Help with flashing ROM

Hi, I am new here and I need some help, I flashed my Ext ROM and added some applications on it and every thing works alright. But I am unable to get the XDA 2i automatic soft reset after installing an Hard reset, and since some applications needs clicking Ok button after Installation, i am looking for something to do that job. I remember reading somewhere in these forums and i spent a long time searching back but could not find where it is. I would be gald if somebody could help me.

hi there,
i'm also quite a newbie too, and i recently created a modified rom using Bal666's cool utility. i think i understand your problem with being unable to use the screen after a hard reset.
The problem is that the config.txt file runs a program called "tpdisable.exe" before installing the .cab files, to prevent users interfering with the install process. Simply delete this entry from config.txt in your extended rom image and burn again!

PC crashed while updating ROM
does this make any difference - i've re-booted my laptop and am currently sat on the checking device info screen, how long does it take to check as its been a good 30 mins now..
any help appreciated

Put your device into bootloader mode before you try updating it, it might work a little better.
Remove the entries for tpenable and tpdisable from the config file and the rom itself.
If you want to stop those "This program is designed for...." screens, download WinCE CAB Manager and change the min and max OS versions to 4.21 and 5 respectively on the cabs you are putting into your extended rom.

HI pug thanks for reply, I have a question here...
When installing programs from ROM, some programs may need pressing "OK" to continue. Is there anyway this can be done automatically or can anything be changed in the cab file so we can stop that screen from comming up????

changing the min and max os ver. with wince cab manager didn't work.probably b'coz the os detect the source build in version, not the cab version.

RUU Error 224

I am pretty new at this. I Successfully installed the latest version of Touch-it on my wing. Works great. Now I want to try Open-touch but whenever I run RUU it can't read my device info. Im connected to activesync and I can't figure out why i can't flash again.

Uninstall activesync, and redownload it from the Microslut site.
I had a similiar problem, and that fixed it.

Once you've HardSPL'd ... you don't have to do it again.
Take the RUU_SIGNED.NBH from the open touch download, but use the installation files from the TouchIT installation.
So download both of them. Go to the TouchIT folder, delete the RUU_SIGNED.NBH file, and replace it with the open touch one.

still the same thing is happening. I get to the part where it says "verifying the information on your PDA phone...please wait..." and then i get error 224

What does the error say exactly?

I'm Back
so i successfully installed open touch and i like it. but now when i try to install any .cab file i can't even get it to ask me where i want to install. it just starts the cab, looks like its gunna work for about 1 sec, and then abruptly ends.
any help?

Help - I cannot uninstall programs

Hello!
I need a little help here..
So, after I install a program on my Kaiser, I cannot see it in Start>>Settings>>System>>Remove Programs..
(now, the last program is ultimate launch, but last time it wasnt installed on my pda)
It is the second time i noticed this. Last time i made a Hard Reset, that helped.
but now, I dont want to do a HR
please, help me!

ps: the only way how i can uninstall the program, when i run the cab file again, and it removes it.. (and cancel the operation)

HTC Home Customizer donot work on my Kaiser!!!

I am very new in this forum and also ppc world. Because Kaiser is my first ppc. Well i could install and run lots of softwares till today, but now i have a problem with home customizer. When i click on it, i see this warning message:

FileNotFoundException
The system cannot find the file specified.
OpenNETCF.Drawing.İmaging.IImagingFactory.CreateImageFromFile()
homecust.homecust.BuildPreview()
homecust.homecust..ctor()
homecust.Program.Main()

How can i solve it?

Did you try downloading it again somewhere else and installing it? Looks like it was a bad install.

Have you been soft-reseting between / after installs?

The same probelm with mine ,after hard reseting ,i install it successfully.you can try my method...

Hi to all,
some days ago I've posted searching a solution to a problem that many people have, the quick gps' failure to update.
I've tried all tips and tricks suggested here and in other forums because I don't want to do a hard reset, without lucky.
I want to try a last thing. IS there anyone thar can post as attachment his quickgps.exe file (obviously someone that has the quickgps going well ) ?
I want to try to overwrite my program file and see if something changes.
I've tried to delete it with TC but I'm not able to do it. So i'll try to overwrite it.
I have an italian rom (1.37) so quickgps coming from italian friends with italian rom are especially welcome

Dunno if you've tried this already, but when mine stops working I've found that if I run Internet Explorer and go to www.htc.com wait for it to load and then try again it will then load the quickGPS data.
Works everytime for me.

I had also read about open internet explorer first but it gave me error anyway.
But opening www.htc.com and then using quickgps it GOES !!!!
I don't know where you live but if it happens to you to be in Rome you have a beer payed

I had the same problem and it worked for me too. I couldn't use the youtube app or quick gps
now they both work
