Sometimes when I type a text message or even when I am in a browser typing an address I cannot see the text that is being inputed. The cursor moves as I am typing but its like the text color has changed to white (same as background color) and I cant see it. I am not running any special roms and the only tweaking I have done is with Kaiser Tweak. I could hard reset and start over as I have a backup but would rather not do that.
Any ideas?
Jim
Have you changed the default font size? I had this problem when I tweaked the font size to a larger one.

Go to Start>settings>screen>cleartype> disable cleartype.

When in the standard WM texting screen, the recieved text is huge!
It USED to be tiny after I posted a message about this before and someone told me to go into Settings > Screen and make the text size small.
My text for the current message I'm typing remains small, but for some unknown reason, the received text has jumped up a couple of sizes.
Another suggestion was to click on the keboard settings and choose 'Other Input Methods' > Options > Options > and change both zoom levels to 75%, but this does nothing either.
How can I get my received text back to the minimum size?!?!?!
I think this phone is brilliant, but all these silly niggles are really getting me down. The other problem I've just started having is that on every web page I open, the keyboard pops up. When I close it, it pops up again - and does this a couple of times.... eventually staying closed. REALLY annoying!! Surely it should only pop up if I click on a text box?

Use the zoomwheel located around the dpad. you can increase/decrease font size of conversation this way
BTW, the wheel also works in Mail and in the Office applications, so if you touch it by mistake you can inadvertently change the text size.
Perfect...
Exactly what I was looking for.
Thanks guys...
Thanks! I was wondering why it seemed to randomly change size!
silly question but where is the zoomwheel?

It's the round circle on the botton of the key/touchpad which you just have to touch with your finger and swiffle it around clockwise for bigger text and counter-clockwise for smaller text!
Good luck!

My exact thoughts when i first got the diamond, i thought it had loads of bugs til i figured them all out.
i have resco keyboard and have got used to using it w/keyboard not slid out (portrait mode?). it works fine.
today i wanted to type w/real keys. when i type a key, the text and is not visible--cursur moves as if i just hit space bar. all text is blank.
if im in google, for example, the predictive text is unreadable; if i hit "enter" what i typed is visible as a search.
i need to make settings so i can read as i type and see the predictive text..
EDIT ::
actually, if i'm in internet explorer and touch the "menu" on lower right corner, all the text displays blank also--if i touch on a blank area, it responds.
so i guess my display is acting up while in landscape mode..
i hope this is clear..
any help here?
thanx
Tried a soft reset, yet?
might be related to clear type ... seee if disabling it helps. i know in landscape mode that bug has been noted.

If u have flashe a new wm6.1 rom, u could try to disable cleartype in landscape. Thats the common problem. U can do that in advanced config.

Looks like I am a slow typer.
disabling clear type fixed most things..
Except that :: when i'm on google search bar, the problem persists..
as far as i can tell, thats the only thing wrong. it happens if i use
Resco or physical keyboard..
what else can i do?
thanx
edit : disabled clear type from settings.. fixed everything
This is probably a WM6.1 question more than a Diamond question, but because I'm using JUICY'S 2.2 ROM, I figured I'd ask here.
I am a person with a visual impairment - I can't see all that well. I've used Windows Mobile devices for a few years but would be very interested in making the text much large on many screens within Windows Mobile. I've been able to do this through the Registry, making the font size larger for menues, pop-ups and title bars. What I can't seem to figure out is how to make the text large in "Text Messaging." In Juicy's ROM, threaded text messaging is used (which I love) but I can't seem to find the registry key to edit the font size of the text that is received. The perfect font size for me in this case would be 14 point font.
Start / Settings / Screen / Text Size - this doesn't increase the font large enough for me.
Please help if you could with this issue. It would be much appreciated.
I was able to edit the font size of the text that I type into "Text Messaging" but still not the actual conversation text size. Please help! Thanks.
Try turning the touch sensitive scroll wheel to the right.

Thanks for the tip - that does make the text a "bit" larger which helps, so thank you. Still would be interested in a registry hack for it though...
Since I installed DiamondTweak (source: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=409540 )
When I open my keyboard in any text edit fields( opera add bookmark field, registry editor fields, etc. EXCEPT in sms it works just fine ), and it switches to landscape mode, I can't see the texts that are present in the boxes.
Example: When in normal mode: I would see RegistryYey with a value 2
but in landsacape mode i only see is < blanks
Any ideas??

Change Windows
Really, this is well-known issue, but no solution yet...
Change Windows? Change OS? LOL
Oh alryt thanks anyway I hope someone could find it!
landscape cleartype bug....
they still havn't fixed this yet??? how could HTC release a phone with so many bugs that existed in some of the previous roms??
FIXED, I just removed the "Clear Type" fonts!
What do you mean? Did you turn off ClearType in landscape mode?
Well, it fixes text display in landscape, but i meant that nobody managed to get ClearType working in landscape. Without ClearType the text is readable, but looks ugly.
Hi,
I've searched and found the way of changing fonts in the pop-up menu of my HTC Diamond.
However, the selections fonts (the similar to V shapes and the arrows for navigation in the pop up menu) are still in big size... does anyone know how to edit their size as well?
Thanks a lot!
Anyone pls?
Unfortunatelly I have the same problem. I want to have a perfectly clean WM 6.1 system, fully stylus-operated. I have already disabled all the "garbage" like TochFlo etc., I have decreased the pop-up menu font size (using Schap's Adv Config Tool, but that can be easily done with many other progs like SK-Tools etc.) but I still cannot do anything about those stupid large "arrows" and "V-signs" (like in the checkbox list). They remain the same big size, as it was before decreasing the pop-up menu font.
Really nobody knows how to decrease their size as well???
Just a quick suggestion, go to settings, system and screen. Then go to text size, change it down by one nouch. See if that helps
Unfortunatelly no - the popup menu font remains the same (but that I know how to controll over SK-Tools) and also the arrows/v-signs remain the same - very large that is
advanced config will let you change the size of the font in the popup window
This is what you're looking for:
