On Himalaya, backlight turns of when running SCLPC++. I found a small workaround. I'm posting the link here, just in case it could help.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1840291&highlight=sclpc+backlight+fix#post1840291
The 0.5 release will fix it the right way, but this one works fine on my device.
great work..
Thanks.
Version 0-05 has just been released, fixing the bug. The new cube uses OpenGL, so it may be a bit slower than the previous one. Anyway, Slither2006 has really done a great work.
Edit: Here is the latest build of Opera 9.5!!!

There is another piece of SW that was recently ripped from the Diamond rom. It is another newer bets build of The upcoming 9.5 Opera browser. As such it was VGA. A few moddifications have been made for QVGA graphics.
Wanna give it a try? Here ya' go.
Opera 9.5 Build 781 Beta: http://rapidshare.com/files/116621545/Opera_9.5__Build_781__Diamond__Uninstallable__QVGA.cab
EDIT: This VGA version has been moddified from the original version as follows:
1. Cab fixed to allow for uninstallation.
2. Skin used is QVGA Version from PPCGeeks 9.5 build 405 Uninstall proper (sorry mate forgot your name)

The first one I got did not have it. I just came upon two more Diamond ROMs though, but I'll have to say that to extract & fix a program like tomtom would take time I do not have. Remember, this is a VGA device we're talking about, & to rebuild a tomtom cab would entail not only a lot of library changes, but a registry rebuild too. When I have time I'll see if it's in either of the two new ones I've found, but don't hold you breath.
I will not work for me on my AT&T WM6 Kaiser. Is there any way to get it to work, beacause I'm really curious about this browser? Thanks

2nded..... White screen and menus... no reaction at all to websites on edge, 3G, or wifi.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=393701&highlight=opera works fine on my Tilt... maybe try the WM5 version if you have trouble.
I've tried them all, none of them worked, same thing with build 405. Is there anything I can do?
Holly crap guys, Sorry I didn't test this first!! Really sorry!!!
Man this version is sloppy & has some skin/color issues due to the ini settings.
I'll clean it up today & posted a much better version. :Ashamed
Well, the version from PPCGeeks works for me. A lot of promise -- much better than the previous build I used (the one from Laurentis prior ROMs). Still slow, memory and CPU hungry, and has really big problems with input (especially fields). Going back to Opera mini 4.1. The best so far despite all the shortcomings of being a java app on a WM device.
anyone else having issues witht hey Diamond kayboard not working with 9.5?
it simply wont type onto any of the browser fields ie. seach boxes or loggon boxes.
any ideas?
I know in my previous version I could get flash to work, but in this version I cannot get any flash to work. Opera does not even recognize that I have flash.

i've realized that it does have some skin/color issues as well. Not only that but its a little slower in loading pages and almost locks up when u try to exit.
But the adaptive text has been improved. still not sure whether i should i go back to the previous build or not.

as of now i had some minor issues like the history not showing up, but if scroll the wheel it selects it. but other than that this version has been incredible. sometimes when zooming in i prezz the zoom button once, but this build rocks.
no need to be ashamed
Thanks for this new build, any chance you could also post the VGA version, would like to try on my Universal, thanks.
Found VGA version on ppcgeeks !
Installed your QVGA Version on the Kaiser but the settings page is TINY, is it a problem with my ROM maybe ?
Just came across this while bowsing the pocket GPS site. Anyone tried it, looks like a good alternative to TT7 and would be less hasle installing the maps.
http://www.alk.eu.com/diamond/
I'm already running Copilot 7 on my Diamond. I don't think this version is any different but I could be wrong. Installation of the standard version was easy anyway.
I purchased the Diamond version of CoPilot 7 from Handango. It installed quickly & easily. It's VGA & uses the scroll wheel to zoom in & out.
I haven't fully tested it yet but first use on foot lagged. I have messed a bit since so hopefully it will be better.
The gps picked up pretty quickly and accurately so happy there.
Copilot 7
hello,
Can you test it in your car ? and report if it lag like Tomtom navigator 7 or not.
tanks in advance.
@++
Lag? I've not noticed any lag and having used TT for several years now I'd likely be quite sensitive to any delays..
Mathew
I've been using the 7-day trial version of CoPilot7 on my Compact IV, and I have to say, the route planning seems to be WAAAAY better than TomTom5 on my MDA Pro! Not to mention that it seems you get traffic info on the CoPilot. Apparently, T-Mobile customers can upgrade to the full license for £50 all inc. Alternatively, for those that have a Diamond but not on T-Mobile, they might consider downloading it from Handango for just under £56:
http://www.handango.co.uk/PlatformP...pe=2§ionId=0&siteId=172&txtSearch=copilot
For the price difference, I'm wondering whether I'd be better off paying the extra £6-odd and getting it from Handango - that way, if I do load a cooked ROM, I've still got the full software for CoPilot?

