Hi BA people,
I've spoken with my friend that has a Hymalaya (QTEK 2020) device, and he was joking me about all the trouble I have with the BA. It has a perfect bluetooth device that works with a lot of headset without noise, WM2005 already installed and working, very rare softresets, and spend less money than me. Amazing thing, I don't use wifi and so...
Franky, it seems to me that this device is a fake.
No people is working anymore on bluetooth that is dead by month and month, stopped at BT3900 and after 6 month I'm still unable to use my motorola HS801 headset that is lying in a corner with a lot of dust.
I was wrong when I buy this QTEK 9090, the older model was better. I think that I will not make the same error another time. Bye Bye HTC.
Sorry to hear that
I'm sorry to hear that you are not satisfied with BA. I'll admit that it has some bugs, but I'm happy since I use WiFi far more than Bluetooth. I almost bought a Treo 650 or Xda Mini, but WiFi was the deciding factor for me.
Hope they fix the Bluetooth problems with headsets though. I had a Nokia headset from my old phone and I couldn't use it with my IIs. At least sharing files through Bluetooth isn't a problem anymore.
contrary to the first poster..
i actually bought this phone knowing its problems...
Solving the problems one by one through the forums is one of the fun things that an xda2s / BA owner can do..
Everyday , I am discovering something new about the BA device.
I guess if I wanted a regular phone that already worked as it should...
I'd have sticked with my Nokia 6600.
Now I have a BA device which has inherrent problems, which forces me to read up the forums here and get really technical about the phone..
This actually made me love the phone more...
Hey guys,
It's so strange...
I know a lot of people aren't satisfied with the Phone or BT on a BA.
I have an SX-66, two weeks now, and it's working so well.
I can pair up with my BT GPS device 100% of the time, with NO problems at all. No need to repair when I turn off unit, etc. etc.
I used to have lots of problems with my HP.
The SX-66 is great.
Also, in terms of a phone, I am also truly happy with it.
I am in my basement and get 40% or 20% signal strength, and I can actually talk on it.
With my old cell phones T-616, Motorolla 720,... no way they would work in the basement.
Very strange how people have so many problems...
This device is 100% great in my books.. (and I am very very fussy!)
Also, since I installed MS Voice Command 1.5... WOW... it is easier to use than any Cell phone i had in my life!
M
I agree with the first poster - I too have a Motorola HS801 which I can't get working properly on my O2 XDA IIs. Highly annoying, but I don't want to risk buying another BT headset in case it doesn't work either!
I have had mine for almost a year now and I have had great success with it! It does have it's issues, but at least we are able to "fix" them ourselves. I use both the b/t and the wifi on a daily basis without any real problems.Btw,I use a motorola hs820 and it works very well for me.I have very few if any resets with the new radio. If I have any complaints about it,it would be with the Truefax.

