Battery Status?!? - Touch Diamond2, Pure Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Any easier way of checking the battery status then going through to settings > power management etc?
Any short cuts like there was on the diamond1?

you can use Batti 2.4
it will display the battery status on top of your screen as seen in the screenshot here, and you can customize it as you like (color, height etc):
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",

}

Batty is fine but thats an application and applications consume memory.
I would recommend FInixNOver VGA Battery status.
Something that I use for a very long time. Works perfectly and this is not an application.
It’s just aesthetics, so no extra memory will be consumed.
DL and install cabs in this order::
1. sdkcerts.cab
2. FInixNOverBattery.cab

wow thats even cooler, thanks buddy!!

Me too

nice ive just installed this too

I'm still with Batti... the other one looks ugly to me.
I liked the battery indicator from QuickMenu:
But you can't only use the battery indicator.. you have to use the QuickMenu, which is very nice too, but not finger friendly...

I will try too

That's nice, but when I was using the HTC Touch / ELF, I was able to use the app BatteryStatus. There I could also reduce the CPU speed so battery would last longer. BatteryStatus is not working on the TD2

I seem to be having some problems with this, every time i fully charge my phone the battery indicator sticks at 100% and doesnt move from there unless i soft reset the phone. anyone else getting this problem?
Any solutions out there? really like this app, would hate to have to uninstall it.

Just to confirm that there are no problems as you described. Used this on my TD1 since day 1 and now on my TD2 without(100%) any problems...
To make sure I have just tested your scenario and left the phone on the table for 3 hours without any activities (no tel.conversation, no internet-). Than it just went from 100% to 99% ...
Have in mind that I am not using any other third party energy management or taskbar theme application.
Also, "FInixNOver VGA Battery" is not an energy management application. Its not even an application. It’s just changing the default visual reporting of the batt status. Try this thread here but they might just confuse you.

[APP]QuickCal - dedicated to HTC Diamond, Quick view to 6 calendar events!

Hi guys,
I've finally came up with a piece of software that will enable you to view up to 6 calendar events on one page. This software was done to counter the lack of calendar events shown on the first page of TouchFlo3D.
Updates: QuickCal v1.2
Fixes/improvements:
>Smaller filesize ~300kb
>Added Tasks page to show incomplete tasks
>Does not show "done" appointments from today
>Added quick menu to access pocketOutlook Calendar/Tasks
>Design change, to suit TF3D
>All in a *.cab installation package
Bugs/Glitches
>Uses up about 2MB+ memory while running
>Skips some full-day appointments
As for the problems stated above, I need you guys to evaluate for me. There were some full-day appointments that the app missed. These are really old recurring ones. When I create a new similar appointment, it works. I have no idea about this behavior, but I'm trying to find out.
As for the 2MB memory usage in the background, I'll need an expert on this. Don't know how to reduce this. It doesn't bother me though.
Here are the screens:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
You can download it from below!
Remember, do post your comments/bugs!
Thanks!
-----------------------------------------------------------------
version 1.1
Here's a screenshot:
The design has been matched to the Diamond's and is specifically coded for VGA devices only. It's been tested on the Diamond, of course
The Exit button does not close the app, but it minimises it. It's recommended to leave the software running in the background, so as to have quick access the next time you invoke it. The page will refresh each time you view it, so you're assured of latest appointments upfront.
Like I mentioned above, this app takes quite a while to load (abt 5secs++) if run fresh. It's my first PPC coding attempt, so perhaps it's not optimised yet
You can download the app below. Simple installation instructions are included. You'll need .Net CF. Tested on v3.5.
Lastly, it's a freeware ..and do post your comments.
Cheers!
Beautiful and very useful.
Could you make the Exit button match the phone buttons on the Diamond, please (the red gradient)?
Hi!
Nice job.
Request:
- Can apts made to be scrolled like other lists in Diamond? With my finger?
- Can we include Tasks/ToDo lists from Outlook Mobile? Eg: on another tab? I really miss this one!
- I guess there is no option to incorporate it into TF3D. No plugin structure...
Keep up!

I already have a matching Exit button, but the problem is, I can't get the rollOver effects done. The image does not change. (I have both ON/Off images), so after quite a while of trying, I decided to release it as such and work on it later on.

