if you want almost the same as treo 750 but with palmOS go for the 755p or 680 (GSM or CDMA)

Just because it's not Based on CE 6 it does not mean it's not WM6. Feature-wise, YES it is WM5 SE. But label-wise, looks like it will be called WM6... I'd prefer to have it called WM5 SE to keep WM and CE major version numbers in sync though.
Most of the existing models won’t receive an update to Windows Mobile Crossbow, since a communicator is not a desktop PC and there is no way for downloading from somewhere a new version of OS and installing it outright, even though no restrictions on hardware are seemingly in effect.

Well, it seems that reading xda-developers is better lecture than this "review".

i am looking forward to "oversized mute and speakerphone controls" !!! ...seems diff from the leaked ver, i think...
Maybe, but I'm not holding my breath on that.
I'm hoping the big delay is due to the implementation of the carousel into the today screen and similar as with the 500/centro.
Wouldn't that be nice, the states get the latest and greatest first for once
I saw this news too. Treo Central is reporting that "an internal AT&tT presentation has been posted." Follow link below...
http://www.treocentral.com/content/Stories/1384-1.htm
Of course the URL on the presentation is producing a 404 error today ... 3 days after it was supposed to be available ...

You mean the more than just the top line of those two buttons will now be visible when the Touchscreen Disabled message overlays them (when Auto-Disable Touchscreen while on call is selected)?
This is probably the only reason I would go to the trouble of "upgrading" from my "Leaked AT&T" WM6 version
Palm tech support told me today (10/21) that they have released WM6 to ATT for testing. Anyone have any idea how much longer we wait from here?
I should hope AT&T has been testing it. We've been testing WM6 for months now.
My unofficial, unscientific and uneducated guess: We'll finally get the official release sometime after yesterday.
I was talking to AT&T business customer service regarding my account. Before i got off the phone i asked a question regarding the availability of WM6 for the treo 750. He said the upgrade is out and available to all thier retail stores in effort to upgrade the existing stock of Treo 750 with WM5 to WM6 in preperation for the arrival of the new TREO 750 with WM6 included. Once the above mentioned is complied with, the upgrade for existing users will hit the perverbial shelves...
Giving Back..
jhowle
Excellent, jhowle! Thanks.
Anyone have any thoughts on how the upgrade will go for those of us with the leaked rom? Think the update will work as advertised? Or will we have to extract the cheeimg.nbh?
Not a huge deal either way. Just curious.
ladues and gent i finally gave in and went back to htc product, treo just not promising when come to updates and upgrades, so i have decide to invest my self in a new tytn II, how ever this have been a very wild adventure i am still retaining my patience with my treo 750 on ausie wm6 with att capakage.
Now that the Android OS is released as open-source, how long does one suspect it will take to get a version worked up for the Treo 750?

Has anyone ported it? Any news?
Someone would have to have a lot of time on their hands but it would be teh most awesome thing ever...

Windows Mobile 6.5 which is due out in the 4th quarter of this year will be available to some WM 6.0 and WM 6.1 phones. Sure hope htc gets on the band wagon and upgrades our Kaisers. (Doubtful though).

Jim
It's already been announced by MS that there will be no upgrades to WM6.5 for current phones.
Anyway, there are a few decent WM6.5 roms out in the ROM Dev forum...
im using wm 6.5 and i dont like it. too much bug and very slow. stick to wm 6.1 unless wm 7 comes out.
My hope, a cooked WM6.5 liked original config. has (icons, feature, applications) and they are working well
If it's a lite version, then just be as original graphics has..
Ah, it's just a dream..
6.5 isnt that great.

Actually according to this post at engadget mobile, in the last paragraph, it says that Microsoft will now, at the discretion of the device manufacturer, provide a 6.5 upgrade to any device with at least a 400MHz processor and 128MB ram. I still doubt that we'll get an official upgrade since HTC wants us to buy new phones from them. Here's the text for anybody who's interested:
Finally, Microsoft's issued a clarification regarding upgrades from 6.1 to 6.5: devices that are already out in the marketplace with a minimum of 128MB of RAM and a 400MHz processor or better are theoretically capable of being upgraded -- it's all up to licensees to decide whether they want to go to the trouble of offering the upgrades to their customers

Here's Pocketnow.com's interpretation:
According to Engadget Mobile, Microsoft is amending its upgrade policy for Windows Mobile 6.5. The company is now stating that if you own a Windows Mobile 6.1 device with at least a 400 MHz and 128 MB of RAM, it is up to the device maker to offer an upgrade path or force you to buy new hardware. Can we see a Touch Fuze on AT&T with Windows Mobile 6.5? The "Home" button instead of the "Start" button that was previously required for Windows Mobile 6.5 will surely save some people a few hundred on new hardware.

I am pretty sure that is the way it went from 6.0 to 6.1. HTC said yes to some models and no to others. MS doesn't care who replaces one phone with another newer one, they sell a license either way.

plz can anyone help me
i want to know if i can install android on my palm treo 750v
I think no one is interested on porting android to our T750's anymore.
android cant be ported to the treo 750, screen resolution doesnt match any android resolution, you need at least a 400mhz processor palm has 300, and dont even mention ram, my arc has 500mb and still runs the latest version of android slow.
