Backup of text messages, PIM, etc - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV General

Activesync and message centre have no provision for backing up text messages. I found Microsoft Myphone Beta. You download the sync software from the website to phone, then you have access to messages, contacts, music, pictures, etc from the web, similar to skydrive or yahoo briefcase in principle. Email Accounts

Where are they stored? I did a PIM Backup and the CHome plugin sees the emails, but the actual email accounts dont exist in the outlook setup. When I try and create them, the phone says there is already an email with that name...so I am looking to just delete these hidden ones and re-enter them.

[Q] Like MyPhone?

Is there something to android like microsoft have (MyPhone) that syncs everything over the air?
On their website it says:
With My Phone you can:
* Back up your phone automatically
* Share photos on your favorite social networking sites
* Access your contacts, text messages and more online for free
* Locate your lost phone

Short answer is YES, long answer is MAYBE. There is an app for each and every feature that MyPhone has. I'm not sure about the SMS though.
Android = Google.
Have a Google Account, then your email, contacts and calendar are all synced to the cloud. Regarding notes, you got Evernote which is more than capable.
I hope I answered your question.
Most of this stuff is built into every android phone
- Email sync is automatic and goes to GMail
- Contact sync is automatic and goes to GMail
- Calender sync is automatic and goes to Google Calender
- Photo and video sync is automatic with Picassa if you enable it
- You can also auto upload to YouTube using your google account
Locate a lost phone is built in by Sansung, go to Settings -> Location & Security -> Mobile Tracker.

Or, there are a ton of other market apps that do this same thing.
OK. i sync gmail and google calender but not contacts. shall i do something to sync contacts?
When u sync with picasa, do u sync contact pictures so they find its way back to the right contact after a hard reset? or do i have to pick one and one pic to one and one contakt?
How mutch space do u have on your picasa account?
"sms backup+" let's you backup sms to gmail for free. "backup to gmail" let's you backup sms, mms and call logs but costs $2. And to sync contacts to gmail you need to select gmail when you add someone to contacts. Simple

[Q] Contacts / TXT Messages etc?

I have a HD2 and have my contacts/ txt messages etc all synced with MS MyPhone.
Is there a way to restore them on WinMo7? I dont want to add them via Hotmail. Any ideas?
isnt that taken from your windows live account?

Microsoft MyPhone Shutdown

I'm using HTC TP2 but I also have HD7 which I don't use because I can't move contacts, text msg, etc, due to lack of MyPhone app for WP7
After MS shuts down MyPhone service, all the content will be moved to SkyDrive service.
Once this happens is there any way to move contacts texts, pics etc. from SkyDrive (Windows Live?) to HD7?
Thanks

SMS/texts cannot be restored or backed up (yet) on Windows Phone 7. Period.
Your contacts will be converted to a CSV file, which you can download and manually import using Windows Live Hotmail, or Gmail, or many other e-mail services. Then just sync it with your phone.
Pictures, videos, music, can be downloaded to your PC and sync'd to your phone via Zune. Windows Phone will also automatically recognize any picture folders on your SkyDrive and they can be displayed through the Pictures hub if your Windows Live ID is linked to the phone. Alternatively, once the Windows Phone Mango update comes out, there will be a built in way to access your SkyDrive files through the phone.
Office documents can be e-mailed to yourself, or stored on your SkyDrive for access from the WP7 browser (until Mango).
Favorites cannot be backed up or restored to Windows Phone 7 (yet).
Calendar items will be converted to an ICS file that you can import into many different calendar services, then sync that service with the phone.
Note that the document detailing the My Phone service shutdown says that not all data will be migrated over. Only contacts, text messages, calendar items and photos. The rest you must backup yourself.
When you say yet do you mean that it will be possible inn the mango update?

I say yet because it may be possible in any future update. In Mango, I don't see the ability, but I'm not going to say it will never happen, just a matter of when.
It seems that my contacts and text messages are not synchronized with the SkyDrive account.
My phone is based on WM 6.5.3 and I would like to preserve my contacts for future phones.
Do you know why the synchronization does not work?

Where are your contacts currently stored? Depending on where they are stored, there are a few options.
- If they are stored on the phone, you can connect the phone to your PC and use Microsoft Outlook to sync your contacts to your PC so you can use them in the future. You can also use the Windows Live app on the phone to sync your contacts back and forth to your Hotmail account, though this sometimes does not always work as intended and may end up erasing your on-phone contacts to replace them with the ones in your Hotmail account.
- Your contacts should have been backed up to a .csv file before the service stopped. You can use this file to import into other e-mail/contact applications (such as Outlook, Gmail, Hotmail, etc.).

Thank you for your reply. I appreciate it.
The interesting fact is that they are stored in my MyPhone account. I use the same Live account for SkyDrive and it is empty.
In the attached screenshot, I show that my account is not empty, but in the skydrive.live.com address I have nothing

Hmm. Can you still see your contacts and items in the MyPhone website? If you can, are you able to export your contacts to a file or something?
Also, I believe the service is no longer active, so your contacts should still be on the phone if you sync'd it. If they still show up in your contact list, then you should be able to sync it with your PC and Outlook, or use Windows Live or even another Exchange server to sync your contacts.
Otherwise, it's been a long time since I've used the MyPhone website, so I have no idea what features it has now. You may have to e-mail support and see if they can assist you.
Hello,
Yes, I am able to see them on my side (all messages and contacts), but since the service is down, the MyPhone application cannot create a connection to the server, and I am afraid that I will lose my items soon
I will try to contact with Support.
Thank you

You could always try Mobile Backup & Restore by Trend Micro (in the Play Store). You get 50MB free. It lets you back up Contacts, Call Lists, Calendar, SMS, SMS History, Pictures, Music & Video. Obviously Pictures, Music and Video will eat well into that free 50MB allowance, so you can deselect them to be backed up.
I went for it because I wanted to back up my text messages from my S2 before going onto the S3. I also backed up my contacts and calendar, but didn't need to as my Gmail account took care of that.
Thanks Carbon (now called Helium) will only backup device and not sync with outlook, same with titanium both really useful though especially titanium. I tried my phone explorer it syncs well, quite powerful, safe to use?
