I just bought an Imagio and will have it tomorrow. We need to get this forum rollin
im a big supporter of NFSFAN's roms after using his rom on my VZW TP and I hope he decides to whip something up for our phones !
Did anyone decide to give the mobile tv a shot? Looks like the kickstand on this phone was made for it
agree with the custom roms, man what do we need to get this goin? im really lookin foward to the coverflow on the new version of tf3d, oh and mobile tv works really well just needs more variety...
I just got mine this morning and am already having flash anxiety. I am used to flash my own cooked omnia roms with close to nothing on them. there is so much stuff on this phone that i don't want, thanks VZW.
So if we are able to get a Hard spl unlock we should be able to use any topaz kitchen as long as we use our OEM right?

LOL I know what you mean. I haven't even finished cleaning up from unboxing, don't have all my traditional apps on and tested yet and I stop by to see what's cooking in the kitchens already!
I am looking forward to using the phone though. I already seems much better than my Touch Pro.
Ditto here, I just ordered the Imagio today, and already wanted to see what was going on with ROMs lol.
I am wondering if anyone has contacted cmonex on weather or not she has considered helping us out with the HSPL. I am getting my phone in the Morning and I really hope we dont have to wait long. I will be around to help out with what ever I can.

There is a HardSPL placeholder thread now.
tethering to laptop
Hey all! Anyone know if/how you can tether to a laptop for use as a modem.. Kinda need it..
Imagio can tether
Yup, works great tethered, just go get PdaNet from June Fabics dot com.
Lets, go.
We desperately need to kick it up a few notches. Although I love my imagio there are so many good devices coming out that we need software and features fast. We have an ass load of potential we need this hspl so desperately I hope its coming along. I will donate the hell out of good developers.
Some things I've been thinking of.
We need to make this bad boy use motion commands, implement g-trigger or something similar cooked in.
We need to implement TFLO 3D Build 1920 and tweak it to run fast.
We need the a rom that runs stock, with only tflo running, to be at less than 40% of resources.
We need to be able to read and use 32gb storage cards.

haha.. well said!! it's weird because i don't ever remember a hspl taking this long.. is it because there's something new with the imagio? like some new technology that nobody's worked with yet??
Well, according to another user somewhere that contacted HTC they said that it was a unique device to Verizon so it could be that some time is needed before they can get this one hacked.

Yeah, I'm sure!
Yes, we need it. But what we can do is waitting
Well the folks at pccgeeks have posted instructions to unlock the CDMA Touch Pro 2... My understanding is that the Imagio is a "variant" of the CDMA TP2... maybe we'll see a ROM and SIM unlock for the Imagio in the not too distant future.
I'm sure when sprint gets the diamond2 (whitestone) hspl will come very shortly after. Should be next month, thought it might be November 1st, but I haven't heard anything. But is guaranteed to be here within Q4 this year.
For the 18 millionth time, the Whitestone is not the Topaz (Diamond2)!

Hello..
I am gettign a good deal on a Sprint TP2 .... I am currently usign a Kaiser(Tilt) and love it... I am unlocking the Sprint TP2 so I can use it with a GSM providor.... I was wondering if someone can reccomend a hopefulyl unbranded Rom & radio combo that are known to work with this phone.. The gsm carrier I will be using is called Einstein PCS... But I think any one that works well for AT&T will be good for me as I roam i ntheir networks often.. I am not worried about the 3G speeds as my carrier doesn;t offer that, and I will usually just use Wifi anyways.. Thank you in advance...
Lately lots of people ask this question, but no one want to answer I think you must flash some Roms and choose the best in your opinion

Firstly, DO NOT flash a GSM ROM, or use any of the GSM unlockers. Head over to the Rhodium CMDA forum and use the tools there.
Secondly, just pick the ROM that you like the look of, there are some in the CDMA forum and a few more on PPCGeeks IIRC. It's not that hard, if you don't like the look of a ROM, change it, if you don't like any, put the stock ROM back on.

