I'm hoping somebody here can help, because I'd hate to have to get rid of a device that I really love...
Used Helmi's WM6 (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index...angel_WM6_Home) to upgrade from WM2003SE and everything was working beautifully!
I was absolutely LOVING the new software until my device just stopped accepting the passcode that I had been using for 2 years. What I don't understand is I had to use the passcode a few times after the upgrade and all was fine. What could have happened for it to suddenly change by itself (because I know it wasn't me)?
Someone at the PocketPCAddicts forum suggested that I locate an original factory ROM to wipe out everything on the device and try again from scratch. I've searched the web looking for such a beast and can't find one (since the manufacturer/carrier no longer support it).
Can someone here help?

Just so you know, you are in the wrong thread. There's a whole section for WM6 for Blue Angels...
Anyway, what do you mean a passcode? Passcode for what? Reason i am asking is because I too have a SX66 (have had it for 3 years) and I have never seen it asking for a passcode (and I have flashed the bejesus out of it)
EDIT: the guy from PPCAddicts might be partially right, you may need to reflash your device, but you can do it with WM6. I don't think there is any need for you to go back to 2003
(Sorry about posting here. I thought a BA upgrade thread was the proper place. I apologize.)
It's a passcode that you can set to lock entry to your phone's funtions. Kind of like a parental control feature you would put on your cable box. It's just a simple 4-digit code that I set up when I bought the device and I have never had to change it. I will try to do a master reset again when I get home, since I'm back to using my SX56 for the time being.
Thanks very much for your quick reply. I'm so glad there are forums like this out there.

No problem and good luck
hi guys, I have my precious HTC touch diamond for a week now, and because of its beautifull shine, everyone wants to have one.
That's why i did some searching on the web about anti theft programs, and I found these 3
Ultimate Theft Alert v3
W.I.M.P.
Sprite Terminator
They all look pretty good, but before buying anything (or downloading ) I want to know wich one is best to pick, could you guys help me with that? also keep on mind that the program has to work on a VGA screen
Thanks, Markos Wahid
Tried three of them also and decided to (actually buy) sprite terminator with a coupon disc 50% (forgot where i got it thou), reason to buy:
- support
- price (very cheap!!!)
- easy to use
a program called mobile justice thats free and does the job, if you burn it in to a ROM before you flash the ROM to your device it will resist hardresets as well unlike most programs out there.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/mjustice/
not to mention a steel chain with a steel lock, one end at yr diamond, second one around yr neck
jokes aside, ultimate theft alert is the most popular.
i am sorry to see that the diamond in his actual configuration doesn't support the very slim chance that somebody will find it and be willing to return it, i am talking about OWNER INFORMATION!! gone in the invisible "today" screen
I need some advice to burn Ultimate theft alert to a ROM on diamond.
Is this possible?
^probably... check the developer forum..theyd be better at answering that...
i think the guy who makes ultimate theft also posts here...It seems the nicest.. the other alternative is sprite...the middle one doesnt look nice. i dont really know since i never had a wm device. im just saying from what ive read...
I tried to install Theft Alert but the instalation crashes...
Has anyone the same issue?

Settings --> Owner information --> Options --> "When the device is turned on, display: Identification Information"
Sprite terminator requires some additional editing. It says my GPS location is in China somewhere.
Ultimate Theft seems to work alright, but I havent tested it yet with the sims, which I'll do in a few minutes.
I like the ULT 3.5 better.
what i'll like to know is how to burn. the developer section have no guide on actual burning and takes for granted that we're rom cookers so i for one, understand nothing T.T

I agree. All these softwares are useless as most people would hard reset the device.... As far as cooking goes, I really want to get into doing this - I just need the 'beginner' tutorial, before the 'hardcore' tutorial..
Even the SPL must be protected against reflashing of the phone then. Is that possible?
So locking the SPL so no new SPL can be flashed either, and new ROM flashing is impossible then.
There are too many smart people who just fix that 'hot' phone with UTA or any program to original. And the thing you want is you phone back.

