'Application not signed' with new ROM - XPERIA X1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I installed the superlite ROM and when launching some applications on my X1 wm6.1, i get a message saying that the 'application file cannot be opened as it is not signed by a trusted cert or one of its components are missing' - i know what this means, but how do i get around it? I tried to edit the registry but kept getting an 'access denied' message...help!
I don't really want to reflash ROM as i have quite a few email accounts that take a while to set up

maybe the rom does not contain the sdk certificates. try this one see if it helps
what rom is that btw?

hi - its the superlite rom on this forum - much faster than the standard rom, which makes the X1 as slow as a slug!

I reloaded the new SuperLite ROM and still the same problem...help!

Superlite means = more usual softwares ripped from the rom, you need to install back a component that the app needs. This can be .NET CF, SQLCE Mobile, etc. What is the program you are trying to launch? If it's the Calculator, you'll need definitely .NET Compact Framework.

problem with Helmi's vanilla rom

Hallo,
I downloaded the vanilla version of Helmi's rom (THANKS Helmi!) and am trying to install it on my BA.
when I run the createrom.bat file, at a certain point there is a line that says,
Make sure that the free sectors is at least 1 (0001) or ROM will never work
of course I build the rom, I install it and it does not work. it just stuck at the 4 colored stripes at the beginning.
now I suppose the problem lies in this free sector, but I can't seem to understand how should I work around it... any help pls?
I never had any problem so far with any rom installed
thanks!
Strange...i've downloaded the same version from FTP and nk.nbf already was here,so no need to run createrom.bat!
mmm I downloaded this file
Helmi_BA_AKU3.5_Kitchen__R0
from the ftp site, it's a 50 mb file with all the folders like OS, LOC, ROM, OEM...
and, there is no nk.nbf file so you have to build it by yourself. I just d/loaded this file because I want a completely clean (well, as much as possible) rom, in fact I also deleted most of the OEM programs...
and I got stuck
you downloaded helmi_c's AKU 3.5 vanilla rom kitchen.
I had similar problem when i tried to add packages.
i didn't have time to look into the problem, i just re-cooked the ROM as it is (plain vanilla) & it worked!
may i suggest you try cooking as it is, if it works try to remove/add packages. this just to find out that you have a working rom kitchen.
I will try this, thanks.
hope it works!

.NET Framework not cooked into ROM ?

Hi guys,
I installed the tofclock WM6 ROM which should have included the .NET CF2.
But when installing and running NET applications I always get the error message which advises me to install "netcf.core.ppc3.ARM.cab" .. isn't that the NET CF ?
So long
HonkBB
I've been installing and running several programs that depend on .NET CF2 with no problems from the first day the first WM6 Hima ROM came out. Today I suddenly ran into problems with THREE different programs.
Two out of these three are now working after extracting a .netcfsetup.msi , copying the NETCFv2.wm.armv4i.cab, netcfrtl.dll, netcflaunch.exe to storage card, running the cab and soft reset. If you already installed netcfsetup.msi, these files are on your desktop computer in the program files\microsoft.net folder.
I can't imagine that it has anything to do with the date of today so the only reasonable explanation I have of 4 similar occurrences on 1 day (yours plus my 3) is that there is "something" around that messes up .NET. I doubt if it could be malware. That leaves as other candidates a cab that overwrites any of the .net files or settings, or an uninstall that removes more than it's supposed to do.
It is possible that we're both victim of the same culprit, it's just as possible that there are several potential culprits around.
BTW the file you mention is a .NET v1 cab... Perhaps older programs need it even when v2 is installed?
I'm planning to cook my own ROM soon (my first one, exciting) so I intend to dive into this matter a bit deeper.
Any suggestions from .NET scholars?

Opera 9.5 build 1938

Has anyone managed to upgrade the existing Opers
a on Diamond with the new build?
If so, what is the procedure?
Thx
I installed the CAB from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=401643
I used the version called VGA full install to device memory.
I installed it straight over a stock 1.93 UK unbranded ROM. It worked fine, and is a noticeable improvement.

In what way is it noticeably improved?
Because there is Plenty of room for improvement over 9.5 build 1660 I have.
Presumably the zip file under Opera Build 1938 Upgrade: (Not Resloution Specific) which contains 3 exe files (Opera9, OperaL and OperaPreL) just need to be copied into the Windows directory overwriting the existing ones to upgrade the software to build 1938?
Has someone done this, If so what are the improvements?
Does this build of Opera include the auto rotate without using GSen?

But now you have 2 versions of Opera on your device no? AFAIK it doesn't replace the one on the ROM.
Answers:
logger - I find it snappier to use, more responsive, and I don't get black hole glitches anymore.
tmohammend - maybe you are right... it's not the version I installed though.
richardirv - yes it has autorotate
MAK11 - I'm not sure that this is right. I'm not even certain that Opera is actually in ROM. When I hard reset the device I see Opera being installed on the device along with Google Maps and the other software. How would this install process put it into ROM? I wonder if actually Opera is in RAM, it just doesn't have an add/remove entry.
But this is all speculation. Maybe one of those ROM cooker guys could tell us this.
What I do know is this: after installing Opera 1938 I seem to have about the same amount of RAM as before, I still have 43% used RAM on my Diamond running S2U2 according to the HTC task switcher, and I only see one instance of Opera in memory apps like mobilemonger.
Maybe you're right and I have two versions installed, but if that's true it's invisible to me and the sacrifice is certainly worth it for a much improved Opera!
Installed build 1938 and cant see any noticeable improvement over build 1660. Still has numerous annoying Opera "features" that drive me bonkers.
However I was never effected by black hole glitches.
I get an error message when trying to install build 1938, "installation unsuccesfull [...] does not have sufficient system permissions"
Trying to install the VGA CAB, have tried to install both to device and storage memory.
I've also tried to replace the 3 files in the "Not Resloution Specific"-version, but there is some kind of permission problem there too.
Am I doing something wrong?
double post due to connection problem

Maybe I'm using language that's a bit too gushing. It's slightly improved, not transformed. It's not like it suddenly sped up to Google Chrome speed. (Wouldn't that be nice...)
Use the zip file containing uograde 3 files, but before copying, you will need to kill the processes Opera9.exe & OperaPreL.exe using a task manager. This will upgrade the current. But offcourse if you do a hard reset the old one will come back.
installed the upgrade, certainly feels quicker. No longer get the black hole bug i did on certain pages. Seems to detect me rotating to landscape better too

Thanks, I didn't know the processes were running even though I'd performed a soft reset. As a bonus I found a good task manager!

Soft-reset and try again.... normally that error message apears when some service related to previous usage of opera is still running in background.
