Hi All,
If I open a contact in the contacts tab, there is no information in the Summary tab and the menu soft key doesn't work. It greys out but doesnt do anything. I can only access the contact information if I go into the Notes tab and then press menu then edit. Then I can see the details page and indeed edit.
I have tried Resco Contacts and other contacts programmes, but these take up valuable memory and seem to slow the system down.
Can anyone please help me.
Bump.... Any help please?

I know that this was addressed before, but after searching LITERALLY for about 30 minutes I cant find the registry edit needed to make the email tab in HTC Home default to Outlook (and not whatever the last previously used messaging program was). Any help with this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
bump, someone please reply
bumping..........
I recall this being discussed quite a bit in the Hermes forum, and my conclusion was that the email icon has a mind of it's own and is not controllable by any reg settings or xml file. On my Hermes, it would always open the last one I used, but on the Tilt (with a later build of HTC Home) I always get the 'select an account' screen.
no matter, use the hard button for messaging. easier to hit without the stylus anyway. just keep hitting the button to cycle through your messaging accounts.
while looking for something else, i stumbled on this tidbit...
When I press the Email button on the "Home" tab, it takes me to my MMS/SMS messages. How can I fix this?
This is a known issue with the HTC Home Plugin. The workaround is to create a POP account on your device, then press the Email button again. It should now take you to your email messages. You can then remove the POP account if unneeded.

Hello
I have 2 little questions that bug me a little bit and which i cant find a solution for (and yes i know where the search button is located ).
Situation 1
When im at the today screen (http://www.cryptex.be/tytn2.jpg) and i press the sms icon (the one in the middle under my clock), it goes directly to the inbox of my sms messages, which is great.
Now when i press the email messages icon (the one on the left under my clock), it doesnt go to the inbox of my emails (which i would like it to do). Instead it shows the menu SMS/MMS - Email example - "my emailaccount" - New email account. So i always have to press "my emailaccount" to go to my inbox. In the options menu i already disabled the option "show account chooser when opening messages" but then i always get redirected to the inbox of my SMS messages.
So in a nutshell, i would like it to go to the appropriate inbox when selecting the icons on the today screen:
- SMS inbox when i press sms icon (which already works)
- mail inbox when i press mail icon (which doesnt work atm)
then question nr2
When im calling the screen always, disables within like 10sec or less, which is very annoying when calling your voicemail and you have to press some numeric options. I always have to turn the screen on.
Maybe someone can point me how i can keep the screen enabled ?
I solved my problems now. By searching in the registry and then hitting the words in the seach option on this forum, i found a solution to both of my problems
I've made myself a little textfile where i keep my registry tweaks now
Its very hard to look for something on forums when you dont know what you actually are looking for, so for those who also want the solution for my 2 problems:
Code:
- Launch the e-mail inbox instead of the account chooser when clicking the mail icon
* Make sure the "E-Mail Sample" account is deleted out of your accounts.
* Make sure Outlook is set up to check your mail (only if using Outlook).
* Edit the registry key HKLM\Software\HTC\HTCHome\Home\AlwaysOpenMailFolder
from "1" to "0".

Code:
- Prevent Screen Going Off Durning a Call
* Edit the registry key HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL\EnableFastDormantDisplayDuringCall
from "1" to "0".

PS: my respect for all the people on the forum putting time and effort to make it possible to do all of this
I wonder if these tweaks could make their way into the next upgrade of Kaiser Tweak? I'm sure many people will find them both really useful.

Woops, I've just noticed my device doesn't have a Home folder under HTCHome.
I've done a search for "AlwaysOpenMailFolder" which I don't see to have anywhere else in the registry either.
Should I create the \Home\AlwaysOpenMailFolder key and then set the value? What sort of key is it (e.g. binary, string, dword)?
Many thanks
Rob F
Try this and see if that works

That seems to refer to the HTC Touch app, which I don't have installed.

Just a quick note of thanks for taking the time to document the solutions that you found. I see too many threads where someone tracks down their own fix but they don't take the time to share it for posterity.
I am looking for a solution to a problem. It may be something I have done or do not have a setting correct or something. When viewing my contacts, I cannot see ANY information on the summary screen. All of the information is there since I can make and receive calls with proper identifying. I just cannot see the information on the screen. It is completely white. I have searched the forums but cannot seem to find a similiar problem. Hence I think it might be a setting as opposed to a problem, but I am not sure. I am running Duttys WM6.1 ROm Build 19585.
do you see your contacts as a list in your contacts and when you tap on one the entire screen goes white?
I'm a bit confused, can you please clarify with more details.
i do see the list of contacts, when i select one, i am presented with the "tabbed" dialog with Summary and Notes. The summary tap is completely white. i do not see any of the details. The Notes tab shows the information correctly. thanks for the look fone_fanatic, any help would be appreciated!
Hi All,
Firstly, apologies if this is a duplicate thread, but i couldnt find the right answer after searching a lot...
I want to select all contacts in my contact list and send them via bluetooth/beam to my second handset (both windows based). But i cant seem to find a way to select all contacts and send them. SIM manager has the select all option in the menu but cant find the same in the phone cotact list.
Pleeeease help!
Maverick
In the contacts window, pop-up the standard keyboard (the black and white one) and hit Ctrl+A (like on a computer) and it should highlight all of them. As for sending them, I don't know if it will work.
I've searched high and low but cannot find a simple contacts list that has the call/send messages button next to the contact's name, or like the galaxy s way. Can someone help me?