Well I do know that HardSPL has overwrite protection and you cannot flash a new SPL after you've installed it. Although there will be a 'downgrade' package soon so you can get back to stock SPL.
I don't understand why there isn't such a flash and/or hard reset protection...it's just very frustrating when you lose the device(like I did once) knowing the next 'owner' could simply hard reset (or flash a new ROM) to use it as his own device. I know, cooking some settings into a ROM solves a little piece, but more and more people are aware of XDA-dev and know about flashing. So you could cook your anti-theft into your ROM, but agianst flashing there is nothing u can do
Well, I thought, it should be possible to lock SPL flashing, by encrypting the bootloader by (my own) password?
On the moment one makes flashing without my password impossible, a antitheft program can be installed in the ROM and running always, even with hard-reset.
One should vind an easy way of providing MY sim card data into that rom prior to flashing.
Hi Folks,
But back to the topic, is there any anti-theft programs that really works in the first place for Diamond? I had tried Star Enforcer (it can't get the current IMSI number), Mobile Justice (it can't send out SMS) and RemoteTracker (can't run... I need to research more on this..).
Cheers.
mobile justice, did you install the certificate? most problems are as a result of that not being done, give me a PM if you want a hand and ill talk you through it, it does work well, but as already been mentioned all it takes for any software is a full flash, if you install many of the apps to the ROM before flashing it you can at least survive a hard reset.
Thanks Dazza,
I had missed installing the certificate.
But now, after some testing, I found out that it was only able to send out SMS unless I select "Disp.MsgBox".
Is this something expected? May be MJ needs to be re-rewritten or recompiled for WM6.1?
I'm aware of the hard reset issue. Am planning for myself to learn how to cook up a ROM, with my details in, to prevent this.
Cheers.
Tried UTA 3.5. and WIMP
Both can send out Text messages to designated telephone no.
But i thought UTA 3.5 could monitor the sms and phone calls going in or out of the phone. but it didnt seem to work. it crashed. and when you inserted a new sim it kept on asking whether i wanted to run the .exe file not very good.
Am testing out WIMP at the moment and seems to be ok.
but not alot of functionality if compared with UTA that is if UTA worked.
That would be a very good idea if you can input it into the ROM. but will you not have to mess with the registry to 'register' the product and keep your data.?
Well,
When I did a hard-reset last week, I observed that the device begins installing some software onto itself, just like it did when I first powered it up. May be we can cook up something into a cook ROM to do something identical? E.g. the settings required for MJ?
But then, I'm a noob at this stage (with a full time job and family). So, I'll have a very long way to go.
Cheers.
I ordered the Sprint Diamond today online and should have it by Tuesday. I'm a long-time Blackberry user, so I've never used Windows Mobile and have some questions on setting it up. Go easy on me, because I'm not an IT guy or anything. I'm sorry if these questions are listed on other threads, but maybe this will also help some others that are getting the Sprint Diamond and need help setting it up.
1) I want to be able to use most of the apps in landscape mode. I understand there is a download here that allows that. Is it a program or a cooked ROM? Will it work on the Sprint version? If so, is it easy to do and how do I do it?
2) Likewise, I want to set it up so it doesn't answer in my pocket. There have been threads on fixes for this on this site, but my head is spinning from trying to figure it all out. Did everybody come to a consensus on which fix is best? I think one used the acceloratometer and one disabled everything but the hard send and answer keys. And most importantly..will it work on the Sprint version?
3) I also hear that there is a problem with the touch screen remaining active during a call, and that your cheek can unwittingly press buttons on the touch screen. What do I do about this problem?
4) At the moment, I am not using an Exchange server. Short of setting up a hosted exchange solution, is there a way to get push email (maybe a solution like Blackberry Connect software and Sprint's BIS server)? I saw something about the GSM version including Blackberry Connect software, but I haven't seen anything on the Sprint website about it.
What other apps should I install to pimp my Diamond?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Does anyone have any answers to the question above?
Thanks
JPJP
1... GSEN or Advance Config and there is an option that will let you map the call button to where it can change the axis of the screen.
2.. Haven't had an issue with this thusfar
3.. Nope never had this issue in fact I'm looking for a way to keep the back light on as it always locks within a minute.
4...Pretty sure push mail works on this and have read people hacking and getting blackberry connect working on the diamond.
Hey everyone! Our company just signed up with AT&T and we got over 200 Tilts that I need to get ready to deploy. The reason we went with the Tilts is because we need WM 6.1, touch screen support (for signature capture), and GPS, and we ended up getting them all next to nothing rather than paying $1500 per device for something like a Symbol/Motorola MC70. Anyways, I am in need of advice... we're locking down close to all features of the phones except the ones we need via Microsoft's Mobile Device Manager (SCMDM) and I would like to get rid of ALL of AT&T's bloatware. I have noticed the soft-reset trick before the customization begins doesn't work on WM 6.1, once it boots back up it just starts the customization over again. I am not against flashing the device and putting a custom ROM on, overall here's what I'm looking for:
No bloatware
Faster operation
Optimized for battery life
Best ROM & Radio combo for a barebones deployment
Anyone have any recommendations for a solid deployment?
I appreciate everyone's time, thanks!
- Adam
EDIT: I was able to skip the bloatware, pressing the soft-reset button before the customization notification did the trick. Thanks for the heads up, Corpse and Hacker!
Just a thought!
Im sure youre going to get tons of responses. Find a rom that you like and ensure it has a lite version, these are usually the fastest most efficient roms. Go to spbsoftwarehouse.com, they have an excellent software that will make it easier for you to install the same options for multiple phones. Or you can look into Sashimi. Either way you would have to CID unlock every phone if you want to install rom and software/radio from the sd card. I personally would use the spb version, unlock one of the phones and use the spb clone program to clone all the phones.
Just a thought!
Hey Hawk, thanks for the response! So you're saying I can completely unlock one device, install a new ROM & Radio, clone it with that spb application, then restore it onto all the other devices right out of the box (without pre-unlocking them)? If so, that may just be the way to go!

