Hi,
Is there any way to select multiple people easily when sending out sms messages?
Thanks
when u write a texts and type the name in the "To:" box and then select the name, the phone puts ";" in and you able to add another name and so on
Hope this makes sense and is what you asked
Marty
Thanks for the reply, what i was reallyt after is there a way of selecting multiple contacts in one go. For example is there a way to pull up my contacts as a list with a tick box next to it, so i can jsut tick the ones i want to send it to, or do i have to select is one and then back to the main text screen, then add another person. etc
you may have to use a 3rd party app to be able to do group sms in that way.
Thanks Marty for the reply again, does anyone know of any third part apps that may be able to do this.
Thanks

Hi pau1200,
Maybe Flexmail can handle this.

Hi
I have quite a lot of folders in my Exchange mailbox that hang off the Inbox. I also have server side rules that move incoming mail into the relevant folder when it arrives, however the "new mail" notification in the Home screen only shows new mail in the inbox, rather than new mail in another folder. Can this be configured anywhere?
Apologies if this has been covered before - I did try searching but to no avail.
Cheers
Phil
Yes, I need this too. Anyone?
Thinking about the Exchange rules, is there not a way you could add a condition to the server-side rule so that it only sorts the emails into their correct subfolders AFTER they're marked as read? That's the only workaround I can think of for now (and having only used a Kaiser for about 25 minutes, I don't have much of a point of reference).
I hadn't thought of that, but having just had a quick play with the Rules wizard in Outlook it doesn't look like you can control it to that degree. It's a shame because that would work. If anyone can correct me that I would be only to happy to try it out. Failing that, does anyone else know if it is possible to change the Pocket Outlook behaviour so that new mail in sub-folders triggers the New Mail... info?
Cheers
Phil
Does anyone have any other ideas?
In the menu, select 'tools>manage folders...'. You'll be able to select the folders you want to synchronize.

No, there will be no notification if a new mail in other folder then inbox arrives. Tried that
Anyone else?

Go to PocketMax.net and submit this as a feature request to the author of PhoneAlarm - I asked him for the same thing and he's willing to pursue it if there's enough interest.
PhoneAlarm's custom e-mail notifications make up for a LOT of the missing DirectPush functionality, IMO - and this would be a huge help in that area!

Thanks for the suggestion, but this doesn't have any affect on the new mail notification. Ta though.

Agreed! I think PhoneAlarm is worth the $$$ even without this, but it'd be a HUGE win *with* it!

i think what you mean is be able to do a "group" send but i don't think so that is one of the options available under the sms application that comes on kaiser. You could search around for one that does enable that though, as i don't know of any (not that i ever looked for one, only text occassionally ).
when you create a new sms, where you put in the person you send it to, what i do is, hit the hard center button, and that brings up contacts, after you select the contact you want it returns to the send part of the sms, just keep repeating that process till you have all the people that you want to send it to. see if that works for ya or if thats what you wanted.

try that...quite a handy little app
Try SMS-Chat!

Hi!
I'm quite desperate. I'd like to start SMS on my Kaiser with one or two clicks. So please recommend me how to make my SMS box the default message box (I'm not using MMS, who does anyway... I mean SMS are so much more popular) and/or direct "Compose a new SMS" or so. I also use HTC Home. Ideally I'd like to add a button in HTC Home which would directly open a new SMS (not MMS).
And yes, I did use Google "site:forum.xda-developers.com Kaiser SMS" + various combinations of words "default", "folder", "quick", "fast", "button", "MMS"...
I also tried several registry and other things tweakers.
Thanks
Btw, if you could recommend an application for quick taking notes, something like primitive drawing or so... PhatPad maybe?
um htc home (with the big clock) has it with one click..
I don't really understand your request, but this might be what your after? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2287306&postcount=6
EDIT:
Also,
When viewing your SMS's do: Menu, Tools, Options and Untick "Display account picker when opening Messaging".

