ROM 1.6.7.1 for the Qtek 9100 isn't a lot faster

I have read claims that "Start menu" pops up faster, applications opens faster, and in general, the device becomes a lot faster just after the upgrade.
I have checked those claims, with 2 similar Qteks. one was upgraded to the last ROM and is after HR, and on the other - the same factory ROM with HR.
The resaults are in this video (http://www.pocket.co.il/~video/9100-rom/qtek-rom.wmv)
the device on the right is not upgraded, and the device on the left the ROM is 1.6.7.1
both are after HR to check the responses of the start menu and several applications.
If there is indeed an upgrade with this ROM, it isn't affect what we have tested.
Also, please notice that the upgraded ROM reduces the "program" memory to 44MB.
The thing that most poeple forget, is that a device, after HR is faster than a device that was used for some time, so of course you will notice a difference after upgrading, because the device demands a HR.

The (little) problem I habve is that the actual program memory in use is changed with the new rom.
I was using the latest KJam rom before and I had around 30 - 31mb free program memory (to run applications) and its changed with the new rom.
I now have around 24mb...
(44mb total memory and 20mb in use atm)

I have the new ROM (1.6.7.1) installed on my Qtek 9100 and my GPRS icon never changes. Is there some registry hack to enable the Edge icon?

Hello... Where did you get the 1.6.7.1 WWE update? I have not seen this question answered yet as where to get the OEM ROM Updates from Qtek. I have only seen the UK T-Mobile one.
Also does it include MSFP? (Microsoft Messaging and Security Update) (for "push" e-mail?)

This is not an official ROM from QTEK.
Qtek are due to release a new official ROM till the end of this month, and it will include MSFP.

hello where do i get the latest radio rom from. i think i have R1.16 at the moment. But i've upgrade to windows mobile six and since then my msn stopped working and my email won't work. So where do i get rom upgrades from and how do i fix these problems?

edit: got back to WM5 again cant find the perfect 6 for me. And i use the 1.46.30.11 radio with my original WM5

I can't find the perfect WM6 for me either - but I'd take any of the current offering over WM5!!!

OK - that's a valid reason! (about the only one there is )

if i ever were unfortunate enough to get a pda in my native language i would go though fire to get it turned english most reason tend to be lost in translation and most programs one install are in english anyway so better to get 1 language then sad mix

I am aware of versions 1.38 1.41 1.46 and 1.50 - and it's all in English -

There is no indiaction of how large the file is, the transfer rate is 11.6kb/Sec????
EDIT-Its nearly 6.5 MB, @11.6KbS.....i very nearly swore!!! LOL

Missed calls and smses with WiM 6.1 and Radio 1.54

Hi.
Me and a friend have used the WiM 6.1 for a while, he for a month or so and I for a bit longer.
What we both realizes are that we miss calls and smses. Not that we don't hear them, they just don't arrive to our MteORs.
Are we the only ones with that problem? Is there any solution?

Hi Sixx,
I currently use WM6.1 from FutureShock (2.61.0004.0) and Radio 1.54.30.10 her in Germany (ePlus).
I realized a lot of problems like
- dropped calls during a phone call
- partner can't here me after a few minutes while a phone call, then call get's dropped
- call couldn't be made
- No Service
- SMS and Phone calls doesn't reach me, I realized them after 1 oder 2 hours (maybe due to problems with Service)
I already tried to activate GPRS only (no UMTS or Auto), cause this already helped me with my older WM5 ROM (also FutureShock's).
With the older version the phone works fine, so I think I will try to downgrade the radio to 1.38 to see if this works better for me.

No Sim
Sometimes I seem to lose the connection to my simcard.
The breeze shows the message "No Sim" in the home screen.
I haven't found any direct cause for this.
Restarting the breeze will fix this.
So the problem is logical and not physical..

I have shipped the shipped rom WWE, and upgrade to wm6.1, but the problem is still there. Now the radio version is 1.54.30.10 still the new ver.
May somebody tell me why or tell me where to download the feasible rom version.

Are you having the same issue downgrading from 1.54.30.10? This is the hermes radio from hell enjoy many missed calls, delayed txts, dropped calls, bad coverage.
Hermes & Cheetah users also having the same problem -- you can't downgrade/upgrade from this radio rom (despite rom flashes via usb or SD appearing successful) -- once you're on this radio you're screwed.
If Breeze users are having the same issue maybe we can all put our heads together to try and solve this? Our devices are all basically the same inside (despite very different exteriors: i-mate SPJAS, i-mate JASJAM, Treo 750v as examples).
Kaiser users also had a similar issue, however this has now been solved for them: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=393337&page=7
The Kaiser fix does not work for Cheetah users, unsure about others.

Text messages problem

Hi if any one could help me it would be great. My at&t tilt i upgreated the ROM with a hipoer dragon and a WM6.1 at first had problems with the internet not working or the gps and after a week of searching found a patch but now its been about two months and still cant find a patch to be able to send picture or video text.

i am not using any radio rom just the hyperdragon 1 rom

if you are on the at&t network you will need the at&t settings.
There are cabs floating around here that will fix them for you.

If this is your answer, then you didn't read enough before flashing your phone. Besides, since you are having issues with a specific ROM, you are supposed to post your issue in that thread, not create a new one.

Rogers Name Display

After a lot of efforts by a lot of people in the Raphael, i want to send a special thanks to Captain_Throwback
I sent him the rilphone.dll used in the diamond Rogers ROM to enable Name Display on my Diamond using Dutty's ROM v.4
With his knowledge he was able to cook a cab with the proper settings to enable name display without having to cook it directly in the rom.

Same thing for me! I'm a using HTC stock ROM with the original radio and I already tried something in the past and the radio stop to work, I had to hard reset.

On another "Rogers" thread, it was pointed out to me that this solution would only work if my "ROM has been patched to supported unsigned drivers", which is something I don't know.

I am actually not using the stock radio rom provided by rogers.
I updated my radio rom to 1.09.25.23
I'm not sure if Dutty in his rom has set the setting for unsigned drivers.
As far as I know, this worked, and was only on a software basis... I've been following the other thread about the raphael and it seems Captain_Throwback only did changed/added some Registry settings to make it work.
On that note, the rilphone.dll was taken out directly out of rogers original rom (the rom that came with the phone)

Does this not work with Duttys 5.2.20764.1.4.3_V4_Full_MSVC [2.03]?
I installed it and doesn't seem to do it.

My guess is that no... but if you're willing to try.. the worst thing that can happen is that you will have to hard reset your phone, but at least if you do try and it works, i mean it can help a lot of people.

Download the Diamond .cab. Installed in on my XPERIA running 6.5. It works

CNAP on my Diamond with Roger's Wireless network is working for me after installing this rilphone cab. Thank you D0MZE, Captain_Throwback and the other contributors.
I have found that generally after flashing a new radio, I need to re-install the rilphone cab for the caller name to show up in the call history list. Also, I have assumed that in order to keep the Roger's CNAP functionality, I need to stay with this rilphone until Roger's issues a newer version. I also don't really like hard resets so I'm being conservative about flashing. So for now, as I experiment with newer radios, I keep using the rilphone cab provided in this thread.

You can use diff radios with the CAB, but just that sometimes functions in the radio arent implemented in the rilphone.dll which kinda sucks.
For now it will take time until rogers releases another windows mobile phone, so... my opinion is that we're going to have to wait.
Damn rogers.
Concerning the @ sign, it's normal, it just means that the name is longer than what the phone can take.

Has anyone tried this on a tilt with a custom ROM? Tempted to try this...