My goal is to make the app fade/scroll in like HTC's SIP selector... but that's kinda far-fech for a newbie PPC programmer like me. I'll pursue for answers in time to come.
Task lists? I might be able to get those on on another tab or something. I seldom use the task feature, so left that out for now.
TF3D seems to be 1 whole complete application with no external access for now. I wish it could be incorporated into TF3D
Experts, if U guys can help me out in the requests, it'll be good. Also, I wanna know how to optimize the code.
Thanks guys for the comments and keep'em coming!
Please note that the program's icon is not transparent, it has a black background...
I have to say I really like the program. Once the 3 remaining isuues are solved, it will be really great. As a reminder, these are:
Faster loading time
Matching red Exit button
Including ToDo's
Thank you for your effort
Oops! I see a bug. For some reason, I get appointments displayed, but NOT the next ones! It jumps quite a few. Could you please check that out? Make sure all day events don't cause you problems...
instead of that huge exit button (which makes you think your TD will explode when it's pressed), why not putting "exit" on the right side of "about" ?
Good job!! Thanks!!
Suggestions:
1. Show month and date. Now I only see the date.
2. Scroll bar perhaps?
3. Black background, for fitting the whole HTC Diamond outlook.
4. Intergrate into the TouchFlo 3D (perhaps too technical requested )?
A beautiful application!!

Could you help me identify what causes this? I've tried multiple all-day events, and they all seem to show with the start time of 12AM.

That's a great app, I don't get why there's no native way to see upcoming appointements in wm6 calendar, except by using normal today screen
One off-topic question :
What app do you use to have the open apps in the status bar like in your screenshot?

It's called WkTask. Great task manager.
You can view your calendar items on your default calendar, but there's no quick view to tell you what are your next x appointments.
Thank you, I just tried that task manager it's great, but I think I'll stay with the original one which is more simple

Erm, I wouldn't advice replacing the WM6 calendar with this app. This app is just a viewer, nothing else. The WM6 calendar is the real thing which allow you to add/edit/del appointments.
If youre talking about changing the Calendar link on the TF3D screen to this app, I'm not sure how yet.

Don't worry. You have to make a choice.
I appreciate your hard work and like the idea, but MAN your design is ugly.

Recepie for speed.

Ok boys so after a week with my baby I am satisfied 90%.
Satisfied with looks, speed and stability.
This might not seem great to some of you but it might help the rest of yaaa.
So:
1. Roms:
-->Tried absolutely all the cooked ROMS all, all of them had issues of various types, yes its true that some were faster and lighter but had stability problems. The only ROM that mixed efficiency and stability was Elite 2.0.
2. Tweaks:
-->Tried all, but go the best results using:
-Using Advanced Config, change File system cache to 8mb and file system filter cache to 131072.
-HKLM\Software\OEM\TFLOSettings:
SpeedHigh: default value (25) <-- Change to (5) / SpeedLow : default value (70) <-- Change to (14).
-Disable all startup items.
-Error reporting disabled and beam disabled.
ADD 10 Megs:
Thanks to Mr. KukurikU, for the heads up.

BATTERY: and Off with EDGE auto attach.
Using Schaps advanced config turn off GPRS auto attach GREAT battery life after that. You will notice a Grey E icon(no data flow) instead of the shiny one before.
When you require edge it does auto connect. When your done with your data session, go to settings cellular/radio comm,not the data comm. Turn it off and then back on again. You will notice the Grey icon is back (resuming data dlow of). Keeps alot of batss.
Must Have:
Mr. Sushilange's Config tool for touch flo 3d (manila)
One last tweak that really tied everything up was using the Schaps advanced config I changed the Touchflo Pressure Threshold to 1. This makes the screen very sensitive thus creating a very quick interface. Responding the milli second you touch it.
Well boys thats it hope it helps someone. Ill add new stuff if you guys thinks its pertinent. Just make a quick guide

Ill give it a try tonight. (Wednesday night)
After
Thursday afternoon:
Mr. KukurikU:
I like the 10meg boost, overall the phone feels much faster. Im defenetly keeping this tweak, besides the skin on the stock WM6.q is not bad, and it loads quickly.
Thanks for the tip! Great one! Im definitely including in the list of tweaks.
Lucks for you dude! Thanks again.
10mb is quite much ...
Bad programmed phone skin there?
The original one is not that bad looking anyway. And now 'pin' entering and the normal keypad are the same.
Lots faster indeed! And: I got the option 'video call' also in normal phone skin?
Insane, I got after starting up and TFLO3d enabled 48% on original HTC rom of free ram...

Easy:
just re-align screen by touching the screen VERY GENTLY, just press a tiny bit harder until it gets recorgnised.
Screen calibration is also sensitivity. I do it this way.

In my experience, its often bad app programming/app incompatibility that causes a lot of device crashes. Review what apps you have on there and decide if you REALLY need them, if you don't, remove them and see if your device is a little more stable.
Thanks for the tips though, my device should be with me today/tomorrow and I will be taking a close look at your tips - specialy your opinion on which ROM to use as I was currently reviewing all the related threads.
P.s. please dont run off topic but, does RUU now work on Vista and ideally, Vista 64? Thanks!

