ActiveSync Whilst Roaming - Touch Diamond2, Pure Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Just wondering if it is possible to sync my outlook emails, calendar items etc.. with my home pc whilst roaming?
Basically i think im looking for an alternative to an exchange server that can be setup on a vista pc, which i can then create an activesync server connection to on the D2
Is there any software like this available?

wing excange

hi.
i have the exchange email(4smartphone) all set up and working fine.
the only thing is if my computer restarts during the day(i have outlook on the start up list on the desktop) it asks for the exchange password. since no one is home during the day to input the password, i cant receive any exchange emails to my wing.
is there any fix to that?
Really, there's no connection between your desktop email and the Exchange Server Push Email on the PPC. If your Wing's Exchange server settings are done right, you should definitely receive email whether or not your desktop is on or connected to the Exchange server.
Have you setup your Microsoft Exchange server settings right in ActiveSync on the Wing?
yes

yes i did set it up on the wing.
Yeah it shouldn't matter at all. I use 4smartphone as well and have my account set to sync on two computers, a desktop and laptop and my P4350. Some times a couple days elapse before I will even use my desktop or laptop.

well, i have it set up and working fine, but, if my computer restarts during the day, when i am not home, the desktop asks me for exchange password, and if no one is home to do that, i cant receive my email to my wing. do u have the same problem?

Something is screwy then because your phone and desktop have no connection. Exchange service works by having a central server that holds all the information; when your phone syncs or your desktop syncs it speaks with the Exchange server and nothing else.
Does the email address you use for your wing differ from the on on your computer? If this is the case it might be possible that you have Outlook syncing with the Exchange server but then automatically forwarding emails to your Wings email address. This isn't how it's supposed to work though.

Kaiser and Outlook Web Access

hi guys,
I would like to use my kaiser with outlook web access which my company has. Does anyone know of a good interface software which can provide me with this feature?
If you have OWA that means you have Exchange server, so why not just set up Exchange ActiveSync?
try http(s)://exchangeserver/oma/ in IE
As a poster above said, it's much nicer just to use ActiveSync and get it to sync automatically with Exchange - if you have OWA configured on your network, 9 times out of 10 it will work right off the bat - just open up Activesync on your device and select Menu -> Configure Server... and follow the prompts. It's pretty good and is much quicker than running OWA in your Pocket Internet Explorer...
Edit: I forgot to mention that your Exchange administrator will have to configure this on their Exchange server - if they have Exchange SP2, it's quite easy and requires no more config on the firewall than has already been done for OWA. Don't know what kind of organistation you work in, but it's worth a question to your IT department.

Outlook2007/Activesync emailproblem

At work i synchronize and update my Wings with Exchange (through Onebridge). At home I want to synchronize my wings with a home pc, I want to update the home pc with email, calendar and contacts from my Wings. Once connecting Wings to the home pc usb-cable, ActiveSync starts to synchronice, and synchronizes calendar and contacts to the home pc Outlook 2007 perfectly. A checkmark is also put on "Email", but my email is not synchronized and updated in my home pc Outlook 2007! Why is that? Could somebody please help me out?
Are you using the same version of outlook at work as you are at home? 2k7? I know with word 10 if you save it as a docx it will not open in the older systems and your phone might not be registering outlook 2k7 for some reason?
Just a thought.
The only connection my wings has with Outlook is at my home pc, through ActiveSync. At work I synchronize directly with Exchange, not with Outlook.
This is what i want for contacts, calendar AND EMAIL:
Wings -> ActiveSync -> Outlook2007 (at home PC)
But only contacts and calendar is synchronized, email is not. Why is that?
Hmm I dont sync anything so I cant help too much, but with the phone connected fire up active sync and under the tools > options there are a bunch of check box's for what you want synced, make sure email is checked and anything else pertaining to it?
I have tried checking and unchecking those boxes...., tried reinstalling outlook2007, reestablishing the activesync connection... still only contacts and calendar are copied to outlook2007.... email is not.

Outlook Anywhere

Anybody knows how to get this working on my Diamond
Thx !!
-Dennis...
Outlook anywhere (feature of exchange 2007) is the new name for RPC over HTTPS (exchange 2003) which is how microsoft outlook for a PC desktop connects and syncs with an exchange server.
The PDA equivalent is pushmail, which works a treat !

Go to activesync (on the Diamond, not your desktop). You likely get something saying you want to synchronize with Exchange server, otherwise look in the menu's.
Fill in the details. Remember that if the Outlook webaddress is like ht*ps://exchange.mydomain.com/OWA fill in only exchange.mydomain.com
Be correct if SSL is used etc and fill in other account details.
Be sure a wifi or GPRS/G3 connection is active. Select synchronize. Most likely you get a message saying that the Exchange server must set a security setting on your device. Allow it and it strats synchronizing with Outlook Anywhere.
Quite easy to setup.
You can also set it up via ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center on your PC. Select there to synchronize with Exchange server instead of your PC.

X1 outlook msn and some more questions

Hi,
As Im still new user of x1 ( have it only couple of days), I have some problems that I need help with.
First of all , at my PC i use mozilla thunderbird for email client, but I believe it doesn`t exist for winmo 6 platform yet, so Im doomed to Outlook which actually I really dont like (at least PC version). If u have some suggestion for an email client , pls say so.
Nevertheless I tried configuring outlook and the point is , and I have also that problem with the Windows LIve Messenger, that when is connected through ActiveSync it can connect to mail and msn , and when Im on GPRS or EDGE , mail and msn doesn`t work. Just say the connection cannot be established.
But Opera and may other things work online, like google maps, gps and such.
Is there some special settings for it to work.
The other question is for PocketVNC users. I installed the server side on my pc and client side on my X1, and when I try to connect it says colors mode is not ok I should change to 8 bit in options.
But on client side there is no options or I cant see it....
Or would u recommend me some other software for remote desktop ?
Still have the big problems with the mail and msn settings.... can anyone help me ?
Whenever using internet over activesync it works, but when on GPRS/EDGE it doesn`t.....:S
For msn it says : There is a connectivity problem. Make sure you`re in a area with a good reception and try again.
It connects to my network, EDGE starting and then this message. Of course I have the best reception possible, signal at the max.
for mail it says: cannot connect with current connection settings.
Which is ridiculous cause its set up right for surfing, gps, irc client and remote desktop.
Just mail and msn doesn`t work.
Can u recommend me some other mail client if that could be the problem ....:S
thunderbird sync
http://www.google.dk/search?source=...pc+sync&btnG=Google-søgning&meta=lr=&aq=f&oq=
about your network only working when connected to activesync
then I'd say that your gprs settings are not set
you have to set ap and in some cases user name and password to access internet over your phone
