I flashed a new rom from the internal storage and apparently there's something wrong with it because the phone just hangs after the initial screen with the radio version and rom version!! Is there a way where I can get into the internal storage to put in a new rom? As far as I'm concern, bootloader still works (the rainbow screen) but I don't know what ot do after that...I've done many hard-resets but to no avail.
Please help!
if your bootloader works, yo can use your USB cable and computer to flash a new rom !
Hold volume down and hit the reset button. It will put you in the tricolor bootloader screen. In the white it says serial. Connect it to your usb cord. It should now say usb. Now flash the STOCK rom. Then try flashing the ROM you want.
stupid me, i formatted teh NAND before I posted this thread! Now when i plug in the USB cord, it still says "Serial" and my computer is not able to connect to it. Is there any other way???
See what happens if you now take out the SIM Card and do another hard reset.
It still says "serial"!! Are these my only options? Are there no other way?
That sounds bad. YOur Dimond is not picking up the connection to the PC via the USB cable. Can you try using a different cable also check the pins on the female USB are not bent as i've seen that happen to someone else on this forum.
EDIT: If you have one, try using another USB cable.
I try on another computer and miraculously it picked up the USB drive!! I then ran the RUU and got a working rom in there
Thank you for your help!

Ok,
When you turn on the phone and its in bootloder mode, when you connect the USB cable, do you see USB in the bottom left?
If so you should be able to flash a new rom from this page. I would suggest the OEM rom which you can download from htc website.
Try to reflash an OEM and then try again.
Thanks, I let you now wean i do this
Hi to all,
i wanted to flash my radio rom to 1.50 but each time i put pda to boot mode it is always writen Serial not USB. I tried to flash it from SD card but it does flashing but when i reboot it is still old radio rom. Then i changed usb cabel and in boot mode it gives me USB connection.
I bought new one (1.8m long and tried it, again it gives me Serial. Tried several cables same story. Is there difference in usb cables?
So if you can not do hardspl, if it gives you error 260 and no usb in white part of boot screen just try other usb cable.

You don't happen to use Vista, do you? In case you do, read here!
...and I've told you to read the guides because flashing from the SD Card works in every case, if you make the procedure right (have HardSPL installed and you do it the way described here.)

this is not my first time to flash pda and i am not using vista.
It was my experience that wile i was in bootstarp screen (tricolor screen) while changeing several usb cables, with 3-4 of them it gave me only Serial connection but whith only with one of them it gave me USB connection on white screen and i could flash radio rom. Strange thing is thaht i can do synchromization with all of them. I tried it also on other computer with XP.
Maybe is something with my pda.
Oh yes i ahave hardspl 1.30.

OliPro 1.30 has been reported with some issues, maybe that's why you can not flash with SD Card. I'd say to install Des' Crash Proof SPL but then you can not flash because of USB issue.
I have similar problem, need to first put the pda in booloader mode.
After that my usb connection is somehow stalled and the pda shows a serial connection.
Then i either have to reboot the computer or use another usb bus, to get the pda connected with usb.. Has nothing to do with the cables, but the fact windows is winblows.... (xp in my case).
Perhaps this is another issue tho..
Br Fredrik
I can do flash with one cable it is working fine.
Why do you recommend Des' Crash Proof SPL. What is difference from hardspl? Except maybe less issues ?
this made my day and allowed me to flash in vista (twice) without breaking a sweat!