I tryd this option.
It turnes grey for a second, and then it just connects again like normal.
Then i go to commmanager and disable data connection.
then the connection is off, but the icon remains white instead of going grey.
and... when i make use of the data connection.
Do i have to turn it off my self everytime? (in the commmanager)
thnx

Okay my bad you dont have to turn off data comm. You have to turn off Cellular comm, in other words the phone logs off from the cellular radio and then back on. Then youll get the grey icon and it will stay like that as if though you soft reseted the Diamond. And yes everytime you use it you must disable it manually (no big deal)
Hope it helps! Luck dude!
About the phone skin. If you disable this, you will not be able to adjust the volume in call while using your headphones..

Manilla2D + Quickmenu = Divorce

Once upon a time there was a tiny little application called Quickmenu: it used to do everything I expected from a Start Menu, a launcher, a battery meter, a Task Manager.
Then came Manilla and her powerful UI "occupied" the upper right corner of the screen. Now I can't use the QM's main feature (the battery indicator) 'cause, even disabling Taskmanager, the corner doesn't show the battery meter.
I know it's minor bug and probably no one noticed it.
Just asking if there's someone around who's been able to solve this.
Thank you everybody.

Nice little story I hope it has a happy ending lol. Unfortunately QuickMenu battery meter will never work with Manila2D. Try installing this battery meter its not the same as QuickMenu but it has a percentage reading which is invaluable for me and it gave me a happy ending:

Yes! I've been missing this ever since I started using M2D. I loved the percentage battery meter that QuickMenu had, so this is much appreciated. Thanks a bunch!
The battery meter worked for me with QM and M2D installed but since I don't like QM's meter over the taskmanager I disable it.

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only person that feels this way. I freakin' loved the Quickmenu's battery status indicator. I prefer being able to see the exact percentage of charge I have remaining, but I guess I'll have to live without for now.

Did you try to enable in Quickmenu's options, "View" tab: "Show battery on taskbar" and also "Show on all titlebars" ? It might shift the % icon to the left and free up the upper right corner.

Yeah, I tried the centered solution, but that position cuts off the borders of both the icon and the percentage...and it occupies lots of space in the bar.
The "greenbatteryfix.cab" seems a much smoother solution. Thanks mskip

Oh, I know why your cab didn't appear to work for me. All your cab does is change the actual battery status indicator overlay. The reason nothing was showing up after installing your cab is because I have my settings so the clock shows on the title bar instead of the battery status indicator.
It looks like I'll have to choose between being able to instantly check the time or my battery status. I love how QuickMenu allows both the time and battery status indicator on the title bar at the same time.
I really appreciate the time you took to help. The screenshot you posted is what made me realize why I wasn't seeing any results with the cab you posted. Thank you.
Hopefully there is a solution waiting to be discovered.

Is there a reason why you can't instantly check the time using the really big clock on M2D's UI? Also, the battery automatically changes to the clock anytime I you run a program, so you should be able to see the time no matter which screen you are on.

Dutty New Leo Rom

People,
Dutty just released a new Leo ROM. It's called "Dutty's LEO Holy Grail R0".
Holy grail, since he thinks it is the one!!

Have fun..
Thanx for the info I am downloading it rite now....
I flashed now and is GREAT (the only thing I don't like is the start on top) because I always touch the 'Phone' on bottom, eheheh
I wonder how does MS Task Manager looks like. Can anyone screenshot here?

No, it can't. Sorry, I posted the wrong thread...here it is.
HTCPedia Dutty's Holy Grail R0
up and running the past 10 hours with this ROM
Not That I am surprised, but this ROM is almost flawless. Needed a very small tweak to fix the long hold that was needed to be used on explorer/apps (see thread on HTCPedia) , but other than that it works great. I have it running with radio 1.17.x.x and have iGO8 runnig smooth with no need to use anything else. Opera works great. No t haveing HTC taskbar was a nag for a while, especially because apps kept open. After a while i stopped closing the open tasks and let them be, simply because it makes the phone be even faster and memory isn't a big problem anyhow for the HD. I close all taks only before running iGO so I can use the TTS voice.
SMS works OK, nothing to write about.. I wish the ROM would have been with the start menu on bottom, but it is not such a big deal. TF3D (sense) works fine. Can't comment about Footprint, Twitter, and media player as I don't use them.
It is a FAST FAST FAST Rom. For people with no patience like me it is a blessing. I have been testing about 8 different ROMS, and I kije NRG's ones and HelloNasty's MARY versions. However Dytty is defenately formed a leage of his own, and I know exactly why this is a holy grail as he puts it.
BTW- works great with Windows 7 sync (media center)
Will I keep it? sure. It is really flawless, and has nothing much to add after it installs.
Great ROM! But i´ve three Questions....
1. I dont have the chance to change the X button so if i klick the X button the programm are minimized but i wanna close it by a click.
2. In the Taskmanager in right Corner i dont have the drop down menu for the running programms.
3. How i can change from AM/PM to 24H clock??? If i change location to Germany for example, he dont do this... plz help me
THX
Having tested practically every HD rom out there, from 6.1, 6.5 to 6.5.1, I have to say this is by far the most superior and actually feels like an official ROM.
OK slight hicup with the touch delay (fixed with the REG fix or cab on this thread) lets get passed that.
The HTC sense runs faster than any other rom by far, weather animations are smooth and look and feel as they should, all the tabs work well, even the footprints as last is brilliant, simply take a pic as usual, click save as footprint, gps is instant add your info and all saved.
Battery life seems similar to most Leo type roms out there.
Not sure how this guy does it, but he sure makes a superb rom, thanks Dutty
It is not for HD,but Diamond2

