i was wondering if there is an app to password protect files like videos or images ?
Thanks.
Photo Safe on the market password protects photos. Also Video Safe is there. Both are free.
Another one is PhotoVault, they also make SMSVault and VideoVault. These are paid.

Can anyone recommend a good application (preferably free) that enables us to have a secure section for photos, videos and documents?
Hide it pro is pretty good. It shows up as "audio manager" in the app drawer so no one will know the difference.

Search for Vaulty in the market. I know it hides pics and videos and can be password protected, not sure about documents though.

wow... if you really need to hide something then don't put it on your phone.
Or do what I did...put 3 ... Before the file folder and it hides the folder and content. And then when you wanna view just enable hidden folders in the settings and bam there their for ya.
...jeepers creepers mofo.s...
RR File Locker will do exactly what you're looking for.
I understand they can't go on the homescreen but is there anyway with or without root to get some art?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=872295
I was talking about in the library for it to have the cover, not on the homescreen.
If it doesn't have art you can just add it using the Calibre software.
If you download covers in Calibre then re-convert them, the artwork shows with no issues.

I've been using Claibre to put art on a bunch of sideload booksI already had, but I've got one set that WILL NOT show the art on the library, no matter what I do. Anyone else have this issue?
I've had the same problem. Some of the books I send from calibre have covers, some do not. If I go to the folder the epubs are stored in, the picture file is there, but the covers don't show up in the library.
I'd love to find the solution.
Same problem here...
I was able to fix most of them by deleting them from my nook, then going into calibre and reconverting them epub to epub, then reloading.
If that didn't work, I deleted again, went back to calibre, edited the metadata, but chose a different soucre, and downloaded the cover again.
But after doing all of that, I still have one that I can't get to load with a cover...
The way that has worked on every single book for me, is to convert the book to Mobi, then delete the epub file, and reconvert it back to epub. (using Calibre)
There are certainly other ways as mentioned above, but this has worked well for me and I've yet to have a book which doesn't show the cover art.
After much trial and error, I hit on Brebauer's solution of delete, edit the metadata, but rather than just reinstall, went back to the convert tab on Caliber, attached the new cover again from there, then converted again. Also, after deleting the old copies, I did a full power off on my Nook before restoring the new ones. Then another full power off before checking new ones. Using that method, I did a package of 30 very late last night and every single one was perfect.
I want to write my own c#/XAML/javascript code for phone 8 (so that I learn a bit of coding related o phone 8) for keeping all my videos safe by a password.
I want to create a app which will ask user a numeric password when user tries to play a video from my phone. So, how can I implement it ?
p.s. I'm not asking for exact code to do it. I want to know how I can achieve this feature through c#/XAMl/javascript code
1. Create screen for entering password on open of App
2. If it's true, open the Application isolated Storage area
3. If not, quit it.
4. If you want to add a video [secure it], open the library and ask user to select the video, copy it to your app isolated storage area and remove from original library.
5. to un-secure it, you can follow the reverse step.
That is not locking a video .
I want to lock a video in its present location, I mean without cut-paste soln. you gave. . But my intent behind asking question was, is it possible to have a lock on a video or all videos together without copy-paste or cut paste from it's original location ?
Apps have no way of interfering with system functions: that includes access to the image/video library. So: you can't implement that feature in the way you described.
there are some apps in the store that can insert media into the system media folders like music videos etc..
How do they do it? That's a very good question....
They do something similar, that is they import files and then you have delete the video from original location .
And this is one reason for me to develop my own app to protect my videos.

So, you mean I cant develop it . So, is it possible to develop something like applock (for android) which lock apps but not individual video. I'll lock the video player itself if it is possible
Question for all the vets here.....Im coming from an iPhone so Im obviously familiar with a different way of doing things.
Im trying to figure out how the file structure works within Android. Im mostly referring to media files and where/how they are stored and accessed. Im used to everything being stored inside my "camera roll" or whatever its called in a iphone. It would store all videos, photos, screen shots, downloaded images, everthing but music.
Now with Android it appears everything is kind of all over the place. Pictures are in Google Photos and are also accessible from the camera app. Screen shots and downloaded pictures are also stored in Google Photos yet aren't accessible from the camera app? Videos are all over the place. Vids I record are in Google Photos and accessible from the camera app. Videos I download are in the downloads folder.
Seems like everything is kind of spread out and a mess/not easily accessible. Am I doing something wrong?
Then that brings me to other files like documents. I've downloaded excel files from email and click save to drive and then they don't show up in my google drive. I access them in sheets. Then tried saving to device, no clue where those are saved to/accessible from.
Basically the whole file management system is a bit confusing to me. Hopefully someone can help clear things up for me. I know I can download a file management app and access everything from their respective folders which is fine. But Im more concerned with where everything is stored/accessed from an app standpoint.
Thanks for the help if you read that whole mess!!!

Gallery, root explorer, and most pictures always end up in Pictures or DCIM/Camera.
the iPhone file structure isn't that much better when you jailbreak, either. on my iPad it works the same way and downloads from the net go into a weird temp folder.
Anyways, you need to get an external app to view stuff really well. Google stuff doesn't ever really work well for me, I would get office suite.
I notice that photo apps on the GVR have access to all my pictures. This means I am unable to allow anyone else to experience the GVR as they will have access to pictures/videos/media that I would them rather not having the chance to peruse through!!
Is there any way to stop this access? Is it as simple as putting a nomedia file in the folders?
In general, I am concerned about the privacy implications of allowing other people to use your GVR. Is there any way to put a restricted/guest mode on it or restrict apps/permissions globally or individually for VR apps?
I would also like to hide/exclude some of my videos like the other .nomedia option provides. anyone can help?
After playing around I think I finally found the answer to this question. I moved all my VR videos into Oculus Folder on my phone or into a Download Folder on my SD Card. Only those two Folders will play when I use my Samsung VR. Try it and let me know your results.
