i have been playing around with my HTC Shift trying out the ROM's and hacks, but now i want to go back to the way it came from the factory, i searched but could not find a clear method of doing that, can i be guided please ?? or where can i find the Stock ROM for the HTC Shift ?
Just to be clear im talking about the WM (SnapVUE) side..
Im kind of a newbie..

Okay im going to clarify i am stupid, i have a HTC diamond phone to learn the wonderful way of windows mobile.
So far i have done alot of reading before attempting to install someone "cooked rom" i think thats what you call it.
Okay i deffinatley have a gray import from china and im guessing that might not matter. Here is what i think i must do but please correct me or guide me to the right path.
1. Hard reset my phone and install a SPL which i found one 1.24 (im guessing this enables the phone to be prepared for cooked roms).
2. Then get the RUU install that to update the rom version.
3 Then install the radio.
4. download the cooked rom and then just install it.
Now i may have misunderstood this but if you can give my dumb ass a correction or a thread that explains this in noob language i will be very happy. Please dont laugh at me as i am trying to work things out and pressing "search" dont help no idea where to start. Very sorry if i have offended.
I'm with you holmes!
No0b explanation on how to install a ROM needed!
hope it helps

Are the elites better than the usual crap that comes with it, and also do it sort the TCMP lag up on the full avi ect aswell as more efficieant.
Ive put a hard SPL on, unlocked it, and put dutty's rom on.
After many months of it working fine, the backlight has decided to never turn off and the hardware buttons no longer work.
I need to send the phone back but im worried that they will reject it if they find out that ive messed with the rom.
How can i return it to standard so i can send it off - spl etc that is, because im ok with the rom, i can just use HTC's offical one.
Or, on the flip side, does anyone reckon they wont check? - im with orange UK.
Cheers for any help guys
hi m8 you will need the ruu.signed stocksigned hard spl- not 100% sure but i think you have to hard reset afterwards.
View attachment RUU_Signed.zip hope this helps
not sure if i`m allowed to add other peoples attachments so sorry and if mods want to delete it then please do
is this 1.24, 1.37, or 1.93
Please advise where to find 1.93 signed
There are all the original ROMs on Duttys site.

the stocksigned i posted is 135 but your better off following omaga and the link he has posted cos you will need custom rru and you`ll find all the stuff you need in the link
I have my self used this guide when I put my Diamond back in orginal shape, so its works. Put/find your org 1.93 rom first flash it in your phone and then flash the 1.93spl signed. Worked for me!
kk - cheers for the help guys
Got my new one now, so the fun starts again!
I like to start over with WinMo as it was ex factory...having a few issues with our cooked rom's. However, the ClearSnapVue form HTC now times out when trying to clear it.
What are my options? Would a full restore to Vista etc also restore SnapVue?
Any ideas welcome.
vista reset will not re set snap view
vista reset will not re set snap view .
What you need to do is actually use the stock rom and falsh it to your Shift .
Do a search , I beleive there is a stock roma uploaded and a thread exists in xda.
cheers
Thanks for that...will search. I've noticed for some reason my Shift has started to consume power at a much faster rate when switched off...only lasts a few days now where as I would get a week prior. Maybe using the stock ROM will fix that.
did you ever manage to restore the shift WM side to the original ?? i need to restore it as well ..
No I didn't - what I should have done was take a ROM dump prior to using the first cooked one...I'm back with i00's ROM as it's the only that is truly stable with my device. I do have a friend in New Zealand with a Shift and if I can convince him I will take his non SPL'd device and dump the ROM. If I manage that I'll post it for all.
I'm sure that the Original Stock HTC ROM with snapvue is available on this forum.
You can flash it. You will still have a SPL-ed device, but a Stock ROM.
Thai Hugo's one isn't stock standard and I haven't found any others that are close....which one were you thinking of lucid? Cheers

if it's still available from that link I don't know, but surely the guy who posted it can help further.
Hope you get what you need !
Thanks for that - will try to d/l tonight...will post results. CHeers
Hello i apologize for starting a new thread, but i have looked through the boards/sticky's and have been able to find any information about where to get started. my friend owns a completely stock touch diamond from bell (so i assume its cdma). Ultimately he would like to flash android or a better WinMo rom, can you possibly point me in the right direction or tell me what i have to do first (i hav no idea how to get into the bootloader/recovery to check the spl etc.)
thank you in advance
I just bought a used GSM factory touch pro 2 from a guy. It's been hacked with some sort of rom from XDA.
- Can someone please point me into the right direction to throw back on the stock wm 6.1 or 6.5 with TouchFlo3d.
I know NOTHING about this stuff as you can tell, but am willing to give it a shot to try and boot the stock rom back onto the phone (if that makes any sense).
If it helps. i already have 'co0kie's Home Tab Editor, which I don't know how to use/don't need. and I have total commander already on my phone.
thanks in advance for any help - I really do appreciate it. I've been wanting one of these phones since they came out last year and I just want the stock ROM ( boring, I know.. but I'm not confident enough with this kind of stuff).
Cheers

Everyone has to start somewhere...
read this post: [Resources] Flashing your First GSM Rhodium Rom (For Noobs)
it is a sticky so will be at the top of this forum section.
Since you already have a custom rom and therefore hardSPL you just need to follow step 3. Dont worry about flashing a new radio (step 4) unless you want to.
Thanks mrj
I just found out that I have a SEA version of the phone after blindly luckily stumbling upon the sea version of htc's website for the stock ROM. I can't seem to sync the phone and windows mobile for my pc thought. But I will follow those steps you have laid out for me. Thanks again mrj
Cheers
Try a hard reset on your phone and reinstall the activesync software on the PC, otherwise you can try to flash via SD card (I think) I never actuallly tried it.
I always flash thru via sd card since i am on the go most of the time. You would have to go to HTC to get the stock rom for TP2 but if your looking for roms in specific country then have to check here in XDA or HTC. good luck with the search if you need info we can help
