Hello guys,
I'm a newbie to this techy world I would really appreciate assistance with the following.
I successfully unlocked my Touch HD using a code from a retailer. After unlocking, the phone was left in the box as brand new for around 2 weeks. After that, I decided to use the phone and when I switched it on, the phone goes to the Smart Mobility screen, vibrates anfd the then it restarts. This process continues indefinitely.....
Could someone please help? I have a brand new phone which isnt more than a brick right now
Many thanks in advance

here also you can try entering boot loader and flashing a new rom. Here is how to enter it.
keep volume down pressed, reset with stylus and you should enter tricolor bootloader. When you see the tricolor release the volume button and then you should be in the boot loader mode. Then you can flash via USB, or using your memory stick
thank you so much
you guys are life savers thank you thank you thank you
k i am glad to hear that the hard reset worked like i told you.
Hello guy,
After flashing new rom (official release) on my Blackstone, works fine for a month, after start the home screen being black like the phone is off but he was not. I try first hard reset from the button located next to the sim card, splash screen appears after went black again. I did not realized is a problem with the screen and I perform a hard reset (volume up+down & power up) . The phone perform the hard reset because I heard the power up sound, plus for about one minute I have the screen on, asking me to make the screen line up. During the screen line up the screen went black again and no way to see it showing something again. The problem is in active sync the phone is not recognized anymore, I can't flash it again (I try run RUU but give a error message to connect the phone) plus I'm going blind without seeing anything on the screen. My question is there is any way to solve this problem.
Thank you in advance.
Although screen is black, you should still be able to get into bootloader by normal procedure (turn off device, hold vol down & then press power on). Once in bootloader try flashing (you may wanna try returning phone to stock rom as it sounds like your screen has become loose from motherboard and needs fixed under warranty).
To return to stock rom follow guidelines at bottom of first post in this thread.
Still not working
Thank you for the quick reply, I manage to flash it again with the original rom, but nothing happen, the screen is still black. Probably as you said is something wrong with the display. Another problem is I don't have any more warranty; maybe there is a solution to solve the problem?
The Blackstone is out for less than one Year. Your should really have warranty. oO
Yes you wright but I’m 10000 km from home where who knows where the receipt is. Still hopping there is a solution, maybe I can fix it somehow. By the time I get home the waranty is gone. Thanks.
open it up, and attach the ribbon cable back in, just take your time if you need the htc touch hd service manual, i have it. if you wish to use it let me know i will post it here.
That is going to be a big help because I never open up a phone, I watch couple of times some videos on you tube but that’s all about. Anyway I have to open it because I flash it with 3 different roms and still the screen is black. Even when flashing does not showing anything on the screen. I remember for my old blackjack I had a app called My Mobile to see the screen on your desktop I install that I so the splash screen , the align the screen but I couldn’t go more taping the screen of the phone by looking to the desktop.
Thank you for your help and I waiting for the service manual.
Thanks’ one more time.
You can get the service manual here: http://htcdriver.com/index.php?page=htc-blackstone-touch-hd-service-manual

Thank you,
First I have to find a place where I can buy the tools, probably in couple of days I let you know about the evolution of the HTC operation.
You dont have the possibility to contact youre retailer and require a copy of the receipt?
Since the phone got an IMEI number, you could probably just send them the phone and they'll see that you still have warranty on it.
I'd call them before sending the phone, also.. don't forget to restore the spl etc..
It started as soon as I received a phone call from my brother and we were in the middle of a conversation when the phone suddenly goes off. I tried to restart it, I even removed the battery and replaced it but when I press the power button I get the initial boot sequence showing the htc logo and then the phone would just go of. I thought that maybe the battery is low but when I plug it to a power outlet it keeps trying to boot but keeps switching off and it just does this over and over.
Please I don't know if anyone has encountered this problem before, I really don't know what to do.

Try a Hard Reset using the device buttons:
1. With the phone off. If it’s frozen or unresponsive, pull then replace the battery.
2. Press and hold the Volume Up and Volume Down buttons and power the phone back on.
3. Continue to hold Volume Up and Volume Down until a factory reset screen appears.
Hope this helps!

Well I just did that but the problem persist. I should note that occasionally it does complete its boot up and I can use the phone but it can go off at any time and once it does this, i cannot get it to completely boot up. Once it attempts a boot up and goes off I cannot even restart it by pressing the power button until I replace the battery or plug it into a power socket or the computer at which point it will just keep booting up and shutting down.
Something far wrong there. Get a replacement device.

