guys - i dont know how many of you are using exchange 2007 with your wm6.1 roms. my office IT requirement is WM6.1 on its phones to support email download via exchange server. on wm6.0 my phone just doesnt connect to the server. i upgraded the rom to 6.1 normal and it connects and asks me to setup my password for encryption. As soon as i do that activesync cannot get any more data from the server.
i have tried both lite and normal roms but am facing the same problem? Are there any other cooked roms out there i could try or alternately any solution from the chefs for these roms which could provide a solution?
cooked rom can't sync with exchange 2007 due to missing some components in ... use official rom if you can
yeah thats the point. i wanted to see if one of the chefs could cook that stuff in. considering its not a problem in other phones. ive been using a tytn ii and using those roms with exchange 07 without any issues. hermes porting should be simple no?
oh and no i cant use an original rom because IT doesnt support wm6.0

With all of the concerns over electronic devices and air travel, I'm starting to consider a blackberry device. However, I love my Cingular 8125. I've read in other forums that it's feasible to get blackberry software to run on a Wizard. It would be great if a ROM could be developed for Cingular that allows for the use of Blackberry software.
Still no way to run Blackberry on an 8125 - But here's a question - Are you already getting email on your 8125 (e.g., with Direct Push)? If so, how would having a Blackberry client help??
I need the blackberry for work. Otherwise, I would use the push e-mail solutions that exist out there.
There is a separate post on this (Blackberry Connect on Wizard).
It should work now (both AKU1 and AKU 2 roms)
I was able to install the Vodaphone Blackberry software using my existing Cingular ROM. I had failed before using the T-Mobile Blackberry software. Now all I have to do is get it configured to work. One step at a time.
If you install the proper rom and BB Connect client, you can get the BB Connect to work on the 8125, but not using Cingular as a carrier, only T-Mobile since supposedly the gateway is hard-coded in the client to point to T-Mobile.

You do not have to change to T-Mo. BB connect on 8125 should work with Cingular network. I just installed BB Connect 2.1.2.16 onto my 8125 with 2.17 ROM, simply put official Cingular SIM with unlimited BB plan, and it immediately started receiving BB mails. I only tried BIS but not BES, though.
I'm still waiting to get my e-mail account set up on our corporate blackberry system to try this out on my 8125. All of the preliminary installation and setup work seems to have worked so far, but until I get this turned on I won't be able to validate this. The reason that I originally posted this was that I couldn't even get the software to install when I tried the T-mobile version. After checking out the blackberry message on the Wizard forum, I found the link to the Vodaphone software and it installed the first time.

Whats the difference in the operating system between the tilt and the tytn II? Which one do you prefer? And Why!!
I just got my tilt and im curious
It depends on if your talking about stock ROMs or cooked ROMs. On stock ROMS the ATT ROM is packed with bloatware whereas the HTC ROM doesn't have all the useless trialware.
Now on HTC ROMs there is not that much in difference I've found except for one annoying thing I have not been able to pin down to why it happens. I've noticed when using different HTC ROMs on my Tilt I have problems with Over-the-Air (OTA) Activesync staying connected to Exchange servers with Direct Push. It will sync but if I go back and check it after a period of time the activesync screen shows disconnected with a last sync date/time and I have to manually initiate the sync process again (constantly).
However I do not have that problem with any of the Tilt ROMs. The OTA Activesync always stays connected as it should when connected to an Exchange server with Direct Push. I never have to manually go in and re-sync like I do with the HTC ROMs.
So I'd like to flash a cooked ROM on to my Tilt, but I'd like to keep the functionality of BlackBerry Connect for work, which ROM will do this? My other concern is that I hear there is a way to hack the phone that will let me have BBC and MediaNet running at the same time as necessary, the whole disconnect this to get to that and vice versa has been my main annoyance with BBC because I can't get my IMAP mail when BBC is running.
I have run Blackberry Connect successfully with every ROM I've flashed. Specifically
Dutty's 04/29
L26 v4
currently Death v3
You have to edit the registry setting for aku to .0.4.2
also , most ROMs will turn on the screen when receiving an email... which drains the batery....the L26 ROM does not, however, it has issues holding connectivity to all AT&T settings and I gave up on it.
The Death v3 ROM is what I'm running now - it's very fast and does not crash on me...but it does suffer from 'screen on when email receipt"

From what I've been able to determine, this is a fault of BBC rather than the ROM. I went backwards one step and don't have that problem any more. I really didn't see a difference between the 2 BBC versions except the dreaded screen on email receipt.

Sounds good, I usually read the emails as they arrive since I work in IT so I'll think of it as an accidental blessing. But what about multiple data connections. Having to suspend BBC has been getting on my nerves for a while now. :/
No one has answer?

WM6.1 allows muliple simultaneous data connections. This is nice when you have BBC running and another app like Weather Panel that relies on internet updates.
u have to flash a rom that has the modification made in the provisioning xml document. it is not cuz of wm6.1 but rather the change for vpns has to be cooked in.
search the rom dev forum.
Death v3.5, and Dutty's 04/29 all do simultaneous data for me Laurentius L26 v4 did also but it was very flaky .. lots of "answering modem has disconnected" type messages I gave up on it

OK, so then I could just download my cooked ROM of choice and make that edit before I flash my Tilt? Sounds simple enough. Thanks!
Thanks for everyone's help. I loaded up Death's 3.5 and it's working as I hoped. 2 simultaneous connections and it seems to be working great!
Twinpeaks, my device doesn't turn on when I get mail, so maybe I'm lucky?
Because my company will not allow me to sync with Exchange my only option to get email is either use a real Blackberry or use BB Connect on my TyTNII.
I have tried it on the stock 6.0 ROM, official 6.1, most cooked 6.1 roms and the phone works well untill I add BB Connect, the screen touches are slow and the phone will lag.
Anyone else had this problem and are there any tweaks you might suggest to speed things up a little?

I had the same problem with the stock ROM. I'm running in L26 v9 right now and it works pretty well. I also upgraded to BB connect 4.0.0.100 which works better than the .97 version which locked up constantly. Also, the 6.1 HSPDA are great, because you can get the phone to connect to both blackberry and media.net at the same time. So you don't constantly get the blackberry radio blocked problem.
the only problem I'm having now, is the BB connect throws off the landscape display on the L26 rom.
Hope this helps!

I am using 4.0.0.84, I got this from HTC's site. I've looked on Sems.org and didn't see .100. If you don't mind can you tell me where you got it?
One more thing if you soft reset do you get read messages showing up as unread after the reset?
Good Morning All,
I am in need of help/support.
I have a AT&T Tilt, I have run through several ROMs (all WinMo 6.5). When I go to setup an activesync relationship to Exchange for my work mail, it connects. It then applies our PIN policy for locking your screen. But then Activesync tries to get my mail, contacts, and calendar items....but it fails. I have tried multiple things on my company's IT side. They say that there is no problem.
To further investigate, I flashed back to the stock WinMo 6.1 ROM from the HTC website. Activesync works like a charm.
So my question is, if I want to sync with my work email, am I doomed to a WinMo 6.1 ROM?
Does Exchange 2010 recognize that an AT&T Tilt is not supposed to have WinMo 6.5, or is it maybe a certificate issue?
Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
Moved as not ROM Development.
I found a fix. Hopefully this helps other people out too.
