Start Menu Bar Glitch - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

I am running Sleuth 3.0 with WM6.1 and have been for awhile with no problems.
I recently have added SPB Mobile Shell along with some other SPB apps. SPB is working fine, but my start menu bar on my main screen (not in SPB) has a glitch in it now..
The service indicator is half-gone (the antenna/first bar is half showing, none of the other bars show, so I cant tell how much service I have) and also the battery indicator is missing. Its just gone and its the color of the start menu bar.
Any ideas on how to fix it? It's not the SPB Shell thats causing it because it was working after that, I'm not sure exactly when this happened. I've tried applying different themes etc, but its still messed up.
Thanks so much in advance!

no one? this is so annoying

Click to collapse
I don't know about the service indicator, but for the battery try checking this key:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\ShowTitleBarClock
It should be 0 which would enable the battery icon to show up.
I have no idea if it's a Sleuth issue, I've never run any custom roms.

Half of reception icon and volume icon missing.

I just got my Kaiser today finally, and all of the sudden half of the reception icon at the top disappeared and all of the volume icon disappeared. Occasionally all of the reception icon will reappear but the volume icon doesn't, not even after a soft reset. I can still tap the location of where the volume icon is supposed to be and adjust the volume. Anyone know what could be causing that?
One more question, at first I thought it was the x-button overlapping the icons so I removed it from the start bar. Does anyone know how to get it back? - Nevermind, I turned it back on in the registry. Should have thought of that to begin with.
Here's a pic of the missing icons.
I have the same bizarre problem all of a sudden - were you able to resolve this issue?
Anyone? This is driving me nuts! I know the last thing that I did was to use CeRegistry Editor to fix/modify the Windows Media Player not playing fullscreen landscape issue! I've since changed back but my volume icon and half of my reception icon still missing!
Please help...
I had this problem once and I seem to recall using KaiserTweak to change the battery / time display, and/or changing the time control panel for displaying time on task bar.
Unfortunately, I can't recall the exact steps... Hope this helps.
Ah success! Thank you Alex! I used the Kaiser tweak to change my settings for 'Title Bar - Battery/Clock' to "Battery" and 'Title Bar - Clock Settings' to "Nothing". Not exactly sure what it was set to before but did a Soft Reset and all is back to normal! I'm still not sure what changed things in the first place but I'm happy now. Thanks again Alex!
It helped me too! Ty Alex!

How to remove/hide Emoze tray icon ?

Hi,
I recently got a Tilt. I have installed emoze on it and everything is working well. The only problem is that I cannot get rid of the emoze icon on the bottom right corner of the Today screen. I believe this is where all the Tray icons are put. This occupies space on the Today screen and causes the scroll bar to become active.
I could not find a setting inside emoze to disable this icon. I could not get any solution after searching online too. All I got was ways to remove the battery and wireless indicators.
So is there a way(reg setting etc) to remove the tray completely or to specifically remove the emoze icon ?
Thanks,
Hrishi
This is a great question. I have the same problem with a different app (Palringo) that sadly chooses to force a tray icon on its users.
There was an app that would supposedly hide the system tray (vjtoggletodayii alpha.), but, I can't get it working on my Tilt.
i tried that vjtoggle app, it did execute but it just removed the Top bar. and not the bottom Tray bar.
any other solutions ? I am getting frustrated with such a trivial thing, I cant believe that the Emoze guys did not include that option in the software.

Remove the battery/conn/sound icon from the top bar?

