WM05 AKU2 to BA - test

I need someone to test this ROM, because I dont have a BA.
OS 5.1.195 (Build 14847.2.0.0)
STOP !!! ROM IS NOT WORKING

It is possible that you have to reflash the old rom!

Is this based on the Himalaya rom?

How likely is it to turn my BA into a paperweight? LOL

I used the the newest QTEK Wizard Rom.
There would not be any difference between Him or Wiz OS. Same build same files.

?? no omap or xscale code optimalisation ?? files can not be the same :|

I ported the German Wizard rom successfully to my Himalaya and I did the same with the WWE version at this rom.
But there could be differences. In this case, the rom would not work.

First Impressions..
OK.. bearing in mind that i only installed the Ivan Rom about 3 hours ago.. My MDAIII is getting a beating tonight.. However...
Ok.. Standard stuff.. Bootloader mode.. Set operater..
The update was relatively quick.. only took about 8 minutes,
Formatted the hive and storage OK..
And it hang on the Windows Mobile Screen!
and it keeps on hanging on the windows Mobile Screen.. :?
No New device Setup.. No shimmer of life.. No backlight.. Just the on/Off button Works
Sorry mate.. Back to the drawing Board!

I have not changed the drivers, only the OS.
I compared a Univesal and Wizard rom and the OS is exactly the same.

That may well be bepe.. But it doesnt install past teh windows Mobie screen...
Something is wrong mate.. normally it should give you that screen you get when the device need to be setup the fist time.. and it doesnt.. It just hangs..

***NOTE: To all wanting to test this, the ROM will not finish the BOOT sequence. This is the same or similar problem both mamaich and I have had with undertaking the Himalaya AKU2 Port to date. ***
The device will initialize, gets to the 'boot splash' screen, runs that ...
The "coldinit.exe" is started, since we hear the 'ding' happen ...
At this point the device locks - an animated "dialog" appears to want to be displayed.
The boot process proceeds no further. Presumably crashed.
Additionally, the LEDs are dead/disabled so I can not tell if the phone (RIL, BT, etc.) is still available/operating. Power button or screen taps do NOT relight the backlight, or enable the screen. Presumably locked up.
Ok ... excellent work so far, however the same problem(s) seems to be arising which both mamaich and I have run into when using the Himalaya AKU2 port.
My guess is that this is probably due to the same missing DLL interface calls being available in coredll.dll. There are now 5 additional entry points in the XIP portion of this DLL, and this could be causing the 'hang'.
It looks VERY promising though ... I'm definitaly going to be taking a VERY close look at this ROM as well. The boot sequence is quite dramatically different, and may lead to some possibilities in merging ROMs to avoid the requirements of changing XIP section modules.
P.S> TuMa v1.4 will be out shortly ... it's now combining elements from the Wizard, Himalaya 1.7x & 2.0, Jasjar, Atom, Acer, and the original v3.1 BA from mamaich now. Trying to merge the 'best' of the available elements for a well performing and stable device.

Not a problem.. Just let me know when you want another one tested!

Hi folks
could any of the little genius in this forum told me why , every time i try to install a Aku3 rom on my wizard (fully unlocked,and with the good ipl/spl verson) i got stuck after the second reset on the green windows screen ,no way to go further but hard reset the device , at the end back to a lower rom ,in my case the molsky's rom wich i have to say is perfect (thanks Molsky) ,but i 'd like to try a fully aku3 rom only once, damned it !

i will be the self proclaimed genius for a minute... but it helps to know which aku3 rom you are trying to flash to..... riddle us that and maybe we can find you an answer

well , i've tried the ell 's rom , i was betta tester for faria 's and hadd the problem.
could it be something with the extended rom , cause after the hard reset there is no track of it ...

well i dont know anything about ell's, but i think faria's first release had that problem, he had to correct it and re-upload it (dont qoute me, i havent been able to keep up with his thread much less this board) But try to re-download faria's beta and try it again...

