Installing games

Hi, i just downloaded space invaders game which is a PRC file, i have tried adding it to the games folder, and using the MIDlet mnger to try and find it.
Every time i try to run it i get an application error. The files are on my desktop pc, anyone know where i copy and paste them to onto the pocket pc? Have tried copying to my storage card, but still get the application error, perhaps PRC is an unsupported file type? (bit of a pocket pc noob im afraid)
Any help much appreciated.
Sorry! .prc files are for Palms!
You need .jar files to install to your midlet manager

Just got Wing ..NEED HELP !!

ok so im new to this game..ive been reading the threads and posts over and over and over again...so ive got a brand new unit so i should have to install any RUU...so i make sure im a guest in active sync..i download the RAR file for touchflo on my computer..i drag the ASerg Policies.CAB file from a folder into my Wing folder named Storage Device..run the program..then i soft reset...then from my computer i run 1_RomUpdate.bat or whatever...the Dos prompt comes up..its says press any key I do..then it makes a list of all these files and after each file it says (for example "ce_run,exe is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. ...after that i hard reset like im supposed to...for some reason it just goes back to the regular Wing interface...can someone help me out..please...i got the phone a couple hours ago and i cant put it down until i figure this out LOL..its driving me nuts
Hard Reset then redo. Or put it back to the original RUU deal then try it again.

It's not seeing the files that it calls for within that batch file. Where do you have your files stored?
what rom are you trying to flash?
I know with PDAVIET you have to aserg twice and soft reset after each.
Also, IT IS IMPERATIVE that you flash over an RUU.
as far as "ivanmmj's" comment goes..lets see where am i stashing the files..after it opens up using WINRAR i just use the directory right from WINRAR im not actually moving the files onto my hard drive....
I am was trying to install the ITOUCH FINAL V2 blah blah blah...
I installed the 5 button setup and the overclocking program with the battery indicator..
i got everything to work that just involves moving CAB files over..obviously a simple thing that doenst need a page long thread to explain how to install..
I still need help..im following directions but like ivanmmj said its not reading the files ..still need help LOL

There's your problem. You need to unrar the files to a directory. Then open a command prompt and run the batch file from that directory.

also, when i ran the .exe file, there was no "icon" created in the programs folder or start menu. is there any way to install one so i dont have to use file explorer EVERYTIME i wanna use tomtom 6?

I believe Tom Tom needs to be installed through your PC using activesync.
I dont use it though...
p.s.
all the tomtom files i had was from the old "universal" i used to play around with!
at that time, it worked fine with my wing(stock t-mobile ROM) but then i sold those two devices and then just recently, i decided to make the wing my MAIN phone again so i bought another one(lol) but now i cant get it to work!
i flashed my device with opentouch 2.7 biggy(GREAT ROM btw, kudos ttran!) if that makes any difference.

Did you even try what I recommended? Make sure all of the files are in a folder on your PC hard drive and run the .exe from there. Make sure your phone is connected through activesync.
thanks
hey thanks for your reply JLine05! that was quick!!!
ok. we'll do. im gonna try it out right now. ill post back up in a bit! thanks again, man!
ok. tried that but it didnt work! my pc says tomtom 6 is not a valid win32 app. this is with my wing connected via activesync too! hmmmm... im gonna try just separating all the items in the tomtom nav folder and put 'em out on the main dir. of my sd card.
or should should i just put the tomtom .exe file in /windows or /windows/programs or something like that and then run it???
this is also a bit off topic(sorry) but in the meantime, does anyone know how to change the clock colors? i've downloaded the files for the different colors but i cant put it in /windows! it says that the files im trying to replace is a "read-only" file therefore i cant delete/overwrite it!!!
is there a reg tweak or something that im missing???
one more thing. do you guys experience having issues turning on bt & wifi AT THE SAME TIME??? bec. see, i wanna surf the web while listening to mp3s via a2dp and i have my bt headset connected but then when i turn on wifi it just keeps on asking me for my password(wep key). i have all my wifi settings configured and it connects w/o asking for the wep(no problems) it just asks for it when im streaming mp3s to my bt headset!
as always, any help is appreciated!

Use total commander.
Find the .exe file and highlight it.
Click on File, then >>>>> (A), then choose create shortcut.
Click on Tree when the box comes up.
Click on the + to expand the windows directory.
Expand the Start Menu Directory.
Then you can point it to either programs or settings.
Now when you want to open it, a shortcut will be in the folder that you chose.

more space in stock rom???

so i was playing around with actvsysc n notice that u can explore every single file on my wing n i found some file/ringtones i dont need so i copyed all the files i didnt want.n put them in a folder in my computer called deleted wing stuff(backup) n found a total on 5.5mb of usless junk i dont need on my wing... after that i tried 2 delete eveything i didnt want from my wings memory but i get some "cant delete file kuz its under protection"momdojamdo so my question is is there any1 that has found a way 2 get around this... it would be alot easyer for me than flashing a new cooked rom n if i do this ill gain 5+mb of storage on my wing... any suggestion
No. Most of the files are cooked into the ROM and therefore cannot be deleted. The few files that aren't cooked where created when you turned on the phone and went through the setup. Unfortunately, to truly get more space, you WILL have to install a cooked ROM.

Java Games

How do you add/load Java games to the 8925 tilt which are (jar.) files? Also enabling the to launch through the Java Powered program installed on the device?
I've done it before but not lately and I don't have any .jar files on my phone so I can't test right this minute but try one of the following until it works
(1) Go into explorer and selected the .jar you want to install
(2) Start the Java program/utility and either
A - click on the .jar you want to install (if a list of .jar files is populated)
B - Click Menu > Install > Brower or Local Files
Someone else can chime in if you haven't figured it out yet

I just now ran through it to make sure I remembered what I used to know.
1. Make your self a folder (I call it Temp or the SD card).
2. Move the .jar and .jad (if you have a .jad) to that Temp folder.
3. Find the files with file exploere and tap the .jad or .jar if you have no .jad.
The game will "self install in to the Java folder in the \Windows\ root.
4. Some ROMs have no Java folder (.lnk) on the \Programs\ menu. A Java.lnk will be in the \Windows\ root though. Using Total Commander, copy the Java.lnk to the Windows\Start Menu\Programs\ folder.
Note: You don't need the .jad but it makes for more flawless installs. It contains the "road map" for the Java installer.
Hope that helps.
i tried it today and worked perfectly. dragged the .jar files and put it in my documents then i installed it and opened the java program and it was there.
but now im having a problem lol. i was going to remove one of my installed games, but then i accidentally uninstalled ALL my games, even the ones that came with the phone, i.e brain challenge, ms. pacman, solitare, etc.
i remember reading from somewhere that i can find all of those default games inside one .cab file. but i dont know where to find it in my phone.. or if someone has all the default games, do you mind sharing it with me.. thanks in advance!! need this asap lol
