Strangest behavior with Time Zone changing. - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV General

Hello to All.
I need to set the timezone to GMT+2 Helsinki.
For some reason the timezone will change back to GMT+2 Pretoria.
Phone: HTC Diamond
ROM: EnergyROM Series "Mercury" 21921
Radio: 1.09.25.23
This will happen as following:
1. Setting home time to Helsinki via START/SETTINGS/CLOCK & ALARMS
2. Opening clock via Manila and Helsinki is listed as my Local time
3. Closing Manila clock and opening right away – Home time is changed to GMT +2 Pretoria and all appointments have been shifted by one hour.
Automating Timezone is not checked.
Then I started to try some other options.
Marked Local time to :
GMT London - everything is ok, no change
GMT Casablanca – changing to GMT London
GMT +1 Paris – changed to GMT +1 W Centre Africa
GMT+2 Jerusalem – changing to GMT+2 Pretoria
GMT+2 Windhoek – changing to GMT+2 Pretoria
GMT+2 Minsk - ---
GMT + 3 Moscow – changing to GMT +3 Riyad
GMT+3 Tbilisi - changing to GMT +3 Riyad
GMT+3 Riyad – no change
GMT+3 Nairobi - changing to GMT + 3 Riyad
GMT+3 Baghdad – opening manila, it shows GMT+3 Riyadh, closing and reopening doesn’t cause any changes.
GMT+9 Seoul - ok
GMT +10 Guam – opening manila – it shows GMT+10 Brisbane
GMT+13 Tonga - everything is ok
Reinstalled ROM (having Energy Rom right now), Reinstalled Radio , no other software is installed.
I posted this problem to Energy rom thread as well. But it might not be rom issue.
So this is just madness… 
thank you for any response.

Try this cab, also go into the clock and set your local city from the weather tab to the top.

Thanks.
at the moment it fixed my calendar and general time. so it wont mess up anymore.
it still changes the default timezone, but now it changes from GMT+2 Helsinki to GMT+3 Riyad. As this is the same timezone as GMT+2 Helsinki in summer time, it'll be ok.

Was having teh same problem with the energy rom. Will this change anything when summer time ends? Will I have to run another cab or will the time change back an hour automaticly?
Thanks

Same problem here, after flashing EnergyROM. Timezone keeps on setting itself to GMT+2 Windhoek. I didn't like the RAM usage of the EnergyROM, so I flashed back to Gen.Y. The frustrating part is that the Timezone issue is now also present in the Gen.Y ROM
I even exported the registry from another Diamond running Gen.Y ROM (without problems) and imported this. But to no avail.
Any suggestions are welcome.

I had the same problem

I installed the latest microsoft CAB file for timezone and DST, and it fixed the problem for me.

Clock changes at night

Hello Community
Now, I use Topix 2.7, but I tried some other Roms too.
My problem is, that my clocktime changes sometimes.
So sometimes at midnight my clock says its 11:17 or so...
When I restart my phone, the clock shows the right time, but after a day or so the clocktimechange goes on...
I use Activesync not very often, so I'm sure it doesn't depend on this
greets
I had the same issue,
disabling automatic change time zone and clock did the trick
In future please try and post query in rom thread you are using instead of creating new thread
Thanks

FAQ
1. Do I need a hard reset after flashing this ?
Well, probably not - but still, it cannot hurt either ..
2. My x/y/z stuff is not working. What should I do ?
Please report your findings in this thread and.. hopefully we'll manage to find a solution .
Either way, check any third party software you are installing - especially taskbar icons and Manila customizations - these have a habit of breaking things, as they are usually replacing system files with edited ones.
3. What Manila tabs are included in this ROM ?
The standard Manila 2.5 tabs (no Footprints, E-reader or Facebook, sorry):
Home
People
Messages
Mail
Internet
Calendar
Stocks
Photos & Videos
Music
Weather
Twitter
Settings
4. What is the battery life on this ROM ?
It should be on par with the rest of the WM 6.5.x/Manila 2.5 ROMs, maybe slightly better (there are some minor tweaks, here-and-there, that might improve battery life).
5. What is the pagepool for this ROM ?
The pagepool is set to 32 MB - I am considering releasing a version with the pagepool set to dynamic/default.
6. I want the nice HTC volume control, I hate the ugly WM one!
Unfortunately there is no solution yet to integrate the HTC volume control into WM 6.5.3 builds - as soon as a solution is found, an update will be issued.
Bugs/fixes
1. The new SMS notification is not working.
On a new received SMS there is no notification sound, even if it's enabled in the settings.
Status:
Fixed in version 1.032. Appointments are not showing on home screen.
Appointmens are not displayed on the home screen (I assume the original report refers to the Manila home tab).
Status:
Fixed in version 1.033. Wrong contact dialed when using Manila favorites tab.
When dialing from the Manila favorites tab, sometimes a different number is dialed.
Status:
Not confirmed - only 1 report on this, cannot be reproduced.4. MSN Money/MSN Weather widgets are not working.
Status:
No Fix - these widgets come with the current SYS (28244), I assume that's something wrong with that - hopefully it will be solved in a new 28xxx branches leak.
Widgets removed from 29005/29007 builds.5. The camera works only up to 3 megapixels.
Status:
Fixed in version 1.04
Fixes/Cabs
Version 1.02/1.03:
------------------------------
5MP_Camera.cab
Fix for camera capturing only at 3 megapixels, it also enables the hidden camera modes (sports, GPS, etc).
All Versions:
------------------------------
3G_CommManager.cab
Adds a 3G switch to the CommManager, that enables/disables 3G on the device. The graphics (button) was taken from here, thanks JZ SmartMort. Please remember to install this onto DEVICE, not STORAGE CARD.

pagepool
Hi,
I've installed this rom and it's very very fast but it has lower free ram than other roms.
Why have you set pagepool to 32 mb??
It starts with 60 - 65 mb of free ram and after a while it seetles down at 40 - 45 mb free, which it's not much...
New sms notification isn't working, although I've vibration on and a sound for new sms, it doesn't do anything !
Thanks!
Ahh... nice to see a new ROM. I'll test it when the new sms notification bug is fixed and when the pagepool is set to lower value

It feels snappier this way - still, I'm considering releasing a version with dynamic pagepool enabled.