Hi, I have got the same problem on my HD7 and I am completely noob to many new words Goldcard, jailbroken, etc. Would you please advise me exactly what you did (i mean flahing procedure) and really appriciate any help.
Well if you have got an O2 HD7, then I would advise you to get one of the O2 ROMS from ansar, download it then press and hold the volume down button when booting up your device, connect the phone to your pc and start the app. More instructions in the HD7 development thread.
There's nothing wrong the phone. Don't hard reset or flash it. It happens from time to time, just give it some time and eventually you will see a battery icon appear. Then after awhile it will boot up.
Again, do not flash or hard reset just be patient. I believe it just needs to drain all the way down as it doesn't have enough power to fully boot.
Not booting up
Hi,

Hi all,
I have purchased a HTC One while in US a month ago from AT&T. I am now in India and the device worked perfectly fine until two weeks ago, it switched off automatically.
I tried a lot of combinations mentioned in the forums and also contacted the customer service (both in US and India) and they requested me to try holding the Power and both Volume buttons at the same time for 2 minutes. I did this for 10 minutes and it won't work.
When I connect the phone to Wall socket charger, the LED won't lit up. When connected to my laptop, the windows O/S makes the connected sound but nothing happens.
I really appreciate any help in this matter. Thanks in advance.
Kind regards,
Krishna Menon.

Press and hold the power+volume down buttons. Once the home and back button lights start flashing, keep the power+volume down buttons pressed and plug it into your pc.. It'll connect and install necessary drivers and your phone lights will stop flashing, and it will eventually boot up in hboot.
It may take a few tries
Ps: Always use the thanks button

Nothing happens when I press and hold the power+volume down buttons. I held it for 10 minutes. When I connect the phone to computer, it was detected as qhsusb_dload. When I searched about this issue on net, many posts say the phone is bricked and can't do anything about it.
Anyone help me how to unbrick my phone? Appreciate the help.
Thanks & regards,
Krishna Menon.

Hi nkk71,
I tried this method without any success. When I contacted the HTC global support, the support person did mention this method. I tried holding the power + volume up + volume down buttons continuously for 15 minutes and nothing happened (my fingers hurt afterwards, #on a lighter note)

Unfortunately "qhsusb" is usually a hard brick and needs a motherboard replacement
for one (or two?) people, the phone miraculously came back on for no apparent reason (if memory serves, for one guys it came back when the alarm rang the next morning), but other than that it's usually considered a hard brick, and needs hardware fix.

Thanks nkk71 for this quick response. It's very unfortunate that my phone requires mother board replacement.
I loved the phone a lot. Now, I have to shell around 15K I believe.

No warranty? Sorry mate
you could leave it in the charger for a full day, and see if it comes back to life, and power it completely off while charging, not just the screen off.

I bought this from one of my US friends and now in India and I wasn't able to properly contact him. Lesson Learned for life. Not to purchase without proper documents.
I have put the phone charged for straight four days without removing in the wall socket. Nothing.

So I've been reading around, and came across QPST, and some guys have unbricked a hard brick using this tool. Is it possible to somehow make it work for the One?

Don't know what QPST is but i do remember there was a tool a while back for other phones to fix the Qualcom_HUSB mode, but I don't think it was ever updated for the One.

I'll take a closer look later, but if it was available/working for the HTC One, then i'm sure someone would have mentioned it by now.

I followed the steps mentioned in one of the posts on QPST; but as my phone was not detected, the COM port was stated as Not Available in the QPST configuration s/w. Don't know what else to do.
I thought I would add to this thread an obvious step that sometimes gets forgotten.
I assume you attempted to charge your device in multiple sources: wall outlet, computer, etc.
I suggest you try some more, ideally varying cables and power adapters.
I experienced too many times - and even once with the one - the same exact brick you're describing and most of the times, the only solution was the above: find a combination to charge the device when its battery is completely depleted as in this situation they're more picky as to the source of power

Hi guys. I need help ASAP. I purchased a RP2 and I'm experiencing the following: randomly my phone screen won't turn on after I lock it. When the screen is active and I'm using the phone everything is okay, the problem appears when after I'm done and I lock it sometimes it won't turn on (the phone is still on, buttons vibrate and it makes sounds). The only """"fix"""" is to hard reset it by holding the power button for a couple of seconds.
I TRIED EVERYTHING! Restoring the phone to factory settings, flashing official Android 9 ROM, downgrading to Android 8.1 and the problem persists! I don't know if by installing an unofficial ROM would solve this or if the flex from the screen is loose so I gotta tear it down and reconnect it.
There's no way for me to RMA it since 1) warranty is void and 2) I'm from Argentina.
Please guys I beg for help I dont know what to do. Thanks for reading
