Camera is blurry and slow,
the touch screen often locks up for a few seconds which is a hssle trying to touch in a number,
during phone calls the other person other line hears my voice go real low, I just push a button so black light goes back on on the phone and they can hear me again.
No sure what to do

First of all, you should post in the appropriate thread. i.e. the same thread where you downloaded the rom at and secondly, did you try and do a hard reset?
I used 2 different roms and issue got a bit better with lag on the dragon rom but still not fixed, wasn't sure if it was the rom to begin with. Yes I just did a hard reset and still issues
change your SPL...
i would guess that you did not completely read the kaiser wiki (first link in my signature) or the noob ROM flashing guide (created by mskip) or the HyperDragon FAQs (created and maintained by mskip)...
seeing as how you've mentioned all the details about your phone EXCEPT the SPL version, i imagine you don't know the importance of matching your SPL version with your ROM
strange radio behavior, laggy camera, and screen unresponsiveness are ALL CLASSIC signs of a mismatched SPL (you are experiencing all three)
see my signature for the link to cmonex HardSPL 3.29 (recommended by SJ, the creator of the HyperDragon ROMs) and read the instructions thoroughly. also, i would suggest reading the topics mentioned in the first sentence of this post in exactly that order to fill in the rest of the gaps and most other possible issues you might encounter

First of all, I am a complete newbie and needs directions from experienced.
Bought AT&T Tilt on eBay and this is my very 1st smart phone of any sort.
It came with Schaps 4.30 Rom.
I have 3 questions.
1. Where do I start as far as cooked Rom is concerned ?
I've started reading Kaiser and AT&T specific wiki but not sure if I should
try and upgrade. I see there are other variants for WM6 and WM6.1 but I
don't even know how bad is the stock one.
Is there comparision/bench marks for different Roms ?
Btw, I won't be using any internet-related program for next 6 months.
Assuming I stick to Schaps 4.3 Rom for while, I have 2 issues.
2. Whenever I go to Setting->System->Screen->Align, the phone freezes
and only way out of it is to soft reset.
All buttons don't work and the screen doesn't respond to tabbing.
What is wrong ?
4. Alarm clock. I have been using my old mobile phone to wake me up every
morning. It's loud and continuous until I press stop or snoop in which case
it goes off again in 5 mins or so.
However, the one in Setting/Clock in Kaiser is no way near annoying.
Its volume is very low and all the alarm sounds that I can choose are too
friendly to wake me up.
Is there a better alarm program out there ?
Any advice/tip appreciated.

Some of your problems sound like the could be related to YOUR device specifially. Look up all the "newbie" guides to flashing in the search section. (top right...lower...lower..there it is.) Try changing your rom. I use mostly Alex's and dutty's stuff. They're dummy proof.
well it all depends if u want to flash ur phone to another rom..no one else is gonna make that decision for u...just make sure if u do read all the wikis...ALL of them and make sure u have a good understand of it...make sure u read other wikis relating to it as well...

I see the thread is closed. I was in the process of replying when it must have been closed. I think you might have some hardware problems from what you describe. I would NOT flash a new ROM until you try to pin down the cause of the lack of screen response and buttons not working. These two problems can be associated with a loose d-pad connector or ribbon connector.
This depends on which buttons are not responding.
If you flash with a broken digitizer then you will face problems when you come to thw automatic alignment screen following the flash. To flash would be a gamble. It could solve your problems BUT it could mean you cannot get past the alignment settings screen.

I have HyperDragon III ROM (the 1st rom I installed after buying MDA Vario III), radio 1.71.09.01. Sometimes touch screen works perfectly, no matter if I use stylus or finger. However, sometimes it reacts too slow (2-10 seconds delay) and needs harder pressure.
Above is valid for keyboard, sometimes it reacts light fast, but sometimes I had to keep button pushed for 1-2 seconds to make letter appear on screen.
I had this problem with default T-mobile ROM with 1.65.24.36 radio, also with HyperDragonIII with 1.65.24.36 radio.
I know how to change ROM and Radio. However, I never played with SPL. I think guy who sold me the phone changed HardSPL (obviously, since I can change ROMs).
Can wrong HardSPL make described problems? Is there a combination that will make Kaiser extra stable?
It's frustrating when I need 5 minutes to write a SMS, while guy next to me finish it in 10 seconds with his Nokia N70 (4X cheaper).

To simplify my question: Will change of the SPL solve my problem. If it's not related to my problem, I would rather not touch it.

Probably.
HD III is a WM6.1 ROM. For the best results with the 6.1 ROM's you should be using the 3.* versions of Hard SPL.

Check the fifth sticky in the kaiser rom development for changing your spl, I'd be willing to bet thats your problem. Also check the rom thread to see which spl the author recommends using for his/her respective rom.
Welcome to xda, in the future please try to search/browse (this is a problem that has been discussed many times before) and #2 post questions in an existing thread (in your case the hyperdragon thread)
Works significantly better with 3.29. Sorry for my dumb post, I am reading this forum for months (although it's my first post). SPL themes sounds too complicated to me so I didn't want to touch (until I am 100% sure that would help).

