My diamond has a yellowish patch towards the bottom left hand on the screen. Its only visible when the screen is showing something white only. Anybody else having this problem? any solution?
This is a very common issue with the Diamond... The yellow "clouds" is easier to see when the phone runs hot or with white backgrounds as you mentioned...
Check out this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=411487&page=2
There's nothing you can do to make the yellow spots go away, either you will have to live with it or change the display (or phone).

Hy guys,
I'm new to the forum so I take advantage to greeting all. My english is poor so sorry for errors
I have bought a Tytn II on 26 January 2008, 3 days ago I found some very small horizontal lines in the screen using the PDA walking, expecially on the top or the bottom. At home I found that this horizontal lines are not due to moviments of the phone but are visible every time I move the head looking the phone, expecially looking the top and the bottom bar.
For example moving the phone with the hand are visible, looking the phone on the table and moving the head up and down are visible, but holding the eye on the screen, with the phone on the table, and without moving the pda or the head this lines are not visible......
So I don't think that the problem is due to vibrations or electric issue.
Can someone tell me if it's normal or what is the problem? Does anyone have the same issue?
Tks very much in advance.

Hy and tks for the answer.
No It's not a battery level indicator. I have a very small screen flickering problem moving the phone because some very small white horizontal lines appear on the screen.
It's strange that this problem appear when I look the phone without fix the eyes on it. If I hold the phone on the table and I look it moving my eyes up and down the problem appear. Looking the phone without moving my eyes does not reveal any problem.....
Hi
It doesn't sound like a fault more normal behavior.
It's all to do with how the phone refreshes the pixels on the screen. When you move your head your brain picks up the screen refreshing the image, this is because the image is no longer static and so your brain is "sampling more often" trying to make sense of what is happening and so catches a glimpse of the screens workings.
Remember what we see on a computer monitors is very much an illusion, they are seldom static images being displayed.

Phil

Hy Phil,
tks for the answer. It's exactly what I think, but I have seen another kaiser, and I found that the "problem" is present too but in a very small way compared to what I see on my phone.
May be a different refresh rate? A different configuration of the screen?
Tks again
After being in my pocket for some time, there is a rainbow effect on the screen. I can change the location of this effect if I push elsewhere on the screen; however, it seems to concentrate itself right in the center. It has no ill-effect on the touch screen but it is visible under certain angles when the screen is on. I am using the screen protector that came with it. After some time being out of my pocket it dissipates and looks normal.
Anyone else experience anything like this?

Yeah, I have.. I haven't noticed it's touch sensitive, but I've seen the problem while rebooting and also randomly while using the phone.. And it seems like for me the screen gets progressively worse and starts losing all contrast and fades to white. A reboot always fixes it.
My guess is something in the video drivers flips out. But the first time I saw it I thought I had a hardware problem because I found it that way in the morning out of the blue, but I guess it had started doing it 'itself' overnight or something.

I dont think it has anything to do with the screen itself. But the digitizer and the multiple layers on top of the screen that the digitizer is composed of.
Newton's rings isn't it?

Yes that is exactly it - the diffraction of light between 2 surfaces, is it normal; however?
Thanks!

Nooo, then maybe what I'm talking about is different. I'm talking crazy screen, weird 'rippling' going on, screen slowly turns more and more white. I know what newtons rings are.. It's sorta visible in sunlight.
So perhaps I'm describing a different issue. Mine is definitely something with the phone, not the layers.
Hello,
if I use my X1 in a dark ambience with a dark background on the telephone, I can see that some areas of the display are brighter than others (particularly the top right and left side of the display).
Its only visible in dark areas with a dark picture on the telephone (e.g. the Sony Ericsson start up screen). If I have a colured picture or white picture and if the ambience is bright I cant see the brighter areas anymore.
Is this phenomenon ok or is my X1 damaged?
I think its normal (whether that's OK for you or me is a different question)
There were 2 or 3 threads on this a couple of months back -try searching for "light bleeding" or "screen fade" or "light leakage" and you should find them
Thank you for the post!
Seems that everyone has this problem so it wouldnt be helpful to return it, right?
How do you mean i don't get it.
i don't have any problems with the backlight
Than you are a lucky man

Thnx, I hope i don't get any problems with my backlight or else i would be very upset
My X1 doesn't seem to have this issue
But maybe I should try with something darker than this...
You need to photograph your display while having a dark picture on it. The failure is a physical one, that is why you cant save it with a screenshot.
Another question:
Varies the intensity of the bleeding problem from phone to phone or has the problem everytime the same intensity on every phone in case that the problem occurs?

The top left/right corners are a bit "yellow" for me, I guess that's just normal.
It really isn't noticable most of the time though, so I don't care about it .
Yes you are absolutely right, they are a bit yellow!
And only visible with a black backround, right?
Probably heat related.
Check it with the X1 stone cold, check it when it's been in use for a while.
Sorry but what is the X1 stone cold?

Oops sorry, regional thing I guess.
I mean when it's cold as in hasn't been turned on for a while, hasn't been on charger for a while (and is as cold as a stone )
Hmh as far as I can see is the problem everytime the same. It doesnt matter if the telephone is hot or not.
Old thread, but actual situation...
I have the same problem: on the top right corner (and just a bit on the top left corner) when the display is on and black (start up, panel manager etc.), i see a yellow light...
Should i return it?
Hi I have a small problem with my galaxy and I wonder if it is a common thing or is it a sporadic case. I recently took my galaxy in assistance for the replacement of the screen (between lcd and capacitive glass had a hair) Once again after a while 'I realized (I think that there is a problem from the beginning) that appeared on the display strange signs. Initially I thought it was a lcd problem then I tried to shift the LCD image and saw that signs remained fixed as if they were between display and glass. I brought the phone back in service but they said there were no defects. For sureness (they were very nice) they showed me another galaxy just out of the box and presented the same peculiarities. It seems to me (but I'm not sure) that the first galaxy that I had not had this feature.
If you want to help me try to manually set the display brightness to low and pull down the curtain of the notification bar, or choose a dark gray background and gimme an answer.
thank you
i attach a photo
anyone?
I saw that many people have downloaded the image.
thank you
Can you explain what is so peculiar about it ? I dont see anything wrong with that image . Is it the three orange color curved lines ?? (though that looks to me like a reflection of something).
Are you talking about the red haloing effect around the white text?
Apart from the orange claw 'reflection' in the top right there is nothing discernible about that image.
orange signs are camera lens reflection. I talk about grey zones of images. If you watch closely you notice that some grey pixel zones are different from other. With a kind of green blur.
thank you for your answers
Is this what you are concerning about?

So I have noticed that when I scroll on my HD7 there are black lines across the top of every column - in other words it looks like the screen is lagging slightly behind the scrolling.
It is most obvious when you see it blue on black as far as I can tell.
It seems to vanish with a white background. It is something I have seen on every HD7 I have seen in stores and my own HD7.
It is almost like the effect of when you wave your finger/hand in front of your face and you see a trail.... that is what it looks like.
Is that a screen issue or a human eye can't keep up issue?
I am sorry if you now notice this issue on your new phone
in another thread about this someone said it was due to the screen not refreshing quickly enough due to the type of lcd used, I do know it happens on mine as well though, try setting it to the purple theme, it gets really bad, and if you tilt the phone the theme turns pink which amused me.