I've had the same problem, both with ell's and with faria's (version 3), it reaches 99% on the phone, then says finished on the PC, but never actually finishes. Board members suggested various things (rolling back to an earlier rom, cid unlocking) which I tried best I could. In particular, when I tried to cid unlock, which involves a long list of instructions including installing activeperl, the perl program reported a missing file and failed. I've installed several other roms, but perhaps thanks to the clever cooks (xelencin and molski) the cid unlocking was taken care of.
There is another thread on this issue which didn't seem to reach a conclusion.

btw, im using farias 3.2 and it has a minimal extrom, after a hard reset it finishes in about 3 seconds and it dont reset the device...it works that way...but u have to run a "setup" thats located in mi "mi documents/extras/runonce" but some bug makes the file "temperamental" so u have to run it several times sometimes...after the setup finish the device reset and u have the complete rom...
But all this only works when the rom proccess is finished, so this is not helpfull to the one having problem with not passing 99% ...

AKU3 problem
Well i've done all this with both rom even the run once on faria's ,it start ok with everything but after not the first re start but the second re start ,it froze on the green windows ...

Faria's AKU3.2 Rom doesn't have a Green Windows Splash Screen...

yea, its like a washed light blue...maybe he refers to that?
in my case i had problems in the begining, but i did a hard reset and everithing worked fine from then...

no i refer to the windows WM5 direct push screen you got just opening your device after the version number !

IMO it is more a light blue than a green...
did u tried a hard reset?

I don't think anyone can explain this, before you tell us exactly which "AKU3" ROM you're using. (The green screen puzzles me)

agree with vilem, r u sure u have the farias rom? (u r part of the test team, u received a mail from him with the password and a .doc with instructions and so on? what is the exact name of the file u downloaded and from where? )

Aku 3 problem
Well i think i already said that a couple of time before ,i've tried all the AKU3 rom around ,ell ,faria and one other fellow i forgot the name but i don't think that's really important because all these roms were supposed to work with my wizard and did with many others , i can't join you a picture of this screen but everybody working on wm5 knows that damned windows screen which use to be blue on aku2 rom and it's now clear green on the aku3 rom (so far) ,just after the bootloader .

dunno the others aku3 but farias one dont have a green splash there...and i only have experience with farias version so i cant help you, sorry...
btw...farias version is in closed test so far, so unless u r part of the test team u hardly tried that particular one...

hey i got a kaiser with duttys rom hybrid and i changed something about the weather and then it asked me to soft reset and when i did it now it wont load past the windows mobile 6.1 screen. can anyone please help me? any suggestion would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance

I bet its a radio version. Do you know what version of Duttys ROM was it and what is the radio loaded. Find the version of the ROM then go look in the thread for that ROM. It is in the ROM Development forum.

did you try a hard reset?

is that where you just turn if off and take the battery out then put it back in and turn it back on? if it is, then i have tried it many times but still no luck please help..

No not at all.
Place two fingers on the two softkeys while sticking the stylus into the hole next to the usb port

i just tried it but when it resets it still doesnt load past the windows mobile 6.1 screen

Already downloaded the file and flashed it to my fon. Flashing time is reduced from 30-40 minutes to just 13 minutes. Its fast and stable. Been using it now, i'll observe it and report any bugs i may encounter.

Hi mate
sorry but from what i read about this app you have to have wince_nls in the XIP and there's not enougth space in XIP, so It's a none starter
there's so little space left in the rom now with 6.5 that were gona need to find some other way to do things, we may make it to the end of 6.5 there's a small cab with my rom and that don't fit in the rom that's Y it's in the cab
but wm7 needs hardware we don't have in our devices

but I am having problem with external bluetooth GPS module. I turn ON bluetooth on the device and the module. Then pair it and select to use "Serial Port". But the device is listed as Disconnected and when I try to connect, it says: "Your device did not connect with GW-GPS-005. The connection failed or the passcode is incorrect."
Passcode is correct and in WM5, 6.1 and some beta 6.5 it worked just fine
edit: same problem when connecting to Nokia 6260. Will try flashing some WM6 ROM to be sure the BT on Himalaya is working(worked last week, but to be sure)
edit 2: so the BT is working, but every 6.5 ROM I tried can't connect to anything... can someone please test if their bluetooth is working? please please

Flashing again finished in just 13 minutes, start menu folders multimedia, accessories and communication now been updated. And flashing with this rom did not made any changes to the installed programs in my previous rom specially contact numbers,titanium theme and other components except for time settings, ringtone and task bar icons which have to reset or reinstalled. Noted speed and stability is still present. Is this related to flashing rom without losing data thread in development and hacking section? just curious

