Same text message keeps sending - Touch Diamond2, Pure Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Every time my wife sends a text message on her new TD2, it keeps sending over & over again.
Either it get's stuck in the outbox or the drafts folder. If she deletes it from both its stops sending - *until* the phone is switched off & on and then it appears back in the outbox & starts sending again.
Anyone else having this problem?
It's completely stock ROM (no extra installed apps).
Tried a different SIM, from another network but the problem persists.
Suggestions very welcome (since I'm the one who receives these messages!)

similar thing happened to me also. on the first day with brand new phone - nothing installed yet. every sms got sent 3 to 5 times. it seemed to be affected by waking up from standby. hard reset solved the issue for me. goodluck

Receiving Messages

When I first got my Tilt, messages would receive fine, now, occasionally a message won't be received until I go to my inbox. If I remember correctly, every time this happened I was using the HTC Home plug in, but I'm not sure if that's the cause of the problem. Help?
That was my experience, that having the HTC Home or the Task manager running on the Today screen would cause it to not pick up my emails while the phone was in standby. I would suggest disabling both of those and see if you start receiving emails again.

Help phone keeps sending texts by itself!!

Everyone has been complaining and telling me that my Sprint HTC Touch Pro w/ Juicy v6 Rom(PPCGeeks.com) and Rhodium HTC New Contact Card(xda-developers.com) has been sending out my last replied message at least 100 times. And I know it's true because I got a facebook message and replied "n" for more info on something, and then that message kept coming back at least 100 times or something. WHAT CAN I DO???? It's driving me crazy and everyone else who contacted my phone too.
i had the same thing happen, i'd like to know what causes it as well...
also, this is just a temporary fix... delete all the messages in your outbox, inbox, sent and deleted items folders, that SHOULD stop the messages from going out.. but if you send another message it will happen again.
had same issue it was caused by arcsoft mms app
i had this problem too, i just hard reset and my phone stopped. not sure what caused it but havent had the problem since..probably a bad flash

SMS disappeared

I'm using the HTC Diamond.
Today I received an sms and I couldn't get into the message to read it, so I decided to turn off my phone, and turn it back on again – I did the soft reset (pressing the power button on the top of the phone and not the instant soft reset button). I have done this before and it worked after that.
However, after I turned on the phone again today, the smses I received and sent since 23/07/2009 have disappeared.
I also checked the most recent call history and it's there – so it's not as if the phone decided to backdate itself.
Has this happened to anyone else? I would like to retrieve those missing smses (at least the ones I received) if I could. Is there a particular directory that the phone stores these smses?
Help would be much appreciated!
If you receive an SMS and soft reset the phone, the new SMS gets lost. You have to wait a few minutes (or hours?) to get it actually saved to the device. I believe it is due to some caching mechanism that the new mesages are not written to storage immediately. This is a poor design decision but we have to live with it.
As for losing older sms' I don't know what could be the problem. Maybe you restarted the device just in the instant it was flushing the cache to the storage and the data got corrupted?

sms problem

been texting a lot lately and just recently ran into a problem running. i was running into issues with the signal dropping completly and then coming back. my friends experienced the same problem so i figured it was just the area we were in. i got a sms notification for 1 unread message the other day and this is where the sms problem started.
upon trying to open the unread message the phone would hang with the 'thinking' circle. the message would open but only after almost 8 minutes. the home screen will say no new messages but when i opening the messaging program it still shows as unread. the phone will hang and become unresponsive if i try to do anything to that unread message.
i cannot send out messages either. i can write them perfectly but the phone will hang once i try to send or save as draft.
lastly, i cannot recieve messages. not sure why. none of my settings have changed. i did a soft reset and deleted the inbox.xxxxx folder on my sd card with no success.
i'd like to see if anyone has a solution to this problem before i try to hard reset. i have a non-modded att tilt running, stock wm6.1 w/o bloatware. radio had never been changed from the wm6.1 upgrade.
cliffs:
cant recieve/send sms
phone is not responsive when sending new message
backed up PIM data and did a hard reset. sms/mms was still not working after the initial reset so I reset it again restored PIM. sms/mms is working again.

Getting a lot of 'Unfortunately... has stopped working"

Hey guys, a couple of days ago, my phone started popping up those 'Unfortunately.. has stopped working" messages for a lot of programs. For example, camera stopped, keyboard, gmail etc. What would cause this?
I then proceeded to backup and I did a factory reset by doing it via phone which worked but then I kept on getting the same messages. I then proceeded to use Smart Switch on the PC to do a reset but the same things happen. Added with this was when I did the email verification I had to get a new password but did a reset after that and I think the phone is locked for 72 hours via the email verification.
I plan on taking it back to the dealer to get it sent in.
Is there anything else I could have done or still do?
Thanks,
D
if you flashed new rom with smart switch and messages keeps pops out, problem must be hardware related.
I would guess so. I didn't flash any rom, just stock. I brought it back to the dealer to send off to Samsung
