"Butler"-like program needed for keyboard

Anyone know of a Butler-type program for WM to tweak the keyboard? Butler is a Palm program (for Treo mostly). It had two MAJOR benefits-
1. You could "double-click" a keyboard button to get that button's symbol on th screen. For example double click "D" to get a "@".
2. Also, you could hold down a key to get the capital letter. (Hold d for D).
It was a very convienent program and made texting alot quicker because you didn't have to fool around with Caps or symbol keys. Just wondering if anyone had any ideas. Thanks...

remap home key and ok key

Hi, I'd like to remap the hard keys as follows:
- Home key -> Start menu
- Back arrow key -> OK button
any clues about what registry entries are these two hidden under?
Telling me the button code is enough... thanks.
Maybe this one helps. Can't test it myself as i have no Diamond yet.

The OK-button might be:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Keys\40C2
nope, no avail - have checked 40C1 to 40C7 but the only thing that fires an event is the green phone long press (40C6), others no avail (
new info - I have found the key codes using AE Button Plus as follows:
- Home button = #00ED (+no flag)
- Back button = #405C (+Win flag)
continuing research...
( No, I simply do not want to use AE Button Plus... )
Any luck on the research?
afaik, once you run touch 3d. The home key will always overwrite by it.....
HButton

Click to collapse
I have ended up using AE Button plus. It doesn't initially list the buttons, but you can add them from the file menu.
Now I have control of all my buttons.
but jamesd256, do you know a solution without using AEBplus ? maybe just in modifying registry....

how to write underscore(_) on kaiser keyboard

how to write underscore(_) on kaiser keyboard
really??
Function (thats the blue key that says "Fn") + a.
And for characters that do not have a designated key on the keyboard, hit Fn + OK to get a list of symbols.

Remap àü button on X1?

Since I have no use of the àü button on the keyboard (I always use sym anyways), is it possible to remap this button to CTRL?
(I often use PocketPutty client on the phone and I always today have to take out the soft keyboard to do CTRL+O (Save in nano) or CTRL+X (Exit in nano))
Any that knows a registry tweak or something?

Is this possible? Map Sym key as ctrl and au key as alt by driver without any program

I am using 826x 28205 wm6.5.5 (New UI) rom...
and I just want to map "Sym" key as ctrl and "au" key as alt, So I install two programs...
AE Button Plus: To map Sym key as Virtual Button 11 and au key as Virtual Button 12...
PQzII: To map Ctrl = 0xCB (Virtual Button 11) and Alt = 0CC (Virtual Button 12)
This is just fine... BUT... In wm6.5.5(New UI), HTCVolumeControl can't use volume key to control.
I search some volumecontrol programs such as VolumeX, Set volume and so on.
It was cracked by key hook(Just PQzII cracked, AEBP was stable).
Is this possible that hack keypad.dll or create a service dll to map the key?
Ctrl and Alt keys are useful in terminal service(Remote Desktop).
Sorry for my poor English. (I'm from Taiwan. = =")
