Hello all,
I am using a Karmba windows 6.1 Rom but hate the small virtual keyboard.
Everything else is great and I don't really want to change Roms.
Is there another version of the virtual keyboard I can install that has bigger keys so I don't need to use the stylus?
Thank you
yeah there are tons of sip's
all free all as cab so you can install them
and use sipchange to choose which is default
search around

Don't know about the windows original onscreen keyboard, but you can download and install TouchPal v3.5, the standard version is free and works way better than the original windows keyboard

Oh joy. Now that HSPL is approaching and there is even a great-looking 6.5 ROM in the offing life is beginning to have meaning again (how sad that sounds).
Could anyone tell me what the situation with keyboard drivers on Rhodium is? While I absolutely want an English OS I would hate to loose my Scandinavian "ÅÄÖ" characters on the HW keyboard. On the Kaiser there was a small driver that had to be nstalled each time I got a new ROM. I'm guessing it will be the same for Rhodium? Is anyone with more IT competence than me (=anyone ) given this any thought at all?
Thanks/M
please note, that layout is different, i had this problem with touch pro first version, i had to use some addons created to have the layout for finnish
version.
You just need to change the layout as execine said. Sometimes you have to add the layout if a prebuilt one does not exist. I am sure it can be ripped from an official rom for your country of origin.
well if really WM sucks in this area, I need at least 2 languages - and layout changing will not help at this situtation - because these languages have totally different chars.
why it's so hard for microsoft to make ADD KEYBOARD like it's done in windows XP?
lol it's version 6.5, how much more releases they have to done - just before they'll do this pretty simple feature?
It actually does exist. My sisters old Wing had it. Talk to aserg and ask him how he did it. I don't know. He had a way to use 2 different hardware keyboard layouts by hitting a softkey.
yes, it exist. e.g. at rhodium russian edition there are special button even at hardware keyboard, to change layouts. but if you want to use it at your locale you need to hack it. becuase there is no easy way to activate it on another rom. all others solutions mostly works for virtual keyboard - and this way you'll get new visual design - what I don't want to do, and others just for hw keyboards - what is not ideal either

Except my sisters device was an US device....
This thread has a hardware keyboard mapping utility. You can even have it run at startup. All that needs to be done is to create a custom layout file for the Scandinavian TP2.
I think i just found out that EZInput is a HTC addon only working with touchflo (which is called manilla?). Could someone confirm/deconfim that please?
I'm running a ROM called Revolution which runs titanium (without touchflo) - it frees up more ram which i really like (i kept running out of ram).
I really really hate that qwerty keyboard since it's so hard to hit with a finger (not using the stylus a lot) i remembered the old htc input thing that would put 2 or 3 letters on one button (old t9 style or the compact thing i think it's called?)
How can i install a keyboard that does that for my titanium?
Nope EZInput works with both Manila and Titanium. I think the input you're refering to is called the Phone Keypad. You could try out my latest ROM, you can choose between Full Qwerty, Compact Qwerty, Phone Keypad and Swipe inputs. (please read the instructions before you install my ROM)
...but if you want to stay with your current ROM then there is a registry edit that you can do to change your current input to Phone Keypad.
Ok thanks for the input I might check out your ROM, atm fighting to get WiFi working again...
Finally, I was able to install handwriting and other keyboards in 6.5 (with htc patch) Now I'd like to use the old classic little keyboard (better the 6.1 version) Is there any cab to install it?
Thanks.
Hi @ all,
i want to share my experience with the mini bluetooth keyboard PX-2563 from Generalkeys (ordered at www.pearl.de) and my hd2 running WinMo 6.5 orig. Vodafone german ROM 3.14. First of all i have to say this keyboard is low-priced and in my opinion this is good It makes a cheap impression and i will see how long it will run. The keys are made of soft rubber, but you have to press it relative hard. So for the first time i am not faster than with the on-screen keyboard.
The keyboard is delivered with a driver-cd. Don´t touch it if you want to use it with your hd2! There is an old version of blueinput on it but this is useless for me.
My solution to get it running and have the german layout:
1. Install Fingerkeyboard 2.1 from this great forum and only activate ger as language in the options.
2. Install AEKMAP 1.3 (it´s free, you don´t need to activate it)
3. Use the .aek-file with the correct layout (attached to this post)
4. pair the keyboard with your HD2
5. have fun
So you will have in round about 20 min. this keyboard running with a nearly perfect german keyboard layout
Infos about my attached keyboard-layout:
This is my first version for this keyboard. Most keys/characters are working. The ALT-Key is NOT working. Use CTRL instead of ALT! (CTRL+q for @, CTRL+e for €, CTRL+m for \). Umlauts and special characters are also working.

Thanks a lot for this post! I received my Pearl keyboard today and was very unhappy with the delivered software and the keyboard layout! I am using it right now with a HTC HD2 and the suggested software...
Unfortunatly the "€" is not mapped as it is not mentioned in the .AEK file. I'll try to get a clue how this mapping file works and maybe the ALT key will work some day
Best regards, CN

OOOPS! My fault. Now the attached aek-file in the first post has the €-sign and you can use it via CTRL+e. please download it again.

Hi,
I know this is an old thread but i'm actually running into the same problem with a French-layout Logitech Dinovo which, when paired with both my HD2 or HD Mini running WinMo 6.5, is recognized as English (qwerty).
I'd be curious to know how to proceed:
1/ choose fingerkeyboard as phone keyboard (?)
1'/ make sure AEK has the right layout selected
2/ pair with external keyboard
The only problem would be: i don't have the french layout compliant with the Dinovo (and support seem unable to help me with this matter). How could i make one ? Does that need special skills or a special software ?
Many thanks in advance...