For some odd reason I can no longer get the the "serial" status to change to "usb". It charges but does not connect to activesync. I flashed many many times so I am not a noob at this but I might be making a noob mistake.
What I am using: SPL 1.54 (I use USPL 2.5). I am currently using Miri's v23 manilla 2.5. I am using the same pc (xp) and cables to flash.
What I've tried:
- used 3 different pc's and the original pc
- 4 different usb cables
- ticking/unticking the "enable faster data syncing" box in settings>connections>usb to pc
-ticking/unticking "allow usb connections" in activesync
-if I leave the cable in AND THEN put the phone in bootloader mode, the status is blank. When I remove the cable, it returns to "serial"
When the phone is on, it just doesn't seem to react (vista and xp)to the cable being plugged in. The led just shows that it's charging.
I pulled an all-nighter and I'm stumped.
Maybe you need to update the USB drivers. Same thing happened to me but it worked after updating the USB drivers as per this link.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=524619
I forgot the most important part-
Since the pc does not recognize that there's something plugged in, I cannot select the "HTC USB Sync" under device manager and proceed with updating the drivers. I don't think I need to but at this point I'm trying everything.
Unless there's another way of updating drivers without the phone showing up on the device manager...
Updated the usb drivers by plugging in an old htc device. The pc was able to recognize the other htc device and was able to switch from serial to usb.
But after the update, there was no improvement for the blackstone status.
Anyone? The phone still doesn't recognize the usb cable whether the phone is on or in bootloader, it just charges.
Any help is appreciated!

Seems something wrong with your device. Try to hard reset and do it again?
Or if you still cant connect to usb. there is another way to upgrade without connecting to pc. After upgrade to new ROM, try it again whether it can connect to pc or not? Here is some tips for you.
Connect your SD card to PC through microSD card. Copy all files from your SDcard to new folder in your PC. Then, right click on the microSDcard disk-->full Format by FAT32 (this step is very important).
After formatting SDcard, copy back all files to SDcard . Rename .nbh to BLACIMG.nbh (for Blacktone) and copy it to SDcard.
Insert your SDcard back to Touch HD. Turn off your device by Power button.
Go to Boot loader mode. Push and hold Vol. Down + press Power button.
After that your device with have a white screen with text " Press to power button for continue upgrade" press power button and it will start upgrade Rom.
You can check this video for more practical actions on youtube.(this video for HTC diamond2 but it's almost the same with Blacktone just different in rename step)
Hope it helps and cheer
Thanks for the tips =)
I've did a hard reset twice and still no luck.
I've tried to flash through SD but since I use USPL, it just hangs when I try.
If I have SPL 1.54.0000, is there something that can be flash through the SD without USPL?

I have not tried this. I am on HSPL 1.56olinex but you can try my suggestion cause I think it's the only one you can choose now. I never ever use USPL. I think you can do it step by step and carefully.

Hey all,
I've got a problem related to my Micro USB port (at least I think it is).
[Long story]
I've got a very annoying issue right now. Today I flashed Team ICSSGS RC4.1. Later when I connected my Galaxy S to my PC with the usb cable, no recharging icon appeared and my pc did not react to the connection at all.
Thinking it was a bug in RC4.1 (as OneCosmic RC 2.3 had the mass storage issue) I searched the ICSSGS thread, but not a single issue about mass storage mode was posted. So I flashed Devil kernel, hoping to fix it, but it didn't. Reflashed RC4.1, but problem still persisted.
I went radical and recovered a nandroid backup in CWM of ICSSGS RC3.0 (the one is was running earlier today), but somehow the recovery failed and left me with a semi-bricked phone. (Actually the 2nd time in a row when recovery semi-bricked my phone.)
Only download mode works. Recovery and normal boot bootloop.
[/Long story]
In short:
When connecting to PC to flash with Odin:
-At first the PC did not even notice the phone being connected through USB. Nothing happens.
-After blowing in the contacts of the Micro USB port, PC recognizes connection, but gives "Unknown device" error upon connecting. Reinstalling Samsung drivers does not work at all. Tested on laptop and home PC.
-Somehow I always have to blow into the Micro USB port to create contact and to get the PC to recognize a connection. But that's about it. "Unknown device" every time.
-When I plug in wall charger, the big battery icon appears, but stays grey all the time and after half a minute the phone boots, starting the bootloop.
Could it be that my Micro USB port is broken?
Any solution for this?
Thanks in advance!
I feel so stupid for recovering that nandroid backup. Otherwise my phone would still be working...
you will need the nexus drivers for your comp found here : w w w.multiupload.co.uk/BUCFT8M42 as your samsung drivers are no use now.
Thanks for your advice: Going to test it right away.
Unfortunately your link does not work for me.
I had the same problem but replacing the cable solved it.
Sorry for the duff link http://www.multiupload.co.uk/BUCFT8M42N

