i searched and could not find anything about this issue.
i'm stuck at the startup screen where it shows the radio, rom versions in the lower right corner.
soft reset returns it to the same place, and holding down the power does nothing. removing the battery does nothing. and i'm physically unable to do a hard reset. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=413976
what can i do? i have hardspl 1.40, new radio and flashed one of the roms here. it was working for a while, then i installed a bunch of cabs, and unsuccessfully tried to hard reset about 25 times (i had 2 internal storage folders for some reason and i wanted to clean it up), gave up on hard reset, did a a memory cleanup by settings-clean memory-1234 way, soft reset several times while reinstalling cabs again and now it gets stuck at the screen...
fixed by going into bootloader manually and flashing the same rom again. it works now. but i'm going with another rom.
all was fine, then i installed the touch diamond 2 keyboard and didn't like the one with the arrows so i uninstalled and this same problem came up again. the last i suspected that was the cause too so this is just so it's documented that uninstalling the TD 2 keyboards causes this problem.
hard reset and putting all my settings again, oh joy....

My TytnII freezes every time I turn on Bluetooth. The only way I can unfreeze it is by hard reset. Even after hard reset I can't turn on bluetooth without freezing the phone again. I have tried numerous ROMs but the problem remains. I would like to try uninstalling and reinstalling WM6. Can anyone tell me how to uninstall WM6?
Any other suggestions on how I can solve the Bluetooth problem would be most welcome. Thanks
By doing a hard reset you are reinstalling WM6. Are you installing any other apps that may be causing the problem.
I installed and removed some programs which caused my start menu to go funny.
Only way to solve this was a hard reset.
Press and hold the two soft keys with a - marked on them and then press the reset button on the bottom of the device with the stylus.
This will reset the whole device and you will loose all information, data, settings you have put onto or programmed into the device.#
I did this and left it as it should be out the box from the network

I think I cleared out everything before hard resetting. I used clear storage before the hard reset. I am sure I have hard reset correctly- using softkeys and reset hole-went to a white screen with blue print. I can only think that the version of WM6 in factory reset has become corrupted, hence my wish to uninstall. Thanks
Unlikely that your factory ROM got corrupted, but you can't UNINSTALL. You can only flash a the factory ROM again - do a search and you'll find the links to the factory ROMs for download. Better yet, flash to a cooked rom in the Upgrade forums, they're MUCH better!
Start > Settings > System > Remove Programs

I would say that if bluetooth locks your phone on different ROMS and after HARDRESET then its not a software issue as you have killed the software by installing ROMS and Hard Reset..
AH, didn't catch that he'd already tried different ROMs.
Have you tried different radio's? Don't think it'll help but...
Likely is time to send in for repair!
Hi,
In the past couple of weeks, i have had to perform a number of soft resets as my Kaiser was hanging. I didnt think much of it, putting it down to probably low memory.
However today it hung again whilst in IE and so i did a soft reset. Then it would boot only to the 'smart mobility' screen showing
R 1.27.12.11
G 22.45.88.07H
D 1.81.00.00
I started to get worried as it would not proceed past that screen. I tried several more soft resets and then decided to remove my 2gb microSD card, which helped it boot to WM6.
It would not show that the phone was connected to the network although the wifi was connected ok. I tried disabling the phone in the comm manager but that made no difference.
I then removed the SIM and it recognised that it was missing and shut down in 10 seconds.
I re-insterted the sim, but it still saw no network.
Then a number of other errors came up, such as quickdial.exe is missing, as well as a few others.
When i inserted the MicroSD back in it started to load and most recently 'should we disable phone alarm' at next start. Which i could not click as it had hung again.
Now, with or without the MicroSD or Sim it is back hanging at the 'smart mobility screen' again.
What should i do?
Thanks

First thing in such cases is a hardreset.
Yep, just doing that as you posted.
I really wanted to avoid doing that though.
Well, its done now, and now to re-install everything.
What do you thing was the fault? or cause for the hang ups.

