I've been looking on and off for a few months and can't dig anything up. Has anyone made a simple app that adds support for custom SMS ringtones per contact? Simply adds an SMS Ringtone row below the Ringtone line on the "Edit contact" page.
Have you tried ringo pro?
For 3.99L... I don't think so!
I'd pay 1 or maybe 2 dollars... But, over $4.00US! NOT

I have the same request, looked around in the registry but can't find a setting for it. Can anyone suggest a solution?
I have the same role fella, the only way I found was through a piece of software called SPB Phone Suit, you can get it to repeat a sound every 5 mins, 10 mins whatever for missed/unread calls and SMS.
Hi all!
Is there any way to change the ringtone for SMS delivery notification? In the Notifications tab, I can only see an MMS delivery notification, and not an SMS delivery notification.. I can set the ringotne and vibration for MMS delivery, but not SMS..
It's really anoying earing my SMS ringtone each time I get a delivery notification..
I know I can use a 3rd party app (like photo contact pro) to change specific ringtones and SMS rings, but would like to keep it simple..
Is there any reg edit I can use to change this?
And what about those carrier notifications? When I end a phone call, I get a message from my provider, telling me the money left on my account. This notification has it own ringtone, and I can't also find this anywhere.. The message looks like a speech baloon pointing at my network strenght signal.. I would like to change this ringtone because it's really loud and unnecessary..
Hope I was clear enough and thks for any comments..

I dont know about the credit remaining but sms notifications as with all messaging notifications are changed in the drop down list on the notifications tab in settings, sound/notifications. You select each item and select the notifications you want, then just select the next item etc etc. When happy, you close it and they are saved. You can save your own sounds/wavs/mp3's to your device to replace the existing.
I've searched that dropdown list a lot, but I can´t find the SMS delivery report (I have a portuguese Kaiser, so I don't know what exactly is the english name for this..) I can find the MMS delivery report, but not the SMS one..
Thks anyway..
It's the one below the "New MMS Report". It says "Messaging: New Text Message".
But that one refers to any new SMS.. I'de like to know where is the one that refers to the SMS delivery report, like you have in the MMS delivery report..
Hi.
I am a System Admin, as well as a member of a Rural Fire Brigade.
I need a way so that I can differenciate between different sources of SMS..
i.e. One contact is for missed pings to the servers - low priority, another is for servers down - higher priority, call out for the brigade - high priority and loud wake up tone
can anyone give me some advice on how to do this. I know I can do different ring tones for mobile calls but what about SMS contacts etc.
Many thanks for any help
Dave
I´ll need the same thing...
Once I used to have a sms chat software, but it corrupted messages often so I discontinued using it, I thing it was vito, but don´t remember
Well.. I don't know of any free solution for this.. but Electricpocket Ringo does this job very well.. it allows u to assing custom sms/ringtone to individual contacts and groups. No individual mms tone though..
maybe also magiccall will do what you are looking for
hey all~
i asked basically the same question recently. i was directed tot he freebie mortring, after fiddleing a lil (to make my own sounds work) i got it working pretty well

hey all~
so i found what, in my opinion, is the best FREE text message (and call) custom tones program....
its called oist (google it as i don't have the link handy) and it allows you to set custom tones (wav format only) for:
calls
texts from unknown senders
texts from everyone
texts from specific numbers
sent text message tones
it can also forward sent notifications to another number
anyhows i tested a few different ones and this seems to work best!
~j
Still playing around with it, but I think oist will work.
Now I just have to make WAV files for everyone.
I found this also but does not work on my wm6.5 touch pro... I have version 1.4
am I doing something wrong?
Is there application working under wm6.5 which would make custom SMS tone for each profile?
I need from few numbers to get very loud vibrating SMS and from rest something silent.
Is there some simple free app that does this?
I would also like to find one.
Have tried many of them and none of them work good in Raphael... (Oist, InboxTones, Steelsoft RingSmsToneManager).
Ringo Mobile and MortRing
I used Ringo Mobile v1.4 for SMS tone per contact.. and mortring v0.994 for SMS Tone per Categories and SMS filtering..
Im using Timolol's wm6.5 Touch pro
*Mortring v0.994 SMS per contacts has bugs on WM6.5.. but works well on SMS Filtering and per Categories.. (freeware)
*Ringo Mobile has no SMS filtering capabilities.. so far no bugs found yet on SMS tone per contacts
Does anyone know of a straight forward way to set a ringtone for all numbers that are not listed in your contacts?
I am going to try out the free app Call&SMS Filter but it would be good if there was a way to do it without a third party app. All my contacts are from Google so there isn't even an easy way to set a ringtone for all of them as I'd need to setup an empty contact for all of their names, link it and then add the ringtone there.
The only way I can think of is to set ringtone "A" as the global ringtone under settings. Then go into your contact list and then set a custom ringtone for each contact. That way if a contact calls it reverts to the custom ringtone, and if a non contact calls you get standard ringtone "A". If you have a lot of contacts that could take quite a while to do. Thats the only way I can think of doing it, unless there is some app that would do it.
