I need some advice on how to get my web and MMS working on my diamond. I originally bought a new Sprint Diamond. I took it to Metro PCS and had it flashed to their network. Now my voice and text work. So I'm trying to get my web and MMS working. I changed my ROM to Juicy 4.3 and tried following a tutorial found here:
Code:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=448955
I tried everything exactly like it said there, and it is not working. Here is my exact settings and changes that I made:
1: Check your Windows\startup folder for "HTC_CM_Guardian.lnk", which is a shortcut to Windows\HTC_CM_Guardian.exe. If the shortcut exists delete it. If not then you probably have a newer Sprint ROM which doesn't have the shortcut to launch that application. It is still launching it in some other way however and I have not been able to figure it out from searching forums and the web. The general consensus is to replace the file with a dummy file that I've attached (extract from the zip). Download the attached file and replace "Windows\HTC_CM_Guardian.exe" with the dummy file which will prevent it from running.
I checked my windows folder, but I'm using Juicy 4.3 and I think that this file is not included in the ROM. In any case, it is not there.
2: Rename the following files and folders:
Windows\iota.exe ---> windows\iotaOLD.exe
Windows\iotaconf.txt ---> windows\iotaconfgOLD.txt
Program Files\IOTA ---> Program Files\IOTAOLD
Once again, these files are not in my windows folder. I'm not sure what effect these files have on my connection, but I was unable to edit them.
3: Open your phone and enter ##778#, select "EDIT" and enter your unlock code.
I did this with no problem. My unlock code was just 000000.
4: Set the following values:
M.IP Settings:
MIP_MODE = Simple IP Only
M.IP Default Profile:
NAI = [email protected]
Home Address = 0.0.0.0 (just delete the values and save)
Primary HA Address = 0.0.0.0 (just delete the values and save)
Secondary HA Address = 0.0.0.0 (just delete the values and save)
Security:
HDR AN AUTH User Id = [email protected]
PPP USER ID = [email protected]
PPP PASSWORD = metropcs
My number is 972-781-8284, so I used the following:
M.IP Settings:
MIP_MODE = Simple IP Only
M.IP Default Profile:
NAI = 9[email protected]
Home Address = 0.0.0.0 (set to 0.0.0.0)
Primary HA Address = 0.0.0.0 (set to 0.0.0.0)
Secondary HA Address = 0.0.0.0 (set to 0.0.0.0)
Security:
HDR AN AUTH User Id = [email protected]
PPP USER ID = [email protected]
PPP PASSWORD = set to metropcs
5: Goto Connections and delete any existing connections and setup a new one using the following settings:
Number to dial = #777
Username: [email protected]
Password: metropcs
Domain: (Leave Blank)
Select Proxy Settings and enter the following values:
wap.metropcs.net port:3128 (http)
wap.metropcs.net port:3128 (wap)
wap.metropcs.net port:443 (secure wap)
wap.metropcs.net port:3128 (socks)
I changed my settings to this:
Number to dial = #777
Username: [email protected]
Password: metropcs
Domain: (Left Blank)
I set my proxies to the following values:
wap.metropcs.net port:3128 (http)
wap.metropcs.net port:3128 (wap)
wap.metropcs.net port:443 (secure wap)
wap.metropcs.net port:3128 (socks)
So I click on the new connection and select the "Connect" option. It tries to connect and then it says that my username and password is wrong for #777. I try to go on the web and it won't connect. Also, when I go back and look at the connection, it deletes what I entered for the http option in the proxy settings. The other 3 settings are still there (wap, secure wap, and socks).
I'm not sure what else to try. I used the *228 option and updated my PRL firmware. It still doesn't let me connect. Please help!!!
Ok, I've got an update. I was able to connect to the web last night by changing the password in the tutorial to "mymetropcs". I changed it in the connection settings and also in the PP Security Settings.
Here is my current problem... My connection won't stay connected. It will sometimes connect for a little while, and then spontaneously disconnect. Most of the time, it won't connect at all. It gives me an error and says that my username or password is invalid. Also, It will sometimes delete my HTML Proxy settings that I entered in Connections. Does anyone know what is causing this and how I can fix it?
Confirmed
Followed all the steps and works perfectly ...
The only difference I had was my password and I used the last 4 numbers of my cell.
Thanks for the info.

Hey Guys,
I got internet working on PIE and google maps, etc, but for some reason Skyfire shows "network unavailable". I've tried swiching work network to the metropcs connection for programs that authenticate using a private network, but not go. Any ideas? Thanks.