It may be an idea to pay the extra. I have flashed a new ROM 3 times in the past week so it's been useful having the files at hand. The CoPilot software auto installs when the Diamond boots up again which is very useful. I keep the files on the root of the internal storage as it recommends.
I don't know if it's the same for the normal version of CoPilot 7 but as I said the Diamond version is VGA and uses the scroll wheel to zoom in and out of the map.
I have been busy at work recently and haven't really thought about testing the software properly but I have some free time soon so will check it out more. In particular I want to check it when walking as alot have complained about the GPS on the Diamond when walking.
I've used quite a number of GPS navigation programs, Tom Tom 7, Co Pilot 7, NavMan, Garmin and I can say personal experience with Australian Maps is Tom Tom routes the best for me. I've had Co-pilot do a huge loop around a destination when there was a straight road to the place or choose really interesting routes.

Normal version also is VGA and supports scroll wheel zoom. I think the only difference is a specific install for the Diamond (due to lack of SD slot). Normal version is easy install anyway.

So, its been about a week, found anything?
I'm also very intersted in this.
BTW, the 7-day trial is only officially available with T-Mobile. I have asked ALK if there is a demo version of the Diamond edtion, but there isn't.
The other thing that puts me off is that for the combined price of the TD and CoPilot (with Euro maps) I could get a nice standalone sat nav solution. However, I have bene told by ALK support that if I buy the Diamond edition of CoPilot and then change my phone, I will need to re-purchase CoPilot. I don't know how true this is, but two different ALK support guys have now told me the same. However they did also say that the standard version would run perfectly happily on a Diamond.
It would be nice to confirm whether or not the Diamond edition does have other benefits over the standard, apart from the ease of installation. If not then I can't see any reason to buy the Diamond version.

The normal version is not VGA, if you look closely at the splash screen and the graphics you will notice a slight pixellation of the images/graphics. This is because the regular WinMo version is designed for QVGA or lower.
But the maps do not pixellate because I assume they are vector graphics (or some equivalent).
I have the normal Copilot 7 and can confirm that all the veatures mentioned for the Dimond version appear to work the same for the normal version.
I installed by using the Copilot Central to install the program, then I just copied the folders off of my SD card to the internal storage.
Some instruction for copying the SD card can be found here:

I think that like for TT7 the maps are registered to a code that is valid for the device it is being used on....change your device then there is a code bust and you cannot use the maps.....hence the need to get the maps again
.....not sure if/how you can transfer your maps from one device to another (when you upgrade)
So I've got a version of PocketNester that works fairly well for my HTC TP altho it can be super slow and almost unplayable without sound. Add in the fact the keyboard mapping is flat out retarded (user error?), I wanted to see if anyone recommended anything better.
I'll gladly take an equiv emu (sega or other?) but would really prefer NES or SNES. Any advice for something a bit more updated/recent much appreciated!
Google Morphgear.
I'm actually having really good luck with the latest version of SmartGear... You can find the main site here:
http://www.bitbanksoftware.com/SmartGear.html
BUT! There is a later release on this post here that I accidently stumbled upon, see Post #1085, and the developer has a newer version available that fixes all of the Touch Pro and Fuze keyboard issues, plus improves VGA landscape support for us. He needs to update the main site with this release, but it's much better, and plays quite a few systems, and is significantly more up to date than MorphGear.
http://www.modaco.com/content-page/...-gameboy-emulator-for-sp-beta-test/page/1080/
good luck!
I'm having this problem too, and I've tried every emulator under the sun. The only emulator that works perfectly with my AT&T Fuze is the playstation emulator (FPSE beta). I can map any key I want on that and it works, while the others (smartgear, morphgear, snes-emu V.1.12.2) are just messy, even with KforTP!
I will take your advise be77solo and try that out and report back. Thanks.
Okay I tried the newer version of smartgear and the buttons work but just like the old smartgear the emulation for SNES ROM's is so messed up it's unplayable.
I should also remind the OP that Morphgear's button settings do not work on the Raphael. Even with KforTP, the buttons work, but they are completely messed up on my AT&T Fuze, up is left and down is right, and even after knowing that and working around it, the buttons still mess up and I could never get a perfect button combination where up is up and down is down, When I did get button settings close to my liking, they would reset and the buttons would mess up all over again!
Please help, why pocket e-sword menu for book, chapter, and verse are squeeze in mostly new ROMs dated 2009.
This program was work perfectly in earlier ROM.
Any solution?
Same issue
I've had this same issue with the shrunk toolbar icons and misalignment of some of the controls. I'm not sure what the solution is.
One more
I've been using pocket e-sword since ages (dell x50v, Hermes, Kaiser, Raphael) and this is the first phone which has trouble displaying it. Actually my original 1.90.405.1 Raphael ROM did show it correctly, the trouble came with the official 5.05.401.1 upgrade in February.
I can confirm that EnergyROM 2.0 41609 also suffers, though e-sword was one of the first things I tried on it :-(
Maybe we should also bug Rick Meyers to try to see the cause of the problem. Hopefully all new WM phones, not just HTCs will be effected, so the pressure might increase. He upgraded the program when the new VGA PDAs came out.... The best Bible program in my opinion!
I sent him this bug report:
[greetings...] This February I upgraded my VGA WM6.1 HTC Touch Pro to a new ROM version, and e-sword appears garbled. As I've been searching for a solution to this problem I'm starting to realize the amount of people being effected, anybody with a newer HTC phone: VGA, WVGA alike :-( While we are trying to find a solution, I can imagine it might be a very little change in your program which could fix the problem... Maybe not...
The icons shrunk to quarter size, forms squeezed to half width (I'd gladly send screenshots, let me know if they would help). I'm still trying to use the program, but it's almost impossible. Maybe there's an easy fix. I'd guess it has to do with the screen metrics the OS reports to e-sword and the way e-sword then uses these values. People also think it could be related to .Net 3.5, but even if I force my PDA to use 2.0 it doesn't seem to fix. [greetings...]