Plenty of roms mate, Try 23xxx builds from Maryone, Miri, PhamQuang etc etc.................... i.e. SEARCH!!
Can anyone comment on if the photo and music tabs store all thumbnails for landscape view? I've tried other ROMs and after a few swipes I got generic thumbnails and can't tell what they are until they stop moving.
I posted this on htcpedia too but no one's answered
Can anyone using this say how HTC Messaging performs when you have a lot of texts?
I think this is a great ROM and feels really nice.
I have just one problem which I have also experienced with other ROMs with Picture Messaging.
My pics show 2 sizes next to it, when I open it it is always ICON size. It's as if I need to request a download, perhaps its a UK/O2 issue. Would appreciate any comments.
Also the picture always opens Landscape and when I exit it stays in that mode and I have to select HOME 2 or 3 times.
I would also like to try non HTC msg, is it possible to turn it on via Registry etc?
Many Thanks,
Alan

This is off topic but what tsk theme are you using in the screenshot on the left? Or is that an SPB Shell 6.5.X theme?
dwizzy130
many thanks gtrab. top notch as always. did you ever get around to porting across the F series icons to wm 6.5?? i had them on my X1, i certainly miss them on the x2! i think they all worked apart from the signal icon.
regarding the F series, it is a LOT of work: it took me more than 40 labour hours to edit thee DLLs with all the selected icons from forum members and some original icons
new icons especially require a lot of time
but I am getting bored of the icons and I may do it all again
REGARDING the interface shown in the shots, its SPB professional panel
It comes preinstalled !!!
Very customizable desktop-like idea of moving interactive items around
This works a treat and saves having to click all over the place to find out the battery level.

i think the only icon that doesnt work is the signal icon, the bars dont appear. all the other icons seem to work fine.. but i can appreciate its a time consuming job. they do look way better than the boring white standard icons.

regarding the F series,
even when all other icons seem to work, they were cooked over WM6.1 DLLs, so the original WM6.5 DLLs are overrided and replaced by the older OS ones
you may not notice it, but some system bugs may arise when running old OS DLLs (6.1) under a new OS (6.5), that's why I don't recommend using it under WM6.5 even when it does partially work
yeh i get what u mean. i only tried it for a few minutes, when i saw the signal icon didnt work i removed it.

gtrab making a taskbar again? thought i'd never see the day...
sounds great!!! but how about X-series? i already wanted to do it myself, but for 6.5.x there are some icons missing. and so far i've been too lazy to make them... (as that includes reverse-engeneering)
pretty-please?
Well well : )
Thanks !!!
It wokrs fine in HTC Diamond2
Thanks so much!!
I thought I screwed up when it dod not work but I forgot to install the SDKCerts first!!
So I had to uninstall the Battery Enhancer, re-boot the phone, install the SDKCerts, reboot , re-install Battery Enhancer then reboot the phone.
Works great!! Thanks again.
Ok, problem.
Now the screen does not automatically flip when the keyboard is out.
Not on Internet explorer and not on the Windows screen where you can choose settings etc. . .
Any suggestions?
EDIT: Just re-booted the phone and it seems to be working.
Wierd ;(

Go to the first post/page of this thread and download the SDKCerts.cab and the SEX2BAtteryEnhancer.cab.
Using your computer and the micro USB cable that came with the phone, hook up the USB cable to the computer and the micro USB to the phone.
Gain entry to your memory stick on you phone using the software on your computer and put the SDK and SEX2Battery cabs on the phone memory stick. You do not need to create another folder for these cabs.
On the phone press the windows logo in the bottom left corner and scroll down to File Explorer.
Look at Storage Card under file explorer and find the SDKcerts and click it. Install to phone, NOT memory card.
Reboot phone.
