Over the last week or so my htc has been driving me nuts!
Calls just dont come through to me. It seems to be going straight to my mailbox and then Text messages are also delayed.
I cant make calls as it drops it before it even connects with the other party.
However, when I soft reset it works fine to just after the 1st call I make.
I dont want to hand it in for repairs, that saying if I can fix it myself with the help of Xda-developers.
Can anybody help me?
Have you tried different radios?
what you mean radio?
right ..
here is my info
ROM version : 1.56.405.5
RoM date : 08.28.07

Unlike others who flame people for not reading or searching I will not because you have stated you searched. The solution maybe simple... Do you keep an open data connection at all times? If so that maybe an issue, try ending the data call when youre not in use and see if that helps. Ive noticed with my tilt that if I keep the data connection always open my SMS will be delayed and won't recieve all my calls.

If i seem to have a specific problem, it will take me a long time to find the solution.
so heres to that.
ill rather state my problem, Im sure there are forumites here, who really dont mind helping other people.
Proudpop86.. I think i know what you mean with regards to the open data sessions. Ill fiddle around and try and disable it and see if it works. Thanx for the heads up.
as one of boys said you can get all answers in wiki - but here are some info http://wiki.xda-developers.com/
it seems ur radio is bugged. need an update.
your radio rom is the firmware that makes your phone connected to your network provider http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=KaiserROM_FlashingFAQ
you must know the compatibility of your os rom and your radio read the ultimate thread by alltheway http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Kaiser_Radio
you need to perform a hardspl procedure before u change ur radio http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=334679
you will have different results (network strenght, wifi strenght, bt, gps, battery drains) with different radios http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1862232&postcount=1464
if you are on warranty and new to all of these i advice taking ur device to agent and get it updated official (shipped) roms

thank you jahrami
seem to have been my Network type settings
If set on auto the phone drops calls, but if Gsm is selected, its perfect.
I do notice however that .. I only Gprs available now and 3G or Hsdpa is not used as usual.
A bit annoying , but i guess its better then the phone missing calls.
Sounds like you have the dreaded dead 3G radio problem. Forcing to GSM will work, at least for some time. If you want full functionality back, that will require sending the phone in for repair.
Anyway to fix it myself?
not really concerned with warrantee's
If it is what I and many others had, no. Only a mainboard replacement will do.

I've recently bought HTC Diamond, but I have a problem I can not run GPS:
I'm doing this by going in tools and i click on the QuicGPS icon after i click i appears a window which is asking me to download data from the server i used to download this datas for more than 1 hour but nothing hapend after each the page it is asking me to download and download again can anybody explain what to do or haw this thing should work thanks
You're not going to get a lot of sympathy around here asking a question like that. You really ought to have searched around... right now on page one there's at least two concurrent threads concerning GPS issues.
Anyway, seeing as you're new at this... when you've downloaded a QuickGPS update once, that's it; just close it, leave it alone, and don't run it again... this is not your GPS, it just gets some settings for it!
Then go away to an application that uses GPS (like Tomtom or Google Maps) and set that to use your GPS.
If you're still stuck after this, then search around, the answers are here if you look... Though there's so much ****e talked about GPS around here that you'll need to try to filter the good from the bad I'm afraid.
thanks
thanks man
Hello everybody,
on my diamond the GPS performance was very poor. The time to first fix was about 8-10 minuites but that was not the worst thing, I also had always GPS positioning LAGs. It was very bad.
I tried everything, different ROMs, Radios, Tweaks, Workarounds, Navigation Softwares.........
Nothing helped me. I was very frustrated.
After all this I found the solution that solved all my GPS problems.
I tested the HTC tool:Nadavi_HTC_GPS_TOOL.cab
With this tool you can do 4 types of reset on your integrated GPS modul.
I tried all.
It seems to me that the one that fixes the problem is: Clear memory
1: You have to go to a location with a good GPS signal. Than start Clear
Memory in the Settings TAB.
2:After that look at the Information TAB: At GNSS DOP and Active
Sattellites, if get an update at Mode 2 you are done.
After this procedure all my problems are solved.
I have now a time to first fix about 30sec.
No GPS LAGs, the positioning is now very exact.
So if anybody have the same problems , try the HTC GPS Tool.
Hi, many thanks for the Tool, this is exactly what I´m looking for, but I do exactly the same as you describe, but by me there stands "Mode2: fix not available". Can you help me?
I do it like this, at first I choose the "clear Memory" option in the TAB setting, than I click on OPEN, now the log window shows many information, after it I go to the tab Information, and there stands "mode 2: fix not available"
Greeting ZJay

Should I use this HTC GPS Tool only for one time or everytime when I want to use the navigation software?