Hi, I'm on the same network and on the Text and Web simplicity tariff. Here is what I did. The Windows mobile version I'm using is wm6.5.x, with the start menu at the bottom left.
To enter the settings first click "start", then click "setting", then "connections".
First click manage existing connections, and delete the modem connection specified in here. (Not required but advised) As this is configured by the device and the setting are incorrect.
Next go back a step. Then click add new modem connection.
“Select a Modem” should be set for “Cellular Line (GPRS)” or “Cellular Line GPRS/3G”
Now click “Next” to start inputting the operator specific settings.
Name the connection: O2 (PAYG)
Access Point Name (PAYG): payandgo.o2.co.uk
Username (PAYG) payandgo
Password: password
Tap “Advanced” and make sure both tabs have selected “Use Server Assigned IP Address”
Tap “Finish” then Tap “Proxy Settings”.
Select “This network connects to the Internet” and “ This network connects to a proxy server…”
Tap “Advanced” then WAP. Server address is: 193.113.200.195: Port 9201. Tap OK
Tap Socks: Server is 193.113.200.195: Port 1080. Type: Socks 4.
I can confirm these settings work as I use the internet everyday on my Touch Pro. Hope this helps. If you struggle pm me.
Hello sb.oddworld,

"Torrent Buddy is a client application which run on windows phone and communicate with your uTorrent client/webserver running on your PC. This is pretty handy to look at the status of your torrents and control them as needed. What’s unique about Torrent Buddy compared to other apps on market place is that it lets you add new torrents from any website and RSS feeds. Not only that, it also allows you to add torrent from sites which require authentication by adding your own cookie information."
The Trial version will support everything except adding new torrents
you can get it from the market place.
I am nothing to do with this app It just taken me ages to get it set up so thought I would help in case anyone else needed it
OK so I thought I would write up a little tutorial on how to set this app up, as the only info i could find was on this site(the creates of the app)
OK so I found the easiest way of doing this guys was like this (my pc is connected via wifi)
1.give yourself a static ip=
start>control panel>network connections>right click you’re wireless connection>properties>
2.on the General Tab there is a box you can scroll down to, got to Internet protocol(TCP/IP)click on it and click properties
3.use the following IP Address example
IP. = 192.168.1.3
subnet = 255.255.255.0
Deafult gateway = (mine was) 192.168.1.1
DNS server (mine was) 192.168.1.1
click ok to save then ok
4. log in to you’re router(mine is Netgear so 192.168.1.1)
5.go to port forwarding
6.create new port forward
Service Name = Torrent Buddy
Service Type = TCP/UDP
Starting Port = chose a port
Ending Port = chose a port
Server IP Address (you’re static address)
save and log out you’re router
7.uTorrent setup – In uTorrent, go to options->Preferences->Web UI, Select “Enable Web UI” check mark. Enter a username and password and keep not of the connectivity port. This is what you will need to connect from torrent buddy (Select the check box and enter the port you chose for port forwarding).
Go to http://portforward.com/ and it will show you you’re IP.
fire up torrent buddy and open connections menu
9.Friendly name = whatever you want
Server name = http://yourIP:the port you chose
username = the same you chose for the settings in Utorrent
Password = as above
save
10.click the connection you created and press the tick box if you did everything ok then it should go back to the main screen and connect and then you can watch you’re torrents.
Hope this helps
请问一下具体怎么设置? 为什么我的总是提示登陆失败? 有图片教程?