Hi, Ive been looking for hours on the web and this site for any way to completely flash my Telstra PDA 2K Evdo CDMA Harrier, I really like it and would just like to use it as a PDA, since CDMA was shut down in 2008 here in Australia (Yeah, I know sad). Any way I would really like to upgrade it to Android or WM 6.5. If I upgraded it to android I would need to still Access the internet through the cradle in order to download apps, since I cant obviously access the net through EVDO and there is no WIFI in this cdma version.
Thanks, any help appreciated.

i don't no ! I think very good!
You sadly can't flash the harrier to 6.5, and the android port seems to have no one working on it, and is useless in its current form. It looks like you're stuck with a PDA and WM2003
Thanks for the reply, hopefully someone might want to port Android to it soon,
Thanks,
Matt
It seems to be the latest version supports CDMA Android why not port them) =
P.S. at the hands of 6600 now udmayu as if his brush.
I would try to port, if I could, I have no idea how to LOL.
Anyway if someone has done it could they post it here?
Thanks,
Matt
Sorry, but the BA development has been going down-hill lately (needless to say, the Harrier never really took off... no pun intended). Android had a few people excited when it was first spotted in the BA, but never got farther than that.
My hope's still there!!!!
why dont you just buy a blueangel with a cracked screen and swap the logicboard? or screen for that matter.

Not a bad idea....
I actually have been stalking eBay for a while, for one with just a cracked screen, but still waiting (although alot of CDMA ones with cracked screens are avaliable)
But i really dont need it for "Cell Phone usage(calling etc)", I would just want to be able to use some android apps on it, because im not quite ready to give up my touch diamond for testing yet.

There are a few Linux OSs that will work with the BA such as QTopia, but other than that the Android port never came to becoming real due to lack of developers interested in porting the drivers for it.
actually its a HTC Harier (so its cdma) and what i've heard is that most "os' that have been made for the blue angel dont work on the CDMA versions.
thanks
Okay so I use to keep up with the cell phones a decent bit but never got into the windows mobile phones.
Cause my original use for phones was just to have a phone encase someone needed to reach me.
Then it slowly grew into calls, text, music.
And slowly into the now, calls, text, music, organizer, web browsing, pictures, email, no weather though (rain or shin who cares lol), instant messaging, video, I don't really hit the myspace, facebook, twitter really but would be handy for gf, anyone do anything for wiki yet lol
Man getting old sucks. lol, it use to be easy to keep up with everything.
examples: Home Theater, Car Audio, Computers, Cell Phones, Gaming, Exc.
So keep in mind this is for my Sprint - HTC Touch Pro 2 - Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional
I have noticed not alot of love for the CDMA Phones, and I'm also not sure what type of display my phone is.
I have seen like 4 or 5 different labels for the display types and wondered which mine was.
So to my point. From what I am seeing going threw all of these.
No one seems to be making a version of these things where your not totally re-flashing the phone. Or am I just reading that wrong.
In using these different things do they really replace the original backup image on the phone. Or are they just adding another app or Today Screen Item or System overlay or what ever you call it.
I see alot of warnings and using different things for backing up my phone.
That the person suggest to use.
So I'm just try to gauge the level of change to the phone that is going to happen.
I was also wondering how often to people on here take from people ideas or suggestions?
Since I lack the skills in programing. I was thinking of making up some mock pictures and descriptions of what I would like and see what people and programmers think.
I would also be open to any suggestions in things to add as well.
So I think I am going to start doing to mock ups and will post them in a second post but will make a spot for me to edit after this one.
Mock Ideas & Display
post to be edited in future for ideas and concepts
First of all, you'll have to find out more details about your phone... For that you go to Settings > System > Device Information. There you'll find all the details about the current ROM, Manilla, etc. And enough details to get all the information regarding your phone using Google.
Secondly, it's really not that difficult keeping up with the latest tech. Get a few nice RSS feeds for news on technology. I'm personally still waiting for some viable Augmented Reality tech. If you've got an interest then you'll keep up and with the software we have today you can get everything right on your phone or desktop. I personally spend the first hour of every day browsing news, reading articles and reading my emails using my Google Desktop RSS feeds.
Thirdly, flashing ROMs is the easiest way for custom builds to be released. Otherwise you'd have a hundred different CAB files to install and you'd likely get a million errors because of requirements from other CABs that weren't considered. Flashing is really not that difficult and saves a lot of time and effort for both the developer and the user (for the developer because he doesn't get a million queries on why something isn't working). Of course there are a hundred different apps and themes to change the look and feel of your phone but the problem is that HTC never released a global version of Sense/Manilla 2.5 for the Touch Pro 2 (Phone is sold with WM6.5 and Manilla 2.1). They've recently released some localized versions but getting them for your phone is a mission and it doesn't provide you with all the nice added functionality that some of the XDA developers provide.
It does replace your original ROM but you can always download that again from HTC and just flash it back to the original.
Lastly, writing software isn't just as easy as 1,2,3. Well... sometimes it is but if you really want to create something that's useful and adequately stylish it's going to take some time. What's likely is that you'll create your concept art and someone might have the same passion for the concepts that you do and create it for you. Chances are very slim for that though... but post the concepts and let's see what you can come up with. I'm personally writing an integrated system for my fiance using web-services, windows apps and mobile apps so that she can manage her ballet school comfortably. This is a huge project in itself and I get bored really quickly if there isn't anything challenging to figure out.
Always check google... chances are that someone's already created what you're looking for.
Good luck with the catching up and don't be afraid to ask questions. Just also remember that there is unfortunately such a thing as a stupid question so use the search function on the forum as well as google extensively before asking anything.

