Hi guys,
anybody knows how to update the rom in a mac without bootcamp ?
Im actually trying to use fusion; but the device restarts in the boot screen and it stays stuck there, while the program gives me a connection error on the xp machine.
Thanks in advance
Just flash your device from a image stored on the sd card. Instructions are given in the various posts (or wiki) here.
Could be kinda hard Flashing from Storage Card without being able to flash HSPL.

As i said, im using Fusion, (VM), but it dosnt work.
Didnt know (and couldnt find) the sd way to flash it, so i just used a spare win pc lying around here.
Thanks anyway
better try "BootCamp"
I've tried it with Parallels and get the same problem. I haven't got boot camp but borrowed a friends pc to flash the HSPL and then use the storage card route.
Bootcamp might work though.
Parallels works for me. Put your device into bootloader mode, then connect it to the virtual machine.
Its doesn't work for me...I put device into bootloader mode than connect it to Parallels and try to update, but it show me error 260 (connection error)
Paralles and Fusion will work sometime.
the problem is the USB connection....device will not connect always after first boot.
This is a new problem what was not there in the Fusion 1.X and older versions of paralles.
I'm doing the updates via my physical Windows XP system..or the micro-SD card.

My wizard (Cingular 8125) becomes unstable recently so I decide to reflash. Due to my stupidity, my laptop went to sleep mode while flashing. I thought I bricked my phone but it seems semi-bricked. After looking around, I try to fix using bootloader mode (holding the camera button while turn on) and I can get to the bootloader mode but my Window refuse to connect.
I'm running Vista and it doesn't connect. Try killing Mobile Device Center thread and changed the PPC driver and still not connect. Try the "vista flash guide" sticky above but doesn't work....
So, is it possible to do this via miniSD? I don't have any backup. My previous ROM was original Faria WM6 rom (old one, not his recent one)......
Help needed.....
Well,I wud like to advise you to first try to reflash with pc running winXP,as it's highly recommended,as win Vista still has many issues.
Secondly,to flash through MiniSd,your phone must be CID unlocked and a working Rom is already backed up on a MiniSd card.
I already have the phone CID-unlocked before my previous flash. I have been using Faria ROM for about a year but it's just start having problem recently.
I do not have access to XP machine that I can mess with now. It would be great if I could have some vanilla ROM updated via SD while I'm waiting....
i would like to know how to flash via SD also my usb port is broken and haven't been able to update my rom for months now

If the phone is CID unlocked and you already have a backup of the rom on a Minisd card,Yes! its possible using the MTTY 'rs2d.all' command.Read here how to do it:-

Hello,
Yesterday I tried to flash my phone. First I read al the info here and also watched some videos at youtube. I have a iMac and use parallels to run Windows XP. I can sync without any problems through Activesync. The usb is plugged in at the back of the iMac.
So I started the hsplwrapper from olinex. Everything went okay until I got the tricolour screen including text 'usb'. Then the usb connection stopped and the phone could not be flashed.
Checked the issues on the forum.
I tried different usb ports a sspl-manual with no results. Also restarting pc, hard reset on phone also nothing.
Maybe it is not possible because I use windows through parallels? Or do I have to use a cradle instead of a plain usb cable?
Does someone have a clue?
Unplug the USB cable after running uSPL or HardSPL, then plug it back and wait till USB comes on the screen again.
Maybe search for the proper HTC drivers for Windows XP.
Reply
Thank you I will try this.
blackstone ruu is known to stop functioning using xp running on parallels..
ull need a pc to update to hspl and then u can use the sdcard to flash in future..
try instead of parallels using boot camp with the updated drivers, maybe this can help..
Is there also an other alternative virtual maschine for Imac that is more stable for performing this task?
If possible I do not want to use bootcamp.

well parallels and vmware actually limit the xp capabilities..
for full functioning there is only boot camp yet..
Okay then I will give bootcamp a try
Thanks for the tip!

Luckely I still have some older desktop windows pc and tried there to flash it and it works without any errors ... so thank you all for the help and I am looking forward to all new roms!
are you unlocking your phone, or trying to flash a rom? if its a rom , just name it BLACIMG.nbh and copy it to the root of your SD card. then reboot your phone while holding down the "volume down" button.
Well I flashed a rom and now I'm enjoying the new 6.5 wm and it works fine.