I have been using a Sony Ericsson Akono 660 Bluetooth with the pda2k BT3900 radio 1.12 and firmware of 1.40 for the last 2 months and I have paired it once. It works really well. I have a coverage of about 10 feet from the pda2k in line of sight and about 4 to 5 feet if the pda2k is in the car and I am outside etc.
For those of you who are not aware of which BT headset to use. I had compiled a thread on www.clubimate.com sometime back which lists those headset (reported by users) which seemed to work and do the basics, ring when call comes in, answer or hang up the call etc.
I would suggest they you review this list before making a decision on buying any BT headset. I also believe that iMate has released a list of officially tested BT headsets known to work with pda2k etc.
good luck
I was considering the Jabra BT800 because their web site states that it's supported with the XDA IIs, but after seeing some comments from others in these forums, it's so hard to work out what to go for.
therock112, I'm sure we're all looking forward to seeing that list!
I have tried the various ROMs with my PDA2K and the BT headset (tried HS810 and 820) are so inconsistent. The BT headset is a great idea but poor with this PPC. I wonder if the Samsung i730 is my next hope.
also disapointed
yes guys to my regert i have to admit that the ba is quite a failer in all the meaning
whaen you pay for device around 700 us$ u expect a little more then we get
the bt the wifi and the problem that seem far far away to be solve so what the solution is just to show our finger up againt ba product what ever
the name is and if the manfacture and microsoft will not improve we shuld decide and if somebody want to have fun by solving problem each day he can use a simple math book!!!!!!
Hi albnigxda!!!!
Do not get nervous....I hv used PPCs since 1997, all that HP and compaq stuff,XDAI/II/IIi/mini/HP6365/ and now BA(PDA2K)
and I can assure that BA is the best....
I use SE HBH 65....no problems
Couple of times use Wi Fi at some malls and cafe shops...Just wonderful with battery and speed.
My BA has become more stable after installing latest O2 ROM and choosing the particular band frequency(1800 MHz in my case) and no bad signal problems...
Use lot lot of applications with 512 MB SD card....
With all the above and 120 calls per day on avrg with 1 hr of GPRS usage My battery lasts for 26-30 hrs(Of course, during day time I keep OFF the backlight, as I use MS voice command and it tells who is calling)
So keep.up and go ahead...u hv the Best Handset of the World....
I can tell u as I hv also used Sony Ericson p8xx/9xx Almost all Nokia symbian phones to the latest 6681.....and I can tell u none can match the preformance of BA...
I hope, this will encourage you.
Good Luck
Have pda 2k latest rom off imate site have gotten 40 feet line of site , out of site is not so good. us a jabra bt800 am on it all day i have more problems with blue tooth on my laptop then my phone have had 3 other ppcs before this one its the best by far.
Hi all
I have got Blue Angel:
ROM: 1.42.00 WWE
Radio: 1.13.00
BT: 3900
Last week I upgraded to the T-Movbile 1.42 Rom. I then installed the A2DP profile patch and was amazed that my Omiz OMS600 headphones were actually working using the high quality audio profile, and they were working very well.
The other day I did a hard reset to sort out a few things and left it at that. Later on when I came to reinstall my A2DP it wasn't working, nor was using the headphones as just a normal headset. I tried all sorts, including downgrading my ROM because at that point I was wondering whether or not it was actually on a previous version that I had it working.
Anyway... eventually I decided it was the headphones that had an error so emailed Omiz who were very helpful and sent me the download for their firmware flashing utility. This upgraded the ROM of my headphones from 1.06 to 1.25. I can now pair my headphones as a headset but not as High Quality Audio. I can get it to add a High Quality Audio shortcut in BT manager but when it trys to connect it says: "connection failed". Before it was also saying "service unavailable on device" or somthing similar.
Any assistance would be good.
Thanks a lot.

Can you, please, tell me where to find this patch?
Someone knows if it works for wm5??
Thanks!
A2DP & WM5
Hi there,
I got the patch from: ftp://xda:[email protected] Upgrades/BT profiles for build 3500/
But I'm not sure if it will work on WM5, I think I have read that it will not, this is my main reason for not moving to WM5 yet... although at the moment while i can't get A2DP working I am not much better off.
How are you finding WM5? Is it reliable enough to compete with WM2003 yet, or is there still a bit of work needed?
It doesn't work under WM5. WM5 has a Microsoft bluetooth stack, this patch does not apply.
WM5 on the BA is quite stable if you have the time to work with it. I am not going back. If somebody comes up with a BT fix for the stand-by problem that does not drain the battery, all of my issues will be fixed.
A2DP on WM5
Thanks for that... I might consider upgrading one evening when I have nothing better to do!
Do you rekon we'll ever see A2DP on the MS bluetooth stack?

Yeah I think so. Apparently it's not out in the wild yet, but w/ BT 1.2, a lot of people will be looking to do more with it.

Did you mean: "the mamaich rom has microsoft bluetooth stack". I really hope we can get WM5 with the same stack I had on w2003. (Broadcom, I think). Maybe it is out there but I can't see it...

I agree. By the moment, I'm very pleased with the performance of WM5 on my BA. It actually runs faster than w2003! And I'm beeing very objective, believe me!
I'm having a big annoyance with writting (sms, word, etc) as the spelling isn't allways what I wrote. On the SMS window, it seems the screen gets redrawn all the time and it loose some words...
The other big is not having A2DP. I think is very frustrating having such a nice machine without a good software that makes all its goodness work! :?
Some delayings on the screen repainting and (I'm using Pocket Informant) slow performance on the everyday tasks as opening the contacts list, or changing toanother program, for example...

