activesync not working anymore - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

Hello guys
last week my Tytn II decide to also get stuck at the bootscreen. It had been running more than a year with one of Dutty's ROMs without any problems at all. Fortunately I knew this forum so I didn't really panic but started reading possible solutions to the problem.
Flashing new OS or SPL via USB didn't work. Nor was I able to connect via mtty to give the boot command. I finally got it back working by flashing KAISDIAG.NBH and after that flashing RUU-356-patch-nostuckinSPL-FORCEUSB as KAISIMG.NBH both via the SD method. After that I have downloaded and flashed the latest standard HTC rom & radio. The device boots and can make calls.
However whenever it is connected to a pc it just freezes. Or at least becomes so slow there's nothing that can be done with it. Activesync connection cannot be established. Note, this does not happen if the device is connected to my car charger or to another USB charger, but only when connected to a PC, XP or vista, doesn't matter.
I've tried flashing different boot loaders, OSes & radios, so far no luck. Currently OS = 3.34.721.2 WWE & Radio i= 1.65.24.36.
Booting & making calls works, connecting via activsync doesn't.
I'd appreciate it if anyone could give me some tips as to what could be the cause of this problem.

Please anyone help asap, thanks so much and much blessing
Here's an answer to part of your problem:
As long as you have a USB connection, you can re-flash your phone (provided it's in either the bootloader or connected to your system via active sync 4.1 (I don't know about the beta 4.5 of active sync - which changed the way your PC connects to your phone as I understand it)). You may have to try several different ROMs to re-flash, but generally, I have found that doing the following almost always guarantee's a re-flash:
1) remove the SIM card
2) after every attempt, disconnect the phone from your USB port and then reconnect it
3) between attempts, remove the battery while you are setting up your system (you can't flash a phone w/ a dead battery, so unless you have a way to charge the battery other than the phone, you need to protect the amount of charge you have like it's your lifeline!)
4) I have had more success re-flashing a phone that is in bootloader mode by using the original ROM .exe file instead of trying to extract the files from it and THEN run the update utility.
5) If your phone came w/ a 2.x ROM, I wouldn't try to downgrade it to a 1.x ROM as this has never worked for me. Try flashing it w/ a 2.x or higher ROM only.
Hope this helps (oh, and rumor has it you should use the USB ports on the back of your PC, not the ones on the side or front!)

Upgrade problem-Totally stumped

Hi
My Orange SPV M700 was successfully unlocked and radio upgraded and hard spl installed as per trinityguides.info with original Orange WM5. However I am now trying to upgrade the ROM to lastest dopod WM6, but cannot get past the bootloader using both usb cable or SD card methods. With usb the bootloader recognises the USB but activesync says there is no phone connected. If I softreset out of bootloader into the orange WM5 OS activesync connects OK.
I then tried the SD card method of renaming the .nbh file but it won't boot and just comes up with the bootloader screen. I've hard/soft reset the phone with no difference. It looks like I'm stuck with the factory WM5 orange ROM until I can resolve this issue as I've tried 2 PCs with XP and Vista and have now run out of ideas.
Although the phone works fine it appears there is some fault either with the hardspl bootloader or some or something introduced when it was unlocked/ radio ugraded?
Anyone got any ideas?
Help!!!
Possibly too late and possibly already tried, but when it is connected to your PC and in bootloader, the tri-colour screen, try running the upgrade again. Ignore what Active Sync says as at this point there is no PPC fror it to connect to.
I would also try one of the other ROMs, i tried the DOPOD ones and failed to get them to load, everything else i tried from here worked just fine.

What on earth am I doing wrong when flashing?? *SOLVED!*

Hi, first of all let me begin by saying that I have spent a long time reading around through the guides and forums about flashing rom/radio to my Rohdium but still face problems. I have successfully flash my old TyTN II and Orange E650 but am at a loss as to why Im struggling this time round!
I flashed the Hard SPL which went 'fairly' smoothly, got there in the end after having problems on WIndows 7 64bit and then succeeded using Xp 32. However when trying to flash a new rom and/or radio I am greeted with an error, that being Error 284. I have tried like I say on Win7 64, Xp32 and when the error pops up my phone gets stuck on the process bar and forced to pull battery out. I then put it back in and it freezes on bootloader. The RUU software trys to recover but it is a loop of the same thing happening (attempts and then crashes). The only way to get out of this mess was strangely reflashing HardSPL which recovers it and allows me to boot to Windows. I have tried flashing a radio and/or rom whilst in sync within windows, I have tried flashing when manually forcing the phone to enter bootloader, I even paid the £10 to get the unlocker which would patch the special radio but that even returns the same error. I have the sim card out and storage card, battery charged over 50%. I even tried the Mtty program (sorry if mispelled, at work now and can't fully remember name!) when it was stuck at bootloader and using the "boot" command it boots as far as Touch Pro 2 logo but then doesn't progress, then i resorted to reflashing HardSPL which allowed me to boot properly. I just don't know what else to try!
Like I said Im sorry if this is obvious to someone but I have tried alot!
Many thanks in advance if someone could help!
* Update: Just tried flashing a radio on my works computer (XP 32) and it flashed no problem!? Wonder why my operating systems had an issue?
** SOLVED! ** - got home and randomly tried again on Win7 64 without using my USB extension cable and plugged into a different USB port directly and it worked! Faulty cable maybe, bad luck, who knows, it works!
Thanks.
Sound like maybe your RUU/update utility may have gotten corrupted. I would try to re-download the rom you want to flash over to your home pc again and try to re-flash.
If that doesn't work, you can always flash your rom through the storage card.
hmmm yea thats possible, will try when I get back in couple of hours thanks! Just seemed weird how nothing was working, different roms (cooked roms or shipped roms) and even the security/sim unlocker that I purchased......mystery!
USB cable tends to go bad easily! That might be the reasion why!

