After the release of the WM 6.5 Build 21500 I´m thinking to try it out. But I have a question:
*Is the SecondToday working on the WM 6.5?
I want to use both TF3D and the standard WM 6.5 Today screen and on the 6.1 it´s working great. But is this working on the 6.5?
Well, can't seem to get SecondToday to load on my Touch IT WM6.5. Tried mToday too but it can't work either.

it is but it makes the system slow.....using both interface makes the system use more resources.....i think a better option is to write a mort script to switch between interfaces
I have solved the problem with TFDetacher, SPB MS3 Toggler and AE Buttons plus. The left softkey toggles Mobile Shell and the right one toggles TF3D.
I can recommend TFDetacher to be cooked into the Valkyrie series (and other ROMs with the 6.5/Titanium and Manilla combo). TFDetacher is the easiest way to use both Manilla and Titanium on the 6.5.

can you write how you did, i have try but i can't get it too work
This is my steps:
1. Install TFDetacher.
2. When it´s installed - open TFConfig and uncheck TouchFLO autostart.
3. Install SPB MS 3.0.1.
4. Install SPB MS Toggler.
5. Install AE Button Plus.
6. Open AE Button Plus and select LSK and handle by AEPlus, open application. Select Toggle Mobile Shell.
7. Do the same with the RSK but select Toggle TouchFLO instead.
Works perfect on my device running Valkyrie 1.8/WM 6.5 21812.

Titanium works fine in 1.8/21812.
With both SPB MS3 and TF3D2 running memory usage is 71% according to HTC Task Manager. Beside both I´m running Total Commander and Task Facade.
With only TF3D2, Task Facade and TC running the mem usage is 66%.
With SPB MS 3.0.1, Task Facade and TC running the mem usage is 66%.
Hibernate command in QuickMenu reduced this to 65%.
In my opinion the TFDetacher is needed if TF3D2 is cooked in. SPB MS Toggler is only needed if the user has decided to install Mobile Shell. It installs in the same folder as SPB MS - i.e cook that in isn´t a good idea because of mismatching folders.
Ergo:
*On ROMs with Titanium and TF3D2 onboard: cook TFDetacher in for easy switching.
*Don´t cook the SPB MS Toggler in - to work correctly Mobile Shell 3 needs to be present before installation.
AE Button Plus or changes in registry to bind long press on LSK or RSK to "Toggle TouchFLO" can be a good idea if TFDetacher is cooked in.
The good thing with TFDetacher is the fact it makes it possible to run TouchFLO as an application - i.e you have "two" today screens available. It can be a good idea even on 6.1 based ROMs with TF3D. Second Today isn´t needed - TFDetacher frees up the screen (and SPB MS Toggler does that too).
Edit: with CleanRAM level 1 purging the memory usage with only SPB MS3 running besides Task Facade and TC was reduced to 64%.
sjoe tht sounds good... if tht"d work without loosing speed...
any chance u can throw it in ur pot Agent?
i need to delete the mobileshell lnk in startup or???

I have 45 % when i toggle titanium, ms3 and tf3d
I was very satisfied with SecondToday on WM 6.1 but now I flashed to WM 6.5 and have a problem.
I use ROMeOS RAPHAEL WM 6.5 [v2.9.02](180709) the standard screen is the new "Windows Default" and on the SecondToday-Screen should be thinks like Spb Diary and other useful apps.
Here my problem: At WM 6.1 I had no problem with setting the left softkey to ST but now with WM 6.5 I can't set the left softkey on the Windows Default screen to ST.
Any suggestions?
There is an app, that making a tab for TF3D and you can see there your classic todoy screen

Use AE Button Plus and remap the softkey - select long press to do the preferred action. Works perfect.
That would be a solution but what's the name of the buttons below? The "Home" and the "Arrow"?

