yes i know there are many threads about this but havent found what I have been looking for.
Is there any way to get start menu similar to the one in 6.1. I am so used to having a bunch of apps pinned to the start menu. Are there any apps out that might be able to achieve this?
using total commander if you go to windows/startmenu/programs you can add, and remove programs to the first page of the start menu..that should help accomplish what your looking for..well easy access to any app..unless your looking for the list style start menu then im not sure

Anyone know where in registry or options I can set the number of recently used programs to display in the start menu?
Thanks.
nope but there a app called startclean.exe that cleans lots of things including that each time you power down or reset its a great app.
Wisbar advance lets you change it to a PC style where you scroll across to open subitems, but other than that i havent found anything. Interested though!
Thanks for the suggestions guys.
Hello -
I am working on putting together a streamlined/simple interface for my Tilt. Using SPB Pocket Plus it's easy enough to delete everything from the today screen EXCEPT a few icons, which is what I want.
Now, if only there was a way to get rid of the start menu itself (and ideally the links at the bottom of the page, calendar & contacts or whatever you have down there).
The idea is to make the today screen as simple as possible and go for ease of use.
Does anyone have any ideas about how this might be done?
thanks!
Removing Start Menu
Removing the start menu is simple:
Delete the contents of the "Windows/Start Menu" subdirectory.
Yes Im a noob, trying to learn. Ive learned the hard way on somethings and Ive had to reinstall the T-Mobile rom 2-3 times already on messing up. When you open the "Start" button you have your programs from the "Menus" in the "Settings" you choose what shortcuts you want here. Then theres the line and I have a bunch of program icons and then another line and then "Programs, "Settings. How do you get rid of those icons or shortcuts in between the lines?
Thanks, I searched but couldnt find an answer please inform me.
it sounds to me, like you're trying to clear out the recently used programs list. If that's what you're talking about ... install this cab.
Err I ah cant figure out how to install this file Im still looking unless you just want to throw me a bone.
Wow, you are a newbie! It's a cab file. Download it on your device, locate it with file explorer, click it so it installs. Look in your program folder, find the program, run it.
Yea right after I got put that post up I had to leave for work. I knew that I had it on the phone and found it at work. Is there any way to keep the "recent folder" empty even after running a couple of programs other then running the cab to clear it out again?
Thanks for the replys though.
if you use quick menu it will hide recent programs in a seperate sub menu.
Sorry if this has been mentioned already - cannot find anything in the Diamond forums about this.
In the start menu on my Diamond at the top is a horizontal list of icons which appear to be recently started applications. Whilst this may seem useful, it is not something I want.
How do I remove/disable it?
Thanks
This is something i would like to know too.
Right now, the only way to list ALL programs is to tap on your start button, then tap on "all programs" below.
However, I feel more comfortable with the old windows programs list with 3-4 rows of icons. How can I get that back without removing the TF3D2 start menu?
Perhaps someone knows a shortcut to it?
Perhaps a shortcut to the windows settings page would be useful too.
Thanks!

Thanks for yr reply, but I've come across this before.
The thing is, I want to retain HTC's new start menu, at the same time have a shortcut to WM programs list.
