I have a very big problem. My notification looses all reminders excluding the g-alarm. Knows somebody the the solution for this problem please? I have done many times hard reset. Nothing helps.
Thank You!
Are you using any cleaning program, like for instance Memmaid, to clean up your device from clutter?
I use SK Tools. There I have seen that there are no notification, what was approved by the reality.
I've seen that Memmaid deletes almost all my notifications, because D2 adds "/allday" after the "calendar.exe". Memmaid sees this as an invalid notification that must be deleted by the queue. I've read Blackstone users reporting the same behaviour from SKtools.
I've informed Memmaid about this, but never had any reply.

Hi all,
This has happened twice now - randomly and on different alarms (of the 3 you can set). I have been woken up with what sounds like a phased sound. It turns out the alarm has gone off twice - a fraction of a second apart. There are also two notification messages. I also had an instance of the alarm NOT going off at all (more worrying) despite being set.
Any ideas? A soft-reset seemed to work but then it came back this morning...
Odd!!!

Yeah, it's an old problem. Duplicate notifications accumulate in the notifications queue. Use Sktools or Memmaid or Scarybear check notifications to clear the Duplicates from the queue. Be careful not to delete entries called repllog though (they are needed by Active Sync.)
It's a good idea to use one of the apps above to clear out on a fairly regular basis.

It's really about time this was fixed. My old Magician used to do it too, and that was WM2003SE!
Eventually I got so fed up I started using SPB Time instead, as that doesn't double the alarms.
Where is this queue held? Is it a txt file, reg or inside a binary?

Forgot to give a link to the freeware Scarybear Check Notifications app:

The Scarybear software does not work well with the Kaiser. I used the standard settings to clear dups, and it hosed ActiveSynch and firing of reminders. A restore to a backup restored functionality, and unfortunately the multiple alarms. (I get three for some alarms.)

Good info!!
Personally I always thought Scarybear was a bit dodgy, but it is freeware (but that's maybe just me). I use Sktools and have not had a problem with losing the repllog entries for ASync.
It would be interesting to hear others confirm a problem with Scarybear or otherwise - anyone?
Mike
Yeah - I also toasted ActiveSync. My fault though - I removed a couple of entires, thought "this is easy" so removed all duplicates. BANG. Hard reset and rebuild later and I am now a bit wiser. Does anyone know which lines *are* the double alarms?
Well, for alarms created on the Alarms tab under the clocks and alarms settings, to clear dups one can uncheck any created alarms, do a soft reset, then go back and enable them again. This will clear the duplicates. For synched meeting noticed from the calendar, one can go in with scarybear and manually find dups and delete them one by one.
Alternatively, you can download and install "Task Manager" to check on the notification queue. In the queue, it'll state the time of which the particular event will take place. Find the problem maker and delete it.
I never had this problem with my Trinity before, but now with the TyTN II it's back to the old days of WM2003SE... i just can't believe that M$ still hasn't fixed this...!
Anyway; does anyone know of another FREEWARE app that fixes this (other than Scarybear) reliably? Preferably an app that does nothing other than cleaning out this DB...
Hello everyone and thanks for the great forum.
sorry if I'm repeating someone elses question but the search proved fruitless.
My Kaiser receives an sms but gives no notification of it nor does it show in Inbox until after exactly 60min. (got this far now after sending myself one).
Then it will notify me according to my notification settings and the arrival time shown is 60 minutes earlier (sometimes less).
I know that I have received one because it comes out of standby and the clock shows that it is working on something. It just cannot get at it which can be really annoying.
I have lots of stuff on the Kaiser and do not want to hard reset yet. Surely the sms should at least show in the inbox?
Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Spec:
Kaiser originally locked on Orange UK now on o2 Germany.
HTC WM6.1 3.02.405.0 WWE
Radio 1.58.26.20
Software:
ilauncher, spb stuff, Kaisertweak, Pocket informant, Theft alert, Resco stuff, couple of SatNavs, Net CF 3.5, ip-dashboard, lots lots more
phoneweaver and other notification progs that took hours and hours to set up with profiles.
Mortbuttons with piles of shortcuts and menus.
UPDATE 11.12.2008
Changed the ROM and Radio to the following:
Hard SPL 3.56
ROM from BBR HTC 2.0 based on HTC 3.34.00.00
Radio 1.70.19.09
Anyone have any ideas as to what I could try next?
Thanks a bundle
bumping this thread up.
Hmm, theft alert.. doesn't that one mess with SMS? Most of these progs have features to silently activate them via SMS, and in order to do that it means they must intercept the messages before the system grabs them, evaluating them and forwarding them to the system if they are not trigger messages. The program could screw up and not forward the messages to the system correctly.
I'd try uninstalling that one, and if it doesn't help I'd go on with all others that would somehow be related to messaging.
THANK YOU KILRAH !
That sorted it. I honestly don't know why I didn't try that myself but sometimes it takes someone ike yourself to suggest it and I didn¨t suspect UTA at all. As soon as I uninstalled Ultimate theft alert and did a soft reset it started working.
A clear sign was the error message I got when I received the first sms after the soft reset:
"utamon.exe
InvalidProgramException"
and lots more...
Another soft reset and everything was fine. Should maybe have done a registry search to delete the rest but as long as everything is working I'll leave it.
Thanks again for your suggestion. It helped an awful lot !!
Glad to hear it works!
every 2 or 3 days when my alarm sounds i get no onscreen noticfication to dismiss the alarm, only the symbol in the status bar.
When i look into sounds notification/reminders i see the "display message on screen" box is unchecked again so i recheck it.
What causes this to uncheck itself?
are you experiancing this behaviour or have any insight into the cause?
thanks
I have the exact same prob. It started when I used Diamond TF3D Config prog to change the diamond theme.
Dont know why it happens bro.
Anyone knows how to disable Missed Alarm Alert (symbol on the status bar) so I don't need to go to status bar console and remove it every morning ?