I tested this on 2 different devices, and it seems to work - on a new SMS, the SMS sound is played and the notification icon is shown in the taskbar.
Possible resolutions:
1. Eliminate any notification related software - chances are that the notification is blocked by some third-party stuff.
2. Perform a task 29 (here) or flash a stock ROM before flashing this ROM.
I'm still investigating this and waiting for feedback form other users as well.
Thanks for testing this!

Can you give me more details on how/when is this happening ?
Thanks in advance!

Hi, congrulations with your rom. I'm using it now 2 days and...
-Battery consuption is very stabile.
-MSN Money and MSN Weather doesn't work either.
-Facebook and MyPhone apps are old versions.
-On pictures and music tabs does the Manila not rotate.
-Wifi and other wireless things working good.
-I had one problem with unlocking device, after a call that was missed.
Those were my experiences with your rom and I like your rom! Thanks!
alarms & snooze options
Another problem I found its that alarms sometimes don't work, and there's no popup with snooze options when they work.
A pitty because this rom is very very fast, maybe due to this pagepool size of 32 mb...
sms
Sms definetly not working with this rom, no sound, no vibration,...
Even if i activate "wake up on new sms" option there is no sound or vibration, just the screen on with the message, so it's not useful if you haver your mobile in your poket for example.
I've installed two different htc messaging clients NRG 2012 and pyrob 2019, the same problem with all of them.
E-mail notification it's working perfect with push mail.
EDIT: And yes, I installed a stock rom + task 29 before installing this one !
I can't wait for fixes I may be lucky not to have those issues mentioned above downloading right now.
Still waiting for version with lower pagepool as I want a lot of free ram
I'll post my feedback later
posting from touch hd...
this rom is soooo fast and smooth! the fastest 6.5.3 + 2.5 I've ever tried.
even I dont have to turn off animations in CHT!
Ive got one bug: the volume screen does not appear, but the volume can be changed - i hear the click sound when pressing vol buttons.
good job

System Time set wrong

Not sure if this is a known problem but ...
When setting the clock time, then selecting the correct ime zone, the GMT offsets are incorrect.
For example, when selecting the N.A. Eastern Time Zone, is sets the time for GMT -4 hours. This should be -5 hours!! Similar for many other tme zones.

Incorrect world time zones

(OmniROM Lollipop 5.1.1 Nightly)
Stock OmniROM clock app shows a lot of incorrect world time zones. Correct San Francisco time is GMT -7:00 but the clock app says it's GMT -6:00. Same thing happens to London, Miami, Moscow and so on.
It's not a bug related to daylight saving time, because Los Angeles time is correct unlike San Francisco. Maybe it's caused by incorrect 'tzdata', in this case OmniROM contains outdated or incorrect tzdata files which can be found in /system/usr/share/zoneinfo/ or /data/misc/zoneinfo/.
This bug makes clock app unusable. Correct time information is very crucial for clock app. Next OmniROM release must include latest tzdata files.
The problem relates to more than just the clock app.
I have freshly installed OmniROM 4.4.4-20150520-jflte-FINAL on my Samsung Galaxy S4 SGH-M919 and then configured the settings and have not installed other apps.
I can confirm that much of the time zone information present to select in the ROM is incorrect.
What carrier are you using? Do you have Settings > Date & time > Automatic time zone selected?
At least with T-Mobile, I have had problems associated with letting the carrier set my time zone.
I have no reason to believe that the ROM has the wrong time-zone information as it works as expected for both OmniROM 4.4.4 and 5.1.1 on several phones, as long as I take control of the time zone from T-Mobile or am on one of my other SIMs.
Edit: In looking at the OmniROM source, /system/usr/share/zoneinfo/tzdata comes from the (unmodified) AOSP sources from bionic/libc/zoneinfo/tzdata and I only see commits in the last couple years that are updates to new "official" versions of tzdata as they are released. Any problem with the tzdata would then impact most ROMs out there. If there was a problem, it wouldn't be isolated to a couple people, ROMs, or devices.

I am not using a carrier nor a SIM. Neither Automatic time zone nor Automatic date & time are set.
I have figured out the problem. It appears that although date and time information may be set manually, accounting for Daylight Saving Time is automatic based on the date and time, but such is not made obvious to the user. OmniROM automatically presents the GMT offset adjusted for Daylight Saving Time; so, for example, if the usually United States of America and Canada Central time were desired, its GMT offset would customarily be presented as GMT - 6, but would instead be presented as GMT - 5 in OmniROM if the currently set date and time is withing the defined period for Daylight Saving Time.
The OmniROM design for manual setting date and time is, in my opinion, of bad practice; if manual date and time configuration is optional, then whether or on an adjustment should be made for Daylight Saving Time should too be optional if such an adjustment is at all to be implemented.
I particularly prefer manually setting the date and time information in the following order: Time Zone, Date, and then Time.

It's not "The OmniROM design" - it's "The AOSP design" - we haven't made any changes to this functionality, and thus it behaves just like a Nexus.
