Wrong Text Timestamps - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV General

I'm just wondering why all my text messages that I receive have a wrong timestamp when they show up in my phone. I've tried looking for options in settings, but haven't found anything.
I am currently running MightyRom.
TIA,
Bernie

Use this cab to fix your problem.

Looking at the file called _setup, I guess I could just manually edit the registry?
But thanks for the quick reply. Is this a fault in the phone itself, or is it a bug in my MightyRom firmware?
EDIT: I just went inside the registry, and the value for TrustTimeZoneField is already 0. :S

I use this cab to fix the time stamp so far for mostly all cooked ROM's. Didn't used to have to do this until the 2.03 cooked ROMs came through.
Did you fix this using Reg Edit?

From my understanding of what the program does, it just changes TrustTimeZoneField to 0. However, the integer on my phone is already set to 0 according to the registry editor.
Do I actually have to install the .cab file onto my Diamond?

Yes....for me it works all the time. Don't worry, it doesn't ask for location, it's a quick install and that is it.

I installed it and it still doesn't work. All the texts are timestamped as 7 hours ahead, haha.

Sorry about that....works for me

Does anyone know whether or not this works for Dutty's HD V2.6 XTREME rom?

If you are afraid of trying the cab then get Regedit app and find and change the following..
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\PhoneSetting\
Find "TrustTimeZoneField" and give it a dword value of 0

Opening Messages - opens at BOTTOM of message?!

Anyone else? Open a message (any type) and it opens at the bottom of the message, so that I can't see the message or who it's from without scrolling up. It's annoying!
Also, if I use the D-pad to scroll through the messages, each message opens up in the same manner - at the bottom.
Is there a fix for this?
Thanks,
FrankyG
You posted the exact same question over on MoDaCo - and I answered it, so here's the exact same answer again
This is/was a common problem on the Hermes / TyTn I - but only if you'd installed a "tweak" utility like HTweakC or PimpMyBlack. There is a registry key (see below) that needs to be set to a value of 1 in order to prevent the auto-scroll-to-end in messages etc. The only downside to setting it to 1 is that you can't then scroll around pages in PIE using the D-Pad, you've got to use the stylus.
Code:
\HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Navigation\4-Way Nav = 1
If you've got the stock ROM on your TyTn II, then this may be the default setting; if you've flashed or installed tweaks, then this behaviour may be the result of that.......
HTH,
Mark.

hi,
i think it was just because there are some settings, when you can move mail attachments to the storage card. do not do that, i think this is main problem why msg are messed up after aplication this tweak.. anyway, i followed Mark Crouch's help and it works, so exported fixed registry and save for future usage

How to change the main menu soft button?

Hi,
I have a Treo 750v (Vodafone version) which like what it's box said it is meant for email solution, that's why the left soft menu of the Today screen menu is set to Email.
Anyone know how to change this?
Thanks, appriciate your share of knowledge!
I forgot the details but this i know as much
You have to download the register editor program. Search around the registry is all the same when it comes to changing soft key for all WM phones.
The only problem with the Treo 750 is when you change the softkey from email to something else it ends up adding an extra short cut. So in essence you are not overwriting that key, all you are doing is adding an extra feature on top of the existing email button.
Maybe someone had better success than I did can chime in
Using a registry editor, navigate to Hkey_Current_User/Software/Microsoft/Today/Keys/112
Change all 3 values to reflect your new function

It's all because Palm plugins - they overlay it. If you disable Active Call (or Dial Lookup?) you can have native-windows softkeys. It was all described in instructions how to ged back default dialpad.
i just downloaded the soft key changer that i found on here i think it was in the hermes section and copied it to my windows folder... after i did that it shows up in my settings and i can change both soft keys to what i want
was it:

Hi, thannks for the direct links. I'm going to try installing it. i hope it'll be fine.
seems it doesn't work with wm6. after installing it, the program isnt available in my program.

[TESTING] Palm Threaded SMS/MMS basic features working. No recording yet!

First off, thanks to shogunmark for ripping the threaded palm app out of the 750v rom! none of this would have been possible without you!
Second. Big ups to Raspster for giving me the file needed from his GloFish.
So here we go kids..this is pre-configured for at&t!
download the file here: http://www.sendspace.com/file/hbk5we PASSWORD IS xda
*note* This has been tested on a CLEAN rom which included NO arcsoft to begin with. tested on dk's 3.02 v0.4 6.1 rom
1. install shogunmark_wm6_threaded.cab to main memory.
2. open the application on the phone. verify it loads.
3. soft reset.
4. install PhoneService2.0.cab to main memory.
5. soft reset.
6. import palm-resize-fix.reg
7. soft reset.
BINGO! now it will work!
you can now send/receive MMS from inside the palm threaded app which blows the ****ing doors off the 6.1 threaded handler. palm will allow upto 300k size mms and i have enabled a auto re-sizer so now it will re-size pictures to under 300k!
any questions please post in the thread..all pm's will be ignored.
[known issues]
1. cant record a voice msg from inside palm to send.. missing few files.
2. some people are getting issues getting mms sent from blackberrys... this is still to be confirmed *blackberrys seem to send some pics over 600k thats why they arent working*
3. pictures over 600k will not download as of yet *working on this*

the only ones you really need to change are..
"MaxPictWidth" set this to 600
"MaxPictHeight" set this to 800
"IsPictResolutionLimited" set this to 1
they are all decimal.

