Hello people,
i just finished installing Radio_1.13.25.24 on the Blackstone, but again FM radio is not working...
i get into the application normally, connect the headphones, but no sound at all.
what could the problem be ??
do i need to install anything else, except Radio_1.13.25.24.nbh ?
well the radio 1.13 isn't actually the radio application. This is to do with the phone signal among other things. If the radio ap is not working look at a hard reset to try and fix this.
Also if you just play an MP3 and use the headphones does this work? and when your headphones are plugged in check the volume as there are 2 different settings for volume, 1 with headphones and 1 without
damn, how could i be so stupid ??
thanks for the help mate !
dont worry about it. I wondered what the radio was for when i got my first phone.

all comm includin bluetooth, wifi, radio, gprs etc r managed by the radio.
the radio is linked to the OS via a file called rilphone.dll
i didn't install this dll.
do i have to ?
also, when i flash a new rom, does the radio stay the way it was (like 1.13 in my case) or do i have to reflash the radio as well ?

Hi There,
I have SD flashed my 6515a and I can not get the phone part to work on it, when I press the green call button nothing happens, also the phone status says there is no service,
I know the sim is good as it works perfectly fine on my other 6515a.
I have tried to upgrade the radio stack but can never get it to update via PC.
Any clues Please? I would like to have them both working!
Thanks!
Jeremy
GSM Radio
Go to the asset viewer and select the GSM tab. Look at the first line where it says Radio Present. Does it say yes or no? If it says no, then based on what you have said about not being able to update the Radio ROM I would have to say you have a corrupted Radio ROM. This, unfortunately is irrecoverable in almost all instances. I went through this many months ago and finally had to buy a used 6515a with a broken screen just to get a good motherboard. I even sent mine to PocketPC Techs to see if they could fix it, but they could not and sent it back to me with no charge for looking at it, those guys are really good to work with. HP charges a small fortune for a new motherboard. If you want the other one working, I suggest looking on eBay for one that has a broken screen but the motherboard is good. I got mine for about 50USD.
Bottom line: A corrupted Radio ROM is a corrputed Radio ROM and cannot be fixed if it is truly corrputed.
Radio Present
In the asset viewer it does say the radio is present although everything below that is blank i.e. firmware version, radio stack version, etc...
I tried using the HP radio update but that does not work and I also am currently tring to flash the radio via SD but that does not appear to bo working either...
let me know if anyone has a solution for me!!
Thanks All!
Jeremy
Some folks have had limited success with the Beetles Radio Patch. It can be downloaded from the url listed below. Just download the file, connect your ipaq the way you would to do a normal rom update, then run the file. It will attempt to update your Radio Stack only with the patch. This patch is from HTC the people who actually make the Radio Stack.

I upgraded to WM6.5 and after flashing everything seems fine but I noticed the sound is not working when I play music and if calls comes in I cant hear it ring.
Please help me what should I do? I really need your help.
Radio.....................
please what shoul I do, which of the ROM do I need to use to resolve the problem.
thanks.
You need to look in the ROM thread for recommended Radio or other users of ROM Radio, then go to Radio STICKY download the Radio & Flash it...
And maybe even search for your problem.
Guys today when i tried launching FM radio i kept getting Unexpected error. FM radio will start if the headset is not plugged in but as you all know the application will request to plug in the headset and the same error would pop up again after plugging in the headset.
I am using Touch-IT WWE rom.
Same issue I have with v10 and v12
Just install FMradio from this cab and it works for me
I had the same problem when I installed new media panel... had to remove it to get the htc fm radio working

Thanks for the cab file. I will try to install this later in the evening.
I'm having some issues with the radio aswell
Hi guys,
when i try to open the radio app on my xperia, it just says unexpected error and nothing else, and the app doesn't open. I've tried installing the cab file above but it makes no difference.
Any ideas?
scrap that
Thanks i just realised that i had the sony erricson media experience panel installed - i just unistalled it like suggested above, and the htc radio cab worked.
Bit strange the radio app didn't work in the first place really insn't it considering that it came preinstalled and everything. lol
FM radio not getting installed
I tried install the FM Radio.cab file on my HTC Touch but gives me an error
"It File FM radio cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate,or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists try reinstalling or restoring the file."
Please help me to install it.
Works and it doesn't work
I have tried the full FM radio app on both HTC touch pro 2's I have. One has WM6.1, and the other has WM6.5. I decided to do the free tmobile HTC upgrade to WM6.5. The radio app works ok on the WM6.1, but doesn't work on the WM6.5. Thats when I get the unexpected error message like you guys do. There must be a problem with the WM6.5 compatibility. I am using the full FMradio.cab file that's about 6 megs in size to test here. So the issue isn't the cab file, but rather compatibility with the new OS's. Are you all using the newer Wm6.5 as well?