The soft reset trick to remove the bloatware on wm 6.1 does work. I have a tilt with wm 6.1 w/o bloatware. Try soft resetting at different times. If I remember right, you reset as soon as you see the HTC Home screen.
Thanks Corpse, I'll have to play around with it a little more I guess!
- Adam
I just got the ATT Tilt last week. The soft-reset does work, but the timing is now different. Instead of doing it when you see the 3 second timer, you have to do it right when you see the home page, which is right BEFORE the 3 second warning screen appears.
3G, WiFi, and Bluetooth are the three major battery drainers. Installing something like Bandswitch would allow you to set those to deactivate after a certain period of inactivity.
Don't have much to say about radios though. It depends a lot on where you are and what is best for that area.
You may want to look at this thread and have something custom done,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=410975
P.M. the O.P. and see if he is willing to do the work for you..
Cook your own ROM and have it set the way you want.
Once you found your best ROM and settings, Sprite Clone could save you lots of work, here is the link: http://www.spritesoftware.com/?page_id=281. I am not using it but I use their excellent "Sprite Backup".
Greetings
I essentially just received my new Fuze (which I'm gathering is the at&t version of the Diamond) and upgraded to the new Rom. All is working well except I have a couple of questions
1. Where is the FM Radio application? I can't find it under programs or anywhere else.. am I missing something, as it supposedly was part of the ROM upgrade (which was successful)
2. Device lock.. Mine simple doesn't. I cant find any app to lock it, plus if I set the disconnect button (hangup..end..etc) to lock the device with a long button press.. nothing happens... I am completely unable to lock the device? Again am I missing something here?
3. On some applications, using Opera.. if I try to log in and there appears to be a java app to do the log in.. pressing sign in (after filling in the user id and pwd) doesn't do anything... It worked fine on my prior phone (a Samsung Epix ) and works fine on my pc?
Thanks for any help
Just to be clear, does your device have a qwerty keyboard?
Yes it does have a slide out qwerty keyboard..
I just realized that a device lock on this phone is unnecessary, so i take back that question.. .. stupid question on my part