Some software or setting you've done, or it was simply Murphys Law:
When the mistake could happen, it will happen
Should i upgrade the radio at this point?
Its like with PCs, u need to reinstall your operation system from time to time.
Hei all,
My Kaiser just the other night did something very strange and has not been able to fix it.
I turned it on, it booted right through then just like a stuck button it started to cycle through most programs starting and closing. The search engine starts up then it starts to write mmmmn.nmnm.mnnm. eee. and then stops .... ok this is just a few of the things it does.
Ok first I have soft booted and the same thing ... then I tried a hard reset ... guess what it will not hard reset. Yes two soft keys with the soft reset pushed in ..... but nothing!
Is there any other way to do a hard reset. I have no clue what is happening??
Thanks for the help!
Chris
Well guess what ..... after two days of trying to hard reset it finally worked .... perseverance ..... I guess fat fingers

Hi:
You can go into start/settings/system/clear storage. That will hard reset your device.
EDIT: Oops, sorry I missed your last line. Please disregard my post
Pocket Word has stopped working. Before you suggest a hard reset please read on.
Whenever I try load Pword it loads up, briefly shows the folders and then goes white with an empty bar at the bottom. It's as if it's attempting to load something as there is a cancel button at the button. But it's just completely locked and i have to terminate it manually.
At the moment I'm running G's Dk.10 but this has happened before when I was running one of Dutty's roms. Different screen but still wouldn't work.
I've only just finished customising my phone after the latest rom flash. I'm loathed to hard reset, especially when it might just stop working again. I've tried reinstalling office 6.1 but to no avail.
Changing radios couldn't affect Pword could it? I've flashed a couple of radios since it was last working. I'm probably grasping at straws here.
any suggestions other than hard reset?
Cheers
Yeah... A hard reset won't fix that... Try cooking a new ROM or something. My guess is that pword.exe became corrupted when the Kitchen built it. That has happened to many many many many system files of mine when I build custom ROMs.
EDIT: Removed. Double post. Doh!
My Tilt did a hard reset when today. I pusehd the button for a soft set, and it did a hard one. Anyone ever experience that?
I am suspicious of software. But haven't seen any comments about this problem in any threads on it.
Recently installed software is:
SBP Mobile Shell 3
Finger Suite
Touchpal
Any thoughts?
In order for a full hard reset to happen you need to press the key combination THEN press the green call pickup key.
If it did bypass all those then I guess there is a severe software error for it to manage it.
My only advice would be to be careful and keep a note if it happens again....
Yep. In fact I've found it hard to do a hard resset on my phone. I"ve done 2-3 times over the past 18 months, but haven't for a while.
It's really strange.
The good news is I had a 2 day old backup.
Strange indeeed. Normally the hard reset is done either by a combination of keys as you said or with the “clear storage” function in the settings menu.
However, recently I had a similar "mysterious" experience with a TyTN 1. I installed a new SPL and a new ROM and then I started filling it up with programs and then at one of the soft resets I noticed it was too slow starting up and it did a hard reset instead. What I did is I installed another SPL version (newer one) and I never had this problem again (so far).
Sorry. I'm blank. What is SPL, and what version did you install that helped?
I'm sorry to have to ask, but I'm at a loss at this point, I've fixed this problem 3 times, and it keeps coming back.
AT&T tilt, unlocked, Solace 3.1 ROM
HardSPL 2.97
The phone works perfectly fine, except when I have to restart it, then it gets locked in the Bootscreen....and becomes very difficult to get it out. I try a soft reset, hard reset, nothing seems to work.
When this originally happened, I reloaded Solace 3.1 only to have it continue to be locked in the boot mode. Finally I I noticed the camera button and the power button appear to get locked into the on position, so i would manually create space between the button, and the actual activating button within the phone. It has worked 3/200 times I have had this problem. Overall I solved it by never restarting or resetting the phone, but eventually even with a ram cleaning program it becomes a problem.
If I'm thinking of the wrong solution let me know, it now appears to be stuck again in the on position for the power button....I basically ripped off the outer camera button, and now have to manually press the small one within the phone to activate it manually. I still can't get it off the bootloader, and its quite a frustrating problem.
Again, everything software wise works like a charm, I would have to think it isn't software related. Any ideas? I'm at a loss at this point, and using my phone from 2 years ago as a result.
Have U tried using another ROM besides the Solace ?
