Why don't we have a Windows Mobile 6.1 section for software and another for Windows Mobile 6.5?
Maybe a sticky for developers to post links into?
Trying to find out whether or not things are compatible with 6.5 is a real pain in the ass.
Thanks!

Short answer is no, long answer is here on the forums if you search for it.
Everything working on 6.1 works fine on 6.5 too. I did not face any problem with app on 6.5.

Is it possible to download the Windows Mobile 6.5 Beta for my HTC Diamond?
In short; yes. You should've just read the threads in the ROM section, and you wouldn't have had to make a thread about the obvious. On the other hand. It's still a beta. There are issues. I tried it, and I will wait at least until a new build arrives.
please look before you ask

Im sorry if this has been answered, I hope I dont anger anyone by not researching thoroughly enough, but..
Are all or most 3rd party Windows Mobile 6.1 applications compatible with windows mobile 6.5??? Id like to upgrade to the Tilt 2, but dont want to lose the ability to use my favorite programs, namely Tom Tom 7.... I greatly appreciate your time and responses, thanks a ton.
Im assuming since its not a major leap in Windows Mobile versions, that most programs will work.. But I was hoping to hear your responses, and get confirmation before I drop money from my unemployment check.
I have never had any compatibility issues.
awesome, good to hear. Thanks for your time, and the info.
Respect forum rules, don't double post.

Amidst the hype of Win7Mo, are we forgetting the 6.7 Build somewhere??
THe chances of using Win7Mo on X1 look slim, So i thought why not use the next best OS..
Also, can't we update the CE of X1...just asking, i don't know the technicality...

Circle': The general thought is that Microsoft has a two-tiered strategy: WM7 for the masses, but still supporting WM 6.x for business-type users. I suspect that we will continue to see WM 6.x and above ROMs leaked here. My guess is that MS will continue to polish the UI and increase finger friendliness.

Why don't you start contributing useful posts instead of crying to the mods all the time, you freaking woman? We don't need nannies and gray-haired librarians on here. The Mods can do their job without the help of an elderly playboy bunny.

Sexist?
Dayum your an idiot.
@circle: Call Microsoft also Google is your friend.
@Lunie, don't feel offended
@thread starter: I don't get your message. There wont be any cooked winMo 7 for x1, thats for sure. And right now we're not doing anything else than you suggested: using the most up to date wm 6.5 (6.6 - 6.7). What about it?

Supporting WM6.x does not mean continued development. Support in the sense that MS supported XP after Vista. <insert Vista Rant in another thread>
Let's consider Windows Mobile out to pasture. It was fun while it lasted, but now it's time to move on. If they could make WM any more modern they would have done so by now.
Hi guys. I am sorry to bother. But I dont know were to post for this phone to ask for help. I have a Motorola MC70 with WM5.0 I very much want to go to WM 6.2 or even 6.5. But I cant find any soft for the live of me to reload windows even for 5.0. Can any one ehlp PLEASE. I so badly need this to work. Thanks for any input
I'd suggest using Google...
Why you posted a Window Mobile question in an Android forum section pertaining specifically to the Motorola Droid & Milestone is beyond me...
Good luck.