Hi mate
Over the last 2 years or so I'v had with many rom this sort of probs with GPS devices in 6.1 and more so in 6.5 ROM's
1) work round is to pair some other device/s IE: PC, Headset, or some other phone ETC. then pair GPS, It will then have to use a different port/dma/irq etc..
Over on Blue Angel forum "GloomyBoy" did a tutorial on fixing some probs with 6.5 an GPS it's worth a look
I'v just paired my bt_gps ok, It's unbranded don't know it's make got it with hima 4 years ago
Please let me know how you get on and ill see if its something that can be builtin

most times if you had programs installed to ramdisk then there still there after a reflash but not every time if new rom ramdisk size not same as last then it will be lost for sure,
P.S. after you flashed the ROM in the upgrade folder there's a file RUULog.log can you past it's contents or zip it here so i can see, Y your flash time is so short as it's 40 mins with my dual core 2gHz laptop

sorry i tryed porting to another language once before and didn't manage it,
i'v seen a tutorial, I think in hima forum how to doit but, you'll have to search it out and try it,
Note when building for any other language than "WWE" there are more file and there larger too, Space is in short supply
not saying it can't be done but it will be hard good luck

I looked over at the Blue Angel forum and the tutorial is basicaly the same I did every time when pairing my Hima with the GPS on WM5, 6 or 6.1 but is not working on 6.5(for me) because the dang thing is somehow unable to connect.
So I tried to pair something else. Headset is working fine and other phones not.
But this is no issue with your ROM, my Hima can't connect to anything on any 6.5 ROM as I found out. The only option for me is to flash 6.1 ROM and live with it, because I use the phone only as a GPS navigation
Still, thanks for your time, your ROM is realy nice, fast and all

Sorry, I can not speak English well, I have an O2 XDA II, I wonder what can I install it? I only see programs for the Himalaya, to my not have anything that I can install? I know it's kinda old, but has a reasonable processor, it would not install the WM 6? Thanks for any help.

To tell the truth you can install everything, but remember, it must be intended for Himalaya

80% of all programs made for windows mobile / pocketpc (from pocketpc2000) will run just fine on himalaya
when it comes to roms though you can only use himalaya roms but you can get wm5 wm6 wm6.1 wm6.5 in himalaya flavours

I have a himalaya and did not know, excellent information on my o2 xda II. My xda II uses Windows Mobile 2003 yet, which the stable WM6.5 ROM, your telling me recommend to install on my XDA II.
His Information:
ROM version: 1.72.00WWE
Radio Version: 1.72.181
Model: PH10B

Simply put, you have to see what he will work with you.
There is a particular rule

I wanted to install a stable version because I do not know if after I get back to old version. If someone can tell me the difference in rom and kitchen, I am grateful. I could install the kitchen of sundream on my xda II? It is the first topic of this session.

bro lukexp, u cannot install the kitchen of sundream. sure the kitchen is intended for cooking the ROM that (perhaps) u need.
of course, u need the ROM to be installed into ur Himalaya. there are fews ROM that u may choose:
C Shekhar's, Ather's, Sundream's, etc for WM 6.1
or
Swampy395's, aeroflyluby's for WM 6.5.
but before u do ur himalaya, please read this

Unpack, there is 2 files, NK.NBF and HIMAUPDATETOOL
Get your himalaya:
- Push POWER button, and PAD button (accept button, middle) and then push RESET - small hole next to loading slot
- you see SERIAL text on himalaya (no backlight)
then put himalaya in CRANDLE (station, USB)
Serial will change to USB on himalaya
run HIMALAYAUPDATETOOL from my rom
click next
wait
click UPGRADE
wait 30 minutes
when see COMPLETE on your PC:
get your himalaya:
- push CAMERA and RECORD button, then reset with that small hole next to loading slot
- you will see:
KITL: NO
blalba: NO
blalba: NO
or somthing like this
using CAMERA and RECORD button try to set it to
KITL: NO
blabla :YES

Thank you, I could install your rom, my O2 was beautiful, thank you for help with my difficulties. Until it was not as hard as I was thinking.

Someone already downloaded the windows mobile emulator for PC? You know I say it is easy to use, I would like to test applications on the computer before sending to the phone to avoid virus, because I'm downloading the torrent games and applications.