Anybody there?
Answer is no, not possible yet.
And to the poster above - yes, just need the bluetooth connect issue solved where it drops connection when it goes into stand-by mode. The fix that drains the battery by keeping the unit out of standby mode really isn't a fix for me.
Not that I am complaining - I'm happy to be an early adopter along for the ride..

How do I enable A2DP on my BA??
Hello!!
I have searched the forum many many times and visited wiki, but I could only find 2 threads which is close to what I need to know. This is 1 of them.
I have got Blue Angel:
ROM: 1.40.00 WWE
Radio: 1.12.00
BT: 3900
This configuration came from the recently rom upgrade from o2.
It seems to me that it's possible to enable A2DP on a BA running on WM2003 SE, which allows me to stream music to a bt headphones??
However I just could not find a thread which has an instruction on how to do it. Not even on wiki. After reading some threads, I came to my own conclusion that I need to upgrade me BT to build 3900 and install a patch??
So this was what I did,
Since my BT is already 3900 "offical" version, thus I didn't do anything to it.
I d/l this file BA_OEM_AudioGW (1.33g.00).CAB (83KB) and ran it on my PPC. I then got the audiogw.dll in my windows folder.
That was all I did. It didn't work of course. I have another file, BroadcomCorp_BT1.0.0.3900.cab but didn't use it as I'm already on 3900??
So I was just hoping that someone who has done it and was successful, could point me in the right direction!!! Thanks a lot!!!
anyone tried running both cab loacted at
ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/BlueAn...age BT 1.0.0.3900 and audiogw.dll - 1.33g.00/
if it works, do let me know. I currently do not have a bluetooth headphones to test with.
I have Omiz headset (with MP3 and radio FM) and due to work with my Magician I had to manually change some registry entries. Point was that my PDA was not correctly identified as a A2DP device (only HF). I paired my PDA with normal BT dongle with A2DP profile, found registry entries with dongle mac adress and copied manually keys coressponding with a2dp service to folder with my headphones profiles. After all that it was possible to chose headphopnes in BT menager as stereo audio receiver.
Maybe its similar and u should look in registry...
jarekt, can you post those registryvalues please?!
Can't get streaming audio to BT headphones
I still have had no luck with the BA_OEM_AudioGW (1.33g 00) Cab or any registry settings under WM5.
BT a2dp WM5
have you tried the file (.cab) i uploaded in BlueAngel under uploads, it let me pair BT Stereo under wm5. Nevermind I looked someone deleted it dont know why. PM me and i can send if you want, I tried to reupload but Uploads appears broken.
I am on thesame situation of errorist.
My machine is on Broadcom 3900, and I want to make A2DP work.
If anyone can shed a light on how to make it work, I'd be very very grateful.
BTW, I have a Motorola HT820.
UPDATE:
I have installed the 3900 stack + audiogw dll even though I had a factory-installed 3900 stack, and I managed to connect in handsfree mode.
I still have not found out how to connect in A2DP mode though...
Any help is appreciated.
Hi All
I dont know how useful this is going to be, but i spent ages doing research to get my ht820 and my 02 xda 2s working properly, and when i did, i wrote a semi bad guide here
http://www.corecodec.com/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=29&expv=0&topic=2840.0
if its any use i'd be tempted to maybe write it up proper and put in in the wiki, either way, try some of the steps or files ive listed (most of them are from here)
but it gets it working with TCPMP aswell, which is a lot better than WM10 anyhow
good luck
BTW: ivans rom uses the broadcom stack, so the patch may work, however i dont have the headphones to test it with
i've onstalled this two cabs too, but new profile didn't appeared. Bay Be some registry values didn't appied? who did this patch?
I've been having some issues with my Tilt and my car's hands free setup (see: http://forums.wireless.att.com/cng/board/message?board.id=cingular&message.id=105410). The problems seems to lie with the Microsoft bluetooth stack on WM 6.1. HTC is no help with this issue so I want to take matters into my own hands. Is there a way to replace the default Microsoft bluetooth stack with another, more reliable compatible stack from a reliable company (not Microsoft or HTC)? I don't want to get rid of my Tilt, but I need it to work right in my car. I'm thinking of staying away from purchasing WM 6.1 smartphones because of this.
frustrated...
Wow, no one has answered my post here, at ATT, at Kenwood, or on tiltsite. HTC answered only to tell me that compatibility doesn't necessarily mean that it would work (bs). This is very frustrating. I've read post all over xda developers and the rest of the internet about tilt bluetooth problems yet no one has an answer. I've completely giving up on trying to get bluetooth to work right with any of my devices (car, computer, etc). I can't imagine buying another HTC product. Good luck to everyone else out there struggling to get bluetooth to work on their tilt while the motorola, blackberry, lg, samsung, and other phone users watch with amazement and pity. Keep fighting the good fight. Hopefully one of you will win. I've completely lost!
That's a pretty strange story you've got there, because I have zero problems with my Tilt and bluetooth pairing to all manners of devices... on a regular basis, I connect my Tilt to my car's Pioneer stereo deck, to my laptop and desktop, and to my wireless headphones and I've had little to no difficulty. Actually, the easiest pairings so far have been between my Tilt and Pioneer Stereo Deck... At least for basic features - in order for the phone book entries to show on the deck's LCD display it required an upgrade from WinMo 6.0 to 6.1 and then in the deck itself I have to manually download the contact book. But that's the only troublesome thing I have to do, which is mostly an advanced feature any way that I could live (but prefer not to) without.
Sucks that you're having problems, all I can suggest is make sure you're doing everything properly... I've had no problems I couldn't overcome with my Tilt and bluetooth capable devices, especially since Windows Mobile 6.1 came out.
Hi,
I'm having the same problems, also when disconnecting from the BT carstereo after a phonecall, the device freezes up.
Anybody found a solution for this problem yet ?
Ny the way, my car stereo is a JVC KD-BT1