When you have updated your GPS it works without lags.
I have done the GPS update only one time.
I tried the HTC GPS Tool today on a Diamond Pro.
After the reset/clear memory procedure, all GPS LAGs are gone on the Diamond pro and time to first fix is reduced to 30sec.
I think it works on the Diamond Pro the same way as on the Diamond.
Sorry for the question, but I understand the procedure like the following:
1. go to the Setting, and click on the "CLEAR MEMORY" choice
2. than I click on OPEN
3. than the log windows shows a lot of data
4. I go to the information window
5. the window show MODE 2: 3D
Is it right? Or should I do another thing, which I have forgot? Thanks for your help.
I also made Hot Start, Warm start, Cold start, but I am not sure if this is really necessary.
I think the most important think is that you get the Update.
You can check this in the Information Tab.
Please let me know if it solved the GPS problems at your Phone.
Anybody tried "Nav. Init" button ?
On the same screen.
OK, I check it today afternoon on my way to home, than I can report to you. In the german forum ppcfreaks.de a member wrote that it can be also a problem of a ROM, a good ROM for the navigation should be the ROM from bepe, can you agree with it, I use the A.Z.T.O.R. V6 ROM GER. Or should it be problem of the RADIO. But I check it in a few hours, thanks for your help.

I push it, but I didn´t know what it does? Perhaps it seems to be a new initialisation....
I don´t think that changing the ROM help you a lot.
I tested 10 ROMs and I had the slow GPS performance at all ROMs.
Many folks say that you get better performance with your GPS with other ROMs, but on my Diamond it doesn´t helped me at all
to change the ROM. Same poor performance with alle ROMs.
I was so happy as I found the HTC GPS Tool. Itried the Tool
on 3 Diamonds and it solved the GPS issue at all 3 devices.

I have this screen (attachment) but I didn´t find a version nr.
It's in "About" Tab.
Mine shows V1.1.1.0
OK, sorry, my mistake, I have the same one
Full speed no waiting time link: Klick!
Sorry I also have approx. 40-50m lost. can you send me a detail description of the HTC GPS Tool.
to make it short please take alook at the jpg attachments.
I want to use the Phone as a gateway to the internet, likte original ROM provided.
Sometimes after connecting the PDA with the PC the intshrui starts automatically but now I cannot reproduce this anymore.
Screenshots are the error, the phone details and the rom details
I googled around four days and tried on my own, but no success.
It would be very important that the ics is startable, because im lot on tour with my laptop at people to help,
but cannot establish an Internetconnection to load drivers or to seartch google for the problems people have.
somewhere i read it could be a simple "link" to the intshrui.exe is false in the start menu of Windows Mobile 6.5, but I could noct figure aout how to find and/or change the link to it.
sorry for my bad english I'm from Austria.
Yours,
Robert from Linz

But it's good to know what to do if this happens again.
Thanks!
Hello ~~~
I'm a noob here on this site, so Hopefully I'm posting this correctly (if not, my apologies in advance...) I read through quite a few posts to see if there was a similar question already posted. If I've overlooked one please feel free to direct me to any posts on the subject.
I recently bought a HTC 8525. I owned a Treo Centro before, and ran a copy of Garmin Mobile XT on it. After purchasing my 8525, I tried to load my XT program on my phone. It installed without a hitch, but when I opened it up to run the program and use it ..... I received an error message that showed that my maps weren't present. Is there certain settings that I can change to make them visible, or is there something else I can do to be able to use it on my phone?
Thanks in advance for the help
did you downloaded the map file?
Here's the thing .... it was working with my former phone. I switched carriers recently, so all I want to do is be able to use it on the phone that I use everyday. I think its just a bit excessive to carry around a extra phone (which doesn't work otherwise), just to be able to use my GPS program.
I had never gotten this error message (about the maps being locked) with my other phone. I have the unlock code for it, but I don't know how to get to the area where it can be inputted. I've searched the program (as well as i could), but am unable to find out where exactly to place the code so that I can unlock it. Any help would be appreciated.
Got someone to correct the problem for me. Thanks for the help ........