Im trying it as well ATW on Dutty's newest rom, 3-8-08 i believe. Installing now!
if you do have arcsoft you need to disable the MMS section of it.. make sure you have NO MMS in the inbox/outbox/sent/deleted.. if you do delete everything, soft reset then edit the registry to rename HKLM/Software/MS/Inbox/SVC/MMS1 to MMS1OLD, soft reset again then install this collection of files posted here to get it to work.
i will put together a new .reg file from resco registry editor hopefully it will work
Cool

Install/Run untrusted application - final solution?

Hello,
For the past few days the (from what I gather) well-known problem of not being able to install or run an 'untrusted' application has been plaguing me. However, I've been searching here and googling around for a long time now with no result...
Been using Dutty's 5.2.19199 (WM6.1) and I really didn't change any setting! So what gives? Any ideas?Basically, how do I get the prompt back (the one during installation)?
Thanks in advance!

Check your registry settings! Use KaiserTweak or Schaps' AdvanceConfig!
Yes, I know it must be something in the registry, but what? And, I thought of Tweak and AdvanceConfig but -guess what? They're not authenticated! Argh!

If you are technical, try this: Download KaiserTweak's latest XML file and open the file in Notepad. Then see what registry key(s) is(are) modified for this tweak.
Ah now - that's a great idea! But, do you know of any PC-based registry editor, since I cannot install one on my TyTNII?
If you're really technical, you can follow through with cmonex's way found here.
If not, search for dot fred task manager, which includes a great *FREE* registry editor amongst other tools, much better than PHM Reg Editor, imo....
Whoa, thanks a bunch. I'll try the task manager first (found here, btw), but I'm not sure if I'll be able to run it either - the whole system seems VERY restricted! I'll try to make heads from tails with the instructions in the other thread. Thanks so much!
Btw, I do seem to remember a program that allowed you to edit the PPC's registry from Windows PC, anyone remember that?
Thanks again guys - much, much appreciated!
You can run the untrusted app, i.e. Advanced Conig. Just select yes. Then make the changes.
BTW, to view the xml, just Open notepad on pc & drop the xml in the notepad window.
No I can't that's my problem - it just flat refuses to run it, it doesn't give me the prompt.. that's why I'm asking for a PC-based registry editor!
Anyhow, I'll try it today and will let you know if I manage it!

The problem with this cab (and another one I had found) is that, once the mobile goes berzerk, you can't install it because, of course, it's unsigned... Catch 22! Thanks anyway - and, by the way, superb site, added to my RSS aggregator at once!
Anyhow, I just applied the reg tweak (set to 0), reset, thing asks me to verify running unsigned start-up programs, I OK them, and then... still same problem! What the heck? There doesn't seem to be any other tweak...

Regards,
Carty..
Yes, I set it to 0; it was set to 1 (probably an earlier KaiserTweak session), but I actually wanted to get the prompt so that I could tell it that f*cking yes, I want to run/install the app!
Anyhow, been switching between 0 and 1 with no effect... Feel a hard reset coming on, but it's weird because I've found quite a few posts around (not necessarily here) and no solution...
Got the same problem after a white screen after hardspl, but changing the registry worked for me. Thanks, now I can try jumpspl.

Text message unlocks phone

yeah ive noticed this!!!! how did you solve? im on same rom and use S2U2
yeah, i'd like to know the option too. mine used to light up so i could see the summary of the message for a few seconds. now it doesn't. it could be the same option.
To disable/enable wakeup use this advanced config option: Messaging/Wake up on new SMS.
Diamond TF3D config also can change this.
You can use any registry editor;

Odd
I think it's odd to remove this option when updating you're program/utility. Well i'll just change it in registry then.
Thanks for your help!
Can not get phone to NOT wake up when text comes in
I have tried a number of different things to try to STOP the screen from waking up on a new text message. I have tried everything except the older version 3.2.. of the advanced config utility. I have a Sprint version of the diamond. The Disablesmswakeupevent does not work on my system. It does not show up in the registry and when I create it, it still does nothing. This seems like such a silly thing to not have the option of adjusting in the oem configuration. The Pro has it, why not the non-pro version.
Many thanks for anyone that has a suggestion on how to get this screen to STAY OFF when a text comes in. Perhaps even a lock on incoming text that will be unlocked by the light sensor.