I recently Flashed to Dutty 6.5 r9
and got a little carried away
and have Touchflo detatcher
secondtoday
and ManilaToday v4.0 <-- the one that uses a manila tab
all working successfully
My take: make the TF3d home button to call 2nd today. Doesn't matter it's 6.1 or 6.5
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\Manila]
"HomeLSKPath"="\\windows\\secondtoday.exe"
"HomeLSKText"="2nd Today"
Tried that way but wm 6.5 overwrite this settings.
Uh? Thought SecondToday doesn't work on WM6.5? Last time I tried I couldn't seem to get it to work.
Arrrgghhh I am having nothing but a complete nightmare trying to skin my Kaiser. Having spent two days at it I have had to hard reset and sprite restore my phone over 6 times and I am getting really fed up with it.
I am used a cooked ROM with Manilla 2D already on it, it's Hyperdragon IV Iolite ROM (6.1)
I follow the instructions to the letter but all that results is after applying the skin I am stuck with no TouchFLO. I tap on it to launch but nothing happens and I am stuck with a kaiser that has no TouchFLO. I haved tried loads of different themes, be it in cab form or copying the ZIP folder contents directly to the windows directory and the end result is always the same, a useless TouchFLO disabled 6.1 device. Even using M2DC to restore the default backup theme doesn't work.
Any suggestions, I am getting really fed up with this.
Hard Reset?
Or try to install another Theme to see if you can get it to work again.
Btw. You don't have Operator or Myfaves, cause the don't work.
I've hard reset it 6 times. I've had to do this as I had no way to recover the M2D even after trying to use the back up. Not sure what Operator or Myfaves are but I don't have them.

Thats because if you try and enable either of those two plugins, it will break touchflo, also you are trying to use an Iolite manilla so you need a skin for Iolite manilla, most skins are for the standard manilla 2d and may not work if used on the Iolite manilla, this may be why manilla is breaking and refusing to start!

Ahh! This makes sense now! Thanks alot. Now I will try and find some Iolite manilla skins.
I've been doing custom ROM's for years. I just got a replacement Fuze because mine had the oily rectangle under the digitizer.
Totally stock 6.1 phone with ATT 5.11.00.00 ROM.
I said...."what the heck...I'll go see if the SPB Mobile Shell has improved"
Absolutely gorgeous. I disable TF3D and run the SPB MS 3.5 and it is pure SWEETNESS!
For anyone that is afraid to flash their phone...this is a great option!
For all you diehard ROMMERS you need to give this thing a look. SPB MS 3.5 is MUCH improved from version 3.
You may find out that there is no need to use a custom ROM when you see this in operation.
Very fast and very intuitive. You can master all the features in an hour or so.
EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And watch your battery drain faster then ever. I will admit it's a nice UI but it still has issues.

Does it drain faster because of the software...or because the GUI is so sweet that it makes you wanna play with the phone more?
Double Post.........delete me please.......
TF3D (Manila) is draining more battery than SPB MS 3.5.
Good thing I use Titanium then isn't it.......
SPB 3.5 and Windows mobile 6.5
Does anyone have experience using a cooked ROM 6.5 and SPB 3.5. I am doing the trial on SPB and it looks great

Yes, I'm using it with Timolol's ROM and it's working good. There are two issues however - I had to delete PositionFix shortcut from Windows/Startup in order to SPB MS display properly. Second problem is conflict between SPB MS and Rhodium dialer - if SPB MS is active, you cannot access call history and contacts from Rhodium dialer.
i used SPB Mobile Shell 3.5 until the trial period, might buy it but waiting if the fuze owners will get an official release of winmo 6.5.
I'm using SPB MobileShell 3.4 on SSK 2 ROM - works great
I haven't noticed battery drain running 3.5 on Scott Crosler's SSK from this may. Really love the new interface. Can't think of much they could change at this point being long time user of versions 2 and 3.
I really liked the 3.5.
I was using it on my WinMo 6.1 Touch Pro.
But there was a huge battery drain and every time I used the S2U locking program and Inesoft Calendar, I always got tskmgr.exe, calnot.exe, and replog.exe errors.
I gave up on it.
I may try again when there's an update, but probably not.
It would have been nice to have been able to keep it.