I believe i was having this problem before i had installed Diamond TF3D.
The search continues.
Im having the problem on TLR3 ROM and i know people who are also haveing this trouble on 1.37 original ROM and the 1.93 Original.
I'm using TF3D Config and also 1.93 ROM but I don't seem to have this issue?
Although I have never used it to apply a 'theme' only, to change date/time format and apply one of the performance tweaks.
Have you guys updated your TF3D config via apptodate and also tried restoring defaults (within TF3D config) and then tried applying your settings again?
i too only use TF3D config to format the date, i have updated it using apptodate.
I may uninstall it and see what effect that has, im not really sure that TF3D is the cause of the problem.

Yes, I'm on the original 1.37 ROM and am seeing this - bl00dy annoying too as it seems such an odd 'bug'....

Had this happen again today, really annoys the wife as i spend time trying get the phone to shut up.
I have made no progress determining the cause, but it does only seem to uncheck the box after a soft reset, but strangley not after every soft reset..... the plot thickens
This problem only happens after i reset the device, but not every time.
As i cant find the cause i was thinking of a way to fix the problem.
i found the reg entry for the reminders show "on screen"
\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Notifications\{15F11F90-8A5F-454c-89FC-BA9B7AAB0CAD}
and i have the values for the box checked and unckecked.
I have been googleing for the past hour but having no luck with what i want to achieve.
I would like to write a batch file to open a reg file that will change the dismiss box registry entry to the checked value, but it seems batch files cannot be run from the windows start up folder.
Im not very technically skilled with programming so could someone more knolegable point me towards the correct way of doing what i desired, which is change a rehgistry value at start up.

I could write an executable that will restore the registry entires on start-up but I can't find the registry value that controls it.
Which value are you editing?
Start / Settings / Sounds and Notifications
Page Notifications
Event - choose Reminders
Check on Display Message.

If that was in reply to me, I'm looking for registry entry!
This thread seems closest to the problem I have.
For me it is always that on alarm there is no popup where I can dismiss the or snooze the alarm
I always have to unlock the phone (by entering password), tap the status bar, then choose the alarm button and then the pop up appears as it should have done by itself.
This is always, no matter if I reset or not. And, I have checked on "display message" when I look into the settings.
This is freaking weird and annoying.
I've noticed the box unchecks after the sync process via Activesync.
I'm pretty sure it's caused by particular side software we have installed on our Diamons. I propose to post the side software list we have and then point out the pattern.
My list:
MS Voice Command
Finix Battery Icon
Splash ID
Sprite Backup
Diamond Tweak
Resco Explorer
Yandex Maps
Skype
CorePlayer
G-Alarm
Manila Calculator Skin
Yota TV
Nice idea but already flawed given you've not published an exhaustive list. A case in point being Activesync - that's a resident piece of software and furthermore one which you suspect as possibly being responsible!
Or are you certain it is a non-Windows issue? That's quite a leap of faith given we've all previously been scratching our heads...
I don't mean to come across negative, but I also don't want to see a futile attempt at finding a solution!
Mathew
No I am not pretty sure it's not Windows issue. However, if it is, why there are so few of us suffering?
I suspect G-Alarm, got to try to play around with it being uninstalled.
I'm having the same annoying problem since running the 2.03 official ROM. On the 1.93 I never had this problem. I didn't install G-alarm or TF3DConfig.

That's a very good point, although it could quite simply be down to a combination of i) a limited number of people using the alarm, ii) affected users not being bothered by the issue, and/or iii) affected people not realising they are being affected!

I had it on 1.93 and still on 2.03
I installed Vito's SMS-Chat program, after testing it a while I uninstalled it. After the uninstallation I always get an pop-up saying the sms-message has been sent. I didn't get that before, and it's kinda annoying so I want it gone.
I've looked in start->settings->sound and notification, but there are no options for sms-delivered-thingy.
I've also tried Advanced Config, and tried to use the tweak there witch let's you enable/disable sms-sent-notification, but that doesn't change anything (I've applied the tweak, and reset my device, but nothing happened).
I've searched this forum and elsewhere for answers, but couldn't find any, I've emailed Vito but they haven't answered. I've seen that others on these forums have had notification problems, but they have all been about the opposite of my problem (their sms-notification has disappeared and couldn't get it back).
I use the latest standard rom from HTC, 1.93. As I see it, my last option is to do a hard-reset, but I was hoping I could avoid that.
Thanks in advance, and btw, I'm from Norway, so sorry for any grammatical-errors and such.
Use DiamondTweak.. disable sms sent notification..
Thanks for the help, that actually worked!
I have searched and searched for the last 3 days on XDA and other websites for a solution to this and this is the best I can come up with.
http://freewareppc.com/communication/missedcallreminder.shtml
This program will repeat the notifications for SMS and missed calls. After you hit the "Apply" button the program appears to close but it's not it's sitting in memory but as far as I can tell it doesn't really hurt performance. What I did to solve the fact that you have to run it after every soft reset is I copied the shortcut to the windows/startup folder. When your TILT boots it will auto run and retain the previous settings. You just need to press accept when ever you reset the phone.
This does NOT cause the notification to continuously repeat even after you read the SMS like the registry edit does.
Unlike PhoneAlarm, this program is very small and doesn't slow down the device.
I am NOT the author of this program, just suggesting the program here.
P.S. As you can see by my join date, I am new the the neighborhood. I am by no means an expert, but I hope this helps other people avoid the search/install/soft reset/uninstall/soft reset (REPEAT 10 times)
For those interested, that program was actually started here on XDA. Here is the thread where you should post all questions and requests for the author.