I am in the unfortunate situation of being in a Mac only house. I really miss my PC, but that is for another day. Anyway, I need to update the rom on my phone. I know I have to get HSPL onto my phone before I can flash a new rom. I have fusionware and parallels runing on my mac, but can not get either to work to flash HSPL onto the phone. Is there anyway to flash HSPL onto the phone via the memory card, or is there any way to do it with a Mac? If so, can anyone please point me to the right direction.

you can try to move the folder that contains roms file to my document first
if you use virtual desktop
i can not say that it works, but maybe you will try it.
install wine for mac
load the Mono implementation of .Net for Windows (http://www.go-mono.com/mono-downloads/download.html klick on windows and load the first "mono for windows...")
install it with wine
than use the manual method of flashing.
pack the SSPL-Manual-TouchHD on your phone and start it
you will see the bootloader in a older version (1.07 or so)
than start the HSPLWrapper_Blackstone_156OliNex with wine and hope that wine/mono/HSPL will find your phone ...
when it works, you can flash you new ROM via SD Card.

i have a macbook...flashing from the mac i found a bit hit and miss...in fact connecting the phone at all was something that sometimes worked an sometimes not..althought this may simply be the way i have (or have not) got things configured.
i found the easiest way was to use BootCamp and instll Win XP on the boot Camp partition...
...start the macbook in windows mode (runs natively on macbook (intel)) and then flash as you would from windows
Some some strange reason if I try and hard spl / flash via usb method Windowds Mobile Device centre drops out half way through the process (when phone goes into boot screen) and the install fails because the phone is no longer sync'd with the PC....
I have never had this issue before....which is why it is puzzling me..
I get an error message on the PC saying: "Error [206]: Connection"
PC is running Win 7, 64bit if that makes any difference...
p.s do I need to hard spl each time I install a rom? I kind of do it now out of habbit......

Windows 7 x64 is the problem, you need hacked drivers.
update the drivers of your phone with the ones attached here.
You don't have to do HardSPL every time, only one time is enough.

Since when do you need a hacked driver to flash Xperia X1 using Windows 7 64 bit?
I've been flashing using my PC which is on Windows 7 64 bit, never have I used hacked drivers.

Thanks for the reply.
I have unzipped the folder, but am unsure what I have to do with the files....
Sorry for being such a n00b....
I have a Windows 7 x64 PC and got no problem flashing different ROM's on this thread. As what the others have said, you only need to HardSPL your phone once and then you can flash any ROM you want. You don't need any drivers as I have not installed any on my PC. Maybe your phone's battery is below50% during the time of flashing? If that's a no go for you, why don't you try flashing using the SD Card method?
I synchronize my phone using ActiveSync. After flashing wizzard my rhodium wanted a driver. I didnt find it and now I'm standing in the tricolor.
Somebody help me please what to do !!!!! :-(
In the tricolour screen (the bootloader), does it say "USB" at the bottom ? If so, you should still be able to flash it ok. Though if there is a missing driver on your PC, it might just come up with an error and not be able to flash it. You could still try flashing from SD card in that case.
I did a soft reset and my old ROM was boot. Driver is missing. I have to install it. Thx

if you want to obtain the missing driver, you shouldve left the phone on the tri colour screen, and now this is my question, what OS are running? Win7 or XP? if youre on Win7 its going to search for the drivers on the internet and it should take 5 mins, as stated above if the drivers are installed it should say USB on the bottom and should be ready to be flashed, this happens to me once in a while when i flash a ROM, i just leave it on that screen and let the computer do the work and sometimes the RUU which is the program u use to flash a ROM will have an error, thats fine, just re run the RUU and should be fine from there
My OS is win XP, but this computer is adjusted using XP lite. One of important component is removed (maybe drivers support... idk). I did not know that I have these problems during the flashing on this computer.

If you have the ActiveSync drivers it should be automatic. If you were able to Sync with ActiveSync, you can flash. Just let it install the drivers by itself or download ActiveSync again and install and try again.
or flash from memory card.... no need for drivers.

Copy RHODIMG.NBH (you can take from any Rom, sometimes it has another name, rename it rhodimg.nbh) to your SD card using a card reader form your computer
Put it in your phone than start. It will ask you to push start button to begin flashing.
After flash restart phone with red button under battery cover

Have you tried doing a Windows update while the phone is hooked up to your computer? Your computer probably just doesn't recognize the phone. I had that problem when I did my first flash. Windows update just found the drivers and installed them and I was good to go.
I think what he was trying to say is that he used N-Lite to strip down his XP install and removed some critical driver or possibly PNP pieces..

I understood that but if ActiveSync works, then flashing should work as they are the same driver. Probably needs even less components than ActiveSync.
