APP SPB Mobile Shell V3.0 - Touch Pro, Fuze Themes and Apps

Hi,
I have a problem. I'm currently using a HTC Touch Pro and installed recentle the Mobile Shell V3.0. But I can't get back to my original (tf3d) today screen. When i try to get back, the only thing i see is the HTC Wallpaper and a shortcut to get back to spb home. How can i get to my original today screen without uninstalling the mobile shell??

SPB Mobile Schell 3
Me too!
I have installed SPB MS and when i have unistalled it the TF3D wasnt work anymore.
Someone have a solution please?
Tanks
PS: i have a HTC Touch HD with original rom ITA.

The only way I found to get both to work concurrently was to disable Mobile Shell from loading on startup. Let TF3D load, then manually start Mobile Shell after a soft reset.

Verified here too.. Then again, I don't think I'll be using TF3D anymore.

Already done! .. but SPB MS continue to start!
Any suggestion?

Hit Launcher on main menu. Find the SPB Mobile shell icon and click on it. It will direct you to a new page. Now click on the right lower aspect of the screen (right soft key). Click on "exit shell". Your touch flo should load up and there you can select touch flo or spb with ease. You do have to redo the whole procedure everytime you soft reset

All is done but TF3D dont start.
I have the left soft key "Message" and the right soft key "Spb Home" on bottom of the screen.
On top of the screen i have "Touch to start TouchFLO 3d" and if i touch the screen it say: "TouchFlo starting" but not start!
if i push the left soft key "Message" it seems "impossible open the file: MSPOUTLOOK calendar ... etc.."
I think a must do a soft reset also if i dont wont.
thanks in advance

In my opinion I would say just remove MS3... To be honest I was not impressed. at first I was like WoW how flashy..... It even built in a way to Design your own page.... but after playing with it for a few hours I took it off. It was good enough for what it was but just not there yet for me. I LOVED MS2. As long as it had Greatbal's TF2D Theme on it. The best part about it was how snappy it was. it has a great response time... But I didnt like the integration or customization of it. It does not allow to you change the items in the carousel (AKA Remove). I didnt like how you only had the "Personal" home screen that you could slide left and right... I think they should have made it like MS2 more where you could just slide left and right to get anywhere. The bottom bar is a waste of space... and the top bar should not ev en bee there. MS2 if I remember correctly covered the start menu and this one should as well... I dont like that it doesn't integrate with PI8 (but then again TF3D does not either) But my biggest concern is that it does not even allow you to put other SPB products into the carousel.
For me I think I will wait a while and let some of the GREAT designers in here fix MS3 and make it better. I think that SPB did a pretty good job of giving users what the want... but they are not quite there yet. I am going to stick with just TF3D until I see some more improvements on this product.
Have a Great day,
SoBBie

Screen Rotation Delay
MS 3 is a nice interface & I do like the carousels. The deal-breaker for me is the 5 second delay when I slide out/in my keyboard. WAY TOO LONG.

SPB Mobile Shell 3 is great but yes the delay when switching from portrait to landscape is horible! Even worse, if you are in landscape in Opera then hit the home button, SPB 3 gets stuck in landscape till you either reset or launch Opera again then switch to portrait

Touchflo for Treo 750

Anyone heard if this is possible?
Hmmm...I'm interested in that too!
I saw a repack of the requisite files floating around elsewhere - I might give installing it a shot and see what happens.
Worst case is it hard resets my device or shoots freaking laserbeams across the house, hitting my brother's girlfriend, which at the moment I would consider a useful feature...
culd some one post a picture of it running on treo 750 ?
what means touchflo? .. give me link or explanation.. thx