[Q] Sync over USB problem

Hello,
I'm having issue synchronizing my Xperia X1 with my PC using ActiveSync or WMDC.
Powering my battery works but sync doesn't. I tried 2 other USB cables and same problem occur.
I tried different PC but still I have same problem. I event went back to original Stock and this doesn't helps also.
Should I send my device for fix? I have warranty? I can reverse to original Stock and put back original boot loader.
Hopefully they will fix it but if they don't I cannot add custom ROM any more
You can go and get a card reader to have your sd mini read in the pc, I got mine with 5 EUR and it also supports several type of cards. Also keep in mind that read/write speed is faster with a card reader than plugging your device in Disk Drive mode and this can be convenient sometimes
Good luck with the repair. If you revert to stock SPL and to stock rom and if your time of warranty is not up then you should have no problems, although in my country the service center sucks, they try to make you pay as much as possible...
I manage to resolve this issue. I revers back to my stock ROM 6.1 and still I cannot sync. Then I put back radio 1.10.25.18 and it START TO WORK !!!! I can sync now without any problem and it works now with 6.5 ROM and different radio.
This was last step before I want to return it to SonyEricsson service.
Usb problem

usb probem
how to update the radio 1.10.25.85 on xperia x1 by the micro sd card? since the usb is not working? thanks!
same as you update your ROM, just rename radio file to KOVSIMG.nbh and update it. Hope this will work for you also.
yes I do this procedure [KOVSimg.nbh] but gets caught in tla loading. WHAT do I do now .thanks!
there is no difference in flashing ROM and Radio, can you maybe check that you do all proceudre correctly? maybe you should download Radio from some other place, maybe is broken
i have the same problem...the battery is recharging but it cannot sync...maybe it has something to do with the version of windows...i was using windows vista and windows mobile device center and it synced and all was ok...but now i have windows 7 ultimate x64 and even though i downloaded the mobile device center it does not recognise the phone when i plug it in activesync mode....it still works perfectly in USB drive mode....but i cannot flash a new rom through the usb method now...recently tried it on a friends pc with windows xp and activesync and worked just fine...any thoughts on that??..
ok. I tried everything. [xperia x1] is not reconhesido by [usb].
neither the radio rom can be clicked. [already downloaded several saiter]. it hangs in louding
I've the same problem occured before but I'm not sure if it's as simple as mine.
All I did was disable "Faster Transfer" under Active Sync radio Button in USB 2 PC (Control Panel), hope it's helpful.
Ok, I'd try this, but I have two questions:
1) can any body give the link to the old Radio rom?
2) I already have a 828x rom installed. is that compatible with the old rom?

Click to collapse
hm, OT post
1) radio selection, don't forget to install a matching rilphone.dll
2) afaik those two (meaning radio rom and normal rom) are not related like that, radios should work in all versions on all roms
it might be, that you suffer less functionality/signal strength when using an older radio version, but that is regionally different and cannot be generalized
hope you find your ideal combo
Best, DK

X1 huge problem: starts with bootloader, not recognized by pc via usb

Hi guys, for several days i've been trying to come up with a solution regarding my X1.
I have read many similar posts implying different solutions with this problem, tried tons of methods to make it work, but unsuccesfull.
Anyway...a few days ago I recieved an X1 from my cousin. No hardware problem, scratched or dropped device.
The main problem is (i've met this problem on different posts, but no one could find an answer): the X1, when booted, it starts on bootloader/ flashscreen (the 4 colour screen) everytime showing info :
KOVS110
SPL-0.78.0000
MicroP1-787
MicroP2-707
If I connect the X1 to the PC via USB, or if I plug the charger in, it boots normally, and the phone works just fine. ANOTHER PROBLEM is that the PC does not recognize the X1, so I cannot HardSPL it using OliNex....!!!!?!
I know the current SPL version is a SSPL, so I can't flash custom ROM's. It's frustrating because I've spent days trying to get a solution, I'm not a newbie on this one, I've done it many times before.
I used up all the methods I could think of, including flashing an official ROM, radio, and returning to SSPL (I recogn it wasn't the case...but still). In this moment, I flashed it to Official Vodafone UK bla-bla-R3 doesn't matter, because it is not branded.
I really could use your help, guys, because I can't take my charger or usb with me everywhere I go just to start my phone, in case I need to turn it off or something.
I'm stuck, and don't know what else to do, I know the procedure to HardSPL and flashing a custom/ official ROM, but I can't go on because of the fact that by any ways, I can't get the X1 to be recognized by ANY PC. Tried ActiveSync on XP, WMDC on Vista and Win 7...the Mitty procedure is buggy, couldn't get pass the recognizing of the USB (lol !!!!)....also tried using SE Update Utility Service, no result since the X1 is not recognized... It already has SPL 0.78.0000, so I guess SEUS fails from the point of idea.
I've also tried using X1-Manual-SSPL.exe....no chance..!
Tried also to flash from MicroSD a custom ROM (knowing and assuming through the absurd that it will work inspite having SPL 0.78.0000), but it always get's stuck at the grey "Loading..." screen
I would really apreciate some proffesional help, because I'm starting to think I'm not skilled enogh for an X1 ))) I don't have the necessary resources at this point to bring the phone to a GSM Service
So...kindly...PLEASE HELP !!!
How about usb cable? is it still good? have you try to connect the usb with other devices?
the usb works fine, I've tried different usb cables and on different PC's with the X1. As I said, I used up all the ways possible to make it work...
some guys on other thread have the exact same problem: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1611223
That's mysterious...