@k4ever: Have you checked out this thread?

From what I can tell, they've ported the Widcomm BT stack to the Hermes and TyTN, so I imagine it's not far off from the Kaiser/TyTN-II, if it doesn't already work (my BT is working fine, so I'm not too likely to mes with my phone to find out-- but I hope this helps!)

EDIT: Here's a CAB from the newer threads of the above post:

Wow, thanks for the replies.
@ceosion
I got it working with a Pioneer deck in Best Buy. I was actually debating buying one, but I paid $500 for my Kenwood setup. All of my other phones work with it, to include other WM phone (not from HTC). I contacted Kenwood, but I have not recieved a reply.
@Weasel5i2
I tried the Widcomm stack when I used the stock ATT rom. It completely disabled bluetooth on the Tilt. I will try it with the PDA Corner rom I'm currently using (the best!) after the holiday weekend.
Thanks again for the replies!

I am experiencing Bluetooth connection issues between the Tytn2 and a kenwood DNX8220BT As far as I've heard from kenwood the Tytn2 is only supported with the older version of Windows Mobile (6.0)
I've also tried the Kenwood with my wife's Touch Diamond (Also HTC but other CPU, don't know about the BT radio though) but that one is also experiencing trouble. I didn't get any indication when they would have a new firmware version ready.
You did indicate that you also tried another WM phone, which version of WM does that one operate on?
@Mautje
The other WM phone was a Samsung Blackjack II running WM 5. I downgraded my Tilt to the default WM 6 Rom from ATT, but I had the same problems. I'm running the PDA Corner WM 6.1 Rom now. Does matter which ROM I use, I get the same results on the Tilt.
widcomm stack a no-go
I tried the Widcomm stack. It did not work at all. Kept getting error that "there was not enough memory to run, please reset device" or something to that nature. Could not uninstall so I had to re-flash my ROM. Back to square one.

