I don't need all 18 icons in the programs tab and was wondering if there was a way to remove some of them. Im really trying to simplify the layout of the phone and would like to have only 2 or 3 if possible. Advice or help?
bump for some help

Try Advance Configuration tool
You could edit your registry. First you have to go to the key [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\Manila\ProgramLauncher]. There you can delete all numbers exept 0, 1 and 2. It will look like in the picture that I've attached. You could backup the registry key before deleting all the icons you don't want to have.

With TF3D Config you can edit the program tab but it's totaly unnecessary doing it this way cause this also can be done at the program tab when clicking the remove softkey there. And at the end I guess both programs won't help yesteryear because you will still have 18 icons on the program tab and he only wants 2 or 3 icons. Only way to accomplish what he wants is the registry tweak I suggested.
Thanks for the replies Registry edit it is. Hope I'll be ok doing this. I have flashed new roms already so this should be fairly easy....I hope
Easier than I thought. I used CeRegistry Editor. Really nice to work from my desktop. Again, thanks

You're welcome. CeRegEditor is nice to work with.
Sure did work. Just a note for those who are thinking about doing this as well... I tried to use the 3, 4, 5 shortcut tabs only , meaning the middle row of shortcuts and it froze up Touchflo 3d. Couldn't load it properly I guess. For some reason the startup wants to see at least one icon in the first row. Does that make sense. By the way Im using

You only can hide the programs tab with TF3D Config. That's not what he wanted. He wanted less program icons on the programs tab.

At some point in the past few days HTC Home stopped displaying the Contacts/Favorites tab. I am (and have been) using HTC Home Customizer and I see Contacts as a choice on the Tabs setting and have selected (and de-selected several times) it but it still won't display the tab on the home screen.
I tried re-installing HTC Home but no joy...
Any and all thoughts and suggestions would be appreciated. I'm hoping someone can share their registry entries for HTC Home and/or Contacts?
Did you install one of the TouchFlo/Biotouch Cube installation cabs? They add a registry key that hides the contacts from HTCHome
^^^ If you did
i had the same problem and this worked

I did (unsuccessfully) and the registry tweak above fixed it.
Thank you all!!!!
Greg
ZILLA - thanks, couldn't remember the exact registry value off hand ... didn't have time to look it up at that point
gregeast - glad to hear that fixed it. Sorry you didn't get the cube working ... it's not an easy install at this point, but pretty cool when you do get it working.
Thank the lawd! It works! I've been searching and reinstalling for a week.
Nice thanks
Where do you find the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/OEM/MASD/QuickDial on the unit, have searched loads of directorys but couldn't find it to delete it?
Well sounds stupid, but you really looked in the Registry and not the File Structure? It is exactly there under MASD....

You have to use Regedit program and to search you have to search for QuickDial
not the whole thing. If you cant find a registry editing program, I think you are out of luck.
Hi,
I have a Treo 750v (Vodafone version) which like what it's box said it is meant for email solution, that's why the left soft menu of the Today screen menu is set to Email.
Anyone know how to change this?
Thanks, appriciate your share of knowledge!
I forgot the details but this i know as much
You have to download the register editor program. Search around the registry is all the same when it comes to changing soft key for all WM phones.
The only problem with the Treo 750 is when you change the softkey from email to something else it ends up adding an extra short cut. So in essence you are not overwriting that key, all you are doing is adding an extra feature on top of the existing email button.
Maybe someone had better success than I did can chime in
Using a registry editor, navigate to Hkey_Current_User/Software/Microsoft/Today/Keys/112
Change all 3 values to reflect your new function