I'm trying to make the top bar less crowded with crap (Volume, Battery, Connection, Phone icons take a lot of space away!)
I'm using wktask and it would look a lot nicer to have a somewhat full task bar!
Thanks (I already searched and couldn't find anything)
bump anyone please?
Have you tried Kaisertweak?
In 'Today Screen' there are several options including some to disable icons in the top bar.
Hope this helps...
Good luck
Well, the only tool i can think of is wisbar advance. It can also replace wktask.
yeah wisbar costs money though. and it doesn't look that nice.
I just liked Wktasks idea of turning the top bar into a task bar like in regular windows editions.
Also: Nothing in KaiserTweak
I have a funky navigation bar. It shows the connection status (Edge/Wifi), radio bars (with edge/3g/analog), and volume next to the X/OK button, but no clock/battery. When looking at the Today screen, the volume icon is hidden, but touchable (takes getting use to). When looking at programs, I can see all 3 next to the X/OK. I'm not entirely sure which bit of tweaking accomplished this, but I did choose, in KaiserTweak, to show "Nothing" for Today Screen>Title Bar - Clock Settings, and "Battery" for Today Screen>Title Bar - Battery/Clock.
I also used an old WM5 tweak to show the clock as Analog through HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Shell\AnalogClock as DWORD, 1
And another, HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\ShowTitleBarClock as DWORD, 0 and HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\TBOpt as DWORD, 0
Also, ArielBattery can cover whichever of those you want (but clicking the battery icon shows memory usage only).
Doesn't seem to work for me. Ugh....thought it would be an easy fix too....

[Q]BatteryStatus in mA displayed in Manila?

Is here way to display battery drain in mA or mw within TF3D? On the home tab would be good or in the status bar. I can get BatteryStatus by ChiTai to display this info but only after disabling TF3D. On my kaiser I used to find the mA an excellent way to keep an eye on what was going on in the background with radios and data etc.
Because TF3D disables all other Today Plugins I don't tink it's possible at the moment.
Maybe it's a solution to install SecondToday from ChiTai too. You can use TF3D und Today Plugins like BatteryStatus side by side, easy to switch (TF3D <-> Today) and with Diamond like style.
Regards,
Purzel
Thanks Purzel I will give it a try. Shame they did not leave a spot within TF3D for plugins such as this to display.
I gave it a try as you suggested Purzel and the SecondToday and Battery Status combo worked. But really not ideal for me. I know there is already an application that shows % remaining overlaid on the status bar battery icon. What I have in mind is different.
Alternative status bar Battery Icon
Essentially the same Battery Icon that is there now with bars showing charge but with added feature of numerals showing mA drain. These numeral could either be overlayed on the icon or squeezed beneath it in tiny font.
The advantage of this arrangement is:
1) it would work with TF3D. This is because it would not be a today plugin. Simpy an alternative to the current battery icon on the Status bar.
2) Would enable user to always see charge remaining and current load.
I like the idea of always being able to see the load on my battery as often I have apps running in the background which are chewing through the battery. Conversely if the mA drain is low I know these apps cannot be running and all is good. Makes for an easy way to increase battery life.
I sent a message to ChiTai suggesting this as an idea for utility. However never heard anything back.
Essentially all the app would have to do is somehow ascertain current drain in mA and display it over the reaming battery bars on the icon. Nothing more. Be great if one of you clever programs could put this together. I reckon it would be popular.
Would any one else be interested in a replacement for the default status bar battery icon that worked like this?

Click on icons from top bar (connection, battery...) brings up fullscreen version

Sorry for the confusing title, but I don't have idea how to describe what I mean.
In the default rom, when I clicked on the top bar in tf3d where the icons with battery status, network status or appointment are, it brought up a fullscreen something (similar to volume screens) with big icons for battery status, network, appointment and so on. Than I tried a few versions of RomeOS, I don't know which versions had that working, but it doesn't work in current version. I think it's one of the cabs that can be downloaded for RomeOS, but I don't have idea which one is it.
Does anyone know?
Thank you.
There's a registry key that enables it i believe, not sure where though
Start -> Settings -> System Tab -> TouchFlo
Check box for showing system status.
Thanks, it would be great if someone knows which key it is.
JoeTheFro - thanks, when I was posting my post above, I didn't see yours. That worked, thanks again.
Ah my bad. I think I was referring to how you change from the classic volume control to the big HTC one. I remember now though