that is all the info i could find directly on the phone but not sure what i'm suppose to look up on my phone on google
as far as keeping up in general yeah its not hard. but keeping up in depth is another story. like the programing behind the phone, programing behind the computer, what is the latest and greatest in home and car audio, playing all the lastest games, exc.
I mean i can build a computer, install home and car audio, i know i can install apps and install this stuff in time with enough reading, and i keep up with enough gaming for me lol
I just can't keep up in the detail that i want to keep up with and be able to do
i figured there was a reason why the better stuff was a rom flash just wondering why
now when were talking about flashing the rom. are we talking like flashing firmware or bios. or we just saying uploading data into the machine in one large load. and does this flashing also replace the windows os or is that left alone?
oh i'm still going to make a mock setup using my paint.net lol
i'm very sure i will design something that will catch peoples eyes and make them want to make it
I have done that plenty for game mods, some windows stuff, and other things along the way
oh i have been searching google for the past couple weeks and how i came across this site. but mainly was finding little apps were some work and some didn't. but didn't give me the final product i was looking for
and yeah i'm on a few different forms for my game and other stuff so i know how they go. just sucks to see 100s of pages of stuff cause its like a needle in a hay stack sometimes or the person description or wording is not clear for every person

Yeah the CDMA phones can use both CDMA and GSM. But the important thing is that you need to use CDMA ROMs and CDMA radios. If you flash a GSM ROM by mistake then the phone won't boot, but you can easily flash a CDMA ROM.
However, if you flash a GSM radio by mistake onto a CDMA phone, then you *will* brick it, and there's no way back !
The best way to tell is to check the model number of your phone, under the battery. It will be "RHODxxx", where the "xxx" is three digits. Yours will be RHOD400 or RHOD500, which are the CDMA phones. The GSM ones are RHOD100/200/300 (and variants thereof, e.g. 310).

ROMs are the main things running your phone, the operating system and software to operate the main functions.
The radio is the firmware (which also sits in your ROM) which controls the actual radio transmitting/receiving functions - i.e. talking to the cell towers, talking to GPS satellites and (possibly ? can't remember for sure) the Wi-Fi.
So with an updated radio you can sometimes find better reception/battery life/GPS lock. It's easy to experiment flashing different radios because you don't have to backup/restore stuff like you do with ROMs.
Just make sure you flash a CDMA radio to your CDMA phone though, not a GSM one !
alright so basicly i got a bit of research infront of me before i even dare to make any major changes to my phone. blah
how often do people package both the rom and radio together?
and since this is windows, and your saying when you flash the phone it replaces everything, how does microsoft track the os out there or do they not use the os serial key on the phones like they do on the computers?
so in saying this as well i half to make sure whatever rom i do decide to flash to my phone i half to make sure its to a touch pro 2 or i will have problems. if i'm understanding this correctly
i wonder how hard it will be to find guides with alot of pictures?
i never seem to follow just text very well
i have noticed for some of the general things i have picked up from here they had very nice pictorial guides to help me lol
but for the rom back up and flashing i'm noticing pages of pages of text and not much in pictures lol, damn visual bases in learning
If my personal experience is anything to go by, people tend to flash the ROM more often than the radio, because the ROM changes more often, assuming it's a custom/cooked ROM. People tend to stick with a radio which works well for them, when they've compared a few - then if a new one ever comes out it's easy to flash that and see if it's better or worse (or just the same).
MS don't track the OS install like they do with a PC, there's no activation as such. Custom ROMs are often running leaked ROMs from MS anyway, rather than official releases.
When you flash you need to make sure it is for a CDMA TP2, not just for a TP2. Because if you flash GSM stuff by mistake then Bad Things may well happen (which you might be able to recover from, or might just destroy your phone).
any reason people used just the leak roms besides getting an early start
i mean do they ever replace it with a legal version
i'm not a big fan on stolen software. stolen software is part of the reason why items have higher prices, granted most of the price is cause of the manufacturer, but thieves don't help the price lol
now free software is another story that is all good lol