Im using WM6.1 HTC s743 (non touch screen smartphone) and Im having exactly the same problem...And my phone doesn't have any kind of media panel or something...
hi forum. i have been looking around to solve this problem but i wasn't able to find a solution yet so i am asking here.
i had a tilt working great, i had an accident and the phone is destroyed so i get another one.
it is the same phone but it just don't have the camera, this one came with a new version of windows mobile(6.1).
i am now having this issue, when i get an incoming call and i answer i can't hear anything from the other side and the other side can't hear me either.
after that, the phone gets totally muted, it don't make any more sound when sliding or whatever.
the only way to fix it is reboot the phone, that way i get sound again but after i get an incoming call the problem happens again.
the problem wasn't happening if i made the call but today i made a long call and after a while talking i got a constant buzz, the buzz only stopped after i turned off the phone.
any help will be apreciated as i am totally lost here.
thanks.
Have you tried flashing a different radio or a different ROM?
talking with my vendor it seems that he flashed the rom and maybe the porblem can be the radio.
i am reading here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=393182 but i dont have idea wich radio should i download and either how to make the installation.
my device information is:
ROM version: 3.57.502.2 WWE
Rom date: 07/17/2008
Radio Version: 1.70.OliNex
Protocol Version: 25.65.30.04H
so maybe the radio is not compatible with the rom and that is why i am having issues with the sound ?
That is a possibility. The nice part about flashing radios is that they are completely independent from the ROM. When you flash a radio it won't flash or reset your device. Therefore, you can flash and test as many radios as you want without any real negative side-effects Just stick with the one that ends up working the best for you!
Digital Outcast, thank you for your help.
do you think you or someone can point me to a tutorial to flash the radio only ?
i am finding how to update the rom but not the radio only.
thank you again.
To flash the radio follow the same steps as flashing the ROM. You need only the radio (.nbh file) and the Kaiser Custom RUU. Just don't do a hard-reset or anything after it completes!
cool, i installed a new radio and it fixed that problem, i am checking other common features of the phone, for now everything seems to be fine.
thank you very much for your help
Problem with incoming call
I have exactly the same problem and the same versions of software and firmware. Which version of the radio firmware did you install? Where did you get it? This is my first use of a smart phone and don't know much at all about where to get this.
Thanks!!

Start by reading the stickies. Always best place to start. Or if you are lazy and wish to just jump to radios use this >link<. But I definitely recommend you read all the stickies before flashing a device for the first time. Just start with the newest radio and work backwards til you find a good one for your device.
So i flashed my tilt to HardSPL3.29 then ran the procedure to unlock it. So when i insert my SIM card i can make calls but no one can here me. I have read everywhere and cant seem to find the issue. I have tried different radios and OS roms. I did make sure they were compatible. Is there something i am missing? OR did i just make my phone useless?
Thanks for all the great information on here. I could not believe i made it this far. Any help is very much appreciated.
Hard SPL isn't going to touch the microphone, and if you didn't flash a new ROM then the radio should be fine.
Could be a hardware problem, unrelated to the flashing.
Can you record anything, using HTC recorder or notes?
No i cant record anything also.
Running the unlocker flashed the radio.
Flash a new radio and you'll be fine : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=393182
Dave
I did flash a new radio and it still does not work. I am lost with all the different versions and release by different people. I even flashed it back to WM6.0 ATT Rom with the 1.27 radio and i still can make calls but no one can hear me. I am also running hardspl 3,56, When i try to flash a Radio i get a RSA error or something. I then have to flash a complete radio/rom image to the phone to get it to boot. Should i be running a different HardSPL?
hello
had the same problem
i changed the microphone all ok now
Is it easy to change the microphone? I have a similar problem, in that it's intermittent. On some calls people can here me, on other calls they can't. I've tried various radios, but not managed to cure it. It's come to the point where I can't trust my TyTN 2 anymore, and I'm now using an old Samsung phone.
hi
not very hard to change micro but hard to open the phone.
plz any one have link to buy microphone !!