It's all because Palm plugins - they overlay it. If you disable Active Call (or Dial Lookup?) you can have native-windows softkeys. It was all described in instructions how to ged back default dialpad.
i just downloaded the soft key changer that i found on here i think it was in the hermes section and copied it to my windows folder... after i did that it shows up in my settings and i can change both soft keys to what i want

anyone know how to remove useless TAB in TouchFlo 3D ?
anyone thanks
i would like to bump this because i am also interested in the topic
The tool in this thread can do exactly that
I tried this tool, and i manage to take the internet tab in TF3D off, but no way to put the "calls" tab... and i didn't manage to put the internet tab back... but perhaps i'm doing something wrong...
But if for sure you want to remove a tab, it worked.
Ciao

Is there any way around the program ... say editing a registry?
Diamond TF3D Config 0.6.7

I'm aware of the TF3D tool. For the most part, I'm able to edit my registry manually just as if I were to check and uncheck the options available on the tool. I'm stump as far as "removing" a TF3D tab. I'm a space conscious guy (granted however small the file may be) - I will only resort to downloading a program when I have exhausted all possibilities. I've spent hours going through the registry but still no go. Any help would be great!
from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=423647
- you can edit \windows\26948339_manila (i used total commander to edit)
- the tabs are listed like the calendar example you see there
- just remove the ones you don't want. you can also change the order. just make sure there's no gap between the numbers.
is there a way anyone can add more then the default 18 programs into the programs tab in tf3d
thanx guys
anyone????
Go to your registry: HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila\ProgrammLauncher\
There are entries from 0 to 17, you could add more but some ppl report problems with it!
k thank you
how do i add more entries???
What would be super-neat is if you could add a tab for each swipe, so a left swipe gave you another page, up swipe, down swipe and right swipe all gave their own page as well.
You could have office stuff-up, system stuff-down, fun stuff-right, media stuff-left or something. That'd rock.
No idea if thats possible though, I couldn't code my way out of a wet paper bag :>
Cheers for the tip, i'll try it.

That would be really great! Maybe someone can do this. I'm not familiar with programming for win mobile.
i would love for someone to answer my question!
I didn't figure out how to add them either, looked a bit complicated to me. If you could copy-paste-rename the entries already there it'd be easy but me reg-editer didn't allow me to do that.
same with mine :-( please someone help!!! with a link to a better reg editor
Not as easy though

Hi guys,
I just tested this , if you add new Keys (18/19 etc ) to the registry , tf3d will
display the additional empty slots , will allow you to select a program for them , but will not
save your changes ... i.e. these will always remain empty .....
Even if you change it from the registry and add a program in a new slot manually .... tf3d will ignore that
So there must be a different place ( or hardcoded in manila.exe ) which needs changing too
i dont understand what you are saying???

Huh , I didn't think my english was that bad
If you edit the registry and add Keys for additional buttons , TF3D will show them ( as empty ) but they will not work ... I.E. you can't assign any program to the buttons you added
So the registry hack alone is not enuff

Your english was perfectly fine
ok but may i ask what registry edit you used
Pretty self explanatory really. I just got the TP2 and when trying to rearrange/remove tabs from Touch Flo 3D I can't remove 'Telstra' 'Downloads' 'TV' or 'News and Sport' Also under the start menu I can't remove quite a few, such as 'Yellow (Pages)' 'Maps' 'Call1234' 'Apps' etc. There's about 10. The phone is unlocked and I've currently got my Virging sim card in so it looks stupid having all these telstra applications there.
Much appreciated.

With your registry editor of choice, navigate to the follow key and find the tabs you wish to disable.
\HKLM\SOFTWARE\HTC\Manila\Configuration\
Search for the folder with the number that's the page you want (i.e. PageName = Manila:/settings.page).
Change the DWORD value of "Enable" from 1 to 0.
Hey sorry I didn't understand a word you just said. I just got it and it's not hacked, I've installed a few cabs but besides that it's clean 6.1 windows mobile. Could you possibly gimme some step by steps.

I did give you all the steps. You need to navigate to the registry key I mentioned and make those changes. If you don't know how to edit the registry, then I would suggest becoming good friends with Google. It's very simple to do, but make sure you know where to look before tearing through the registry.