I wondered that myself, actually. Left the phone on my desk at 90%. Bluetooth off; wireless off; any email-pushing/pulling off. Within 30 minutes, it was at 50%. I hadn't even used it. Since I've removed it completely and using the stock HTC/Sprint thing, I'm back to being able to go all day, talking, pushing, pulling, bluetoothing, without having to charge the battery.
the new 3.5 is fabulous! Normal battery drain for me but I have been running shell for the past 3 versions. Maybe because I am using a clean (no HTC mods) and with Titanium turned off the drain is fairly low. Only 14% reduction in 9 hours of use.
Things they could add to the next version:
Ability to add more than one city to the weather app.
Slide Show option for the picture frame widget.
Skins, skins, skins...
My phone has been unplugged for nearly 24 hours. It's at 71%.
I am currently running NRG's 23016 ROM. TF3D is disabled.
The 23071 and later based 6.5 ROM's move the Start menu to the bottom. This conflicts with SPB MS 3.5's buttons on some pages. Anyone have a fix? Thanks!
I contacted SPB to see if they have a media player with album art in the works. I'll let you know the answer as soon as I get it.

running into the same thing, hope that NRG continues with the 21864 ROMS cuz i love spb... you using mskip's mods as well? very essential...
also u may want to update that signature
FIXED!!!!!!!!
Use Total Commander or File Explorer and goto your \Windows\StartUp folder.
Do you have a link called "ShowcaseSuite.lnk" ?
You can click it from Total Commander and it will give a message that says "e-Natives Suite has been Terminated".
Go back to SPB MS 3.5 and BANG!!!! Da' ***** is gone. SWEET!!!
You can delete the link from your \Windows\StartUp folder and then it won't come back(It is cooked into NRG's ROM).
Now you can use the SPB launcher. Extra SWEET!!!!!!!
I have a problem with notifications when using SPB MS3.5
When a notification pops up, lie an alarm, or new SMS, the notification popup itself is hidden, and the only way to display it is clicking on the top bar, selecting the notification icon and then it's displayed, along with the softkeys.
Anyone has a solution for this? I want the notifications to be displayed on top of the MS3.5 window...
Thanks!

The overlay of the WM6.5 taskbar on MS3.5 is probably because a version of Showcase by amarullz is installed or burned into your ROM. Deleting startup links to either PositionFix.lnk or ShowcaseSuite.lnk to terminate Showcase is a drastic measure...but I used to do it as well until I discovered the following:
If you want to prevent the WM6.5 taskbar from overlaying the MS3.5 home screen, try the following registry edit (depending upon which version of Showcase is burned into your ROM).
Look for the registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\e-Natives Technology.
If you have a folder named WM65xFix, you have an early version of Showcase_X. Open the folder...you should have a key called "WindowClasses" that has "Manila;RESCO_EXPLORER_CLASS" as the text value. DELETE the text "Manila;" (and add "RESCO_REGISTRY_CLASS" separted by a semi-colon if you use Resco Registry Editor). Soft Reset. This should take care of the overlay problem.
If you have a folder named Showcase you have the latest version called "ShowcaseSuite". Open the folder...you should have a key called "SUITE_PositionFix_WinClasses" that has a text value of "Manila;RESCO_EXPLORER_CLASS". Delete the text "Manila" and the semi-colon. (Add the value for Resco Registry Editor as above if you use the program) Soft Reset. This should take care of the overlay! NOTE: If you want the "X" icon to CLOSE the program rather than minimize, change the dword value of the key "SUITE_CloseOnTap" to the value of number 1.
Finally, if you have the older version of Showcase_X burned into your ROM and want to upgrade to ShowcaseSuite, terminate Showcase_X as described by nimrocket. Reboot. Use Remove Programs (if you can) to uninstall e-Natives Showcase. Reboot. Install ShowcaseSuite. Make registry edits.
If you don't see Showcase in your uninstall list, again terminate by removing PositionFix.lnk from your startup folder. Reboot. Re-Install Showcase_X available from here (same as link above). Use Remove Programs to uninstall. Reboot. Install ShowcaseSuite. Make registry edits.
HTH!!!
[edit] Added two .cab files as attachments. If you aren't comfortable making registry edits, use ONE of the attached .cab files depending upon which version of Showcase you have installed.
Use the WM65xFix.cab if you have the older Showcase_X installed. Use Showcase.cab if you have ShowcaseSuite installed. [/edit]
Thanks for the registry info.
Personally I couldn't see why I would want another task manager running at all when SPB has a very nice one built in that is every bit as finger friendly as Showcases.
Deleting the Showcase link doesn't cause any grief and is much easier if you don't plan on using the redundant Showcase tools. But if you want Showcase then the regedit may be for you.