If people own the device for which the ROM is intended, then I don't consider it stolen; it is intended for that device, and will be released for that device.
Personally, however, I do not install "leaked" ROMs; they are in development.

Which leaked ROMs are you referring to ? Because in the past, when ROMs such as T-Mobile and AT&T ones have been leaked, they have actually been the finished article (as proved by comparison with the final published product), just not officially released as yet, hence not actually under further development.

The stock ROMs are generally pretty bloated and prone to freezing. I would recommend that you read the Hard SPL thread, then go ahead and flash the Hard SPL. This will enable to you flash any ROM you like.
Once you have done that first step, just choose a ROM (look over the various choices in this section). You can always flash a different choice later.
WARNING: Make sure your phone is GSM before flashing a ROM from this forum!
^^^^ what he said
You've got nothing to lose and everything to gain by flashing a custom ROM - you can always try another one or go back to stock if you don't like it. Just make sure you back up any data that you want to restore (e.g. contacts, messages etc) before you flash.
All the info you need are in the stickies - e.g. the HardSPL thread for flashing HardSPL, and the "Flashing your First GSM Rhodium ROM" thread.
If you're not sure which ROM to pick, you could always just pick one of the most popular ones to start with, based on the assumption there must be a fairly good reason for those to be the more popular ones.
what I did
Hey
I am about to flash my phone too. I also have it for more then a year ( since last September ) and i did a bit of research just for piece of mind
The most important step is Hard SPL this is so if something goes horribly wrong u can still re-flash it to try and repair the damage ( someone confirm this: there no hardware damage done when u flash , its all just software), besides its also needed in order to flash custom roms aka cooked roms.
For what custom rom to get I did the folowing: sorted the threads based on stats ( posts / views ) and looked at the most popular ones and something struck: Energy rom by NRGZ28 is BY FAR the most popular one, so it must be good for a 1st try then some new unknown cooked rom
Also if you would like to get more info I found this youtube video ( 20 mins / 2 parts ) very informative:
Since I'm new and can't post links search for " Real Time ROM Flashing " and u will find it.

HardSPL removes the SPL lock which normally only allows flashing of ROMs officially released by your carrier. Without it, you won't be flashing anything, except official ROM updates from your carrier. Yes, HardSPL allows you to run Task29, which formats/wipes the memory. And in some cases this can help you recover from a bad flash. Sometimes flashing back to the stock ROM can help you recover as well.

Energy ROM is what I use, and I love it. Its a good tradoff of speed/stability and looks/features. But some feel its not the fastest or most "lightweight" ROM out there. If you want that, some people have recommend Jackos or Valkyrie. Also, lots of people like Deep Shining.
There really is no "best" ROM. It depends on whether you prefer eye candy or speed (or somewhere in the middle), what kind of apps you like to have cooked in, etc.
But I agree to the previous advice given to the OP. Flashing a custom ROM will fix many, many things over the stock ROM. Your phone will be faster, more stable, and have more functionality and features. Figuring out how to flash a custom ROM can be a little intimidating at first. But once you've learned how to do it, its really a snap. And then you will wonder why you ever waited so long to do it! Just make sure you read all the "stickied" guides, read as much as you can about the ROM you are flashing, and follow the instructions carefully.