I'm new to posting on this forum so please go ease on me I've been reading the forums for quite some time now, since i have my wizard (back in June i think). That is when i unlocked and flashed my Wizard with a WM6.1 rom. And this was succesfully, i'm very happy with it and never had any problems, hooray!
So far so good, but this all changed untill recently. Some weeks ago, my Wizard started acting funny, it kept rebooting at random moments. It's not in a loop or something, it just reboots on random moments. In calls, in games, in the menu, just random.
Now i know this is not a software problem, since i never changed any software after flashing and i also have these random reboots when in bootloader....
Can anybody help me with this?
I should also note that i suspect my battery, since it looks old, slightly bulged out but most importantly, my battery life is normal when not calling, but after a call the battery can be drained from 100% to 30% with just one short phone cal..
/edit: Just had another reboot, this time i looked at the battery meter....It was full when i turned on the phone, and now it says my battery is empty...Now i really suspect the battery Just want to rule out anything else
I had similar issues - and the battery was the culprit. Get a new battery, your troubles should go away

My friends complain a lot about my not picking up my phone or reading text messages, and when i check my Wizard the calls are not there.....and a lot of people calling me get my voicemail directly when calling me, that shouldn't happen :/ All this when i have full reception :S Could this also have something to do with the battery? My guess is not but i sure hope so, that would solve two problems at once

Those are more than likely software related issues. Can be the rom itself, or the radio version you are using.
Which WM 6.1 did you flash, can you provide some details as to IPL/SPL - radio version, etc ??
For instance, my IPL / SPL is 2.26
My radio version is 2.26 also
Had a very similar experience to yours myself. A new battery fixed the problem. I dunno about that bulging battery of yours... sounds a bit ominous.

Erm let's see, i also flashed the IPL/SPL and radio software after the romflash, IPL/SPL is now 3.08 and GSM (radio?) is now 02.25.11. I think it used ti be 2.26 before flashing. As for the rom, i can't remember. I took some time and went through the threads for the Dutch Beta, but am limited by my language. I flash english versions only - so not much help I am afraid.
I would recommend you post your dropped and missed call issue directly into the rom you identified above - others may be having - or had similar issues and a quick easy fix is available.
But in the end - you need a battery for sure

Okay, just ordered a brand new battery today wich should arrive tomorrow by mail When my Wizard proves to be stable i will flash a new ROM and see if that fixes that problem as well Many thanks for your help
P.S: I'm looking for a battery cover and a stylus, since my battery cover is missing one hook (so it won't close perfectly) and i never had a stylus since i bought my Wizard from a friend, who lost it
Hey Johrizz,
You should be able to find a stylus and battery door on google shopping and / or ebay. I just ordered a pack of stylus's for a couple bucks and a dollar for shipping. I've seen battery door's for sale for about 8-10 dollars... Just make sure to notice the shipping charges LOL.
I don't know if it's really required but here's what I tend to do with a new battery and have had good success.
1) for the first charge (and anytime I'm going to flash a new ROM) charge it fully (till the light is green and not orange) with the AC charger and not the USB / computer cable.
2) flash a stock operator rom and test it for a day or so to make sure the Wizard doesn't have some other hardware problem, weird battery drainage, etc.
3) Once you're sure that your Wizard is stable and FULLY CHARGED Flash your favorite ROM

I am using Energy WM6.1 rom, so I want to try other one, Energy WM6.5 or other. After I flashed it I got green screen, bad picture, but everything else is working good. I tried several roms , same thing.Then I flashed back to Energy 6.1, picture good, all colors. Strange problem. Can I fix it???

Read this. You need to change your SPL. You can go either the HSPL or USPL route.

Occassionally (more often than not) my keyboard, button keys and touch screen are unresponsive, where I need to hold down the key, or press it multiple times for it to register.
I tried searching but wasn't sure what keywords to search for. Has anyone else had this issue, or know where I can find the info to resolve it?

Go into bootloader to find Hard-SPL i imagine you using 3.29 if you used the noob guide to flash and not upgraded since.
You can get into Bootloader by pressing camera button holding in for 2-3 sec and placing the stylus in the reset hole.
The way to find out if hardware would be to flash Stock ROM that is in the WIKI, if fine then may be worth updating to 3.34 then flashing custom ROM.
got the same problem. i think its an problem with my carrier. it seems, that my kaiser are trying to connect to an better antenna. those search tasks slow your kaiser down. you can try it by disabeling your cell phone function.
second to that, the carrier, i got the same problem, but just happend when the cell phone radio of my kaiser its on!!! i see this problem in a HP IPAQ 6XXX and in a TYTN 1 too, help plz its a horrible lag! i am tring to tweak some phone funtions with the registry, regards
Maybe should flash a new radio, check the wiki for 'how to'.
Or the ultimate radio thread. I also suggest everybody to read the wiki and the 'sticky's, sticky was set for a reason.