You are right...and Showcase is not without a few issues (that don't affect you when you use MS3.5 and the 3D email viewer) I use Showcase because I also use Resco programs. WM6.5.1 changes the layout of the screen because of the "thinner" top bar. This causes programs such as Resco File Explorer to not display properly. I also like ShowcaseSuite because I can use it to make the "X" button terminate programs rather than minimize...so far it's the only WM6.5 tool I know that can accomplish this, but hopefully others will be developed now that WM6.5 is official!
Does anyone have a clean WM 6.1 ROM for the Rhodium? Something that has no HTC enhancements.
Like this 6.5.1 : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=551282&highlight=clean
What I actually looking for is a completely clean ROM with only QuickGPS, USB connection popup & HTC Keyboard. No other extras. Anything like that out there?
I did a lot of searching but found nothing. Ill even cook if Im forced to. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance!
There are some "LITE" roms out. But I do not think they are that stripped out (only Quickgps, USB Connection & keyboard).
Try contacting At0mang. He might be able to customize a ROM for you.
Or you can try one of his LITE roms (Fusion V5.5 Lite CHome HTC Dialer)
clean rom with Touchflo is what im looking for, either wm6.1 or 6.5.
if anyone has a link, plz be nice post them..

This rom does not support anything else but the stock hardware keyboard layout, also its based on a Raphael ROM.
Yes thing is the best alternative for WM6.1 a.t.m and its what I am using. But it has lots for things which I dont use and they just take up space. Like : RSS, Worldcard, Streaming media, Touch Off etc, and it doesnt have HTC Keyboard. On a clean start the ROM has 350MB storage space. But the WM 6.5.1 one that I linked above has 385MB (and it already has HTC Keyboard and USB popup).
Ive pmed At0mang, lets see what he says.
Please update the thread with your findings. I'm in the same boat as you. Looking for the Cleanest, Latest and most Stable build with just enough programs and cabs installed to make all the TP2 features functional with Manila 2.1.
I don't get it. I used to have a Hermes (64MB TOTAL RAM) with duttythroy's SUPA DUPA LITE (WM6.1) and after boot it would ahve 30MB Free RAM. I can't find beyond 145MB free RAM on the cleanest of the cleanest and the lightest of the lightest Rhodium ROMS, a device with 288 MB RAM (This is ofcourse with no Manila)
Do the drivers really take up that much space?