I am in the UK on vacation, and just tried to check my yahoo mail. It would not connect to the server, so I deleted the account and tried to add it again, using the same set up I had before (I wrote down all the settings). That didn't work, so I went online and looked at other problems posted - and I tried all combinations of settings, from imap.mail.yahoo.com, port 993, ssl, to smtp.mail.yahoo.com, port 465 to 143, to android.imap.mail.yahoo.com to android.smtp.mail.yahoo.com and NOTHING works, all I get is "unable to open connection to the server."
Would this have anything to do with me going overseas to the UK from the US? I wouldn't have thought so, but I cannot figure this out.
I'm using the IMAP option, putting in my [email protected], my password, and all the manual settings (automatic didn't work either) - help someone please? Please note, I am rooted with Gingerbread.
type email address then password > go to manual setup > IMAP
Incoming Server Settings
Username = [email protected]
Pw = xxxx
IMAP server = “imap.mail.yahoo.com”
port = 143
Security type = none
IMAP Path prefix = none/blank
Outgoing Server Settings
SMTP Server = “smtp.mobile.mail.yahoo.com”
port = 587
security type = none
require sign-in = yes/checked
username = [email protected]
pw = xxxx
After that select w/e options you want for inbox checking frequency, a name for the account, and then the name you want for..something I don't remember. I set it up a minute ago using these settings and it loaded up fine.
If you're having problems, try connecting to wifi and doing this again.
If that doesn't work OP you could always try the official yahoo mail app that's out on the market - (market link)
Edit: I'm running a CM7/Gingerbread equivalent ROM as well
Sent from my Android using Tapatalk
Still doesn't work (yahoo email)
I tried all these settings, but can't get past the incoming server setting - tells me unable to open server connection. I know there's no problem with that, as my gmail emails are coming in just fine - and I don't really want to have the actual yahoo application on my phone, not unless I absolutely have to.
Finally got it to work
After trying everything, in desperation I took out the @yahoo.com and just put the first part of the name in as user name, and then pressed "next" so that it would do it automatically (although I'd tried many times before) and immediately it worked. I checked the settings, and this is now what it has:
INCOMING:
android.imap.mail.yahoo.com
port 993
SSL
OUTGOING
android.smtp.mail.yahoo.com
port 465
ssl
don't know what happened, or why this wouldn't work for over a week, and I've been trying every day. Anyway, it works now, and thank you to everyone who helped!
I copied and posted my original post via the nexus thread. i thought i'd repost it here since i'm guessing some of the other note users may have done this too. Any help would greatly be appreciated. Please note that I got the app to work with my stock rooted rom. Now i'm just trying to get it to work on any wifi network as opposed to just my home wifi network.

1. Install CopSSH for Windows from here:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/sere...r.zip/download
2. Extract the .exe file from .zip file and run the setup. During the setup, you will be prompted for a username and password, make sure you specify this and make it something you can remember (you will need it later).
3. Activate a user by going to Start->All Programs->CopSSH->1. Activate a User. Select the user you just setup in step 2.
4. Type in and confirm a passphrase (make sure you remember this). Then click activate.
5. Now you need to allow an port exception through your Windows Firewall. Standard SSH port is port 22, so that's what I used. You can do this by going to your control panel, selecting Windows Firewall, and click "allow a program through Windows Firewall."
6. Select Add port...name it SSH and enter port 22.
7. Click change scope...and make sure the radio button that says "Any computer (including those on the Internet) is selected. Click OK.
8. Now we need to setup port-forwarding to your router. To do this you need to know how to access your router, your WAN IP address, and your LAN IP Address assigned by your router.
9. To find out your LAN IP address, open a command prompt and type in "ipconfig -all". Typically, it will begin with 192.168 unless you have modified your LAN settings. To find your WAN IP address settings, google "what is my IP address?" There are a number of sites that can tell you that.
10. To access your router, you need to find it's IP address, which is usually 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1; you will know by entering one of those addresses in your browser and it will prompt you for your login info. If you don't know your user name and password, I can't help you there but Google may be able to (try to look-up the default username and password for your router model).
11. Once logged in, find your "virtual server" or "port forwarding" settings, specify port 22 - 22 for the start and end range, and route it to the LAN IP address you found in step 9. Save your settings and exit your browser.
12. If you've made it this far, your SSH service and port forwarding settings are done; now you just need to log into it. Download SSH Tunnel from the Google Play Store.
13. When you open it up, it will ask you for a number of settings. I have listed them below and what you need to enter in each textbox:
- Host Name: Enter your WAN IP address that you discovered in step 9.
- Port: Enter "22"
- Username: Enter your username you specified in CopSSH
- Password: Enter your password you specified in CopSSH
14. Make sure the following options are checked:
- Use socks proxy
- Global proxy
15. That's it! Now scroll to the top of the app and check the first checkbox labeled "tunnel switch" and it should connect you.
Please keep in mind that you need to be logged into a wifi connection, but it doesn't have to be your home wifi connection!
DON'T forget the thanks button!
Lkrfn5283:Thank you for this post. I'm unsure what i'm doing wrong but i went over the instructions and made sure i did everything correctly, but it keeps saying "error: cannot connect to host" I'm using a tmobile galaxy note with a stock rooted ics rom. This write up should apply to any phone with an ics based rooted rom correct? any help would greatly be appreciated as i'm completely lost on what i did wrong.
*note: on step 11 it shows two areas where you can enter the IP address and start port/end port. One is labeled "internal" and the other is labeled "external". On the internal i input my WAN IP and ports starting and ending in 22. On the external I input the remote address and the local port/remote port as the starting and ending ports given by the sshtunnel app.