Tested this morning with someone else's cable, still the same issue.
Tried the Nexus driver, but still nothing. Also having troubles again to let the usb connection register. It connected after cleaning it, but now it does not seem to connect at all.
Could it be that the phone is completely busted and therefor breaks usb connection?
Haven't heard such a story yet, but is it possible?
I've got it sorted out.
Since it might be helpful for others that are searching for a solution:
1. I cleaned out my Micro-USB port using micro interdental brushes and a few drops of isopropyl alcohol. It also doesn't hurt to clean the contacts of your USB cable, just to be sure.
2. Connected the phone to my PC. This time my pc recognized it as a serial gadget.
3. Disconnected the phone and installed Nexus S driver (because of ICS rom on my Galaxy S)
Next connection my device was automatically recognized as an android phone.
Odin saw my phone as well and I could flash again!
My phone is back on Team ICSSGS RC4.2.
Thanks everyone for helping!
Same Issue cant fix
Hey guys im glad to see others are having the same issue but i cant seem to fix mine.
Assume im an idiot and ive missed something out but ill explain my situation....
Galaxy i9000 - windows 7 32bit - put ics on it a few weeks back following a guide on youtube (had never used odin or anything like that before) got it working but now have no usb comm options in the ics settings. now when i plug the usb (when it does detect at all) it says driver havent worked - device manager shows unknown device - i try update the driver and it says the best driver is already installed.
Im completely stuck and want to revert back to gingerbread so i can use my usb functions again. If i can get odin to see my phone again ill be relieved.
Any ideas?
Cheers guys! Seán.

But most of all, check your usb cable and try switching to another USB port after rebooting your PC
Hey guys, I have a big(or not?) problem.
My phone doesn't recognize my SD Card and when I connect my phone to PC via USB Cable, I don't get a notification "USB Connected". But I noticed that this isn't about USB Cable or PC, it's just about the SD Card. So we are going on this.
Also I can't get to flash mode by pressing back and plugging USB Cable, it just charges the phone. So that mean I can't use SEUS or similar ****?
I searched this on google and tried something like Automount SD app, factory reset, formatting SD Card to FAT or FAT32 but these didn't work.
I thought it was a easy problem but now I'm a bit afraid. What can I do now? Did I really messed up with that?
Edit: Guys, miraculously, I've solved the problem. I was trying something, I reinstalled PC Companion, SEUS and Gordon's Gate. Tried again but it was the same, no notification. And within a last hope, I tried to use SEUS, so I turned off the phone and started SEUS, miraculously I get to flash mode. Now it's working fine, thank you all for your help. I don't know how did it happen, I couldn't get to flash mode yesterday but now I can. Thanks again.

Any Ideas? I can't listen music, use camera and much more... It really bothers me now.

When you plug in your USB cable, can your PC detect your phone? sometime could be your USB port problem. Try on other PC/laptop, and see the result. If you PC couldn't detect your phone/USB cable, it wouldn't install the correct drivers, so PCC is unless in this case, You have to install Golden Gate driver instead.
Other the other hand, to enter into flash mode, you need to fully power down the phone first ( you didn't describe this step in your post). Then only hold the "back" button and plug-in the USB cable.
@Xmaster8
Yeah, I've tried it on mum's phone and worked.
@saintckk
No, my pc detects the phone, but not at all. I mean that I can charge the phone but I can't transfer files to my SD card. And there is no notification on my phone "USB Connected.".
And my sist just used the PC to put some music on her SD Card, so there is no problem with the cable or computer. There must be something else.
And I didn't get what you mean with "fully power down". If you mean turning off phone, I did this. But if you mean spending all the battery, I didn't do this.