To bad. I was also looking into the other roms on this forum but it wil probably not work..
Kenwood is reporting that it should work with the rom version mentioned in the compatibility sheet.
In the sheet for version 1.43 firmware there is no mention at all of a rom version just the Tytn2.. I guess that's the WM 6.0 version
Can Anyone Help Me To Find An Working Broadcom Bluetooth Manager Stack For My Xperia?
any wm5+ version would work
I'd suggest you search the forum with those keywords
but to tell you the truth I haven't come across any braodcom stacks
since wm2003SE so not 100% sure there are any but haven't really looked that hard
Out of curiosity, what functionality are you hoping to gain by switching stacks?
will
i tryed hard looking for keywords using google and i have seen many CABs but they didnt work because of the license,
and sonus i think that Broadcom Bluetooth Stack its much more professional than the normal ,i think Broadcom Stack has much more bluetooth plugin`s than the other plus you feel free when using it
so anyone have a idea where i can download it free and it must be for wm 6.1 or 6.5
There was a working cab to change Dell X51v MS BT stack to Broadcom. But you probably need some hacking in order to make it work for other device. Broadcom stack has more profile but also has it's own problems (e.g. system volume control is not working over A2DP). Do a search on TP2 forum (since it's using broadcom stack) and you will find out.
Why would you want a Broadcom stack? I spent 2 months trying to get a Microsoft Stack on my A696 which only supports Broadcom. It was a frustrating and fruitless exercise, though I did manage to get an upgraded version of Broadcom working at one point it didn't work very well and didn't do anything my old version didn't do already. None of the Microsoft ones would run at all though, and I tried just about every trick possible.
With the Microsoft Stack you can use fun things like Bluetooth Mice and Keyboards - something not yet supported by Broadcom stacks. I'd stick with that imho - its quite fun and useful
That search to try to get a bluetooth mouse to work with my A696 PDA is why I'm registered as pdamouse...

It might help solve the disconnect issue with WM devices and several handsfree devices.
I just tried one of the WM 6.5 Roms on my Kaiser (TYTN2).
It will still disconnect the headunit in my car (Kenwood DNX8220BT) after a call is finished. I was hoping WM6.5 would improve the Bluetooth stack.
I also have an Experia X1 which is exhibiting the same issue

Not wanting to came across as a seller, but have you heard of Teksoft BlueInput?
They're almost there!
How do I know this? I'm the one who asked Teksoft to build such a a program!
Been using several HID devices with my MS bluetooth stack WM phones, last years. Even a Logitech diNovo Mini, a "small" keyboard with touchpad.
Not sure if anyone out there is aware, but a lot of people (myself included) have been having some problems with the Widcomm bluetooth stack that is being used in the Rhodium (touch pro 2, tilt 2) and i possibly the Topaz (Touch Diamond 2/htc pure). Does anyone know if it would be possible to take a the MS bluetooth stack that has been used in other phones in the past, such as the touch pro from last year, and cook it into the newer touch pro 2 ROMs?
Bump. I'm interested in this question as well.
i am interested 2 because older htc bluetooth stacks are working for me
Count me in. I would also like to see this cooked or even some solution for those of us who want to change to older one.
I don't think that drivers are available. I'm not sure, but I don't beleive any Rhodium ROM (even the early dev builds) had M$ stacks.

Hey Sleuth!!!! Good to see ya, been awhile!!!
You may bve able to use the different stack. There are other BT stacks that were installable via cab for devices past. However, as Sleuth pointed out, unless you have access to device specific drivers it will take a bit more work than just cooking in an available package from a previous device package.
Give it a try. If you know about disassembly, try to compare the stacks. Just remember that there are not just the BT drivers you need to worry about, but also all of the shared resources that the driver uses or is used as for some audio functions, in example.
Just a note, but plenty of people had problems when they switched to the Microsoft stack in the titan, TP, etc. The fact that they switched back to the Widcomm stack was a blessing for A LOT of people who weren't able to use their last gen devices with many Nissan and Infiniti vehicles with both bluetooth and navigation. It just didn't work for us before the TP2 came out, unless you kept your old HTC Apache for this long.

yeah, I was almost ready to jump ship to android or even iPhone but then the Rhodium appeared. This is a bonafide cool gizmo the likes of which I have not seen since my Palm TT3.
MS BT Drivers
I would also love to have the MS BT drivers in the Rhodium. with Widcomm the voice dialling does not work properly, the phone does not connect to my Win 7 laptop. All this worked just fine with my TyTn II.
Yep, would be nice...
Driving a Volvo with BT, and up to now, I could pair it with my O2 Atom Life, HTC TP and a lot of other phones & PDA's.
Since i have the TH2 though, i can't get the sound working while trying to do a hands free call.
Recently I found a workaround by disabling the Data Connection in Comm. Manager, but this still stays a cumbersome solution.
I would appreciate the old MS BT stack of the TP on my TP2 as well
Iam not sure... about this but what i know is the devices which use generic bluetooth stack (microsoft) has bthuart.dll in oem drivers and bluetooth packeges in sys atleast thats what i have in my device..
