i couldnt change it with just the keyboard and buttons. Now im stuck on the damn wm6.1 screen too, im gutted i paid like £220 3 weeks ago and now i cant do anything with it. im stuck with what to do apart from send it to my nearest service center. i would send it back but i bought it off of ebay so i dont know how i stand with the warranty inlcuding the fact ive flashed it back to generic firmware and ive also got cracks in my case. im gona email SE now.. i'll let u know how i get on.

Thanks heaps for your response, i also bough mine off ebay and have also flashed it many times. tho i have managed to restore a stock rom and the stock spl so i think i should be right for warranties.. only thing that could let me down is cracks in case they could say its been damaged by myself and make me pay for it. i sure hope not. let me no how u go. i emailed them and they have told me to hard reset which i have and they said to ring them... il wait to hear back from u before i reing them tho..
i dunno if my invoice will be ok for warranty either its a shipping invoice from DHL and doesnt have the IMEI no. on it anywhere as far as i can tell. i have emailed the ebay store i bought it off (personal Digital) to see if i can get a propper invoice but have had no response...

elo quick reply sorry i took so long, sent it back. SE customer service was a great experience for me. dare i say it, didnt need a receipt or any proof of purchase and just sent the phone. no rear casing, no memory card, no battery, they completely fixed the screen problem and replaced my shiny chromed bit of the phone cus it had a scratch on and i got it back it a yellow sony ericsson box saying "i love reunions" on it. overall a great service, considering what problems other have had.. go get an X2 or a X10 snapdragon mate take care - b

Mega touch screen problems on x1

Hi Guys
I've been having some serious problems with the screen on my X1, most of the time now the screen doesn't respond to me tapping it, alignment is a waste of time.I'm wondering is there something I can do to fix it or will it simply be a matter of returning it. I'm in my last few months of a 18month contract and based on my recent experiences I doubt I will be getting another x1 (or even x2)

Exactly whats happened to mine! Its my 3rd X1 now and O2 cant (wont) fix it. Its a terrible phone. I cant use it now and you know what, I dont care, I would rather have a Nokia 6310.
Ive had every problem going and Im careful with my phones. First one the screen died when opening, second one no one can hear me and now this. I have also had the usual cracks issue on all 3 phones. Even when the phone works the reception terrible and it hangs all the time. Never a sony Xanything again.

Alignment problems and touch screen problem
I just updated my X1 last week ( 02/17/2010, my phone it's 1 year old with no problem at all, before this ) and everything was OK. Then on sunday the screen wasn't aligned, and I started to aligned almost every hour. Then I realized that after sliding the keyboard, the touch screen was death (not black, but doesn't work the touch function) for about 40 seconds, and after that it works again ( opened and Landscape). I also need to align the screen very often.
Before this happend, I never aligned the screen, only when I updated the X1. Also, on last friday ( before the screen problem ) I installed the Youtube aplication for the X1, and gave me problems because it doesn't have a Landscape screen, and the X1 crashed when I slide it, then I had to reboot it.
After this problem I started to have problems with my X1 ( alignments and death touch screen with keyboard opened )
Does some body have an idea to solve the problem?
Im sure this has to do with software or advanced settings like HKEY config.

It's not something either of you installed, but your hardware - either your digitizers are on the way out or your flex.

yes, i can say its hardware. I have repaired many of them now.
Most of the time when its black/no touch screen response its the flex cable.
somehow the cable damages very easy when opening/closing it.

Have try this?
1. Use a registry editor
2. Navigate to or search for:
HKLM/Drivers/TouchPanel/PressureThreshold
and
HKLM/Software/OEM/TFLOSettings/FingerPressure
(eg search on "pressure" and you'll find both)
3. Edit the values to any VERY VERY high value such as 999999999 (nine 9s)
*** CAUTION: do NOT change either of these fields to anything less than about 2000
because if you go low enough you will make your touchscreen unresponsive,
at which point it's tricky to change it back (learned the hard way)

I have the same problem now and before I read this thread, I formatted my X1 cos I thought that problem was caused by software. Now I am sure it's about hardware. Have to open it soon

for me it started today after hard reset...too bad!

Well screen problems in Xperia are mostly caused due to the loose flex cable. Mine had the same problem. At times the screen would work and sometime the screen would not appear. But if you want to open your X1 and have a go at it yourself then do so.
I managed to fix my flex cable without causing any damage *phew*
If you have nothing to loose then give it a try and see if you get lucky.

Touch Screen Troubles (big ?)

Hi everybody,
I'm using my O2X for 2 days and I notified that the touch screen seems to have some problems.
I thought first that it was due to stock rom and I switched to Modaco FR10 and after FR11 (today in fact ) same problem. I finally tried RomKitchen 1.6 with Cpasjuste kernel and it hasn't disappeared ...
My problem is that a part of the touch screen doesn't work correctly. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
And sometimes, the whole screen/touch key doesn't respond, I must lock/delock the screen I order to solve the problem.

And sometimes, the touch screen comes "crazy". As some lazy person is touching the screen non-stop and everywhere.
Do you think it's due to some software issue or do I need to change my phone ?

That looks for me like a hardware problem.. Have never experienced something like that.
Only sometimes a first unlock try on pattern lockscreen fails, but second try it always registers my input..
I would go back to the shop and swap it!