I went ahead and install the 5 tab htc today plugin and played around with it. Their seems to be a stability problem as the treo now would randomly reboot itself. I tried installing it after a hard reset and it seems okay but started rebooting again after installing my apps. got rid of it for now... hehe
just installed the 6 tab htc home no trouble so far awaiting the probs though
hey guys i heard that the 3 tab works with our 750...i heard it somewhere in the touch threads...btw id we install it, with a simple uninstall and a soft reset, will it get everything back to normal??? or a hard reset is what we have to do to get it normal again...btw where are you guys d/l'ing the touchflo for the 750 from???links please...
hey I have actually installed it on my Treo its loads with no probs. However there are a couple of conflicts like not being able to access the dial pad or call log via the call button. I have even experienced this error while clicking on call log or dial pad. After a little research I found it to be a conflict between the htc home and palm software. Simply clinkin on the left hand corner to initiate the x button pop up I can then click on both the call log as well as the dial pad with out a problem. As for the touch flo cube it does not fit the entire screen, I assume this to be just be the treos 240x240 screen. I also noticed the cube to be slow in it's revolving. If we can get past the conflicts and adapt the program to the treo's screen its possible we might even get it to run as smooth as it does on the artemis. I am shocked at the few interested in advancing such a feature on the treo. I am sure once the cooked roms start to surface we can truly unlock the power of the device.
which touchflo program did you load and where did you get it?
Issues...
Another issue with the Touch Flo Home on the Treo 750, is that the green and red button don't work correctly anymore...
Normally, when you press the red button, the device go to sleep mode, that don't work anymore...
When you press the green button, you don't have the menu with the last call...
That's very annoying for my part...
So I uninstall the Touch Flo Home. Try with the Kaiser's Version and have the same issue...

I installed the 6 Button Kaiser HTC home plugin on my Treo 750 and have no problems with it @ all. As for the green and the Red buttons, all u have to do is add the "Dial Lookup" to the Today screen and the green and red buttons will work perfectly.
HTC Home and TouchFlo are 2 totally different things. HTC Home is the Today Screen plug-in, TouchFlo is the 3D cube, finger scrolling etc which was 1st introduced in the HTC Touch phone.

HTC Home
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=327646&highlight=6+tab+htc+home
HTC TouchFlo is not as easy as just a cab to install. TouchFlo needs to update files on the device that can't be changed will the OS is running, n that's why TouchFlo has to be cooked in the ROM
Ok....
With Dial Lookup checked, the red and green buttons work! Thanks for that.
The problem now is that there is wasted screen real estate below the Kaiser plugin for the network carrier logo.
Hidelogo causes resets so don't bother.
and if you try to type contacts by name they go off the bottom of the screen. is there a way to use the screen better?

TouchFlo 3D + std. today plugins possible?

The touch 3D works great for me, BUT it removes all my other today plugins, which I most definitely need.
Is there any way to combine the touch 3D, and still having access to the std today plugins?
Amir.
I have the same question- does anyone have any answers to this ? For example , I want to have the RSS feeds in my home screen along with TFLO3D ? is it possible?
use ultimate launch to place touchflo3d on first page and the other plugins on the next page. you can size one page to fit the whole screen so that you can switch between whole pages with your thumb or with a click, like you want
greets, pucki
ps: if you prefer freeware you can use battery status, it can include today plugins as well but you have to create a personal theme on a xml-base. i made it for nike and elf, it should work on diamond also. i'm going to use batterystatus too on the diamond, but we germans has to wait until t-mobile sells the device on july 14th. if you can wait so long i will give you my theme
Can't get ultimate launch to work. When I activate the first screen, my todayscreen stays blanc.
The Ultimate launch is than removed from the todayscreen.
Can you explain what I have to do to make my own xml file fot batterystatus?
Thanx

