change of rom makes video flashing, breaking, just unstable - XPERIA X1 ROM Development

I have changed my ROM from R1A to Touch X. Everything works fine, but the quality of video has been dropped to very low level in all programs playing video... specially in youtube player... with the original ROM it used to be smooth, even the high quality videos but now, just breaking images, framing after 1-2 secs, blinking, flashing.... WHAT COULD BE THE CAUSE and WHAT CAN I DO? Thanks for ideas....

The right way to solve your problem would be:
Ask the ROM cooker and other users of that ROM...
Since cookers always offer support @ their threads, there's no need to open a new thread to ask for support / help
And BTW: read and search the thread before posting
Welcome to the forum
and have fun

Is it true?

On a few "hands on" videos on youtube the interface seemed to respond very slow with a lag/delay when accessing new menus through TouchFLO.
For those who have it, does the menu respond instantly or does the lag really exist? Honest opinions rather than biased ones would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Take a look at www.coolsmartphone.com ,
there are a lot of live videos. The latest one "Weekend special" is with the final firmware.
no its not true, i've been using it for a few days now and its only crashed once.
I only have seen one video of it being laggy. By Dave of Mobility Today. He cross posted it several in several forums across multiple sites.
But perhaps his has a specific issue? Even taking seconds to turn on? That doesn't sound normal at all, and its nothing like many of the preview videos posted at www.coolsmartphone.com.
I'm not sure which is more representative of actual results, but I'd think you'd hear more people complain about the lagginess if it were pervasive. And so far, all the laggy posts trace back to Dave's videos...
The lack of NA support will keep me from this in any case.
Guys.. I am concluding my lagginess is probably due to the issue with the bands the phone works on. I can tell you this that the phone call quality completely sucks! I dont think its the unit at all I think anyone in the USA who uses this device will experience the same crappy laggy feeling.
that's easy to verify:
see if it's still laggy for you with radio switched off or SIM card removed.

have a look for the "Diamond tweaks" thread. Apply the reg tweaks and they'll make TouchFlo sooo much faster, and the device (and of course your other apps) will simply fly!

Turning things round...

OK,
After a week or so with a Diamond things are finally getting turned around enough that I can appreciate it.
Please don't think this post is just one of the usual wailing complaints posts -as stated I 'm beginning to finally like the device - but somewhere there is a line between ranting that the phine is crap and worshipping the thing. I also think we need a post that can list the things that need fixing the most urgently, and any temporary workarounds for newbies (I know they are there but spread over many large posts).
The Diamond is a great phone let down by a few bugs.
However:
My battery life is now acceptable since I used the Advanced Config program (details in other threads) to disable GPRS auto-attach. This made a large diference to my battery life, and seems to be about the best thing you can do to improve the phone!
I've also updated to the wonderful custom Comm Manager to turn off 3G until I need it.
I applied the speed tweaks in the first post of this forum, which certainly helped, but was still getting slow and jerky response form TF3D, so have decided to replace TF3D with SPB Mobile Shell 2 for now, which works really well on the Diamond and is also gesture controlled (there's a free 30 day trial). (BTW, I'd LOVE someone to get the old HTC TouchFlo to work on this device as an alternative).
This is my choice, not a complaint(!), others love TF3D I know...
The built in audio player is quick to access, but way too limited feature-wise for me, so until someone can port across HTC Audiomanager I am using the free trial of Pocket Player. I've added it to my programs. This also has a built in pre-amp so I don't have to use AudioBooster (which causes the lost bass bug). (IMHO, you need some sort of pre-amp as otherwise all players are too quiet - at least for my ears which have been bashed by loud music for too long...)
Unfortunately it still skips/jerks every few songs as do all players on the Diamond - others also report this also - definitely one for HTC to look at...
Every time I use the phone I now quickly flick the volume up and down before turning it off . So far this has preveneted the dreaded lost all sound bug that other users and myself occasionally get (and I don't even use Bluetooth!). I can live with this, but it's happening to lots of users so I suspect HTC are working on it for the next update.
I'm told the memory leak is a Windows 6.1 error rather than HTC's but we will wait and see. A soft reset every morning is the best cure for now.
So, still some issues (and this is not forgiving HTC for them) but there are always problems and bugs for those who go for the first releases of software. However, what I am saying is that the phone is usable, and even enjoyable, until HTC get these issues sorted.
And I really hope some clever bod is busy working away on getting the old TouchFlo and AudioManager/Booster system working for the Diamond! A small step back perhaps, but it worked so fluidly and easily with my large fingers
Just my thoughts. A.
Did you found a way to use Pocket Player with bluetooth A2DP access?
I can't over rule ouchflo/WMP player priority to control Pocket Player from my HDH980 Sony Bluetooth headset, it always starts the integrated WMp-Touch flo player...
or , as you mentionned, you only use corded headset?
good review -points you mentionned by the way !
if you want the old touch flo try this:

it what's in the package is not good enough (and most of the time is not) use program that are made special for yr scope.
i experienced perfect a2dp audition using corepalyer...p e r f e c t! no skipping, sophisticated equalizer, all the 9 yards i highly recommend it!
Nice post. Let's hear some more configs that make the diamond useful. EVERY htc in the past has started off as a piece of crap, and has grown to be awesome (with a few notable exceptions like the jasjam which was always a dog). I've always been SA' earliest adopter (usually buy the first or second unit in country) and as a result, face more frustratuion that later adopters, but still swear by them. Inevitably the solution lies in constructive posts like the one above.

I should have written the above myself.
For sure it is more challenging and rewarding to be part of the trend setters and making these crappy devices working the way they should do.
I am as much looking forward to have a Diamond which will increase its performance like my TytnII did (which now is faster in general than the Diamond)
Looking forward to contribute where I can

Low FPS camera

Hi....I'm new here....I want to ask if is there any software or patch to solve this problem? I have a Tytn 2 Kaiser and I use AthineOS Rom with 1.71 radio...Thanks a lot
not the best way to start posting in here mate... now put Your flameproof jacket on, and try to use search option next time. there is like sh..loads of threads covering this topic in here.
however, I'll give You a clue: there is not much that You can do about it. there are some tricks, but there is no clean, perfect solution.
K...thanks a lot....sorry
no probs.. cheer up

black screen camera

hey guys i have upgrade some thing to do sharpness picture on my tilt and now
i just see black screen.
after i take the picture i can see the pic but when i turn on the camera its show blank black screen
i have been searching for alot of msg on the forum and i didnt found any solution
please guys there is a solution?
I don't know about everyone else, but every time I've installed anything and gave undesired results, had bugs, etc. I just uninstall it. Try that. If it fixes the problem, then there ya go.
Radio
Every time this has happened to me or someone I know the radio you are using isn't compatible with the Rom. Flash to a differant radio and see if that fixes you problem
Are you really going to start a new thread " every " time you have a problem ? You have 25 posts and you have already started 7 new threads. I don't think I have started 7 new threads in 1600 posts.
To answer yesterday's new thread , http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=524573 The camera sucks, deal with it. You can do thinks to quicken the shutter delay. Search !
To answer today's new thread, try a different radio, or one of the many camera updates that you would have found in the many...many...many threads already started on this subject, that a simple search would have led you to. Otherwise, the camera sucks , deal with it.

[Q] HDMI problem in CM10?

I'm absolutely delighted with the smoothness and functionality of CM10 as of now. Obviously I've been experiencing the usual problems of immense battery drain and call quality, but I'm sure those will be fixed in the short run.
However, another problem I think that is overshadowed by all the other problems is the HDMI. This is probably because barely any people actually utilise it on a regular basis, but some people do.
The phone connects to the TV and projects the image fine. However, it is ALWAYS shown rotated 90 degrees so that the projected image on the TV is always horizontal. This is quite frustrating when I'm trying to watch downloaded TV shows. I've tried disabling the rotation in settings completely; however, no matter what I do the moment i connect the HDMI and then turn my phone on, the image is always portrait and rotated.
Maybe time will fix this. However, I wanted to post this because I was afraid that this problem would be easily overlooked and never fixed.
Thanks!
It was said multiple times. Do not mind, that if yopu create thread for thios bug it will be fixed.
Cheers
Thread Closed, please use the CM10 thread to ask and search for bugs.
Thanks
