I agree in look and screen X8 is better than Galaxy Y. Camera is not better in X8. Being a X8 user I will suggest Galaxy Y
I have X8 and my friend bought Galaxy Y few days ago and can say that Galaxy is faster than X8.I mean games don't stuck and everything is smooth maybe beacuse my X8 is on GingerXperia v22 and stock kernel

well x8 has an awesome community which Y fail to have ...
Joking, man? Maybe Y is a lil' bit faster as stock but how can anyone not puke when seeing Y's screen? And I think the X8 can be faster with Kuyadroid+Alfs v6+ [email protected] Mhz.
And if you buy x8 check the number behind the battery if it's 11w29++ don't unlock bootloader it will kill your phone

As I can see X8 has the advantage with the GPU... I have galaxy Y and yes it is really responsive compared to stock X8 since galaxy Y has higher RAM but the loss of GPU and lower screen resolution makes it lesser on X8

tell you what. you'll get performance - i can't argue with that - but there's 3 things you'll lose:
1. screen resolution
2. awesome dev support
3. an X8
the choice is up to you.
you could sell your X8 and take a hTC Desire C or xperia mini/ray/live with walkman.

just played with my friends one x and i gotta say its impressive eventho its not rooted yet (pfft) =P
but i think it dosent have an sd slot and s3 does??? i dunno design wise i would def get the one x over the s3...... but i hate sense =P but thats not a biggie hahhahahaha.... but quad core i dunno... are we even gonna really need it say in the next 3-4 years?? dualcore is good enough even for ICS, heck even our OB single core is zippy enough... (look at the awesomeness of zeus/ marvel)
ive always had this minor doubt about battery life on multiple cores also i mean yes eventho the workload on each core is reduced so = less battery drain (theoretically) but youre still ultimately powering up 4 + 1 cores... and thats gotta add up to sth right????
i think when the time comes for a recontract i would still keep my OB cos well its just sexy and the ppl here are nice! =)

NONE!!!!NONE OF THEM ARE GREAT...take my word on that...the BEST CELL CURRENTLY on the Market are GALAXY S2, XPERIA S AND HTC ONE "S" and maybe the Galaxy Note. BTW, my BESTEST BEST cell is the vintage HTC HD2. therez nothing like it. one of a kind
quad core is a gimmick. NO ONE NEEDS a quadcore (tegra's is "penta core" i beleive??) cells for now.
it is turning out to be like the megapixel gimmick of the digicam market.
most of what 95% users need is a single core 1.3/1.4 Ghz Processor and 512 MB RAM.
u tell me WHY should i get a quad core?? even if i DO get money to buy one, i'll go in for the dual core snapdragons instead of the quadcore tegras or Exynos'.
so, STOP riding the gimmick and if you are DRASTIC in getting a new cell, get the S2 or the One S.
(better get the S2, it's got a HUGE dev pool & is still good enough to keep the user satisfied for the next year and a half )

Second - i'm considering buying a new phone. New = another one, not brand new, but used (it's cheaper this way .
I have 2 candidates for now:
Sony Xperia J
Samsung Galaxy S Plus
How do you people think, which phone is a better choice in the means of performance, quality and future development on xda ?
I ask for opinions like advantages/drawbacks, not "i like samsung, so buy samsung".
In this price range there are also: Xperia Miro/Tipo, Xperia U, HTC Rhyme, Desire C.
So, how do you people think ?
Helo bro...first of all i would recommend u dat u dont go xperia j. The reason is dat the processor is 1ghz and runs wid the gpu of adreno 200 which our x8 runs on. Secondly the midranged smartphone dat i would recommend is xperia u..it runs on dual core 1 ghz processor the same u would find in xperia p...the ram is also friendly 512mb... Lastly i think it depends on ur taste per se...every ones view is different..

Thanks for a quick reply! I didn't know that U has dual core processor - i thought it's worse, because it has 'only 1ghz' and some stuff worse comparing to xperia J.

I recommend Xperia U too.
But with U you actually should know these facts:
1-low battery backup ,comes with 1350 mah battery which can't feed your large screen & thirsty dual core processor. (White magic LCD can save 70% energy some times but it's not enough)
2- 12 gb user available memory which can be extended by sdcard. (U can use USB flash disk but it hard to handle & drains more power)
If don't play with your phone it's a perfect phone, stylish(won some rewards for design of 2012 phones)
I don't recommend galaxy advanced cause it's outdated & no official ics rom(+looking like s##t)
Think about Xperia P too

Hmm, 12gb is almost too much space for me, so it's not a problem!
And if the battery will last for at least 20h of using (1 day) this will be enough for me too.
I don't watch movies on phone and ocassionaly listen to some music or play a game, but mostly i use it to browse the web etc.

Dont go for samsung galaxy s plus . my father has one and feels very cheap in hand the materials are cheap plastic.

I'm currently thinking about the Xperia P. I thought Xperia U has a micro-sd card slot but i was wrong - and 4gb of storage withoth the possibility to extend it is a bit too little...
Xperia P is a little to expensive, though. I'll try to find it as cheap as possible, maybe i'll make it

hi everyone! i hav been using galaxy note 1 fr about a yr now.earlier on ics i had tsf shell as my launcher n d fone worked pretty smooth even widout
rooting. but since i hav updated to GB d phone is wrkin lyk total garbage. i m using d tw launcher now basically cause i got bored wid tsf shell but d phone just so laggy dat its irritating. even small apps take eternity to open eg camera gallery contacts etc.
the worst is d free ram. even after just restartin i get a ram usage of 600 to 650 mb ram out f 800. i tried to disable most f d samsung useless apps to decrease cached processes but to no avail. m really confused ..pls help me.

Its perfectly normal operation. Remember, the note was designed for gb, so 2 iterations up its a lot more processor and memory intensive and the note just can't handle it.
If you want to, root and freeze unwanted apps or try a cm based or deodexed rom, but the note is passed it's prime.

i've always had this problem and it **** bothers me , you can fix it by removing all unwanted applications , using greenify app and after trying loads of tweaks and roms , i've found out that TW ICS roms have the best ram managing , cm10.1 are great too
Any chance we will see those since we have the same processor as the Pixel?
Probably not in a while... There's quite a lot more to a device than just the processor.
I wouldn't expect to see anything until O is officially released.