Guys try this program http://www.chi-tai.info/download/SecondToday.zip and do this:
Copy SecondToday.exe to your desired location, e.g. \Program Files\SecondTody\SecondToday.exe and start the application
and then just copy the program again to windows start menu, and then add it to program list in the htc touch flo. then when ever you want it just click it.
Until now this is the best way to fix it
I went to their site I didn't understand anything. What does SecondToday do? I can get something from its name, but how does it actually work?
Direct download is impossible: go here: http://www.chi-tai.info/cs_wm_tools_im_cs.htm
basically what it does is that it is a program that opens the today screen without touch flo

is it possible to run this second today - thing in autostart without interfering with touch3d?sometimes it does not open when i execute it...
i need to keep an eye on my calltimes and umts-data because both is limited due my contract and the only tool that handles both is (as far as i know) battery status...correct me if i'm wrong. gprs counter is bundled with my diamond but it isn't able to count call times...
edit: just tested it and second today always gets closed (or crashes) when touchflo3d is enabled...i can add plugins to 2nd today but when i switch back to touchflo3d second today not listed in taskmanager anymore after a couple of seconds.

I use a program called Ariel Battery and disabled the default battery icon. Put Ariel Battery in your startup folder, you can modify color schemes, it's small and even shows you the %.

Desactivating TF3D

Hi everyone,
In order to install SPB Mobile Shell 2, to test, I wanted to prevent TF3D from launching at each startup. I know there is a way ot desactivate it but will it remove the program from the memory ?
Does anyone has an idea ? I took a look on google but did not see anything.
Thanks for your help.
Start>Settings>Today>Elements>untick TF3D......it´s just another today plugin. BTW TF3D runs fine with MS2.1 on my Diamond.
Nevertheless I have TF3D now disabled - to much of a memory hog. Back to PocketBreeze, BatteryStatus and SPB PhoneSuite together with MS2.1.

Do this to completely avoid TF3D
1. Hard Reset your Diamond (backup before of course)
2. After setting Time Zone and PIN, you see the "3 second" warning for installing HTC apps. Hit the RED soft reset button before the end of the 3 seconds to reboot. After reboot, you now have a clean WM6.1 without TF3D.
X. To bring back TF3D, just do another Hard Reset and let the TF3D install.
I do this myself and have clean WM6.1 with SPB Mobile Shell 2.1
Now I don't have the Blue-Tooth problem (due to TF3D Music Player)
And seems more memory to use than with TF3D

spb Mobile Shell vs TFL3D

Is there allready a discussion between those 2 user forntends?
http://www.areamobile.de/specials/Xperia_X1_vs_HTC_Touch_HD/Video.php
In this german comparisson between the Touch HD vs Xperia X1 the Touch HD was winning 3:2 and one reason was the better user interface of TFL3D vs the Panel system from the X1 but they have not taken the spb Mobile Shell into consideration which is available for free for the X1.
Beside that they have not rated the battery capacity, so at the end I would say that for both devices it is at least 50:50 and the user have to decide what direction he want to go - more multimedia with a bigger screen or more business with better battery and keyboard.
This is the background of my question. And I think it is a fair question because the spb Mobile Shell is free for the X1.
Claus
PS: Me personaly I am more in favor of the X1 (because of the battery and the hardware keys)

Add to that that the Touch HD TFL3D is already ported to xperia and then the whole decision is based on if you want a hardware keyboard or prefer a larger (in size) screen.
For me the hardware keyboard wins by far.

they are about the same...you can do more stuff with mobile shell, but TF3d looks better...so its a matter of taste really...just install both and try
SPB Mobile Shell seems far superior to me. TF3D is way too slow and requires several more clicks to get to where you want to go. It looks great, but also is less responsive and slows down the rest of your phone's interface.
One issue I have with Mobile Shell is that the task manager seems to have disappeared. Does anybody know how to get this back? It is still running, as I can see the icon flickr in it's spot sometimes, but for the most part it is gone. Also, I can't seem to uninstall TF3D which is ridiculous.
Task Manager will disappear when you use SPB Mobile Shell Panel!
+1, same here. The task manager icon on the right corner of the screen will disappear when switching to SPB Mobile Shell Panel. That's just a really wield bug and Xperia staff did not test it thoroughly at all before release!
Touch3d slows the phone down quiet alot, and crashes and is not 100% usable right now (some things still need more work to be done to be usable on xperia)
the spb on the other hand is faster, designed for the xperia, free. It is not impressive, but it is "efficient".
Efficiency is everything.
Sure, TF3D looks great but, as previously stated, eventually it slows down the device to the point where you just want to cry, alternatively, throw it out the window. I also suspect touchflo eats battery like crazy. Besides, Mobile Shell looks pretty good as well.
TF3D was great fun for a while but now I realize it really isnt very useful. I'd rather have quick and responsive before shiny and cool.