I submitted the problem twice through the website with no reply. Sounds like he's got to be well aware of it by now.
I've got some commercial software that works ok, but it just doesn't function as well. Also, there aren't as many commentaries available.
I've been looking around for a solution to this problem as well. I have a Sprint Touch Pro; it works when I use the original ROM that came on the device, but on any other ROM from any kitchen that I've tried (including WM 6.5) this problem exists where the program seems to think it is on a QVGA device,. I've gone through the registry looking for the possibility that something has the wrong resolution encoded there, but I've not been successful.
There is a config file for the Pocket e-Sword itself; perhaps on VGA devices it sets a value in this file (for those cases where it works)? I'd rather not go back to the stock ROM at this point, so perhaps someone else can look at this file (\Program Files\Pocket e-Sword\Pocket e-Sword.config) to see if there is anything related to resolution there when it is displaying correctly?
I've emailed Rick Myers through their web site also, and like the others I've heard nothing unfortunately so far.
Confirmed
I can also confirm this on elite RC3 ROM for the Fuze.
Thanks for bringing this up, Im running the NRG Rom which is great but having the same issue. Esword working properly would make make the Fuze the best phone I have ever had.

I agree, the config file is just for storing personal settings. What we need is a response from RM. I've sent bug reports in the past and never had replies, which is a shame!
I'm glad someone mentioned that forcing .net 2 doesn't help I was about to try that!
Here are the ROMs I've tried that e-s has these problems with:
Official HTC Touch Pro Updated ROM
Elite ROM RC4
Shep's ROM 21222
Shep's ROM 21232
I haven't found a modern ROM that works as yet but if I do I'll let everyone know.

e-word display problem
Hello,
I wanted to communicate you only briefly, that i contacted Rick and he work on the problem with the display.
Bye,
Tom
Great new to hear Rick is working on the problem.
Hopefully we get as well an update for the pocket e-Sword (the desktop version just launched a new version recently)
A new version has been released!
It solves almost all problems, the only thing left (at least on my Raphael) is that the bible text is WAY too large, even with the smallest font size selected. I've contacted Rick about it, hopefully he'll come up with something.
Pocket e-Sword for Windows Mobile 6 (VGA only)
http://www.e-sword.net/pocketpc/downloads.html
Pocket e-Sword for Windows Mobile 6 (VGA only) (v3.1.0) 4,452kb
Updated 06-22-09
Not tested it yet as I'm at work on a Mac but hopefully all is well now!
Thanks Rick! (If you're reading this?)
Update: Having now tested it on my Touch Pro running WM6.5, I can confirm that everything that was teeny tiny, is now as it should be - top marks! That said, the text size is abnormally large... hopefully Rick gets wind of this bug and fixes soon otherwise people will be reading over my shoulder on the train - maybe that's not such a bad thing!?
New version works on Touch Pro2
Hi all
I am using the new (VGA) version on my Touch Pro2 and it seems to work well. A couple of times it's not been able to open the bible and other resources but a soft reset solves this.
Cheers