Try installing HTC action screen. It will map the left softkey to be able to create new mms/sms/email/apointment/contact, all with one click of the button. That might be what you're looking for.
Hi,
I am also quite desperate for this. I will try to explain what is that we are after.
When composing a new SMS message we need to follow the following steps.
1. Go to Messaging Application
2. Select SMS \ MMS
3. Click on Menu
4. Click on New
5. Now we need to select SMS from the list that shows MMS / SMS / Voicemail.
Now here is the problem, we would like to have SMS as the first option if possible (It helps save the click I need to do, if I am using the D-Pad), Alternatively, a direct link to just start composing a new SMS message directly without going through multiple menus.
Thanks
Manik
Hi,
I missed the link of my previous post (#3). Sorry. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2287306&postcount=6
The link was to a CAB to create a "New SMS" link on the left or Right soft key.

wow, from the main screen I tap 4 times with my finger and I'm good to go. That really isn't that much work.

Well, I click on the the envelope icon (1), then I have to click on "Menu" (2), "Go To" (3), "Text meddages" (4), "Menu" (5), "New" (6). This makes SIX clicks.
for me,
Envelope, menu, new, and sms..
Done.
After clicking the envelope, if it opens to email press the 5 way to the right and it will bring up SMS.

hi there!! i wanted to know if there is possible to sen d an sms to more than one person at the same time... in my older nokia, i could creat group in contacts, or when i sent messages i could check the contact and tick those i wanted to sent messages at the same time for all...
but i don't know how to do it in diamond...
Add Recipient, then go and add next recipient then add next recipient?
if your going to mail all of them often save on in drafts and reuse it
EDIT: In the SMS go to NEW then in right down corner go to menu->Add Recipient
no, that's not the ideia...
what i want is to send one message but not just to one person, for example, i want to send a message saying "good xmas" to 50 persons at the same time...
but i don't know how to do that..
When in the new message, in "To:" click add recipient under menu, find the person you want, add him, and then click add recipient until you get all the recipients you want.
it works the same way as a email in Outlook. (on your PC)
I think this freeware is what you are looking for:
http://www.shubaroo.com/index.php?module=group_sms
Erm, are u Trolling ?? Diamond is capable of sending to multiple people one SMS in one step, just do a new SMS
then go to menu-> Add recipient for the 1st person
then go to menu-> Add recipient for the 2nd person
then go to menu-> Add recipient for the 3rd person
... and so on
and all will get ur Happy Xmas
as i sayed earlyer ... so whats the prob bro ?
Exactly what I'm looking for as well, although the application posted above is good, is there anything which adds tick boxes to contacts so that you can select more than one contact instead of groups.
I know you can add and then add again but that is just annoying especially when you move from Nokia to WM...
just start writing their name in, then select them when i suggests the right person, and then start writing the next one!

Was that directed at me?
If your read the original request properly, the OP is looking for a way to send messages to many people without having to repeatedly tap "add recipient". You haven't provided a solution.
If you read the link I've posted, you'll see that it adds the ability to select any number of contacts using check boxes without the irritating repetition.

The above application does allow individual contacts with check boxes. After selecting a group, including the "All Contacts" group, the next screen has the check boxes.

I see.
The OP wasn't very clear, I guess I only understood him (or her) because I had been looking for a similar application. He also failed to thank you for your original suggestion.
However, it's best to not to acuse people of trolling just because you haven't understood their question!
sorry guys... i couldn't use my internet for a few days, so i couldn't read alll these messages.... first, i want to thank for the help...
and them maybe i wasn't so explicit as i should be.... but what i want is a way to could send one sms to a lot of people from my contact, but avoid to add recipient, then select one person, then go again to add recipient, then select another contact, and then again add recipient, select another contact, and so on... lets imagine i would like to send the particular message to 50 persons from my contact list... i would take an eternity... so i was looking for a program that allows me to go to add recipient, and inside it i could select those 50 persons that i want to get my message, and no add recipient, select contact, another add recipient, selecet another contact, and again add recipient, bla bla bla....
ok? was i cleared this time? hope so, sorry for my english guys....
i think that way it could be more easy to send mesages to a group of people, right?

Is there a way to disable threaded SMS?
Or a program that let you manage your messages the old way?
I can't find this anywhere, hope you guys have a solution.
Why would you want to disable threaded sms? And no there is no way to do it.

I just don't like the way threaded SMS works.
I whan't to be able to manage a message at the time and possibly delete it without deleting the all conversation, just like other phones.
For the iPhone theres an application that does that, i think it's called "iRealSMS" but I'm not sure.
I was hoping in a similar program.
You can delete individual text in the thread just long press on the message you want to delete and select Delete. Right now though there is no app that does single SMS messages.