Indeed, me too - its the main thing that stops me settling on SPB at the moment! Ruddy stupid bug, that one!
i've figured out the solution to not having the task manager is to install aeb plus and set one of the buttons to open it's own proprietary task manager (i've set it to double click the right silver button).
works awesome and i don't have to rely on touching the corner of the touchscreen which requires using two hands.
I'm still trying to figure this out too. Very inconvenient
I think you'e missing the point.
SPB panel tries to place as much stuff as possible, into 'thum-able' icons so u can use the phone one handed without the stylus, hence task manager is located under the tool menu with large close this, close all options.
The only bug I found so far on SPB is the quick contacts, when you switch from portrait to landscape you lose the first entry in the list....very annoying.
I've used TFL3D and while very pretty the usability of SPB is greater hence i've switched back, my only requirement would be the ability to skin the SPB UI, now that would be cool
I'm experiencing some troubles with SPB, while I really enjoy using it, sometimes the phone freezes after using SPB for a while and then pressing the "panel" button.
Anybody else have this problem?
SBP on Xperia and task manager
When SBP pannel is active, the task manager is still accesible through the Button "Tools". It is removed from the corner to make it more "finger friendly". When you launch it, it displays the task list and then you have similar options than in the standard WM task manager, but arranged as a list of big buttons.
I agree that loading touchflo 3D slows down the UI (and eats 30Meg of memory). SBP is"ugly" but quick and efficent, specially if you remove the animations. However if you've used SBP in other WM device, there are lots of possibilities to customize backgrounds, colors, fonts etc. Maybe they want to get people used to it and then launch a "pro" version of the panel with enhanced look and functions (and not for free obviously)..
may i know whats the function of the Spb shell? Installed it,it's there in the settings, but no single change in the phone.
Uhhh..its a user interface. Add it to your panels and try it out.

TYVM. But how will i add it into a panel?
...push the panels button, push the icon that looks like a spanner, choose a blank panel, pick the panel you want to assign (it's in the user manual).

SPB Mobile 3 on a custom rom?

I am currently happily running smaberg’s Touch X rom, and would like to have the option to use SPB Mobile 3. However if I where to install it onto the phone would all the HTC settings get messed up and deleted? Or is it just a matter of unchecking Touch-IT in the today screen and checking SPB?
Sorry this may be a really stupid question, but one I honestly do not have a clue about.
Thanks.

Install TFDetacher and use it to toggle TF3D. Install SPB Mobile Shell 3 and SPB Mobile Shell Toggler.
Then install AE Button Plus and bind one softkey to Toggle TF3D and Toggle Mobile Shell - then you can switch with a simple softkey press.
A good advice, but it doesn't quite answer his question ;-)
"is it just a matter of unchecking Touch-IT in the today screen and checking SPB?".
---> Yes, you can just disable Touch Flo 3d in the today screen and use MS3 as replacement today screen. Or you can combine both with the advice above.
can we make spb mobile as panels?
It´s better to install a ROM without TF3D if you has decided to only use SPB Mobile Shell.
Excellent, thanks for the advice.
I assume that installing SPB 3 will not remove / bugger up any on the TF3D settings?
Also does have dual systems make the overall device noticably slower?
no because you switch off one UI so it will only run one. I think that TouchFlo is thee faster of the too, but i am not sure...
I'm running Jack's 3.8m with SPB 3.0.1. Unchecked in today the TF3D box and everything is ok. They are not interfering each other and all settings from TF3D are untouched.