From what I know is that 288MB is not the total amount of usable RAM either. Some of it is video RAM, but how much I dont know. On the Diamond for example the RAM was 192MB. 64MB Video memory and 128MB RAM.
As for the ROM (512MB) most of it gets wasted on things I dont use. The max Ive found free in a ROM was 385MB. That was the link I posted above. Its a WM 6.5.1 ROM but as such not very stable.
I am making a list of things I want removed and others that I want kept, I will post them here as soon as Im done.
So far thanks for everyone's support.
Edit : Here is what I would like the ROM to be like
Based on WM 6.1
All HTC things removed (even thier 3G icons & Commanager, I will install my own) execpt for USB connection popup, G-sensor calibrator, Kinetic scrolling, The new bluetooth stack, HTC End key, HTC Large start menu & Camera.
Some Microsoft things that should be removed : Calculator (if nothing depends on it), Office Mobile, Windows Live & Messenger, Games, extra themes (leave only one, the default one), Ringtones (leave only one, the default one), All the non essential stuff in "My Documents" folder, like Pictures, Wallpapers, Templates for camera & MMS.
Things in the settings folder that I want removed : Encryption, Clear Storage & Connection Setup (the thing that sets-up carrier setting. These I can do myself).
Based on WM 6.5
All the above plus remove IE6 (not PIE) because most of the web plugins dont work with it and I use Opera anyway. Only reason to keep PIE is because I need it for LogMeIn. Also remove honey-comb start menu and use the default WM one.
One thing to keep in mind is that I have a Swedish Touch Pro 2. So I would like to keep the files require to do swedish input via the hardware keyboard.
I dont really think anything else could be removed without causing harm to the basic functions. Although Im open for suggestions.
So any ROM developer up for it ?
Edit 2 : Some other things that can be removed : Error Reporting, Help, Remote Desktop & Search.

reading the stickies or the million other threads with the same title might help
A standard answer to this question from my side is here.
Not much related to the main question but:
I am still sticking with 6.1 because i like the HTC Manilla start menu replacement over Windows default programs menu, and with all 6.5 ROM's there is always the Win6.5 HoneyComb start menu.
is there any way to re-enable HTC manilla programs on WinMo6.5?
I am not really sure if I understand your question correctly...
Manila is the user i/f of HTC, not a part of WinMo.
For some older Manila versions, there exist cab files to install HTC apps on WinMo.
However, speed will be much faster if you flash a ROM with WinMo and Manila inside.
There are quite a few nice 6.5 ROMs with either Manila 2.1 or 2.5 - while you
might prefer 2.1 because this one usually has the program tab separate.
On the other hand, WinMo 6.1 ROMs still feel faster, imho, and the latest ones
do come with the latest Manila 2.1, too.
What i meant is the start menu (upper left windows icon) of the Windows Mobile 6.1 and 6.5, in the 6.1 Manilla can replace it with it's applications launcher, which is usually just a tab of manilla, while on WinMo 6.5 i found no roms that can replace it, WinMo6.5 will still have it's start menu programs launcher...
Well, ok then.
WinMo 6.5 does not have any start menu which is comparable to 6.1 - it is replaced by the honeycomb screen.
If you do not like Manila, but search a program launcher like the tab in Manila, you might try other apps for WinMo, such as PointUI.

It's the contrary, i like only Manilla and don't want windows's honeycomb, i want a way to let manilla replace the honeycomb as it did in winmo 6.1.

Well, that´s what all ROMs with Manila do.
Whatever you install, as long as it comes with Manila, no need to use WinMo
(at least in most cases).

Not all, the roms that have WinMo 6.1 and Manilla it can be done, the manilla will replace the standard start menu with it's programs tab, removing the tab from the tabs bar. While on roms with 6.5 (at least those up to 1 month ago) didn't do it, the start button opened the WinMo6.5 honey comb even with Manilla installed and working, the programs launcher is just a tab on Manilla....

nope, that is not always the case

Whatever you mean, mate.
Maybe it is just a misunderstanding here. Just keep searching what you need, and either you will find a ROM, or a registry tweak.
I think what he wants is for the WM6.5 start button to launch the Manila programs tab, and not the 6.5 honeycomb start menu.
McByte: older 6.1 TF3D ROMs (or some of the newer ones, depending on the chef) launch the default 6.1 Start Menu (like Windows 98/XP) when you click on the start button.
You can ask the chefs if the can integrate the Programs tab to the WM6.5 start button, but I don't think it's possible. That feature comes from the Manila it was ripped from (e.g. Rhodium/Topaz vs. TP2/Leo). HTC provided that feature since the default 6.1 start menu was not finger friendly. 6.5 start menu is, so they didn't bother putting that in.