I am getting bored and annoyed with my phone please help. I know I am gonna get a lot of comment like "read the forums or something" I've been reading them and they don't really give the info I need.
I appreciate any suggestions and advices.
Thank You

I recommend Jackos S2 Rom. It is by far the fastest rom i've tried. When you first flash it, it looks very close to a stock rom and it works great just like that and if you want to, you can modify it to your liking. If you want to take a look, you can find the thread here--->http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=632617. If you want to see what it looks like modified, take a look at my profile pic. Jackos rom has been what i've used for the last few months. Like everyone else before me said, do the HSPL before anything.
Thanks everyone. Really really appreciate all the comments. You guys definitely gave me enough ideas and confidence to flash my phone. I can't wait XD

You can also read ROM reviews on The Wingster. But there's no best ROM as everyone said. Find something that fits what you need....
If you want SPEED: Choose a Sense 2.1 ROM or even a ROM without Sense (a.k.a. Titanium)
If you want FEATURES: Choose a Sense 2.5 ROM, with CookieHomeTab or another similar enhancement. They will be slower overall, but they have some neat extra features.
Go with Windows Mobile 6.5.5 unless you really like the Windows Mobile 6.5 design.
Then test out a few ROM's and see what works for you.
If you need any help, in addition to the forums, you can use the Support link on The Wingster and I can help you out. But if you read all of the instructions, everything should work well!
I did my little research and I believe it's a GSM. My phone is TILT 2..is that right?

If you bought your phone from AT&T, then YES it is a Tilt 2, which is GSM.
Your phone is always GSM except if you bought it from Verizon, Sprint, or Telus. Every other provider (T-Mobile, AT&T, and worldwide ones) is GSM!
So if yours is GSM, pick any ROM from the forums here.
Check under the battery if it takes a SIM card its gsm..

Umm, no, that's wrong, sorry. CDMA phones still have a SIM card slot.

Only CDMA Worldphones do have a sim slot.
Sorry guys, but I´m a little bit noobish about that. How can I get if I am "GSM" or "CDMA" with Touch Pro 2 for sure ? I still don´t get the signs of recognizing....
I saw some thread about it, but still do not understand the problem of this separation.

Yeah but this is the Rhodium forum, and were're talking about Rhodiums. So my answer was about CDMA Rhodiums (which are Worldphones).

Take the back off your phone, remove the battery, and look for some lettering under there. It should say "RHODxxx", where the "xxx" are three digits.
RHOD100, RHOD200, RHOD300 (and variants) are GSM. RHOD400 and RHOD500 are CDMA.

Yea only a dual band phone would still have a slot if it has gsm slot its gsm or dual band point blank... Know what your talking about before you speak..
can a world phone use these roms?
i just got my touch pro 2 off ebay for $200, new in box, which is a pretty good deal. Anyway I want 2 flash one of these roms. The phone's original company is Telus. This phone's marked RH0D500, it's got a GSM slot but is listed as CDMA... (I'm on at&t) From what I read it seems that this has to be treated as a CDMA phone? r there any cdma roms that will still allow me to get corporate emails and use all the good functions of this phone? Oh if anyone's interested the guy i got it from on ebay has like 5 more, but if they're only going to work with CDMA roms then people should probably not buy them for that reason...

As far as I am aware "RHOD00" is not a valid marking. Is that a typo? Or maybe you should look again. It should be RHOD100, RHOD200, RHOD300, RHOD400, RHOD500, and there may be some variants, like RHOD210. But there should be 3 digits after "RHOD" under the battery. Looking around the net, the Telus version should be RHOD500.
All the "CDMA" variants of the Touch Pro 2 actually also have a GSM radio as well (and therefore a SIM slot) since they are intended for "World" use (international travel). This is because CDMA alone is nearly useless for foreign travel, since most countries outside of North America use GSM. So the presence of a SIM slot will not tell you whether its GSM or CDMA.
For the purposes of these forums, the versions of the TP2 that are CDMA/GSM are considered "CDMA" and can only flash the CDMA ROMs. Phones that are solely GSM radio should only be flashed with GSM ROMs. Flashing a GSM ROM to a CDMA/GSM Rhodium will render it inoperative.
The Telus version of the TP2 looks to have the correct GSM bands (850 and 1900 MHz) to work on ATT. But the phone will need to be SIM unlocked, if it isn't already. If you Google around, you will find some posts on the net (and probably on here too), where people have gotten the CDMA/GSM versions to work on AT&T and T-Mobile, so it should work (if SIM unlocked). But it appears you will only have EDGE data speed, not 3G, since the HSDPA/UMTS radios seem to be missing from the Telus version, based on looking at the phone's specs.
You would have been better off buying the ATT version of the phone, the Tilt2. Its the only version that has the necessary hardware to get 3G data speeds on the ATT network. And you should completely understand all the specs before you buy any phone that isn't from your carrier.
